Media coverage of Trayvon Martin death reveals wide disparity

A survey of media coverage, conducted by this reporter over the past five days, of the Trayvon Martin death in Florida reveals a wide disparity of details which has more than likely contributed to confusion on the part of the public concerning the facts of the case.
Martin's death occurred all the way back on February 26. Yet numerous individuals have stated to this reporter on social networking sites that they thought the incident occurred early last week due to the manner in which the media suddenly appeared to blare the news of the case all over the airwaves.
The major news outlets in fact did not begin reporting the incident until well known civil rights leaders began to stir up emotions based upon their opinion that Martin's death occurred as a result of racial hatred.
Early in the coverage, local media outlets in particular seems to play up the racial angle. That meme was later picked up by the mainstream media, which referred to a 'nationwide public outcry' against the alleged shooter, George Zimmerman, and the Sanford, Florida police department.

Trouble for ObamaCare at the Supreme Court

The ObamaCare healthcare reform law ran into trouble today at the U.S. Supreme Court as several justices focused on the mandate to require all Americans to purchase medical insurance.
Justices Alito, Scalia, Kennedy, and Roberts indicated that such a mandate breaks new ground and would forever change the relationship between government and its citizens.
CNN went as far as to describe today's hearings as a 'trainwreck' for ObamaCare.
Of concern to the conservative justices on the Court is the law's requirement that citizens enter a market--the medical insurance market--which the commerce clause was never intended to address if one is serious about original intent. Never in the history of the Republic has the clause been used to justify the federal government's forcing citizens to make purchases that they may not wish to make.

Jackson calls for repeal of self defense laws in wake of Trayvon Martin death

In the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting in Sanford, Florida, Rev. Jesse Jackson yesterday called for the repeal of self defense laws, such as the 'Stand Your Ground' statute in Florida that allows citizens leeway in the use of firearms to protect their lives and property.
Jackson made the remarks during an address before an African American congregation yesterday in Eatonville, Florida, which is located 20 miles from the Martin shooting.
According to the Miami Herald, Jackson referred to Trayvon Martin as a 'martyr' and likened the spilling of his blood to that of Jesus Christ. Using the familiar hymn on the death of Christ entitled, There's Power in the Blood, as his theme, Jackson declared, "There's power in the blood of Emmett Till! There's Power in the blood of Medgar Evers! There's power in the blood of Dr. King!"
Jackson then called for the repeal of Stand Your Ground, stating that the law prevented police from placing under arrest George Zimmerman, who allegedly shot Martin while fulfilling his duties as a community watch volunteer.

GOP operative says no rules violations in Missouri caucuses

A GOP operative who helped spearhead a major rules change at the National Republican Committee in 2010 states that as far as he can tell, the Missouri caucuses did not engage in any rules violations as some have charged.
Mike Ridgway, a former Ron Paul supporter who has been helping the Rick Santorum campaign, told this reporter last evening that the reason Santorum got short changed in the awarding of delegates in Missouri is that the Paul and Romney camps are better trained at following party rules.
Missouri's Republican Primary, which is held in February, is non binding. No delegates are awarded as a result of that vote. Delegates are awarded at county caucus meetings, which were held around the state on March 16. And the rules concerning how county caucuses go about awarding delegates appear confusing and even tricky to the untrained eye.

Breaking: source at DOJ leaks documents in Fast and Furious scandal

Citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh, who first broke the Fast and Furious scandal story in December 2010, is reporting this afternoon that a source inside the Justice Department has leaked a series of documents to Congressional officials who are investigating the scandal.
The leak would be a major break in the case and would fuel an escalation in the investigation into the scandal in which the Obama Administration placed U.S. guns directly into the hands of Mexican criminals in order to make a case for new gun control laws.

Freedom under attack from multiple sources

In an indication that certain opportunists may be seeking to attack freedom, activists in the Trayvon Martin death case in Florida have now initiated a movement to rescind Georgia's Stand Your Ground self-defense law that allows citizens leeway in using firearms to defend their lives and homes.
Florida has a similar law, although law enforcement officials and legal experts have stated that the circumstances of the Martin case have nothing to do with the Stand Your Ground bill.
However, restricting the Second Amendment rights of citizens to use guns to protect their lives and property has been proved to have no effect on crime and violence in America...

Breaking: Missouri caucus results indicate possible malfeasance

There is breaking news out of Missouri this evening as the former Assistant Majority Leader of the Missouri House of Representatives reports possible malfeasance in the results of the state Republican caucuses last week.
Tonight this reporter received a memo from Mark Wright, a member of the Greene County Republican Central Committee and former state legislator, who stated that the campaigns of Mitt Romney and Ron Paul apparently succeeded in stripping Rick Santorum of his rightful number of delegates based upon the vote in the GOP primary which was held in February.

MSNBC host blames Trayvon Martin death on free speech

In yet another example of how quickly liberals seize horrible tragedies to advance their agenda, an MSNBC host blamed the recent Trayvon Martin death in Florida on free speech as exercised by conservatives.
Karen Finney, a Democratic strategist who was filling in for Martin Bashir on MSNBC, blamed Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney for the shooting of the young African American teenager by a Hispanic community watch volunteer.
A video of Finney's remarks can be viewed here.

Time to Sound the Alarm--This Is No Drill

The time has come, I feel, to sound the alarm concerning the status of America as a free nation under the Constitution. Many warnings have gone out before, alerting citizens to the coming danger. For years some of us have been sounding those warning bells. Now, however, the danger is very present and the time has come to ratchet up the threat level from warning bells to the all-out alarm for immediate danger.

I had considered writing this up for an Examiner article. But on further reflection I decided that The Liberty Sphere was the most appropriate vehicle through which to communicate the following information. Examiner lends itself more to news type stories written in the third person. This subject, however, is so personal and so sensitive than only the first person narrative will do it justice. I can link to this posting in tomorrow's Examiner article.

And of course, since I wrote this on the fly, in a hurry, during a sleepless night, I figured it was best I not submit it as an Examiner article. :)

First of all, let me say that I do not take what I am doing here on these pages lightly. This is a most serious situation, and in fact, the situation has grown dire. America is in much deeper trouble than any of us ever imagined, even those of us who tend to be more aware of what goes on behind the scenes than most.

The first inkling I had that something wicked this way comes was a nagging internal feeling I began to have back in 2009 that something simply wasn't right. This went far deeper than the utter disappointment and sense of alarm I felt when Barack Obama ascended to the Oval Office along with his entourage of Marxist czars and extremist Leftwing advisers. I had the distinct sense that something sinister was going on behind the scenes that was much more pervasive than the mere fact that the most radical national politician in U.S. history had somehow managed to get elected as President of the United States. Something much larger, much more insidious and dangerous, was occurring out of sight.

And what was even more alarming was the feeling that this insidious and dangerous covert activity had been going on for decades. Those involved were simply lying in wait for the right time, waiting for the right circumstances to come together at once to launch into their massive program that would change the very nature of America within a few short years.

I first knew that this underground, subversive activity was taking place when I discovered Barack Obama's closest associates during the run up to the 2008 Presidential election. The mainstream media ignored the information although it was readily available. Names such as Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Jeremiah Wright, John Holdren, Cass Sunstein, and Van Jones began to surface, indicating that all of Obama's closet associates throughout his entire life have been deeply involved in the most extremist elements of Leftwing radicalism.

Ayers and Dohrn in particular were highly troublesome due to their history of homegrown terrorist activity in the Weathermen of the 1960s and 70s, which set off bombs in federal buildings resulting in the deaths of several persons, including police officers.

When Obama was asked by a mainstream media reporter in 2008 about his association with Ayers, he quipped that "he was just another guy in the neighborhood that I didn't know very well."

This statement was left unchallenged by the reporter.

Immediately an alarm went off in my head. I knew that Obama was lying. It hit me like a ton of bricks as I watched that interview. A short time later it was discovered and reported in the conservative media, though not in the mainstream media, that Ayers was the one who had actually written Obama's first book, Dreams From My Father. Ayers had also launched Obama's political career in Illinois in the early 1990s by holding a series of 'get to know' gatherings for the candidate in his living room.

At the time Obama was a member of the infamous New Socialist Party, or 'The New Party' as it was called.

Obama had, in fact, maintained a close relationship with Ayers for a number of years.

Ayers and Dohrn, by the way, were arrested in 1981 for their role in the bombing and murders of citizens caught in the crosshairs, but charges were dropped on a technicality. Both have stated to the press since that time that they did not regret any of what they did while perpetrating deadly violence with the Weathermen, and they "wish they had done even more."

Ayers dropped out of public view when he decided to pursue a career in education. He got his degrees, put on a suit, and became a professor. But his radical views remained unchanged, and he continued to sow the seeds of civil discontent in any way possible. He resurfaced with the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement as a featured speaker, having been the originator of the very first 'Occupy' movement called 'Days of Rage' in Chicago in 1968, during which over 60 innocent citizens were injured and multi-millions of dollars of damage was done to private property.

Ayers had told the young participants in the Chicago Days of Rage that they were to 'kill their parents' as an expression of their disdain for American capitalism and the way of life it had created.

The domestic terrorist-turned college professor also turned up in the so-called 'Peace Flotilla' movement in the Middle East, along with Code Pink's Jodie Evans--another radical piece of work--and his wife Bernadine Dohrn. The Flotilla is famous for sparking a confrontation with Israeli soldiers when it entered the barricaded area near Gaza. And of course it wasn't long before Muslim radicals in the region were stirring up unrest in moderate Muslim dictatorships such as Egypt in order to depose the dictators, replacing them with more radical Islamists such as those associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, another radical group long associated with terrorism.

One of Obama's foreign policy advisers for the Middle East was directly behind the  civil unrest created throughout the region, resulting in an upheaval that has placed American and Israeli interests in grave danger, including the lives of American and Israeli citizens.

And low and behold, who else was discovered to be in the middle of the unrest but none other than Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, and Jodie Evans, among others. It was also widely reported at the time that one source of funding for this activity was none other than Marxist billionaire George Soros, the guru behind Media Matters, MoveOn.org, and John Podesta's Center for American Progress, where some of the most radical Marxists in the nation gather to pool their Leftwing talents for public consumption.

The War on Christians

The second major red flag that went off my head indicating that something simply was not right occurred when Barack Obama essentially declared war on Christians by his failure to allow religious organizations to opt out of the ObamaCare mandate that all insurance companies cover abortions, contraception, and other such reproductive procedures and medications, including the morning after abortion pill, for free.

Nothing is truly free in this world. If one person gets something free you can rest assured that somebody else paid for it. Thus, churches and religious organizations that believe abortion is abhorrent are being forced to pay to cover FOR FREE their employees who use contraception or other devices and procedures associated with abortion and reproduction.

When ObamaCare was being hotly debated in the Congress, one way that Obama was able to get more conservative Democrats on board was to promise them that religious organizations would be granted an exemption in these matters. That promise was summarily broken as has been the case with most of Obama's campaign promises.

Catholics in particular have been so enraged by Obama's refusal to compromise and bend on this issue that they have deemed his mandate as a declaration of war on the Church, to which they responded by declaring war on Obama.

Some Catholics have even vowed civil disobedience if Obama's mandate is allowed to stand.

But Catholics aren't the only ones being affected by this blatant attack on the First Amendment provision of religious liberty. A Baptist college in Louisiana is also under the gun after being informed by the Administration that it must offer its students all of the free coverages mentioned above, although the college, as a Baptist funded organization, stands squarely against sex before marriage and abortion procedures of any kind, including those that are medication-induced.

The Kagan Factor

When Elena Kagan was tapped by Obama for the Supreme Court, conservatives sounded the alarm due to her statements on free speech and ObamaCare. She once stated that government has the right to restrict the First Amendment, limiting free speech as long as it can show an overriding need for doing so. Kagan also advocated for the passage of the ObamaCare bill in Congress while she worked for the Administration as Solicitor General. Yet she has refused to do the ethical thing and recuse herself from the upcoming court ruling on the ObamaCare bill, in spite of the fact that she has a blatant conflict of interest in sitting in on the hearings concerning that law.

This suggests deep corruption and a fix--the fix being that Kagan was placed on the court to give Obama a sure vote in favor of his healthcare mandate, which not only had changed the historic meaning of the commerce clause but violated every known principle of Constitutional law by forcing citizens to make purchases against their will.

The Attack on an Objective Press

From the beginning Obama's attitude toward negative statements about him in the press has been that of a tyrant. He has complained like a petulant child each time a reporter dared ask even one question that put him on the spot. He even went as far during the 2008 campaign to call station managers at local radio stations to complain about questions he was asked by local reporters.

And it is common knowledge that during the first two years of his presidency, Obama declared war on Fox News, particularly against former Fox personality Glenn Beck. He even had his henchmen such as David Axelrod making his rounds on the mainstream media Sunday morning news talk shows claiming that Fox was 'not a real news organization.'

Of course, Axelrod failed to mention the countless examples of NBC, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, and CBS openly advocating for Obama's election during the campaign, and blatantly rooting for the passage of his healthcare bill in 2009. Charles Gibson, former anchor for ABC News, went as far as to broadcast the network's nightly news program right out of the White House on the night the vote was taken in Congress on ObamaCare.

But the attacks on objective news reporting have gone from juvenile tantrums to outright war. Conservative talk show hosts have been targeted to be destroyed. The White House right now is involved with its allies to attempt to pull Rush Limbaugh's radio show off the air altogether, due to the fact that Rush dared to expose the Administration's dirty little scheme to put up a law school student as the poster child for receiving free birth control pills at taxpayer expense.

It has been shown that the young woman lied to Congress in her claim that she was too poor to afford her birth control pills. They are available for a mere $9 bucks a month at the local Target pharmacy and other discount drug outlets. And the media failed to mention that she somehow manages to scrape together enough money to take cross country flights to see her boyfriend, who, by the way, happens to be the son of a rich donor to the Obama campaign.

Corruption from top to bottom

The person who described this Administration as 'Crime, Inc.' was not exaggerating. Obama has assembled the most thoroughly corrupt cast of characters in his administration of any in the history of the Republic. Eric Holder is a joke at the Justice Department along with all of his top lieutenants at the DOJ and the ATF. Even the most cursory look at the facts of the Fast and Furious scandal will reveal a level of corruption that calls into question the ability of this government to engage in integrity, honesty, fairness, and the rule of law.

But this same mindset has spilled over into the State Department under Hillary Clinton, who is said by whistleblowers to be one of the first to oversee the planning of the Fast and Furious program in her office. The same can be said about Janet Napolitano at Homeland Security and Robert Mueller at FBI.

Each of these agency heads wish to deprive Americans of their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. And they were willing, along with their enablers and accomplices in Congress, some of whom were Republicans, to do whatever was necessary, even break the law and get people killed, in order to advance their gun control agenda.

And despite all of the verified, proven facts of this case, the House Republican leadership has been dragging its feet for over a year in attempting to bring the perpetrators of this travesty to justice. A few Republicans, but not all and not even a majority, were in on the scheme, fully informed about it along with the Democrats who controlled both the House and Senate in 2009. But they did nothing.

This should be enough to cause any patriotic, respectable American to take to the streets screaming bloody murder, demanding that Washington be sanitized from top to bottom, ridding the halls of government of the corrupt vermin who have invaded our courts, our Congress, and our Executive branch.

A shocking lesson on a social networking site

One evening this week I began to to send messages out on a social networking site about the vast corruption that has infested our government at all levels--local, state, and federal. An interesting thing began to happen. My words struck a chord with many people who began to listen intently and pass along my messages. But a significant number of them, though not a majority, took my words as an opportunity to disparage the American system of government as prescribed by the Constitution. Their contention was that 'the system had failed,' that 'America has outgrown representative government,' and that 'the present system must be replaced.'

I immediately realized that I was talking to Occupy Movement types, followers of Ayers, Alinsky, Van Jones, George Soros, John Podesta, and Jodie Evans.

It suddenly struck me that these people have been lying in wait all these years for the right time to strike. They now see the present as that time.

They are using public discontent with the corruption in government to make a case for the overthrow of the American system of government entirely. As one of these subversives told me, "It is time for direct democracy where the people decide everything through majority vote."

I immediately countered that direct democracy is mob rule, which is merely another form of tyranny. If a simple majority of my fellow citizens can decide through a majority vote that I should not be allowed to drive a large pickup truck, then freedom as we know it is gone. This is what is called 'tyranny by majority vote.' The only way 'democracy' can preserve freedom is by safeguarding certain rights that are NEVER subject to a majority vote. This is why the Framers insisted on limiting the power of government, and by extension, limiting the ability of the majority of voters to strip away the rights of their fellow citizens. Without those safeguards and limitations, democracy is no better than Fascism, Nazism, or Communism.

We conservatives DO NOT ADVOCATE FOR THE OVERTHROW OF OUR SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT!!

We DO advocate the ouster of most of the PEOPLE who occupy the offices of our form of government. There is absolutely nothing wrong with our system of government. But there is A LOT wrong with the people who run it. These persons abandoned following the Constitution nearly one hundred years ago. It is not that the Constitution does not work, it is that WE ARE NOT ABIDING BY IT!

And the blame for that goes to the people we have chosen to serve in the offices of government. Time to get rid of them all and start over.

Getting rid of bad people is not overthrowing the government but saving it. The ones who wish to overthrow the government and are thus guilty of treason are those who claim 'our system of government has failed and we need a new system.'

Finances, oil, the economy, and jobs

In 2007 during the run up to the Presidential campaign of 2008, Barack Obama told a reporter during an interview, "Under my program energy costs will necessarily skyrocket."

No one paid attention to that shocking statement in the midst of their Obama-mania during which large sectors of the populace were so mesmerized by his countenance that one would have thought God himself had appeared on earth.

But the mindless minions went marching into the polling places to cast their votes for 'the anointed one' like zombies, unaware of what was about to hit them. Gasoline at the time of the 2008 vote was a mere $1.83 cents per gallon. Today it stands at nearly $4 bucks a gallon and rising. Electricity rates are up too.

The reason? A convoluted, irrational energy policy that severely hampers oil drilling and increases our dependence on foreign oil at a time when we need to be weaning ourselves OFF of oil that comes from volatile Middle Eastern nations.

Obama's 'green energy initiative' is moronic. The nation is not ready to sustain such a switch in energy sources. Experts say it will be at least another ten years before we can sustain our economy with alternative energy. Yet Obama acts and talks as if these sources are ready for mass consumption now. But in fact they are NOT. Without more oil, and LOADS of it, we will find ourselves in an economic freefall, unable to sustain our way of life.

And Obama's policies have prevented the creation of new jobs due to stupid regulations by the EPA, a subservient attitude toward labor unions, and a policy toward taxation that leads corporations to desire to move their businesses overseas.

The result will be complete collapse, which the current monetary, financial and economic policies are setting the stage for anyway.  And with the Middle East on the brink of war due to mindless, barbaric Muslim extremists, and with the continuing debt crisis in Greece and the rest of Europe, and with rumors of a possible coup and upheaval in China, America stands on the brink of a calamity like we've never before faced in our history.

Conclusion

The multi-pronged, simultaneous attack being launched against America by multiple sources is testing the strength, resolve, and character of the American soul at its very core. Free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press are all being directly and openly attacked. The moral and ethical foundation of the country has been rattled to its core by widespread corruption. The financial sector is under heavy strain due to asinine policies implemented by politicians who have a vested interest in weakening America so that it is more vulnerable to the subversive and dangerous suggestion that 'we need a new system of government.'

Thus, we have come full circle. We are right back where we started with Leftwing, Marxist radicals from the 60s claiming that 'we need a new system of government,' except this time the long haired hippies have become older members of the establishment who wear suits. But their message has not changed. They still want to tear down America and replace it with a new system based upon Marxism.

But now, unlike the 60s, they have friends in high places in the government, including the guy who sits right in the Oval Office.

Without drastic, urgent steps to insure that this entire crowd is ousted from power in Washington in November, the nation will cross a point of no return at which time our freedoms, and the vision of the shining city on a hill that points to liberty for all, will fade into the dust bin of history.

Group issues petition to force Kagan recusal from ObamaCare ruling

The U.S. Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments on Monday in the ObamaCare lawsuit filed by nearly 30 states that claim the new law is unconstitutional. A group has issued a petition to attempt to force Justice Elena Kagan to recuse herself from the case.
Kagan had worked for the Obama Administration prior to being named by Barack Obama as his new Supreme Court appointee. Her role in the Administration as Solicitor General was to represent the federal government of the United States before the U.S. Supreme Court.
This means that in all legal cases involving the federal government, Kagan's role was to argue for the Obama Administration in lawsuits brought against the government.
In the ObamaCare case it is clear from the evidence that Kagan was personally invested in advocating for the passage of the new healthcare law. This was the official stance of the Administration, and thus, by extension, it was the official stance of Kagan as Solicitor General for the Administration.

More proof that drug kingpins were paid FBI informants

One of the strongest pieces of evidence proving that the Fast and Furious operation conducted by the ATF and the Department of Justice was not a sting operation at all but a scheme by which to justify more gun control laws is the fact that the supposed 'Mexican drug kingpins' targeted by the Feds turned out to be paid FBI informants.
There is now more proof today that these drug lords were cooperating with and working for the federal government.

Shared culpability: a reason for Fast and Furious stand down?

In an Examiner report yesterday it was noted that Congress has backed off of its investigation into the Fast and Furious scandal in which the Obama Administration created false statistics to justify calls for gun bans by sending U.S. firearms to Mexican criminals.
The stand down on the part of Congress may be due to shared culpability.
Prior to the last House hearing in which Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, committee Chairman Darrell Issa had issued a threat of contempt of Congress to Holder unless he received subpoenaed documents from the Justice Department by a specified deadline.
That deadline came and went with no documents and no citation against Holder for contempt.
Instead, the Justice Department claimed it did not have enough time to gather all of the subpoenaed documents, and it thus requested more time. Issa granted an extension without specifying any deadline whatsoever.

Godfather Rahm's police muzzle NBC reporters

The man who is now the Mayor of Chicago is commonly referred to by conservatives as 'the Godfather' due to his history that implies connections with the mob. Rahm Emanuel, who served as Obama's Chief of Staff until he resigned to run for Mayor, once sent a dead fish wrapped in newspaper to a pollster who had angered him.
A dead fish wrapped in newspaper is a classic symbol the mob uses to warn individuals that they are either dangerously close to becoming targets or are already targets of retaliation by the Mafia.
It was widely speculated among conservatives when Rahm announced his candidacy for Mayor that the move was a signal that the infamous Chicago political machine, which has been known for deep corruption and election rigging, particularly under Mayor Richard Daley, Sr., had tapped Rahm as the one who would continue its stranglehold on the city.

Greta Van Susteren falsely spins Fast and Furious scandal

A report on Greta Van Susteren's Fox News program last evening depicts one of the major problems associated with the dissemination of the truth about the Fast and Furious scandal that engulfs the Obama Administration. The vast majority of the media that reports the story falsely spins it.
While Fox, along with CBS News, has been one of the two major mainstream sources of breaking developments concerning the scandal, it has incessantly skewed the story to give the Administration a break. Fast and Furious, as the spin goes, was a sting operation gone awry.
Susteren's guest on last night's show was a reporter from the Congressional Quarterly. The reporter recounted the story that hit the new wires yesterday concerning a major suspect with ties to key Mexican drug kingpins, who was arrested by the ATF but immediately released upon his promise that he would stay in touch with agents and give them information.
But the suspect disappeared into Mexico and never reported back to the ATF....

These are powerful and will give you power.

New documents show more ATF corruption

In a series of documents obtained over the weekend by the Washington bureau of the Times/Tribune, information was gleaned showing more ATF corruption in the now infamous Fast and Furious scandal during which the Obama Administration placed U.S. guns directly into the hands of Mexican drug cartels in order to create false firearms statistics that would help it make a case for draconian new gun control laws.
The documents show that a top suspect with direct connections to a Mexican drug cartel kingpin was apprehended but turned loose by the ATF.
Hope MacAllister, a key ATF agent connected with Fast and Furious, turned Manuel Fabian Celis-Acosta loose after scribbling her phone number on a $10 bill which she gave to the suspect after he promised to "cooperate and stay in touch with investigators."
According to the documents, Celis-Acosta then disappeared into Mexico never to be heard from again.

The 2A News Roundup--Top Ten for Monday, March 17, 2012

Greetings, patriots! Glad to be doing the Roundup again after nearly a two month hiatus due to a respiratory bug that zapped me of my energy. Happy to say things are looking on the bright side now.

Do me a favor and take a look at the new book by DC Trebil, located in the top left corner, entitled, The Constellation of Liberty. Simply click on the book's image for more information. I think you will find the book provides ample food for thought.

And now, for the Roundup!

David Codrea says that the mask is coming off of the Administration's deception on the subject of guns. It's about time!

Mike Vanderboegh is recovering from major surgery, but he managed to do some blogging while in the hospital. Here he points to a curious fact on the part of DHS--the agency ordered 450 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.

Kurt Hofmann shows that the Fast and Furious scandal is merely the culmination of Eric Holder's anti-gun 'brainwashing' scheme which he launched in 1995.

WRSA provides a VERY important read on why Obama's recent Executive Order on National Defense Resources Preparedness is so different--and dangerous.

Way Up North has the quote of the day. I had to laugh right out loud because I can relate!

Tam posts a story and a video of two women out late at night and some lessons that can be gleaned from their experience.

John Jacob H provides an important reminder on 'enemies foreign and domestic.'

Around O Town notes that it looks like Billy and Hillary are getting an airport named after them. Would that be some air strip in the interior of Arkansas where a sock hangs at the top of a pole to gauge the wind?

The New York Liberty Report has a must-see video explaining why the Pope is packing the College of Cardinals with conservative Bishops. The Church is under heavy attack from you-know-who!

Stand Up America shares an explosive expose of how an ultra-leftist Department of Justice under Eric Holder and Barack Obama has changed a nation for the worst. A must-read.

Levin: America has only one chance left

Radio talk show host Mark Levin is currently on an autograph tour to promote his new book, Ameritopia: The Unmaking of America. During a televised stop on the tour at the Reagan Library, Levin stated on CSPAN 2, recorded on March 8 and broadcast last evening, that America has only one chance left at survival, and it is the upcoming November election.
According to Levin, the nation faces a decision this November that will determine it's survival as a beacon of freedom in the world.

CSPAN 2 tape shows Holder saying people must be brainwashed on guns

A CSPAN tape just released today from 1995 shows Attorney-General Eric Holder, who was then a U.S. attorney in the Justice Department of the Clinton Administration, saying that people must be brainwashed on guns in order to change the hearts and minds of citizens on the subject of violence.
Breitbart.com uncovered the video from CSPAN 2, shown in 1995, in which Holder is speaking before the Woman's National Democratic Club. The video can be viewed by clicking here.
In his speech Holder states that in order to get citizens to begin to think differently about guns, advertising agencies, newspapers, and television and radio stations should run anti-gun public service ads similar to those launched by the government in the 1960s to change the public's perception about smoking. Said Holder...

Romney delegate grab in Missouri backfires

Although Republicans in Missouri went to the polls in February to vote for their preference for the 2012 Presidential nomination, the non binding nature of the primary led candidate Mitt Romney to declare that Rick Santorum's 30 point win was meaningless because no delegates were at stake.
That is beginning to change.
Today Republicans in each county in Missouri are holding caucuses to choose delegates. And if early results are any indication of the eventual result, Mitt Romney is about to get a smack down from the Missouri GOP.

Fast and Furious scandal update shows whistleblower risks

In a move that comes with incredible risk to the lives and careers of whistleblowers within the Justice Department's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (the ATF), a veteran agent sent a notice to Attorney General Eric Holder, the Acting Director of the ATF, and the entire Senate Judiciary Committee stating that whistleblower agents have every intention to do whatever is necessary to restore integrity to an agency that is rife with corruption.
Special Agent Vince Cefalu and a coalition of ATF whistleblower agents stated,
“It is our intention to assist in restoring integrity, accountability and responsibility of ATF management and employee confidence in ATF and Main Justice.”
The agents who blew the whistle on the now infamous Fast and Furious scandal, in which the Obama Administration used the ATF to place guns directly into the hands of Mexican drug cartels in order to make a case for strict gun control laws, have faced retaliatory action from supervisors within the agency.

About Me

Ok, friends, I suppose I will give you an update about me. Many of you are wondering about the Second Amendment News Roundup section of this blog, a regular feature for the past 4 years.

I have been sick for 2 months with a respiratory infection that has been slow to respond to treatment. While I have not been sick enough not to work altogether, it has hampered some of my endeavors. So, I cut out the Roundup until I felt better.

I am happy to report today that it appears we have turned the corner on this bug, and it is gradually going away. Thank the Lord. So, Monday I plan to resume the Roundup for your reading pleasure. I do think the Roundup is important to keep the gun rights community informed about the issues we face.

Yes, I know others provide a similar service. But we are all different, and we all have our own unique niche. The more the merrier.

So, be watching on Monday as the Second Amendment News Roundup resumes.

Feds issue cost of living analysis with glaring omissions

The Obama Administration released its analysis of the cost of living for February today, but the report contains some glaring omissions. The Feds claim that the cost of living rose a mere 0.4 percent.
While the report admits that gasoline prices rose sharply, the government stopped including energy costs in its calculation for the inflation rate in the early 1990s.
Food is also excluded from the rate of inflation.
These factors led market ticker guru Karl Denninger to state that the report is a joke.

Operative says Romney and Paul conspiring to rig delegates

In spite of the fact that on Feb. 7 Missouri Republicans chose Rick Santorum as their preferred candidate to face Barack Obama in November, new evidence has come to light indicating that the campaigns of Mitt Romney and Ron Paul are conspiring to rig delegate choices in the state, resulting in the denial of delegates to Santorum which normally would be his.
In a phone conversation today with this reporter, Mark Wright, former Assistant Majority Leader of the Missouri House of Representatives and current member of the Greene County Republican Central Committee, states that within the last two days he has heard from numerous political operatives in the state who complain that the Romney and Paul camps are openly colluding to shut out Rick Santorum from receiving any delegates at all in multiple counties, in spite of his Feb. 7 win.

Despite losses, mainstream media says Romney inevitable

Despite Mitt Romney's losses in the south yesterday in the Alabama and Mississippi Republican primaries, the mainstream media continues to claim that it is inevitable that the former Massachusetts Governor will become the Party's nominee.
The AP in particular noted that the math is on Romney's side going forward. Their rationale for the prediction is that although Romney came in third in both of the high profile contests yesterday, he picked up more delegates than anyone on the strength of his win in Hawaii and the fact that the top three candidates in Alabama and Mississippi were so close in their total votes that he will pick up a significant number of delegates from those states.
Both states use the proportional system in awarding delegates.
But is the AP's assessment a plausible one?

Good News! Vanderboegh Out of Surgery, Doing Well

David Codrea reports that Mike Vanderboegh came through his surgery today with flying colors and is doing well in ICU.

He is expected to stay in ICU until Monday.

David says he was awake and talking with his wife post-op. This is truly the best possible outcome. Thanks for your prayers. Continue to pray.

All eyes on Alabama, Mississippi today in GOP race

Republicans in two key states that form a significant part of the party base will go to the polls today to make their choice for the candidate they prefer to face Barack Obama in November.
A total of 90 delegates are at stake between the two states, 50 in Alabama and 40 in Mississippi.
RCP's average composite voter preference polls among Republicans show that Newt Gingrich is ahead in both states by a razor thin margin. In Mississippi Gingrich holds a two point lead over Mitt Romney. In Alabama Gingrich barely hangs on to a 0.02 lead over Romney.

Domestic terrorist Bill Ayers calls Breitbart a bomb thrower

Domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, who with his wife Bernadine Dohrn founded the 'Weather Underground'--also known as 'the Weathermen'--in the 1960s, has referred to the late Andrew Breitbart as a "bomb thrower of the radical right."
Ayers made the statement yesterday in a report on a dinner party he co hosted with Breitbart and conservative commentator Tucker Carlson.
A video of the remarks can be accessed by clicking on the video icon on the left that is entitled, 'Bill Ayers Calls Andrew Breitbart a Bomb Thrower.'
As founding members of the The Weathermen, Ayers and Dohrn have admitted to bombing federal buildings in the late 1960s and early 70s. One such terrorist attack led to the deaths of several persons for which both were sought for murder as fugitives from justice. In 1980, when the the pair finally surrendered to law enforcement, charges were dropped on a technicality.

Urgent Prayer Request for Mike Vanderboegh

Our friend and patriot, Mike Vanderboegh, went into the hospital today to get prepped for major surgery tomorrow.

Mike has an abdominal tumor that will require radical surgery to remove it. Due to his other health problems, his chances of survival are lower than they would be for other people.

He does have a better than average chance of survival, however. And that's where you come in. Pray for him. Ask the Lord to watch over him and those who will do the surgery. Ask that there will be no complications from the surgery, that all will go smoothly, and that his recovery will progress as planned.

Thank you.

Backlash begins over rampage against conservatives

Today there is evidence that the rampage against conservatives during the past week in response to Rush Limbaugh's sharply worded criticism of Sandra Fluke, the law school student who advocated for free birth control, has resulted in a backlash.
Limbaugh had stated on his radio show that Fluke had made a prostitute of herself by allowing Democrats in Congress and the Obama Administration to use her as a paid shill for free contraception, free abortion pills, and other healthcare provisions the Administration is attempting to force on religious organizations.
Immediately liberals attempted to make political brownie points, misconstruing Limbaugh's words by claiming that the talk show host had called Fluke a 'whore' and a 'prostitute.' The critics conveniently failed to provide the context in which the words were used.
Advertisers on the Limbaugh radio show began to pull their ads in protest, including such well known names as Carbonite, Legal Zoom, AOL-Huffington Post, Quicken Loans, Sleep Train, Sleep Number, ProFlowers, and Citrix, among others.

Judge Napolitano blasts the two party system as a sham

Judge Andrew Napolitano, former host of 'Freedom Watch' on the Fox Business Channel, blasted the two party system as a sham in a video that has gone viral.
Some critics believe that views such as these got the Judge fired from the show. Fox announced in February that Freedom Watch had been cancelled.
While Fox insisted that Napolitano would stay on and continue to provide on air legal counsel for the network's programs as he has done in the past, critics says that Fox assured the public essentially the same thing when it dropped Glenn Beck from the lineup.
Beck's initial announcement that he would leave Fox included an assurance from Roger Ailes himself that the popular host would continue to do special projects and programs for the network. None of that turned out to be the case.

This Week's 'A Voice for Freedom' Radio Show

Join us Saturday mornings at 11 AM Eastern on WFHT, Orlando, and WKFL, Bushnell, Florida. Listen via Internet 24/7 by clicking here.

The pictures tell the real story on jobs

If one listens to the Obama Administration and the mainstream media, including the nightly news broadcasts on CBS, ABC, and NBC, one would conclude that the jobs predicament in America is improving.
But the pictures tell the real story on jobs, and that story is quite the opposite from the what most Americans hear from their government.
The government claims that 227,000 new jobs were added in February and that the unemployment rate of 8.3% was unchanged from the previous month.
CNBC in particular jumped for joy over the figures, claiming that the economic climate in the U.S. is drastically improving. This, of course, is the exact talking point used by the Obama Administration.
The talk of numbers, statistics, and facts and figures is a boring endeavor for most people. But when such numbers can be illustrated in pictures and graphs, a stark panoramic view begins to come into focus for most people, providing for them a stunning visual that sticks in the mind.

Two Florida patriots create a stir among conservatives

Two Florida patriots who describe themselves as ordinary citizens who simply want to make a difference for their country are creating a stir among conservatives around the country. Lori Hendry and Ginger Carlisle are turning heads in the talk radio movement with their weekly show, A Voice for Freedom.
Hendry stated yesterday that the show has so many requests from conservative movers and shakers to be guests that she and co-host Carlisle are having trouble keeping up with the demand. And Carlisle announced earlier in the week that the show had added a second station to its growing syndication.
A Voice for Freedom can now be heard not only on WFHT AM 1390 in Orlando-Avon Park but also on WKFL AM 1170 in Bushnell, Florida.

Mueller indicates assassination of citizens may be acceptable

In one of the more shocking exchanges to occur since Barack Obama took office between Administration officials and Congressional leaders, FBI director Robert Mueller indicated that the targeted assassination of citizens by the government on U.S. soil may be acceptable.
The exchange came yesterday as Mueller testified before a House committee that was holding hearings on the FBI budget.
U.S. Representative Kevin Yoder, R-Kan., had asked Mueller if there were a distinction between targeting U.S. citizens abroad for their involvement in suspected terrorist activities and targeting such citizens on U.S. soil:

Fast and Furious: 100 Congressmen call for Holder resignation

After a lull in news that seemed to go on for over a month concerning the Congressional investigation into the Fast and Furious scandal, today six more Congressmen announced that they are calling for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder.
100 U.S. Congressmen are now on the record calling for Holder to resign.
The Department of Justice still has not provided to Congress hundreds of documents demanded by Congressman Darrell Issa under the threat of contempt charges. Yet Issa has yet to follow up on his insistence that the failure of DOJ to give him the documents will result in contempt citations for Holder.
Government insiders have told reporters that House Speaker John Boehner has pressured Issa to hold off on issuing contempt citations.

Super Tuesday: the likely scenario

The likely scenario of today's Super Tuesday Republican contests across the nation is based upon the latest up to the minute polling data of the campaigns and an assessment of where the voters seem to be leaning at this point in time.
A full assessment of the latest polls can be found at Rasmussen Reports.
First, Newt Gingrich will pick up some much needed momentum today. The numbers indicate that he will take Georgia by a landslide. 76 delegates are at stake, and Gingrich appears poised to take upwards of 80% of them.
The former House Speaker also has a good chance in Tennessee and especially in Oklahoma, where social conservatives are strong...

Mainstream media begins to turn on Obama?

When reporter Jake Tapper of ABC News confronted White House Press Secretary Jay Carney last week over the Administration's use of The Espionage Act to silence journalists, some media watchers began to wonder if this were a signal that the mainstream media is beginning to turn on Barack Obama.
If such a thing were true, it would be a major shift for the big news outlets in America. In 2008 the vast majority of the media practically served as publicists for the Obama election campaign.
So blatant and overt was the media's cheerleading for Obama that former long time CBS correspondent Bernie Goldberg wrote a best selling book about it entitled, A Slobbering Love Affair, in which he recounted many other incidents showing that for decades the major news outlets have slanted their reporting to favor Leftwing candidates and causes.

Gun store owners: fears of Obama reelection driving skyrocketing gun sales

Gun stores owners across America report that gun sales are skyrocketing more than ever before. According to DeWayne Irwin of the popular Cheaper Than Dirt gun shop in Ft. Worth, Texas, skyrocketing sales are being driven by growing fears that Barack Obama will be reelected in November.
"Look at who the Republicans are trying to put against Obama," said Irwin. "It's the Keystone Cops and people are getting scared. People are terrified he's going to get reelected and then he won't care about getting votes next time. He'll pass whatever legislation he wants," Irwin stated in an interview with the Star Telegram.
According to politicos who closely watch the mood of the electorate, such fears apparently are not without good reason. The stock market, for the very first time since the campaign season began late last year, has now placed the odds on Obama being elected for a second term.
