Clemson Wins, South Carolina Pummeled

First, the good news. The Clemson Tigers defeated the Duke Bluedevils by a score of 31-7 in Clemson's Death Valley.

This was Homecoming Day for Clemson, and the Tiger fans enjoyed watching their team win one for Homecoming. This brings Clemson's record on the season to 5-5.

Clemson travels to Charlottsville for next Saturday's game against Virginia.

Now, the bad news. The South Carolina Gamecocks were pummeled by the Florida Gators this afternoon by a final score of 56-6.

Carolina's top-ranked defense was no match for the unusually strong Gator offense, and the most the Gamecocks could manage was 2 field goals.

The loss brings Carolina's record to 7-4 on the season.

Next Saturday is an off day for the Gamecocks. Their season finale will be Saturday, November 29 against their cross-state rivals, the Clemson Tigers.

That game will be played in Clemson, the time to be announced.

Obama Receives Spike in Death Threats

Texas Fred reports on a story from the AP that says Barack Obama has received more death threats than any other President-elect in U.S. history.

It should be noted that ALL Presidents-elect receive these threats after a Presidential election. It comes with the territory.

But what is curious is the fact that Obama has received more than anyone else.

Now let me be very clear about this. Only a nutcase would personally threaten a United States President, Barack Obama included. Such a thing is simply over the top, and 99.99% of Americans, including me, would never even think about participating in such a brazen act.

To be sure, the 56 million Americans who voted against Barack Obama have been very emotional, sometimes heated, in our outrage that someone with Obama's political ideology could actually get elected to the White House.

We can expect the heated debate to continue.

But personal threats?

Deranged and unstable persons can often be pushed over the edge by forceful rhetoric. And the widespread fear of Obama and a Democratic majority in Congress may well have pushed the most unstable among us over the edge to the point of doing something stupid.

In the New Testament, for example, Jesus uses vivid and stunning imagery to describe the importance of avoiding placing oneself in a position to be tempted to do wrong. He said, 'If your hand offends you, cut it off. Better for your hand to burn in hell than your entire body. And if your eye offends you, gouge it out, for better to go to heaven blind than for the whole body to burn in hell.'

The imagery is metaphor, that is, not to be taken literally.

But the emotionally disturbed have been known to read those statements of Jesus and proceed to mutilate themselves, as if doing so will keep them from sin.

Those of us who are Jeffersonian libertarians have often stated that we would never fire the first shot against forces of tyranny who seek to rob us of our rights and property. Tyrannical government will always have to make the first move.

But we will not hesitate to defend ourselves against the forces of anti-freedom who wish to rob us of our guns, our property, our freedom to speak our minds, including engaging in heated political debate, our right to worship as we please, print what we please as citizen journalists, and to assemble to discuss our shared values.

These are clear rights given to all human beings by God and enumerated in and protected by the Constitution of the United States.

But as patriots who love our country and who wish to see ALL human beings free, we would never initiate any harm to anyone unless in self-defense and in response to an overt threat to our lives and liberties.

I write this today in order to differentiate us and what we are about from those who are intent on doing harm to others unprovoked. Strict Constitutionalists believe that murder is evil. We are guided by clear-cut principles, moral principles, that allow killing only under certain specified conditions, self-defense being the primary condition.

Carolina Faces Florida, Clemson vs. Duke

The South Carolina Gamecocks will face the Florida Gators in 'the Swamp' today at 3:30 PM ET. This major SEC game will pit the number one defensive line in the SEC (South Carolina) against the number one offensive team in the conference (Florida).

The Gators have been a powerhouse this season with a record thus far of 8-1.

South Carolina Coach Steve Spurrier hopes that his Gamecocks can pull off an upset against his old Alma mater and stomping grounds as the nation's top Head Coach. A Carolina win today will bring the Gamecocks to 8-3 on the season.

Meanwhile, Clemson will have its Homecoming festivities today as the Tigers square off against Duke at 12 noon ET.

Coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers hope to win their 5th game of the season today.

When Extremists Run the Government

They have decided that Americans are too dumb and helpless to manage their own financial affairs, so they are discussing seizing the private retirement accounts of citizens and placing them under the control of the federal government.

They have decided that American capitalism, which has produced the most prosperous nation in the history of mankind, is to blame for the failure of corrupt individuals in government and business to competently and honorably manage the nation's banking, housing, and mortgage industry, and thus, certain businesses must be partially owned by the government (the definition of fascism).

They have decided that the citizens must be coerced and forced into 'cooperation' with the new 'rulers,' and thus they will organize a massive citizen army that will report directly to Barack Obama. This civilian security force will have power and funding equal to that of the U.S. military.

They have decided that conservative talk radio has been so successful as the only counter-balance to a decidedly biased and liberal mainstream media that it must be silenced under the guise of a censorship mechanism called 'the Fairness Doctrine.'

They are going to close Gitmo and bring roughly 200 extremely dangerous, hardcore terrorists to the American mainland to stand trial. These are the people who guide airplanes into buildings and behead 'infidels.' Do you want a head-chopper housed somewhere near you?

They believe that the U.S. Constitution is 'flawed' because it does not mandate stealing from the affluent in order to give to others. Redistribution of wealth, a common plank in the Socialist/Communist form of government, is their ideal.

And then, to top it all off, terrorist William Ayers, friend and partner to Barack Obama, appeared on ABC's 'Good Morning America' and admitted what Obama denied, which is that he and the incoming President are 'close family friends.'

The question is, had Americans been informed about this prior to the election in the mainstream newspapers and TV outlets, would the election have turned out very differently? Why are we only now hearing about this in the mainstream media outlets?

To be sure, Ayers is no longer planting bombs as he did in the 1960s and 70s, but his radicalism is still the same, and he is not sorry that he engaged in violence to promote his radicalism. These are HIS words, not mine.

Obama and Ayers collaborated on a number of projects through the years. Obama wrote a foreword for one of Ayers' books, and Ayers admitted on Good Morning America that he had, indeed, been involved in Obama's early political career. All of this, of course, was denied by Obama on camera in a debate with John McCain.

As if this were not enough, it has been disclosed by unnamed sources that Obama secretly met with Hamas when he made his trip to the Middle East and Europe during the campaign. When the details of this meeting become known, and when Americans discover what was discussed during that meeting, if everything you've read thus far hasn't convinced you that the country has made a big mistake, then this will seal the deal.

Obama went out of his way to attempt to convince Jews he was pro-Israel. But if he met with a terrorist organization that believes Israel has no right to exist, what will Jewish citizens think then? What will any American think when they discover that in all likelihood he made a deal to give away half of Jerusalem to terrorists?

And let's not forget that millions of dollars in campaign contributions to Obama have been traced back to Hamas. Not only is this illegal, but the fact that Obama would meet secretly with the group while in the area suggests just how much the 'President-elect' owes those terrorists.

The handwriting is on the wall. Obama was bound to know that the truth about his ideology, his methodology, his plans for implementing a statist model in America, and his ominous associations with subversives, would be exposed early on in his administration.

The problem is, he has been exposed even before he takes office.

And, with Obama's well-known opposition to any American owning and carrying a firearm, confirmed by his requirement that anyone seeking to serve in his administration must not be a gun owner, perhaps his time-frame for confiscation will coincide with the ugly truth--all of the truth--finally being made public.

This is no time to let down our guard. This is a time to be watchful and super-vigilant.

The subversives may count on our ignorance, but we don't have to prove the point.

Walls of the City has ObamaRahmaDingDong. ROFL!!

Texas Fred comments on illegal immigration and government policy under Obama.

The Rustmeister says that waiting is the wrong thing to do when it comes to Obama's agenda, and I fully agree!

Insight on Freedom has a skull-buster of a hum-dinger on something Obama did secretly with regard to foreign policy, which, once it comes to light may ruin his Presidency, and rightly so.

Alphecca provides essential reading on the possible automaker bailout.

Roberta X posts an absolute must-read on the mainstream media and their coverage of the spike in gun sales.

Speaking of 'the Press,' 21 Guns Salute shares his own personal experience running up against anti-gun bias in a local newspaper. Read it all.

Democrats Move Forward to Censor Conservatives

Despite the mainstream media's news blackout on the subject, Newsbusters is reporting that a new Democratic appointee to the FCC gives a 3-2 edge to those who wish to silence conservative talk radio by resurrecting the old ' fairness doctrine' that did anything but insure fairness.

This is a blatant attempt to censor conservative speech on the airwaves.

If Liberals within the Democratic Party and Barack Obama's new administration want more liberalism on the radio, then they should have to compete for it just like conservatives do.

But each time Liberals have attempted to compete, they fail miserably because the sponsors, the listener support, etc, simply aren't there.

Rush Limbaugh isn't all over the radio because he is a conservative. He is there because he is that good and because he draws a huge audience. And sponsors know that when they pay Rush to advertise their products, they make huge profits.

Why? Because Rush has a gazillion listeners throughout America, and the sponsors know it.

If Liberals had that kind of mass appeal on the radio, they would have some success. But their ideas don't sell, and thus, they have no listeners, which means the sponsors won't pay to advertise with them.

It really is just that simple.

But that's not good enough for the enemies of free speech that this country has just elected to the White House and Congress. If they can't compete, they want to force opposing voices off the air completely.

This is a travesty of liberty, and it should not be tolerated in a free society.

But apparently no matter what freedom-loving Americans want, Obama and his Gestapo are pushing full steam ahead with their plans to implement this censorship, and Obama's transition team co-chair John Podestra has already laid the groundwork for the assault through his own creation called 'Media Matters.'

The time to wage an all-out battle against these enemies of free speech is NOW, and there is no time to spare. While Americans are still in their 'shock and awe' over their Obamessiah, the goons and thugs are working overtime to get their subversive work done while no one is watching.

If these enemies of free speech and liberty in general are allowed to squelch conservatives on the radio, then there will be absolutely no doubt that the country is held in the grip of evil men and women who fear the freedom of the citizens.

Obama Friend Terrorist William Ayers on ABC's GMA

Although the mainstream media steadfastly refused to investigate and report on the obviously close relationship between Barack Obama and domestic terrorist William Ayers, suddenly, after the election of course, Ayers appears on ABC's 'Good Morning America.'

Funny how the mainstream media suddenly discovers William Ayers after helping secure the election for Barack Obama.

The Chicago Tribune even referred to Ayers in a manner Obama denied during the campaign: 'William Ayers describes himself as a "family friend" of President-elect Barack Obama.'

Wow. Does this mean, then, that our new Messiah, the Lightworker, the One sent from heaven to deliver us and the world from all of our woes, actually LIED when he said during a debate that Ayers was 'just a guy in the neighborhood' that he barely knew?

And if so, why is the mainstream media only now getting around to reporting it?

These are rhetorical questions, of course, the answers to which evoke only the most detestable disdain for the entire lot.

GOP Senators Say Paulson Misled Them on Bailout

Stating that Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson misled them by unilaterally changing the agreed-upon terms of the federal government's bailout of Wall Street, 3 GOP Senators sent a letter to Paulson protesting his decision on Thursday to renege on his pledge to buy up bad debt.

Senators Coburn, Burr, and Vitter are upset that Paulson nixed what they claim is the very heart of the program to get money flowing back into the housing, banking, and mortgage markets.

The GOP had problems with the entire plan from the beginning, but were cajoled to join Democrats in a bi-partisan plan that pleased Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, and John McCain.

However, since that original agreement was made, Paulson has unilaterally decided to purchase a government stake in bank ownership (fascism)--all with the support of Congressional Democrats and Barack Obama--and drop plans to buy out the bad debt which led to the financial crisis to begin with.

The 3 GOP Senators are protesting that decision, stating that the entire agreement is at stake unless Paulson adheres to the original terms.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 11/13/08

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

National Review publishes a chilling article today on the nationalization of the Internet. If the government controls the Internet, they can control content. And guess who's pushing the idea? George Soros, Moveon.org, and the Democrats in Congress.

Mike McCarville reports that Leftwing federal judges are likely under Obama due to the Chairman's statements about the Constitution being 'flawed' because it did not address redistribution of wealth.

The Herald-Sun says that Australia will begin filtering Internet content and blocking over 13,000 websites. The official target is child pornography, but one has to wonder if there isn't another hidden agenda. Beware of powerful government watchdog groups that exercise control over citizens.

JR issues an alert from the Fifty Caliber Institute on a vote this coming Monday in New Jersey to ban the .50 Caliber.

Alphecca says that in light of the fact that liberals claim we conservatives are nutcases, it seems some conservatives have some proof that liberalism is a mental disorder. Read it all.

Armed and Safe has essential reading on Socialism and guns.

From Codrea's War on Guns:
*Giving Him What He Wants
*Mixed Feelings
*Unpublished Opinions

Gun Rights Examiner has today's article by David entitled, 'Another Child Shooting.'

Sebastian comments on the Rahm Emanuel statement that Barack Obama plans to implement the 'civilian national security force.'

Say Uncle has a must-read entitled, 'Race Wars.'

Nicki says it like I like it on the Democrats' latest 'money-suck.' Read it. If you don't, then to use one of Nicki's favorite words, you're a 'douchbag.' ROFL!

West, By God posts today's edition of 'Chicks and Guns.'

Mindful Musings has a great read, entitled, 'Obamanation Countdown--Spot the Looters.'

From Western Rifle Shooters Association:
*Beck: It's About the Values, Not the Prices
*Gordon Brown on a 'universal society'--scary stuff here!
*Desperate Times--essential reading!

Dr. John Lott confirms what I've been saying all along about the Stock Market's nosedive after Obama's election. This is an Obama market, and investors are saying they don't like it. Thus, the nosedive.

Front Sight, Press has an interesting read on the spike in gun permit applications in Boulder County.

An Ol' Broad's Ramblings has a 'mini-Obamarama' that you must see for a good laugh! I love those funnies she posts.

Democrats Want Gov't Ownership of Auto Industry

If Democrats Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid get their way, the federal government will get part ownership in the 'big 3' American automakers in exchange for a financial bailout.

Frank's proposal will be included in a mega-bailout scheme, Part II, proposed by Democrats.

The Feds have already seized partial ownership of banks. Now they want the auto industry as well.

Tell me, is there ANY business in America that is safe from an all-powerful government run amok?

There is a term for the practice of government entering into collaborative partnerships with business as a part owner. It is called fascism, and the best example of it was Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler.

Read the complete story on the Democrats' stunningly brazen proposal HERE.

Update--Senate Showdown in Minnesota

In a fraud-laden race that has seen votes disappear for the Republican candidate, and votes appear out of thin air for the Democratic candidate, the Minnesota Senate race between Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) and Democrat challenger Al Franken is headed for a recount.

Both sides have added teams of attorneys to their arsenals as they prepare to take the fight into the legal system.

If ever there were a case that screams for a thorough investigation, it is this one.

The Democrats want the seat to inch themselves closer to the magic veto-proof 60-member majority in the U.S. Senate, and they have shown they are willing to engage in outright election fraud to do so.

Coleman won. But Franken protested, and several areas within heavily-Democratic precincts suddenly and mysteriously found more votes for Franken.

Franken is still behind, but only by roughly 200 votes.

The official recount of the votes begins on November 19.

Sarah Palin Remains in Top News Headlines

Despite the pronouncement by several members of the mainstream TV media that she would be only a 'brief phenomenon that Americans will quickly grow tired of hearing about,' Sarah Palin remains in the top news headlines.

Palin is now clearly a star of the GOP, perhaps its greatest hope of resurgence, in addition to other rising stars such as Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.

As a fresh face with a fresh voice with a charisma that made John McCain look as if he were nearly a corpse, Palin is still the talk of Washington and the news media.

Even Camille Paglia of Salon.com likes Palin.

And clearly the venom directed at Palin from the entirety of the mainstream media is indicative of a deep-seated fear that she will come back and trounce Obama in 2012, given that her popularity remains incredibly high and she draws massive crowds that rival that of Obama.

Michael Barone joked at one point during the campaign that the reason the mainstream media hated Palin so much is that she failed to abort her Downs Syndrome child.

While such a theory, if it were serious, totally discounts the real reason for the hatred, such a notion may not be quite so far fetched. The Left detests conservative values, such as the sacredness of human life.

But the hardcore Leftists within the movement go much further. They think that it is an unstated assumption that any woman who discovers she has a baby with Downs WILL have an abortion, as if such a move denotes some sort of moral obligation to save society from the costs of caring for the imperfect.

However, it is Palin who deserves the accolades for sending the Left into a frenzy over the fact that she would dare give birth to the imperfect and care for the child lovingly and honorably as any moral, ethical human being would.

If Americans cannot embrace the natural goodness of someone like Sarah Palin, then perhaps we do deserve the government we just voted for ourselves.

As for Palin's frame of mind these days, post-election, she says she is ready to put the brutal Campaign '08 behind her and look forward to 2012.

Stock Market Loses $3 Trillion in 3 Days

Continuing with the pattern set the day after the election of Barack Obama, the stock market has lost a staggering 3 trillion dollars in just 3 days.

The market is already in the worst post-election plunge in U.S. history, but the losses over the past 3 days make other post-election losses pale in comparison.

True, other forces are at work in bringing about the market's woes.

But the election of a new President is also a leading indicator of whether or not Wall Street views the policy proposals of that new President to be financially sound for the economy.

The American people protested loudly and clearly concerning the bailout passed by Congress. And now we have an incoming President who not only embraced that bailout but is proposing even more.

And, as reported today by Forbes, the current price-tag of the bailout, all at taxpayer expense, stands at $5 trillion dollars and counting.

As reported earlier, most of the leading economists in the U.S. believe that the bailout of Wall Street and other large corporations is a terrible idea. Perhaps most investors deep in their heart of hearts believe the same thing.

The Chairman's 'Ethics' Allow Big Money Lobbyists

When Barack Obama was selected as 'the chosen One' by many of the citizens, he determined to bring in Washington outsider ethics reform measures that would exclude lobbyists from the transition process.

Uh, make that all lobbyists except for the big money variety.

The Chairman during the campaign did quite a bit of jaw-boning about Washington ethics or the lack thereof, often citing lobbyists as one of the main problems in politics.

Thus, with great fanfare Obama announced that no lobbyists would be allowed on his transition team that will pave the way for his moving into the Presidency in mid-January.

But according to news reports by several watchdog agencies, Obama will most certainly allow big money contributors to his campaign to become part of his transition team.

Apparently, the Chairman's ethics embrace lobbyists provided they contributed to his campaign, and provided they contributed somewhere in the neighborhood of $4,600--the maximum individual contribution allowed by law--or they helped raise at least $50,000.

5 out of the 12 members of Obama's transition team raised $50,000 a piece for the Chairman, and 8 made the maximum individual contribution allowed by law.

And just wait till you see what the so-called 'bundlers' raised for Obama--some to the tune of 500,000 bucks...and lobbyists all.

In short, Obama has loaded up his staff with those evil, corrupt influence-peddlers he spoke in such condescending terms about during the campaign.

My, what a difference an election makes.

ALERT! Obama's Hit-Man Talks New Security Force

An audio has surfaced which has Obama's new Chief of Staff/hit-man Rahm Emanuel discussing the plan to implement a new national civilian security force that will answer directly to Barack Obama.

The Chairman never provided specific details of the plan on the campaign trail, and the mainstream media never bothered to ask him about it.

But Obama did state that the new security force would be equal to the U.S. military in power and funding.

Rahm Emanuel, you will remember, is the Chicago politician who is famous for slamming his ideological opponents with a vengeance. He once even sent a dead fish to a pollster who made him angry over poll numbers.

It is very clear from the audio that Rahm is talking about much more than citizens providing innocuous 'civil service' in government offices. This is mandatory, and it involves military-like training.

Watch/listen to the audio/video and read the commentary provided here, at Gateway Pundit.

3 TRILLION DOLLARS AND COUNTING

First, it was the bailout of large banking and mortgage firms on Wall Street in order to 'stabilize the economy.' Then, it was the government forcing large banking firms to accept the Federal Government as part owner of those firms.

Then, it was the bailout of the 'average homeowners on Main Street who are about to default on their mortgages.'

But even that wasn't enough.

Next, the government was informed that the auto industry needed tax dollars just like the banking and mortgage firms. Commissar Nancy Pelosi is all for it as is 'The Chairman.'

And then yesterday we learned that American Express has been thrown a tax-dollar lifeline. This required that the definition of the type of business American Express does had to be changed.

So, with a wave of the magic wand, the Federal Government now considers American Express to be a 'bank holding company' that is eligible for millions of dollars of bailout money from the taxpayers.

And let's not forget that Hollywood, insurance companies, and even China, all have their stake in the loot.

But guess who's making noises about wanting some of the taypayer-provided loot now? Big liberal newspapers that are on the brink of bankruptcy due to plummeting subscriptions.

Look for the New York Times and others to go begging the government for a handout.

The total cost of all of this to the taxpayers? 3 TRILLION DOLLARS and counting.

John Lott: Minnesota Election Fraud

An interesting phenomenon is occurring in Minnesota in the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Norm Coleman, the Republican, and Democratic challenger Al Franken.

The day after the election Coleman led Franken by 725 votes. That lead has gradually shrunk to a mere 221 votes, and the change is occurring in a heavily-Democratic precinct.

Where did over 500 Coleman votes go in just a matter of days? And why would it just so happen that all of the discrepancies are happening in one of the most overwhelmingly Democratic precincts in the state?

In fact, it has been determined that the discrepancies can be narrowed down to one town within that precinct--the Democratic stronghold of Two Harbors, a small town north of Duluth.

Dr. John Lott's latest op-ed on Fox News online highlights this phenomenon and says that Minnesota is ripe for election fraud.

The details of this scheme are stunning and make it abundantly clear that the Democrats have made and are making election fraud their primary means to win seats in various races around the country.

'The Chairman' Breaks Presidential Protocol

The pitfalls of electing a completely untested and untried novice to the Presidency abound. But when that novice doesn't even care about those pitfalls, an arrogance emerges that is particularly troublesome.

'The Chairman' Barack Obama met with President Bush on Monday concerning the transition to a new administration.

No sooner had the meeting adjourned than Obama and his minions were out discussing the topics of conversation between Mr. Bush and The Chairman--a conversation that historically has been considered private and confidential.

Are we to expect these blatant violations of protocol to be the order of the day now that 'the Lightworker' has ascended to his throne?

Mr. Bush has by all accounts bent over backwards to keep the transition classy, keeping sacred those time-honored traditions that dictate the behavior between an outgoing President and an incoming President.

Too bad 'The Chairman' will have none of it. He went out and trashed Bush for opposing the bailout of the auto industry--one of the topics discussed in private between the two.

And now there are very hard feelings.

Is this how The Chairman will treat ALL of his ideological opponents? If so, we are in for a disastrous 4 years.

U.S. Congressman Warns of Obama Dictatorship

Citing Barack Obama's stated intention of starting a 'Civilian National Security Force' that answers directly to him, a United States Congressman has warned that the proposal has all of the markings of a Marxist dictatorship.

As we have warned for months, the Obama proposal to create this security force that would have equal funding and status to that of the U.S. Military is a concept born in and implemented by Marxist-Socialist dictatorships throughout the world.

Such a security force was implement by Adolf Hitler in Germany and by Joseph Stalin in the old Soviet Union.

Most if not all of Obama's proposals are a direct assault on freedoms enjoyed by U.S. citizens. In fact, which of the Obama proposals are NOT a threat to liberty?

CBS News/Couric/Schieffer Smear Sarah Palin

As the months pass it is obvious that the Left in this country is scared to death of Sarah Palin.

Perhaps never before in modern history has the leftwing mainstream media, the Democratic Party, and the 'ruling class' of the political elite so thoroughly attempted to discredit, smear, and ruin a candidate for public office.

CBS News has been relentless in its smear campaign against Palin.

But when Bob Schieffer congratulated Katie Couric on her ambush of Palin during her interviews, for me that was the absolute last straw.

Schieffer was droning on about how Palin proved to be a 'lightweight,' a 'drag on the ticket,' and 'a poor choice for a Vice-Presidential running mate.'

None of this, of course, is true.

But when he said the following, I came completely unglued, particularly when I heard Couric's response.

Said Schieffer, 'And frankly, Katie, I say this not because you are sitting here, but the interview you did with Sarah Palin was the turning point in showing the nation the truth about Sarah Palin and the fact that she is unfit to be Vice President.'

Couric smile and stated, 'Ohhh, thank-you!'

Wow.

Schieffer just congratulated Couric on her ambush-smear of Sarah Palin, and Couric is proud of herself for having done so!

The fact of the matter is that the Couric interview with Palin did NOT show the real Sarah Palin. She was sorely mismanaged by inept McCain campaign staffers who should have never put her in front of the anti-conservative Katie Couric.

The real Sarah Palin is the Alaska Governor who enjoyed the highest approval rating of any Governor in the nation, at 80%. The real Sarah Palin is the one who stood up to her own Party, routed out corruption, and faced down the oil companies.

And we saw the real Sarah Palin on the stump drawing massive crowds that rivaled that of Obama, though it was rarely reported in the mainstream media.

I am through with CBS News, Katie Couric, and Bob Schieffer. I can't even stand to look at them or hear their voices. They grate on my nerves.

But this is true with the mainstream media in general.

Thus, I won't even watch them anymore even to provide a critique. I choose to get my news from real reporters who are unbiased. I will NOT get my news from hacks who slant news in favor of one political candidate, and then smear another candidate out of the fear that she may actually be a threat to Obama in 2012.

And believe me, if the gang of thugs who now run the country, including their cheerleaders in the mainstream media, were not frightened out of their wits by Sarah Palin, you can rest assured they would not be conducting this coordinated smear campaign.

And that includes members of John McCain's campaign staff.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 11/10/08

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Michelle Malkin says Obama is 'ready to rule.' Gee, I thought we didn't have 'rulers' in America since we are not a dictatorship, but increasingly Barack Obama and the mainstream media are describing his Presidency in terms of 'ruling' over the citizens. My friends, this is a terrible sign. Do the research and find me one single reference to ANY government official in the U.S., or any branch of government, or even government itself, as 'rule.'

National Holiday for the Obamessiah?

You are not going to believe this, but it's true.

We already have a Presidents' Day. But that's not enough for the zombie-like worshippers of the Obamessiah. They want a national holiday just for Barack Obama.

And we march ever so closer to a dictatorship under the Fuhrer, the 'Chosen One.'

Right vs. Wrong

According to a senior Democratic congressman, the Democrats intend to keep their majority status in the House and Senate in the midterm elections of 2010.

And they intend to do so using an old scheme liberals are prone to unleash in a pinch--the 'moral high road' approach that presupposes the liberal agenda is 'what's right.'

As the congressman stated, 'The next election will not be a matter of the Left vs. the Right, but right vs. wrong.'

In the perverted and convoluted thinking of liberals, it is 'right' to redistribute wealth, to steal from the haves in order to give to the have-nots. It is 'right' to support a woman's 'right' to commit infanticide. It is 'right' to demonize the military and roll over and play dead in the face of those who wish to kill us.

Barack Obama is set to overturn hundreds of Bush executive orders that carry the full weight of law but that require no Congressional action to implement.

According to John Podestra, Obama's transition chief, Obama is set to reverse the Bush ban on embryonic stem cell research, a practice that people with a moral conscience view as tantamount to killing a baby. Stem cell research can be conducted successfully using stem cells other than embryonic.

But liberals and abortion supporters believe that somehow using the embryonic variety is a absolute necessity about which there can be no disagreement.

In addition, Obama is set to reverse the Bush executive order banning foreign aid to those countries that support abortion. But of course, now that we have a supporter of infanticide who will occupy the White House, there is no problem supporting such measures.

Podestra says that Obama is also considering reversing a Bush executive order that allows for oil and natural gas drilling in Utah.

This is no surprise.

Despite election-year pandering designed to fool the public into believing otherwise, the Democrats and Obama have a long history of strong opposition to ANY oil drilling here at home...not just on the outer continental shelf offshore but anywhere else in America.

During the general campaign, Obama abandoned his long-held position of opposing drilling for oil and natural gas here in America. He claimed he would support oil and natural gas drilling, the latter being our nation's most abundant source of energy.

But now that he has been chosen by the public, it seems this pandering to the vast majority of Americans who wish to use our own natural resources is out the window, gone with the wind.

Many of us, like voices crying in the wilderness, warned that this is exactly what would happen.

How, I ask, can ANY of this be perceived as 'right' or 'moral'?

Liberals, particularly of the Christian variety in mainline denominations, use the Bible to proof-text their belief in 'Robin Hood' principles.

The problem is that Jesus never gave any indication whatsoever that his admonitions to help the poor, feed the hungry, and heal the sick had anything to do with government. In fact, in that era of history, the Jews were totally powerless to effect government policy within the Roman Empire.

In short, unless individuals did it, it would not get done.

It is clear that Jesus' words were directed to individuals who can voluntarily give out of their abundance to those in need.

But it is also abundantly clear that for government to use the power of force (taxation) to take money from its citizens in order to give to others is stealing--robbery. And not only is that immoral, it is a crime for which someone should be immediately arrested.

If the Democrats are set to win again in the midterm elections of 2010, the 'right vs. wrong' argument won't be very effective, for it is clear they are on the wrong side morally, ethically, and legally...that is, unless the majority of Americans now believe along with liberals that what has been considered immoral for 99% of the history of the human race is suddenly 'right.'

Mark Steyn: 'Death of the American Idea'

Having come close to being thrown into prison in Canada for merely speaking his mind about the dangers of militant Islam in Europe, Mark Steyn knows a thing or two about human liberty and just how fragile that liberty can be, even in Western democratic societies.

While a so-called 'Human Rights Tribunal' in British Columbia narrowly exonerated Steyn for exercising free speech, the question is why should this trial have taken place in a supposed 'free' society to begin with? And, how much longer will it be before America falls prey to the very same mindset?

According to Steyn, it won't be that long.

America, he says, took a turn toward the Left in this election. And, regardless of how we may try to rationalize it all away by our explanations of what went wrong, somehow we allow government to gain more control over our lives, little by little, year by year.

Can you imagine, asks Steyn, President William McKinley in 1898 even conceiving of the possibility that one day in America one Presidential candidate would be proposing giving a tax rebate check to over 40 million Americans who pay no taxes, and the other Presidential candidate proposing a government bailout of individuals who fail to make their mortgage payments?

I can go even further. Can you imagine in the early 1900s Teddy Roosevelt conceiving of a day in America when a President-elect had at one time proposed a complete ban on all handguns in America?

Yet here we are. We should not even be having these discussions in America. But we have gradually given away our rights to be point to where the opponents of human liberty feel free to openly discuss infringing on the rights specifically named and protected in the Constitution.

Read Mark Steyn's 'Death of the American Idea' and seriously ponder over what, exactly, brought us to this point in America where so many of our fellow citizens believe it is incumbent upon them to place limitations on rights recognized and guaranteed by the Constitution.

Even in my lifetime, I remember a day in America when these issues were settled because we were free. There was no mention of ANY possibility of limitations or infringements on our God-given rights.

So, my friends, how did we get to this point? What plan of action, what tactical decisions were made that led to the present crisis of liberty?

I have my ideas, but many won't like them. Compromising with the individuals who are clearly anti-freedom did us no good whatsoever. In fact, the opposite took place. The compromises we thought would help us gain ground only served to strengthen the enemies of liberty and weaken the resolve of the electorate to fight them.

The Chris Dodd Mortgage Scandal

Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit has the latest information on the Chris Dodd mortgage scandal.

As reported previously during the campaign, Senator Chris Dodd and other top Democrats, including Barack Obama, are knee-deep in the mortgage scandal that resulted in our economy being brought to the brink of disaster.

As for Dodd, the feds are now investigating the Senator's ties to criminal activity in the Countrywide Mortgage debacle.

It has been difficult, however, for the feds to gain any traction in their investigations into possible illegal activity on the part of Dodd, Obama, Rangle, Barney Frank, and other top Democrats due to the fact that the lunatics are running the asylum (Congress).

The worst-case scenario, which is entirely possible, would be the discovery AFTER the election that not only Obama but dozens of Democrats in Congress share culpability in the mortgage and banking scandal that led to the financial crisis.

If this turns out to be the case, the mainstream media would find it impossible to avoid reporting it as they did during the campaign.

Wouldn't it be odd to discover that Americans elected to office a gang of criminals due to the fact that the mainstream media refused to publicize what they knew behind the scenes?

After all, they admitted they were biased, but it was all 'for the good of the country.' Sure.

From Kurt Hofmann: 'Holding the Line'

Kurt Hofmann of Armed and Safe posted an important piece of commentary yesterday from the 1911 forum that urges us not to give our opponents the impression that we are resigned to accept proposals in the coming years that attempt to place limits on our liberties.

A defeatist attitude will only embolden our opponents who are determined to infringe on 2nd Amendment rights in addition to 1st Amendment rights.

The commentary is entitled, 'Holding the Line,' and it contains vital information on what to do now that we are in the political wilderness.

I consider the information here to be vital reading for those who wish to be successful in turning the rhetoric to our advantage.

We will never give up. We will fight to the end to preserve liberty.

Democrats Discuss Seizing Private Retirement Accounts

The Democrats who now control 2 of the 3 major branches of government are discussing the possibility of seizing the private retirement accounts of the citizens.

401Ks would be targeted for confiscation and absorbed under the Social Security Administration.

Under the guise of 'protecting citizens from the current losses in the stock market,' the Democrats would rob Americans of their right to maintain their own private or employer-funded accounts in order to place big government in control.

But don't look for them to stop there.

IRAs would also become a target of the money-hungry liberals who are now firmly in control of government.

Our 401Ks and IRAs would simply be confiscated (stolen) with or without our permission, and the money would be placed in government coffers.

Clearly, this is an example of nanny-statism at its worst as the Democrats decide that we, the peons of the masses, do not have sense enough to manage our own financial affairs, and therefore, they must step in and 'protect us' from ourselves.

My friends, those of you who voted for this gang of thugs are about to wake up from your drunken stupor and realize you are getting ready to be hosed. We ALL are going to be hosed.

My suggestion? Drop 'em, bend over, and grab 'em, because we are getting ready to be screwed.

Stocks Lose 7% of Value Since Election Day

In the largest election week decline in U.S. history, the stock market lost 7% of its value in the first 3 days after the vote.

Even the election of Herbert Hoover in 1929, Franklin Roosevelt in 1932 at the beginning of the Great Depression, and Jimmy Carter in 1976 did not match the decline following Barack Obama's election.

Reuters News Service provides a table of market activity showing the gains and losses in the stock market in the week following every election since William McKinley in 1896.

The only other Presidential election in history that came close to matching the losses in the market following the election of Obama was that of Harry Truman in 1948.

That week in 1948 following Truman's victory, the market lost 6% of its value.
