Strange Bedfellows--Unlikely Patriots

A growing chorus of Americans are waking up to the danger to the nation posed by Barack Obama and the Democratic Party leadership in Congress.

Today, at Columbia Conservative Examiner, we take a look at some people in the news who are very different in terms of background, lifestyle, and views, but they all have one major thing in common.

Glad to see more people waking up.

From a Reader...

A faithful reader of this blog sent me a copy of a letter he wrote to Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill on the ObamaCare debacle. He gave me permission to use it, and I decided I would.

I offer the letter without comment or response. It speaks for itself. And it represents the views of millions of us.

-----------------------

This is my response to Sen. MacCaskill on her appearance on The O'Reilly Factor where she said she asked people, at the town hall meeting, to raise their hands if they were on Medicare, then asked them to put down their hands if they wanted to see the program ended. She then used that example as public approval of government health care, even though they may say they do not want Health Care Reform as currently presented.

Letter to Claire MacCaskill 08/13/09- Disingenuousness about Medicare and Health Care Reform

You ignored one very important distinction in your example of Medicare recipients not wanting that program to be discontinued. They had no choice. Paying into the system was not voluntary. It was compelled by law. In many cases more than 50 years of collection for each worker. The bite is now about 20 percent, yeah, I know the employee part is a little less than eight per cent on the paycheck, but don't you think the empoyer's equal contribution affects wage rates?

Then a couple of decades ago, medicare was separated from the FICA taxes, not by diversion of already being collected funds, but by adding more percentage points of deduction from paychecks for employees or gross income from the small businessman. Not voluntary, so to insinuate that recipients of medicare are in favor of government-run health care is patently incorrect and may even be dishonest.

They had no choice about enrollment in the program. Now that they have reached the age where medical care is more likely to be needed and after decades of having the monies taken from them that they could have used to provide it for themselves, they have a right to expect that contract be honored. Now that it needs to be honored, the administration wants to reduce the likelihood of the cash cows receiving the benefits they were promised for their mandatory support of the system, since they are no longer producing. Even if it means they are denied the care their money has already been paid for.

Money that they could have used to provide health care or insurance for themselves, they have a right to expect that contract be honored.

So, cut the crap. You already know all this. Do not again equate governmental compulsion of citizens into a forced program with citizen approval of that government program. You must give people a choice before you can infer approval.

Not so respectfully,

Charles H. Sawders
Doddridge, Ar.

More Bad News for Obama

Barack Obama's approval rating from the public has fallen to a new low of just 47%, as reported today by Scott Rasmussen.

Not only is this well below George W. Bush's approval rating at this point in his Presidency, but Obama's numbers are now the lowest at the 7-month level for any President in 60 years.

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Texas Fred gets us started off today with some bare-knuckled, hard-hitting truth about Obama's snake oil sales event today at the staged townhall meeting.

Say Uncle notes that the Left is going bonkers over the fact that some citizens have been spotted carrying guns at townhall meetings. Perhaps that's just to keep the ACORN and SEIU thugs honest.

The Rustmeister got some good news on his health. Good!

David Codrea wants to know why Obama hasn't retracted his claim concerning Mexican crime gun--a claim that has been shown to be FALSE. Perhaps it's because O has been shown to be a barefaced liar.

Tam shows us that CNN doesn't have even the slightest pretense of objectivity when it comes to Obama and his healthcare proposal.

Around O-Town notes that if the victim in this news story had only used a firearm, there would have been a much better outcome.

'O' Tries to Sell It, but the Public Ain't Buying It!

In what was obviously a staged 'townhall meeting' with an audience carefully chosen by Obama-thugs, 'O' tried to sell the public his snake oil cure for the healthcare system.

But the public ain't buyin' it.

The numbers tell the story, and I have them at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Obama has no political capital left to get his agenda approved, unless he rams it down our throats whether we like it or not!

Democrats' Bare-Faced Lies on Town Hall Protests

It seems we conservatives have the Democrats running scared. The lies emanating from the lips of some of the top Democrats in the country concerning the citizen outrage exhibited at various town hall meetings defy all logic.

Read all about it in my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

The statements from the likes of Barbara Boxer, 'Little Dick' Durbin, and Lloyd Doggett make one wonder where they've been when ACORN, MoveOn.org, and the New Black Panthers, etc. bussed in hordes to intimidate voters.

Yes, You CAN Make a Big Difference!

Never, ever underestimate the power and influence of an enraged electorate!

The citizens across America are storming the gates. Even in Los Angeles, a group of retired citizens, ages 55-85, invaded the offices of Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-California, demanding that she talk to them about the planned government takeover of healthcare.

These brave citizens refused to leave until Feinstein talked to them. So, what does the distinguished Senator do? She calls the cops to her retired constituents!

But the point is that all across America ordinary citizens are walking right up to their elected representatives and demanding a hearing concerning the multi-trillion-dollar government takeover of healthcare.

Perhaps that is why this article has gained so much attention!

You are making a difference! Keep up the pressure on Senators and Congressmen during the August recess!

Perspective on the Growing Outrage in America

An ill wind is blowing across America. Citizen outrage is brewing just below the surface, one symptom of which is the violent acts of loonies, such as the one who went on a shooting spree yesterday at the Holocaust Museum.

But this growing movement is not violent.

Read all about it in my latest column at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

You'll be glad you did.

UPDATE! Leftwing Plans Counter-Protests

It seems the liberals will attempt to divert attention away from the Tea Party taxpayer protests around the country on April 15 by staging their own counter-protests on April 11.

But the big news is that leftwing activists plan to infiltrate the Tea Party protests incognito in order to stage some sort of disruption.

Read all about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Your support by clicking on the links and reading my daily column at Examiner is making a big difference and has been a great encouragement to me in the midst of my recent health problems. I am forever in your debt.

From Across America, the Tea Party Roundup

Reports are coming in concerning the great American Tea Party held in cities and towns across America on Friday.

From what we can tell, the events were successful. Some were poorly attended, but for the most part, the response was beyond expectations, given the short notice and the inclement weather experienced by much of the nation.

Columbia Conservative Examiner has the roundup from Greenville, SC, to Washington, to Chicago, to St. Louis, to Atlanta, and many places in between. Give it a read, and pass it along! Thanks!
