***ANOTHER CRITICAL LIBERTY ALERT***

The words on the screen are eerily reminiscent of another era in American history--the days of the Cuban Missile Crisis during which Russia aimed nuclear missiles at the U.S. just 90 miles away in the Communist haven of Fidel Castro.

As Obama and the Democrats focus on removing trade and travel restrictions to the Communist country, Cuba is preparing to allow Russian bombers to utilize its air bases. So is Venezuela.

The newly forged Communist-Jihadist Axis of Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea is beginning to show its potential force which will pose a major problem for the West, particularly in light of the fact that Obama has nixed the Bush plan to set up a nuclear shield to protect free nations from the new menace.

Read this complete report at Breitbart via Matt Drudge.

***SPECIAL LIBERTY ALERT***

News from the San Fransisco of the South, North Carolina: A judge has ruled that a family that homeschools their children must place them in public schools, although the children's test scores place them 2 grade levels above their present grade!

The judge claims they need 'a more well-rounded education.'

What, like, how to roll a doobie? How to give or receive a BJ to/from at least 25 members of the opposite sex by the time you're 15?

Give me a freakin' break! This sounds like something we are going to see much more of during the ominous years of Barack Obama. So, get set. The state wants your kids!! They must be indoctrinated into the mindset of the Big Brother Socialist State.

A demonstration is planned against the judge's ruling.

Read the details HERE.

Censorship

A central mode of operation on the part of the modern Far Left in this country is to attempt to silence opposition. We see it in the Obama administration, the Democratic Congress, the mainstream media, and in any number of arenas.

What about the attempt to censor opposing points of view on the Internet? This is the subject of my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Learn about how some on the Far Left are conducting a coordinated effort to censor Examiner articles like mine.

Read and share with friends. And thank-you for your help in spreading the word about this.

Obama: 'It's Not As Bad As We Had Thought'

Stating on Thursday that the economy is 'not as bad as we had thought,' Barack Obama essentially canceled the nation's dire economic emergency.

Just like that.

My column at Columbia Conservative Examiner analyzes this curious turn of events, or more specifically, this curious change in rhetoric.

It seems Obama needed the dire economic emergency to advance his agenda. Now he needs a better economy to advance the rest of it.

Read the article and pass it along. And thanks!

The 1st Governor to Reject Stimulus Funds

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford became the first governor in the nation on Wednesday to reject part of the money allotted to the state in the federal economic stimulus package.

But he did accept part of the money as well.

And this is the subject of my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Personally, I wish he had rejected the entire thing, but I do understand certain political and economic realities.

What do you think? Should he, as a staunch critic of the stimulus package, reject the entire thing? Or, given that taxpayers are going to be paying for the thing anyway, should he have done what he did and accepted some of it? You can leave your comments on the Examiner column page.

Read, and share. And thanks for your interest.

Should There Be a Law Forcing Physical Exercise?

From Dr. Walter Williams:

During winter months, I work out 10 minutes on the treadmill and lift weights at seven stations four mornings a week. Over the years, during the spring through fall months, I racked up about 2,000 miles on my road bike. This level of exercise helps account for why, at 73 years, I'm in such good health and physical fitness. So my question to you is whether you think regular exercise is a good idea. I think the answer is definitely yes, if nothing other than its beneficial effects on health care costs. Since exercise is a good idea, would you support a congressional mandate that all Americans engage in regular exercise?

The notion that government should require citizens to do whatever is 'for their own good' in the name of 'promoting the general welfare' is a common argument among statists.

But is this kind of government intrusion really what we want? Is this what the Founders envisioned?

Be sure to read the entirety of Williams' excellent essay here.

2nd Amendment News Roundup on Examiner!

Today I decided to do something a bit different over at my Columbia Conservative Examiner column.

I decided to post yesterday's Second Amendment News Roundup, which means that all of the links to the blogs I provide here at The Liberty Sphere will be on the Examiner site as well.

Also, I included 4 other links to recent Roundup editions.

I thought it would be nice for a (hopefully) wider audience to become aware of the good work being done on the guns-and-freedom blogs.

Give it a look, and spread the word! Thanks!

Blue Dog Democrats Struggle With 'New Dems'

Blue dog Democrats who are known for being more socially and fiscally conservative than their colleagues are finding themselves in a struggle for power with so-called 'New Dems,' according to The Hill.

The 55-member coalition of moderate Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives may have caught the attention of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but the members of the 'New Dems' say they do not wish to be defined by the principles espoused by the Blue Dogs.

One key reason, obviously, is the fact that Barack Obama sits in the White House. Obama has clearly embraced an extremist agenda, and most Dems in both the House and the Senate have been more than willing to jump on board the Obama program.

Frankly, the Blue Dogs have very little power in the House due to nothing more than the sheer numbers. They are simply overwhelmed and out-voted by the more liberal element in the Party.

Even some of the Blue Dogs themselves have abandoned their principles and jumped aboard the Obama bandwagon.

Stock Market Tumbles Again

The Stock Market continues to vote against the policies of Barack Obama as stocks tumbled by 1% on Monday, closing at the 6500 level--the lowest since 1997 during Bill Clinton's 2nd term.

Overall the Market has fallen by 25% this year alone, leading to stunning losses by investors.

Here is the full report.

***URGENT LIBERTY ALERT***

The First Amendment is under attack in the state of Connecticut. The state has taken steps to control the Roman Catholic Church, which would violate the the 1st amendment provision of freedom of religion.

If this is allowed to go through, the state (that is, government) would have an open door to control ALL churches in any number of states.

Read this critical liberty alert here! And act!

Increasingly in today's Topsy-turvy world, military and police officials are finding themselves facing a critical issue that goes to heart of the American way of life--'What should I do when a direct order requires me to go against the Constitution?'

One group in particular, Oath Keepers, is determined to uphold the Constitution even if it means disobeying orders.

And this is the subject of my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

This is a critical issue that needs to be discussed on a widespread basis in American society at this juncture in our history. Read it and pass it along. Thank-you.

Doomsday Scenario Predicted

Almost each day we hear of dire warnings of financial calamity, national crisis, world-wide disarray, and impending riots resulting from the economic downturn.

But a famed New York City Pastor is predicting an imminent doomsday scenario that will put them all to shame.

David Wilkerson was part of a violent street gang in NYC in the early 1960s until he became a Christian. It was then he began to reach out to other members of various gangs in the city, eventually founding the famed 'Teen Challenge' and writing the best-seller The Cross and the Switchblade.

Wilkerson is convinced that the nation and most of the world faces an imminent calamity of epic proportions, which he claims is a manifestation of the judgment of God. He says there will be rioting in the streets of every major city in America and that he envisions NYC and surrounding areas of the northeast 'burning with flames.'

Senator Wants State-Level Stimulus Bill

One U.S. Senator, Lindsey Graham, wants an economic 'stimulus' spending bill just for the state level. As if the federal government's massive spend-fest isn't enough, the Senator suggests that a scaled down stimulus package for the state level would be a good idea.

Read more about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

I have had major differences with Lindsey Graham in the past, and this time is no different.

The Most Powerful Man Americans Know Nothing About

*Americans for the most part know absolutely nothing about this man or what he does.
*He has been appointed by Barack Obama to a very powerful post in his administration.
*He will oversee the government's regulatory agencies.
*He believes eating meat should be banned.
*He believes animals should have the same legal protections as humans.
*He believes animals should be provided legal representation.
*And he believes that you and I as citizens should be stripped of our gun rights.

Who is this man?

One of the most respected reporters/commentators in the nation today, Mike McCarville. has a thoroughly documented expose on this man. It is vital that you read it.
