South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford became the first governor in the nation on Wednesday to reject part of the money allotted to the state in the federal economic stimulus package.
But he did accept part of the money as well.
And this is the subject of my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.
Personally, I wish he had rejected the entire thing, but I do understand certain political and economic realities.
What do you think? Should he, as a staunch critic of the stimulus package, reject the entire thing? Or, given that taxpayers are going to be paying for the thing anyway, should he have done what he did and accepted some of it? You can leave your comments on the Examiner column page.
Read, and share. And thanks for your interest.

I believe he's bowing to political necessity. The money is ours, after all, and it's going to be spent whether he takes it or not. At least this way he has some control over where it will go.
I would have preferred he rejected the whole thing, but this is still a good move on his part. State sovereignty!
