DEMS LIE TO AMERICAN PEOPLE ON HEALTHCARE

Just yesterday we saw a graphic display of just how scandalous the House Democratic leadership can be when committee chair Henry Waxman threatened to move to a floor vote on the government takeover of healthcare that very same day.

Conservative 'blue dog' Democrats were outraged and stormed out of a special meeting with Waxman, stating that he had 'lied to them' that they were merely trying to 'save their Party.'

As if this were not enough, White House henchman Rahm Emanuel told reporters yesterday afternoon that in spite of announcing to the public that there would be no vote on the healthcare legislation until the Fall, the House Democratic leadership is, indeed, planning a vote next week--BEFORE the recess.

From NPR:

The House of Representatives does plan to vote on health legislation before leaving for its August recess, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel told NPR.

Emerging from several hours of meetings Thursday with House leaders, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Emanuel told NPR's Steve Inskeep that "their intention is to go next week and she is working toward that goal."

So much for open, honest, ethical, and transparent government...

Obama Hit-Man Slam Dunks Israel

Obama's Chicago-trained 'hit-man' Rahm Emanuel disclosed to a PAC the Obama administration's new foreign policy initiative toward Israel--hold the Jewish state hostage to Iranian nukes unless it agrees to Palestinian demands in the quest for Middle East peace.

This explosive and unconscionable development is discussed in my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Don't let this one get past you. This is a highly dangerous development that signals the U.S. is now siding with the terrorists unless Israel 'does what it is told.'

Obama's Politburo Creates a 'Pravda'

In a scenario eerily reminiscent of the old Communist Party's official propaganda machine in the USSR, Barack Obama's 'politburo' has created a 'Pravda' of its own.

It seems that the Obama machine is in collusion with certain influential reporters in the mainstream media, so much so that daily phone conferences are held with 4 of the talking heads to coordinate their 'talking points' to make Obama look good.

Not surprisingly, on any given day, the members of Obama's Pravda all mouth the very same talking points on issues as they report from their home base, whether it be NBC or CNN, or others.

And you have to give them credit. It's working. The American public has been dumbed down so much they don't know the difference for the most part. But this is not the job of journalists!

When journalists engage in this type of coordinated effort to push the agenda of the political block in power, they have immediately ceased to function as journalists and have taken up the mantle of the purveyors of propaganda, just as the old Pravda did for the Commies.

This unconscionable tactic on the part of 'reporters' such as NBC's George Stephanopoulos, and CNN's Paul Begala and James Carville, is to be resoundingly condemned by any and all serious journalists.

And, of course, the coordinator for all of this under-the-table manipulation of the media is none other than Rahm Emanuel.

Read the entire nauseating report HERE.

'Lie Down with Dogs, Get Up with Fleas'

I have a guest blogger today who does a great job over at Kharma Futures. Here, Rev. Kharma examines the nature of the corrupt Chicago Political Machine and its tendency to infect everyone who touches it.

Lie Down with Dogs, Get Up with Fleas
Posted by revkharma on February 19, 2009

Let’s take a quick walk around the cesspool known as Chicago Style Politics. We don’t even need to go to the roots of the Daley machine. To get a feel of how things can become totally corrupted, we can look at just a couple of offices in the Illinois congressional delegation. Remember Dan Rostenkowski. a loud, pushy congressman from Illinois who was eventually indicted and convicted for fraud in relation to the House Post Office corruption scam. After he went to jail (incidentally keeping his deluxe House of Representatives pension) his seat was filled by a place holder then was filled by none other than Rod Blagojevich. Rod went back to the Land of Lincoln, where he tried to sell the US senate seat vacated by the Great and Powerful Obama. He eventually appointed Roland Burris. Now Burris is being investigated for perjury, as it appears he was less than candid when testifying before Blago’s impeachment committee. He somehow forgot that he had several conversations with the Gov’s brother about rounding up some cash for ‘campaign funds’. Seems his memory was refreshed when it looks as if the FBI has tapes of the conversations.

Loop back again.. Blagojevic was succeeded by Rahm Emanuel. He of the ‘ take advantage of a crisis’ fame. A fierce fighter, he is reputed to be a vicious bully witha long memory and longer reach for revenge.

Blago has long standing ties to Tony Rezko, A felon convicted on corruption charges. Rezko bundled millions of dollars of contributions for Blagojevich, and many of his associates later found jobs in state government. Rezko also has long standing ties to The Great and Powerful Obama. There has still never been any in depth look at the connection, but one look at the real estate deal that resulted to Obama owning the lot adjacent to Rezko will show just how easily corruption can be swept under the rug.

So, let’s look here, Rostenkowski, Burris, Blagojevich, Emanuel, Obama. All these dogs seem to lie in the same pen, and my guess is that all of them share the same fleas. I just want to know why no one seems willing to do something about the fleas jumping all about the Great and Powerful Obama.

He has surrounded himself for years with many corrupt people. One look at the fiasco that is his cabinet will clue anyone in. How many people either stepped down or withdrew nominations because of corrupt practices? Even his Treasury Secretary admitted to non payment of his taxes, but the Great O managed to slip him in anyway. Just how long will his dishonesty and outright corruption go unremarked in the media?

Keep the Faith
The Rev

Latest Political Buzz from Inside the Beltway

Rumors are flying all over Washington, DC about possible tax problems for none other than Rahm Emanuel, Obama's White House Chief of Staff.

It is also rumored that ABC News correspondent George Stephanopolis, a friend of Emanuel's, is fully aware of the tax problems but refuses to report it.

If the allegations are true, this would be yet another embarrassing episode for the Obama administration that has been riddled, battered, and shamed by a string of Cabinet nominees with serious personal tax issues.

It would also be another example of a media that covers for the mistakes and ethical lapses of Obama and his administration.

Geller: Dems Sacrificed Blago Because 'He Knows Too Much'

Suppose the entire scenario of the Rod Blagojevich impeachment case in Illinois is an attempt by some very powerful people to silence the former Governor.

This is precisely what Pamela Geller asserts.

We know already that Blago had extensive contact with Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel over the vacant Senate seat. We know that Obama's top aides have been called as witnesses.

Let's say that Blago knows too much...that he is fully aware of who shot Joe and where Joe is buried. And let's say that this knowledge implicates some people at the very top in government.

It is not very far-fetched to postulate a theory that one of the reasons Blago was quickly thrown under the bus, in spite of deep corruption on the part of others in government, was to discredit him and therefore, shut him up, or at least make his words less trustworthy.

A very telling feature of the entire fiasco was the fact that Blago, in making his rounds to the various TV outlets prior to his removal from office, repeatedly called for the testimony of Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, and others in the Obama administration and in Illinois government.

I have a hunch that the powers-that-be are scared to death of what Blago knows. I simply want to know what, exactly, they don't want to be disclosed to the public.

And if I were Blago, I would hire me an extra body-guard or two...

Landmines Within the Nuggets of Truth

While Obama was vacationing in Hawaii, while Congress was on Christmas recess, and while Rahm Emanuel was on his way out of the country, the long-awaited internal report on contacts between the Obama team and corrupt Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was released.

It is no coincidence that the report was released at just the right time for it to receive minimal attention from the American public and little reaction from politicians.

Under normal conditions this would be a major indication that something was in the report that is embarrassing and/or damaging to Obama and company.

As it turns out there are numerous potential landmines in the report that could spell deep trouble ahead for the President-elect, although the report claims that no inappropriate contact took place.

We must remember that this was an internal review conducted by the Obama team's legal counsel. The report is not an official investigative analysis conducted by the federal prosecutor.

Thus, in essence, the report is nothing more than the Obama team exonerating itself.

Yet the report had to contain enough factual information that can be corroborated by the federal prosecutor so as not to appear too eager to claim innocence in the midst of enormous guilt and so as not to lead to charges of perjury.

And there are plenty of nuggets of truth in the report to suggest that something is terribly amiss within the Obama camp.

For example:

...Obama and several aids were interviewed by the federal prosecutor concerning possible connections between the Obama camp and the scandal involving Rod Blagojevich...

...Obama claimed that he had no contact at all with Blago concerning his vacant Senate seat, and in fact stated that he would take a 'hands off' approach to his replacement in the Senate. Yet the report admits that Obama authorized Rahm Emanuel to suggest the names of his preferred replacements to Blago and/or his staff...

...Federal prosecutors played for Emanuel a segment of their surveillance tapes of conversations between Emanuel and Blagojevich, suggesting that the Feds needed to remind Emanuel that they had significant evidence...

...Although the report states that Emanuel had 'one or two' conservations with Blago and 4 more conversations with Blago's aids, earlier reports from the Feds suggest that Emanuel actually had 21 separate conservations with Blago and his staff.

The transcripts of those taped conversations have not been made public, nor do we know for sure if they will ever be. It would be assumed that once a formal indictment is issued against Blagojevich the transcripts of the tapes could then be made available.

But once again it has become abundantly clear that until we see the full transcripts of the tapes and are made aware of all of the evidence the federal prosecutor has amassed, we are no closer to finding out the real truth than we were prior to the release of the report.

In fact, each time the Obama team issues a report or makes comments about the entire matter, we are left with nothing but more questions.

BREAKING: Report Released, Admits Rahm Had Contact

An internal review prepared for President-elect Barack Obama says his incoming chief of staff had multiple conversations with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's office, but no one close to Obama suspected that the governor might be trying to sell Obama's Senate seat as prosecutors allege.

The report on inappropriate contacts between the Obama camp and the office of corrupt Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has finally been released this afternoon at 4:30 PM ET.

Within the report prepared for Obama is an admission that Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel had multiple contacts with Blagojevich.

Fox News provides the details.

UPDATE: At first glance the report appears to contradict what the Obama camp and VP Joe Biden have been saying as late as this morning, that at the most Rahm Emanuel may have had one conversation with Blago, but not concerning the vacant Senate seat.

The Feds still have not released the content of surveillance tapes of some 21 different conversations Rahm had with Blagojevich.

UPDATE 2: The Washington Times has released its story on the report. More contradictory statements to the effect that Obama had no contact with the Governor at all and that Emanuel spoke with Blago only 3 or 4 times, including calls to Blago's staff. Still more questions raised concerning earlier reports from the Feds.

UPDATE 3: Fox News contributor Mary Katharine Ham provides insightful commentary at The Weekly Standard.

UPDATE 4: The report says that Obama authorized Rahm Emanuel to pass along to Governor Rod Blagojevich the names of persons Obama preferred for his vacant Senate seat. So, where the heck is Obama's supposed 'hands off' approach to filling the vacant seat???

Rahm, What's the Frequency?

Shortly after Dan Rather took over for the retiring Walter Cronkite at CBS News in the early 1980s, Rather was accosted by an assailant near his home in New York City.

Rather reported that as he neared his Manhattan home, a man approached him and asked, 'Kenneth, what's the frequency?,' upon which the man proceeded to beat Rather to a pulp.

The CBS anchorman sustained some minor injuries from the encounter, as I recall.

The Barack Obama team has been sitting on a special report into alleged improper contacts between the Obama camp and the beleaguered Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

Supposedly at the request of the U.S. Justice Department, the Obama team has delayed the release of the report until just prior to Christmas--at the very time when Obama himself is out of Washington on holiday in Hawaii and the D.C. political establishment has vacated the premises for Christmas.

It is widely expected that the report, scheduled for release today, will receive the Obama spin, claiming no improper contact between the 2 camps. But the devil will be in the details.

The Wall Street Journal speculates that the report will raise more questions than it answers, sending reporters scattering off to chase down dozens of tangents.

In the end, however, someone is gonna get slammed.

At present my tendency is to believe that Rahm Emanuel will be thrown under the bus when this entire mess is finally unraveled.

It is entirely unrealistic to believe that Obama's staff had no contact with Blagojevich's office concerning Obama's vacated Senate seat, which Blago had placed for sale to the highest bidder. These are all Chicago political establishment pros. And we all know the scoop on the nature of the Chicago political machine.

Obama is not about to take any responsibility for any improper contact with Blago as the Governor faces an uphill battle in the corruption probe that surrounds him.

Thus, the next logical choice is Rahm Emanuel, Obama's chief of staff and Chicago political insider.

Whether Rahm realizes it or not, he may be very very close to being politically pulverized. The next voice he hears may well be, 'Hey, bub, what's the frequency?'

He Said, He Said, They Said

I notice that a report at ABC News claims that Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel supposedly made only one call to corrupt Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, and even then the call had nothing to do with Obama's vacant Senate seat.

Blago, on the other hand, claims through his aids that he regularly took calls from Emanuel.

Looks like a clear case of he said, he said.

Except for one small consideration.

They said, that is, the FBI, that surveillance tapes reveal at least 21 conversations between the 2 concerning the vacant Senate seat and other political matters.

If these tapes do, in fact, exist, then perhaps the only thing that will matter is the content of the tapes. This will determine if a clear connection can be established between Blago's attempt to sell the Senate seat and the Obama team.

Obama Cuts Off Reporter, Lies About Senate Seat

In a rare moment of true journalism in today's world, a reporter asked Barack Obama a question that gets to the heart of the issue of the vacant Senate seat-Blagojevich-Emanual scandal: Obama's lies.

Obama stated early on that he was going to take a 'hands off' approach to the choice of his replacement in the Senate, yet proceeded to talk directly to Blagojevich about the choice, and then word came today that his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel talked to Blago 21 times about the seat.

Somebody, obviously, in addition Blagojevich is not being truthful here.

The truth must hurt. The video below shows Obama cutting off the reporter's question, lecturing him about 'not wasting his question.' Obama is clearly irked.

Take a look at a video clip from that news conference here.

Blago-Scandal May 'Ruin Obama's Inauguration'

Like the gradual creep of a sinkhole that just keeps engulfing more and more homes and vehicles as it goes along, the scandal involving Illinois Governor Rod Blaogjevich inches along, now threatening to engulf Obama along with it.

Word has come today that the Feds have secret surveillance tapes directly implicating Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.

We know now that Obama lied when he claimed neither he nor his staff had anything to do with his replacement in the U.S. Senate.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, the reason the Illinois Attorney-General moved to strip Blogojevich of his powers is in order to avoid a public impeachment process, during which even more names could surface who are involved in the scandal--including the Attorney-General herself, who was a possible candidate for Obama's Senate seat!

One reporter stated that this still-developing story of the unraveling of Chicago political corruption would eventually 'ruin Obama's inauguration.'

A Bad Case of Lockjaw

In refusing to answer reporters' questions concerning the Blago-scandal in Illinois, Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel epitomized the tactic the Obama team will use in the midst of this mess--a bad case of lockjaw.

'Stonewalling' is what they called it during the Nixon Watergate scandal back in the early 70s.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times:
President-elect Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, refused to take questions from reporters this morning about whether he was the Obama “advisor” named in the criminal complaint against Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

The complaint states Blagojevich wanted a promise of a high-level appointment or some other reward for Blagojevich in exchange for Blagojevich naming Obama’s friend Valerie Jarrett to replace him in the U.S. Senate.

Emanuel was uncharacteristically absent from Obama’s news conference this morning.

Although there is no evidence as of yet implicating Obama or any member of his team in the scandal, the discrepancies in the stories provided by the Obama team, along with increasing suspicions concerning Emanuel's possible involvement, are creating new questions every day.

Obama's True Colors Lie Beneath Radar Screen

Over the past few days I have been literally sickened by the the chorus of supposedly 'conservative' voices lauding Barack Obama for his 'moderate' Cabinet choices.

Larry Kudlow of National Review is pleased. Peggy Noonan is pleased. George Will is pleased.

And to add insult to injury, the 'Beltway Boys' on Fox News, Fred Barnes and Mort Kandracke, actually stated with a straight face Saturday afternoon that Obama was 'moving to the right.'

I hate to rain on your parade, boys, but balderdash. I see Murdoch and Ailes have gotten to you as well with his 'lay off of Obama' directive.

Obama is clearly NOT moving to the center or the right, despite how things appear with some of his Cabinet choices. There are more than enough wild-eyed Leftwing ideologues around to more than make up for the so-called 'centrists' in the Cabinet.

Obama's true colors are shining through in his under-the-radar screen selections of personnel who will form his White House Staff and political advisers.

He has chosen a hatchet man of the Left, Rahm Emanuel, for his Chief of Staff, and ultra-liberal gun-grabber Eric Holder as his Attorney-General.

But perhaps one of the most telling and disturbing actions of all on the part of Obama is the recent re-hiring of rabid anti-Israel demagogue Samantha Power.

Power had resigned from the Obama campaign after she referred to Hillary Clinton as a 'mobster.'

She has also called for the U.S. to invade Israel to force a settlement with the Palestinians.

Darkblog has much more on the thinking of Power and her boss, Barack Obama, HERE.

Needless to say, the Leftist radicalism inherent in the Barack Obama phenomenon is flying beneath the radar screen, but it is still there. While the media and the public focus on the 'centrist' and supposedly 'brilliant' Cabinet choices, behind the scenes Obama is loading up his White House staff and political advisory positions with the extremists who have defined his Leftist political ideology the entirety of his career.

Obama Warns of Loss of Millions of Jobs

'The Chairman' announced yesterday that the U.S. could see the loss of millions of jobs in the coming months.

And I was led to believe by Obama, the Democrats, and President Bush that this was the very scenario the gargantuan government bailout of Wall Street was supposed to prevent.

As it turns out, investors are not particularly impressed with government meddling after all.

But we can fully expect government meddling to continue under Obama. This is the very scenario that allows Leftists such as The Chairman to come swooping in to 'save the day' after convincing Americans that only the government can solve the problems in the economy.

Uninformed citizens the world over always fall for Leftist propaganda when nations face hard economic times. The most oppressive and dangerous governments ever to exist on earth were precipitated by deep economic upheaval.

Russia prior to the Bolshevik Revolution, Cuba before the Castro takeover, and Germany before Hitler and the Nazis all stand as modern examples of this phenomenon. The country sinks into dire economic and social upheaval. A silvery-tongued orator arises that promises hope and change and better days.

The people follow blindly, only to find that once such silvery-tongue orators are firmly ensconced in power, their true colors emerge.

Thus, in Russia 25 million citizens are slaughtered by the new Communist regime. In Cuba, Castro uses Che Guevara to systematically murder thousands of Cubans who resist the new Communist dictatorship. And in Germany, Hitler and the Nazis arrest, imprison, and murder 6 million Jews and 5 million political dissidents.

Obama has come to power midst the most troubled economic times since Jimmy Carter. But even then the government did not react by seizing partial ownership of banks, bailing out large corporations, or considering ownership in U.S. automakers, which even then were plagued by poor quality products and heavy competition from Japan.

Even FDR didn't try to do these things in the midst of the Great Depression.

But, The Chairman is dependent on crisis to consolidate power. Thus, the 'crisis' is made to sound worse than it is, courtesy of his new Pravda--the mainstream media. Dire warnings must be issued of the loss of 'millions of jobs' unless big government comes to the rescue.

And to those who may think I am engaging in more Obama-phobia or hysteria, I would remind you that The Chairman's own new Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, candidly stated several months ago that it would be silly to allow a golden opportunity like an economic nosedive to slip by them.

Such dire financials straits, said Emanuel, are the perfect opportunity for Leftists, or 'progressives' as they are now called, to seize more government power and vastly expand the role of government in our daily lives.

In short, the present economic downturn is coldly viewed in purely political terms and is nothing more than an excuse for statists to seize more control of the country and limit more of our liberties.
