The Democrats and the Obama Administration have ulterior motives for falsely accusing Dick Cheney of 'misleading Congress' and 'failing to inform Congress of a secret operation he implemented in the War on Terror.'
By floating out this entirely preposterous 'red herring' to see how much traction it gains, the Dems hope to reach 2 critical goals.

John Lott: Minnesota Election Fraud
An interesting phenomenon is occurring in Minnesota in the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Norm Coleman, the Republican, and Democratic challenger Al Franken.
The day after the election Coleman led Franken by 725 votes. That lead has gradually shrunk to a mere 221 votes, and the change is occurring in a heavily-Democratic precinct.
Where did over 500 Coleman votes go in just a matter of days? And why would it just so happen that all of the discrepancies are happening in one of the most overwhelmingly Democratic precincts in the state?
In fact, it has been determined that the discrepancies can be narrowed down to one town within that precinct--the Democratic stronghold of Two Harbors, a small town north of Duluth.
Dr. John Lott's latest op-ed on Fox News online highlights this phenomenon and says that Minnesota is ripe for election fraud.
The details of this scheme are stunning and make it abundantly clear that the Democrats have made and are making election fraud their primary means to win seats in various races around the country.

Milwaukee Discontinues Voter Fraud Unit
Strange. Strange, indeed.
Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit links to a story in the Wall Street Journal today about the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin pulling the plug on its special 5-man voter fraud unit, just prior to a national election in which there have been numerous reported instances of voter fraud.
The cop in charge of the unit was told by city officials not to send officers to any polling area. He was also told his unit was being disbanded.
Apparently, Milwaukee doesn't want to risk the corruption of the Obama campaign and their supporters coming to light.

Growing Less Optimistic
As we grow ever so closer to Election Day I will have to say that I am growing less optimistic of late. My faith in the American people is at an all-time low ebb.
Barack Obama seems to be gaining in the polls although he and Joe Biden would be a trainwreck for the country.
But, of course, the way the electorate sees it, they would elect Hugo Chavez to the White House as long as he were not a Republican. But put a 'D' beside his name, and he would be a shoo-in in spite of the fact that he is a Communist thug.
The economy, of course, is the culprit. Perceptions mean everything to the electorate, and in their minds a complete novice like Obama would be better 'for the economy.' But to thinking people, such 'reasoning' simply does not compute.
This is how Fidel Castro came to power in Cuba, bringing his style of Communism with him. He made it all about 'making lives better for the average Cuban.' Never mind that he would take away all of your rights. He will give you free medical care!
Wow, he understands the common people! He understands my problems!
Democrats in this country have succeeded in convincing the electorate that Republicans are responsible for the troubles of the country, although that premise is a lie. But perceptions mean everything, remember? No matter how irrational or asinine the premise, it is all about perception in this age of dumbed-down zombies who listen to talking head teleprompter readers on evening news broadcasts.
Thus, the 'throw the bums out' mentality doesn't extend to thugs like Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Rangel, or known law-breakers like William Jefferson. Their colossal failures and contributions to the problems, some of them even engaging in illegal behavior that should wind them up in prison, is of no concern to the electorate. Their number one concern is to throw out Republicans, good or bad.
So, for today, and maybe for tomorrow, I am not optimistic about the future of the country in general or the election in particular.
Time to think more seriously about the contingency plan.

Pelosi: 'Don't Blame Us'
When asked about the circumstances that led to the present crisis in the banking and loan industries, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said of the Democrat-controlled Congress, 'Don't blame us.'
Excuse me, Madame Speaker, but, why not?
Congress, not the President, controls the purse strings of the American economy from a regulatory standpoint. This means that the buck stops with Congress when it comes to monetary policy.
The Democrats have controlled both Houses of Congress for 2 years. This is plenty enough time for policies to be implemented or discontinued that would have drastic implications for the state of the economy.
And we can rest assured the Democrats will blame the President for the entire scenario.
Congress, however, is at least twice as much to blame as the President for failing to do its job in making sure everyone plays by the same rules and that there are no underhanded dealings in the financial markets that could negatively impact the economy. Not only did Congressional Democrats do nothing about these crucial issues but they directly contributed to the problem.
The Democrats in Congress are up to their eyeballs in scandal revolving around cozy relationships with the top officials of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae--all of which led to personal gain. Do the names Patrick Leahy, Barack Obama, and Charles Rangel ring any bells?
And these represent only the tip of the iceberg. Dozens of Democrats have had their hands in the cookie jar in under-the-table deals concerning high-end loans and mortgages--the very thing that led to the present crisis.
The Democrats will not investigate these scandals, however, because it is an election year, and they know that dozens will be implicated, included their own Presidential nominee.
Thus, Madame Speaker, at the end of the day, who else is to blame if not you?
