Controversy--What I Will Not Do

The controversy raging in the gun rights community of late between the 'pragmatists' and the 'three percenters' has given me pause to examine my own stance.

It's not that I don't have my own opinions and my own convictions concerning the course of action I would take should the heavy hand of oppressive government seize control.

My concern has been over my stance on the controversy itself, since there are those I admire on both sides.

After all, I read your blogs and post your articles every single weekday on 'The Second Amendment News Roundup.' All of you have important things to say, and you say them well, or else I would not be posting your stuff.

My role is to keep the gun rights community informed of the news as it impacts our rights--guns, speech, politics, and other items of interest.

Therefore, there are some things I will NOT do in the ongoing controversy.

I will NOT resort to name calling and derogatory comments to those on either side of the this issue. I think I have made it pretty clear that I am sympathetic to the cause of the 'three percenters.' But this in no way means I believe those on the other side are cowards or unpatriotic. I believe the 'prags' make a valid point about political activism and doing all we can in the political arena to change things.

I will NOT show disrespect to those with opposing points of view. As I said, all of you on both sides make a valid point. We need each other, and in actuality, we are pushing for the same things. It's just that the tactics and points of emphasis are different.

I will NOT engage in behavior that would have the effect of dividing the gun rights community. Sure, I am opinionated, and I will make my opinions known. But I still respect your views even if you disagree with me, and if you will notice, I continue to post your articles even when there is disagreement.

We can learn from one another. Who among us could not do a bit more to change the political landscape to better reflect our views and objectives? And who among us would not benefit from a good dose of realism when it comes to the looming threat of government oppression?

Two examples highlight the value of both the pragmatists and the three percenters.

William Wilberforce patiently but consistently worked through the British Parliament for decades to accomplish the abolition of slavery in England. He suffered defeat after defeat, year after year. But in the end, after 30 years of hard work in the system, he won. And not a single shot was fired.

On the other hand, I wonder how many lives would have been saved and how thoroughly history would have been changed for the better had courageous men and women resisted the advance of Adolf Hitler in Germany and in Europe. It would have taken firepower, not words. But had the German citizens not been disarmed, and had they used their firearms against the Nazis, I have to wonder if perhaps the world could have avoided the Holocaust, particularly had Churchill convinced a stubborn and short-sighted Parliament to intervene early-on.

Sometimes deadly force is the only option citizens have against a corrupt, oppressive government. And sometimes things can change within a society through the work of persistent, patient diplomacy within the system.

We need both.

So rather than blast each other, why not learn from each other, and recognize that both sides have their value?

UNC Cancels Christmas--Another Example of NC's Shame

Here at The Liberty Sphere we have often lamented the ever-increasing creeping crawl of liberalism-socialism in the state of North Carolina, which came to full fruition during the 2008 Presidential election.

Thumbing its nose at its great heritage and conservative values, the state was one of the few southern states to go into the Barack Obama column.

And now, the University of North Carolina decides to cancel Christmas.

What was once a long tradition at the various campuses of the massive UNC system, the main campus being at Chapel Hill, has given way to the scourge of multiculturalism, anti-Christian bias, and liberal elitist snobbery.

Until this year, Christmas trees could be seen in the library buildings on its main campus. This year, however, the University decided to ban the trees.

The reason? Complaints by some library staffers who were offended that the library would 'favor one religion over another.'

The thing that is ironic about the matter, however, is that the Christmas tree is not a uniquely Christian symbol in any fashion. Medieval Christians took what had been a pagan symbol and 'Christianized it,' making it a centerpiece for Christmas holiday celebrations.

For this reason many who espouse no religion at all will display a Christmas tree during the season.

It would be very interesting to discover whether or not the University makes special accommodations for Muslim students in ways they will not accommodate Christians or any other religion, as other universities have done.

If they do, I would not be a bit surprised.

Gov't Control Key to Auto Bailout

According to sources in Congress, a plan being circulated by proponents of the bailout of the automotive industry stipulates government control over the restructuring of the industry in exchange for federal money.

This only goes to prove that federal dollars always come with strings attached.

If Congress agrees to grant billions of tax dollars to the big 3 auto giants, then Congress will expect oversight control over a massive restructuring of the industry.

And we all know how 'efficient' and 'cost-effective' government is.

It would be sort of like putting the ChiComs in charge of restructuring North Korea to be more friendly toward the idea of human rights.

10 Sobering Facts From 1930s Germany

1. At the time of the rise of Nazi power, Germany had a democratic constitution.

2. When Hitler first rose to national prominence, he was not viewed as extremist.

3. Hitler's feigned 'warm personality' charmed the German electorate.

4. Hitler promised hope and change during troubled economic times.

5. When the German electorate allowed gun registration, they did so with no inkling that in time their gun registration records would aid the Nazis in confiscating their firearms.

6. The government that placed Hitler in power was duly elected by the German people according to the provisions of their democratic constitution.

7. As early as 1931, a young man across the channel in Great Britain by the name of Winston Churchill began to warn Britons about Adolf Hitler.

8. Voices among the German people began to rise up in opposition to Hitler, only to find themselves arrested and jailed. One of these was a Lutheran minister by the name of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was later executed for helping an insurgent movement plan the assassination of Adolf Hitler.

9. Winston Churchill stepped up his rhetoric against Hitler, warning that unless Britain and the rest of Europe stopped him, there would be a heavy price to pay later.

10. By the time Hitler began the systematic elimination ('extermination') of Jews, Catholics, political dissidents, and others deemed a threat to his government, the citizens had already been rendered powerless through disarmament and intimidation.

A Question to Ponder: At what point above could the German citizens have resisted their elected government and prevented Hitler from advancing to the Holocaust?

Point to ponder: So far in the history of the world, no nation has ever implemented registration of firearms and failed to eventually proceed to confiscation.

2-Month Income Tax Holiday

As a much better alternative than the Pelosi-Reid-Obama-Paulson plan of multi-billion dollar bailouts, a Texas Congressman has proposed a 2-month income tax holiday in their place.

U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) has proposed that the federal government simply stop taxing citizens for 2 full months out of the year.

We, the citizens would get to keep the entirety of what we make without paying any taxes on it for 2 months.

For a family making $70,000 per year, this would mean over $11,000 of their annual salary would be entirely tax-free.

I believe this is an idea that's worth trying. Read the rest of the proposal at Human Events.

'Ignorance Reigns Supreme'

In a stunning syndicated op-ed on just how thoroughly American citizens have been dumbed down by our sorry educational system, Dr. Walter Williams points to the disheartening survey that shows less than 50% of Americans can name the 3 branches of government.

It only gets worse from there.

Only 27% know that the Bill of Rights prohibits the U.S. from establishing an official religion of the state.

The literacy level of Americans when it comes to civics is remarkably poor. 71% failed the civics test.

Based on a review of these stats, along with data from a few other surveys, Williams makes this dire assessment:
With limited thinking abilities and knowledge of our heritage, we Americans set ourselves up as easy prey for charlatans, hustlers and quacks. If we don't know the constitutional limits placed on Congress and the White House, politicians can do just about anything they wish to control our lives, from deciding what kind of light bulbs we can use to whether the government can take over our health care system or bailout failing businesses. We just think Congress can do anything upon which they can get a majority vote.

Read the whole thing and ponder over it carefully. We need to do some serious revamping of our educational system from top to bottom, even if it means laying to rest government-run schools.

'Shadow War'

A vast 'shadow war' is occurring among the top military intelligence forces of the world even as citizens of the various countries in the world are focused on the conventional wars they can see.

This shadow war is referred to as 'informational warfare' (IW).

All of the major powers of the world are engaged in it, and such engagement has become a necessity in a world which is dominated by 'cyber information.'

The world's military powers are spending billions on information warfare (IW), but--for obvious reasons--they don't publicize their capabilities. As a result, we only get occasional glimpses of the growing battle in cyberspace, as illustrated by Russian attacks against Estonian computer networks in 2007, and more recently, against Georgian systems during the run-up to this summer's war with the Tbilisi government. American capabilities in IW remain equally guarded, but there are occasional displays that make their way into the public arena.

Among free nations, the United States and Israel in particular make use of informational warfare to gain the upper hand in fighting terrorism and other threats, such as the growing Russian menace.

In From the Cold has more on this fascinating aspect of post-modern warfare.

Pelosi Keeps 'Blue Dog' Dems Under Her Heel

When the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006, many had hoped that the more conservative 'blue dog' Democrats would have a major impact on the direction of their Party.

Those hopes have been largely dashed.

If the blue dogs have made any progress toward having a moderating impact on the Democratic leadership either in the House OR the Senate, you certainly can't tell it by the actions of either chamber.

In fact, in the House, for example, ultra-liberal Speaker Nancy Pelosi has only solidified and strengthened her iron-fisted grip on her underlings.

According to an analysis conducted by The Hill, during the last 2 years Pelosi has emerged as the undisputed head of the Democrats in the House, and she is not afraid to use her power to punish blue dogs and reward the like-minded liberals who do things her way.

And the blue dogs simply acquiesce.
Pelosi, the unquestioned leader in the House whose enormous power seems to grow by the day, has sought to placate both factions. And to this point, she has succeeded.

Few members clash publicly with Pelosi. Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.) and Jane Harman (D-Calif.), who were at odds with Pelosi over the last few years, were stripped of their top committee posts.

Centrists are grumbling that their growing ranks aren’t represented in the leadership team that Pelosi shaped through back-room arm-twisting. The so-called Blue Dogs, while publicly celebrating President-elect Obama’s commitment to “pay-go,” are wondering when the stimulus balloon stops expanding.

Dingell in particular was one of the few Democrats in leadership positions who supports gun rights. But Pelosi ditched him in favor of one of the most liberal anti-gun nutcases in the House--Henry Waxman.

So much for the 'power and influence' of conservatives within the Democratic Party.

'Trickle-Down' Economics: Dems Believe In It Too

Despite their public rhetoric blasting conservatives for adhering to so-called 'trickle-down' economics when it comes to tax policy, the Democrats and Liberals are presently proving to the world that they believe in the trickle down theory too.

According to a report at Blogstitution, when liberals support government bailouts for businesses they are proving that they, too, adhere to the trickle down theory.

The theory as understood by liberals is that by stimulating growth in the economy by funneling billions, even trillions, of tax dollars into the top tier--the coffers of large corporations--that money will eventually 'trickle down' to the rest of the economy, improving the lot of middle management, blue-collar workers, and the nation's economy in general.

So, if this theory supposedly works for government bailouts, why not tax policy?

By giving tax breaks to the top 5% of earners in the nation, who already pay the most in taxes anyway, those wage earners then funnel the money into investment, business expansion, and the creation of jobs...which 'trickles down' to the rest of us, obviously.

There is only one plausible explanation for this obvious contradiction among liberals.

When they take our money and spend it as they see fit, then the trickle down theory is great. But if the taxpayers are allowed to keep more of their own money to invest it as they see fit, the trickle down theory is 'oppressive.'

It's all a matter of who gets to spend the money. Democrats want to take it and spend it for us. Conservatives want the people to keep more of their own money and spend it as they see fit.

Why There Can't Be a New 'New Deal'

Obama supporters have not been shy about comparing their man to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Supposedly Obama is set to bring about a new 'New Deal' for modern America.

Like FDR, so the theory goes, Obama will come in at a critical time in the financial markets and 'save the day' much as FDR supposedly did during the Great Depression.

Aside from the fact that FDR did not end the Great Depression--World War II did that--Obama's opportunity for doing many of the things Roosevelt did in terms of expanding government's role in society is very slim.

The reason for this simple fact is that FDR was not facing a multi-trillion dollar national debt and burdensome budget deficit as Obama now faces.

True, money was hard to come by in 1932. But in those days the government managed debt and budgets in a very different fashion than that to which we have become accustomed today.

Unlike 1932, today America is way over its head in debt to foreign governments who have bought up American debt with the assurance, at least until now, that we would be good for it.

Unfortunately, the U.S. is no longer in a position to guarantee any foreign entity that its debt will be paid in full. There is too much uncertainty in the markets at present for there to be any such guarantees, given that the present crisis is worldwide and not just domestic.

Thus, the U.S. would be totally dependent on foreign investments to expand the role of government in order to implement 'New Deal' type programs.

In short, we don't have the money. And our ability to borrow that money from other sources is quickly becoming a questionable proposition.

Where, then, is Obama going to get the money to implement the programs he has promised?

We have bailed out Wall Street when we didn't have the money. U.S. debt skyrocketed. We are bailing out mortgages when we don't have the money. U.S. debt will skyrocket again.

And now every business in sight, in addition to local and state governments, want a federal bailout. With what? And by whom?

Apparently even the most intellectually astute citizens have no inkling of just how much trouble our economy is in. There is not and never has been an endless supply of money. When large corporations are on the brink of going under, in addition to smaller business, where is government going to get tax money?

When citizens lose their jobs and tax revenues plummet, where is government going to get tax money?

When Asian, European, and British markets are experiencing the same dire circumstances as our own markets, just how much longer can the U.S. reasonably expect them to cover our debt?

This is why I maintain that another 'New Deal' is impossible. The money is simply not there.

Obama to Nix Tax Hike on Big Oil

From Reuters:
President-elect Barack Obama is not planning to implement a windfall profit tax on oil companies because prices have dropped below $80 a barrel, an aide said on Tuesday.

"President-elect Obama announced the policy during the campaign because oil prices were above $80 per barrel," an aide on Obama's transition team said. "They are currently below that now and expected to stay below that."

It is unclear as to why the price-point of 80 bucks per barrel is the deciding factor. But one thing is certain--Obama believes that success must be punished by outrageously higher taxes, even for small businesses, as he told Joe the Plumber.

The obvious question, of course, is how Obama can maintain his integrity by making such a move when he practically castrated John McCain during the campaign for taking such a stand on taxes on big oil.

CHAMBLISS WINS! 60-Seat Dem Majority Blocked

Blocking the attempt of the Democratic majority to gain a 60-seat filibuster-proof Senate super-majority, Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss has defeated challenger Democrat Jim Martin in a runoff election held Tuesday in Georgia.

Chambliss' victory effectively puts an end to the Democrats' quest for a 60-seat super-majority that would have prevented the minority from using the filibuster to block blatantly extremist legislation put forth by Barack Obama and liberal Democrats.

This is great news for those who believe it is vital that there be at least one check on the unbridled power of the Obama-Democratic party steamroller in Washington.

The only other outstanding Senate race yet to be decided is the recount in Minnesota that pits Republican incumbent Norm Coleman against Democrat challenger Al Franken.

Coleman appears to have the lead in the recount, but Franken is attempting an end-run around the voting process by pleading with the Democratic majority in Congress to nullify the vote and make him the winner.

It is yet to be seen if there will be a protracted legal challenge to the vote in Minnesota once the recount is complete.

Faith-Based Hospitals in Danger Under Obama

Barack Obama, along with his liberal Democrat colleagues, will pose a serious threat to faith-based hospitals.

Obama is set to sign a bill into law that is known as the 'Freedom of Choice Act,' which would force hospitals to perform abortions or risk losing federal funds.

This sweeping piece of legislation is the darling of the Left, abortion-rights activists, infanticide-proponents, and other extremist groups in America.

The Act would have the effect of overriding almost all state laws imposing sensible limits on abortion, clearing the way for a nation-wide policy of abortion-on-demand.

And hospitals that are owned and operated by faith groups would be forced to begin performing abortions or lose federal dollars for healthcare.

The Catholic Bishop of Arlington, Virginia has stated that he will defy the new Act if it becomes law.

Good for him.

This should be the stance of all conservative faith-based hospitals including the scores of Baptist, Catholic, and Seventh-Day Adventist medical facilities around the country.

In this one act alone, the Obama administration is proving to be the single most pro-abortion administration this country has ever seen--a sobering fact that should give serious pause to those Christians who went into the voting booth and pulled the lever for Obama.

This is yet another example of the statement of one of the Founding Fathers, 'The citizens get the government they deserve.'

This is the consequence of electing this man to office. And there is much more to come.

Palin Ignites Crowd for Chambliss in Georgia

Sarah Palin traveled all the way to Georgia to fire up the crowds on behalf of embattled U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, who faces a runoff with Democratic challenger Jim Martin today.

Making 4 stops across the state, Governor Palin was met with enthusiastic crowds as she asked Georgians to send Saxby Chambliss back to the U.S. Senate.

The Governor also encountered many who are already making plans for 2012, carrying signs that stated, 'Palin for President in 2012.'

If ever there were a time when Georgians need to step up to the plate to do the right thing for the country, it is now. Saxby Chambliss may be the only thing standing in the way of a 60-seat filibuster-proof Senate.

Americans have shown time and again that they prefer a divided government in Washington over one that is dominated by one Party or one ideology.

With 60 seats in the Senate, Barack Obama and the Democrats would have basically no reasonable checks on unbridled power. They could do anything they wanted no matter what any of us think.

And as dangerous for the country as we have consistently proved Barack Obama to be, the citizens need the reassurance that at least in the Senate there is a built-in safety-valve to prevent reckless, unbridled power--the filibuster.

An 'International Environmental Court'?

Stephen Hockman QC is proposing a body similar to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to be the supreme legal authority on issues regarding the environment.

The first role of the new body would be to enforce international agreements on cutting greenhouse gas emissions set to be agreed next year.

But the court would also fine countries or companies that fail to protect endangered species or degrade the natural environment and enforce the "right to a healthy environment".

The Telegraph of the U.K. has the whole story.

It would appear that the neo-Communists of the European Union, who clearly wish to 'rule the world' as they attempted to do with their 'International Criminal Court,' are on the move to implement and enforce global enviro-nutcase dogma.

Barack Obama has stated he is all for it.

ALERT! Geller Demands End to All Gun Control

This is a Liberty Sphere special alert.

Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs is calling for an immediate end to all gun control and an end to all pending legislation that would restrict the rights of citizens to carry and use guns.

The stunning announcement came in response to the news of the terrorist massacre in India, which was a direct result of the failure of the Indian government to allow their citizens to be armed.

Geller notes that New York City has some of the most stringent gun control laws in the nation, yet nobody in America needs its firearms rights any more than New Yorkers.

This call to arms is one of the most stunning announcements yet in the current fight to retain Constitutional protections of our rights in light of the coming oppression under the Obama administration.

Do yourselves a favor and click on the link above to read one of the strongest calls to arms issued in modern times.

Wisdom for the Storms Ahead

A statement of advice is found in The Bible which says, 'Be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.'

Very good advice, it would seem, for those who would act and behave with wisdom.

Wisdom is not in knowing that you have the power to act but in knowing when and how to act.

As we face great uncertainty in the coming days with regard to the Constitutional protections of our God-given rights, the issue it seems is not allowing ourselves to react in knee-jerk fashion to every single perceived threat to liberty.

The key issue is to act, not react, in response to actual, verified threats to our safety, our right to self-defense, our right to live peacefully in freedom.

The way of the Timothy McVeigh phenomenon is NOT our way. We want absolutely no harm to come to anyone, except in the case of clear self-defense.

On the other hand, when it comes to defending the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the lives of those we love, and our own lives, we will use the resources and tools the Founding Fathers used to procure and guard liberty.

Our forebears were not blood-thirsty barbarians but men and women of reason. And they left us with a clear heritage that spoke of their high regard for human life and liberty, as well as the means by which to protect life and liberty.

This is an entirely reasonable response to direct encroachments upon human freedom.

So it is today. But we have to be absolutely certain that when we act it is in response to a direct affront.

'Crisis Will Help Us Regain Power'

Echoing the sentiments of Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, who stated that the economic crisis is a perfect opportunity for Liberals to seize power and expand government control over the economy, Russian Communists stated on Sunday that 'crisis will help us regain power.'

Despite the breakup of the old Soviet Union, which sent the Communists into political exile, the Russian Commies didn't really go anywhere.

Instead, they have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to seize power and regain control of the country.

This is always the modus operandi of Leftists, Socialists, and Communists. Economic disaster is never viewed as a sad source of pain for the citizens but as a delightful, golden opportunity to seize more power.

We have seen it with the likes of Barack Obama and his minions, and now we are seeing it with the old Soviet Commies.

Tulsa Today Bumped Offline After Obama Story

Tulsa Today, a major online source of news for the Oklahoma area, was knocked offline completely by their Internet Service Provider a mere 2 hours after posting a story questioning the authenticity of Barack Obama's birth certificate.

And why is this important?

So far those who have dared question 'The Chairman's' qualifications for the Presidency have been characterized as right-wing kooks, conspiracy theorists, and other such derogatory terms, all with the goal of trivializing the charge.

Websites and blogs that have dared to do the hard research on the subject and post it online have suffered retaliation from Google and other online services.

But now the story of the fake birth certificate is gradually seeping into 'mainstream' media sources as journalists who formerly were mesmerized by the Obama charisma are now waking up to the possibility that something terribly afoul has taken place.

Pamela Geller did the original research along with official certification by a forensics expert who says the copy of the certificate is fake. Geller also suffered retaliation at the hands of Google.

It is a big mistake, however, to think that this is an isolated incident that happens sometimes to controversial blogs.

Tulsa Today is into hard journalism, and when they do a piece of investigative journalism the facts are reported as they were discovered by the reporter in question.

In other words, they keep opinion and commentary separate from the hard news.

When Tulsa Today published the story on the Obama birth certificate, they were inundated with new readers. Their local service provider was unable to keep up with the demand, and thus, the online news service went dark.

Apparently Tulsa Today has found a new ISP, and all is well.

But the point is that the controversy surrounding Barack Obama's birth certificate is a legitimate issue and poses a major Constitutional question concerning his eligibility to serve.

A growing chorus of journalists and citizens want some answers.

It costs 10 bucks for Obama to provide the proof of the certificate's authenticity. This he has refused to do. Instead, he has spent nearly a million bucks and several months fighting the request to produce the certificate.

Why?

Google Admits Suppressing Free Speech

In a startling revelation, Google has admitted to its own form of 'censorship'--the suppression of free speech on the Internet.

The New York Times--not exactly a bastion of right-wing 'nutcases'--reported that Google has engaged in massive manipulation of information and quotes Google's own Nicole Wong as proof.

Wong has been given broad powers within Google to monitor its search engine, its service for blogs entitled 'Blogger,' and YouTube (owned by Google) in order to determined which user-generated controversial material stays up and which is taken down.

Thus, Wong and her colleagues in the monitoring division of Google have more power and control over what information is allowed on the Internet than any other group of persons in the world.

And, as expected, when political ideology gets into the mix, decisions are made that suppress the free dissemination of information, such as with Michelle Malkin's short YouTube production on extremist Islam.

Malkin's video was banned by YouTube for supposed 'offensive' content, yet Google allowed graphic Jihadist videos to remain on the Internet.

Thus, it is not difficult to understand nor accept as the truth the fact that Google singled out Atlas Shrugs for content suppression. This is precisely the type of thing Google does, and it has openly admitted doing it.

A First-Hand Account of Sharp Spike in Gun Sales

As anyone who knows something about Alabama can tell you, there is absolutely nothing short of a dire emergency that would interfere with the Alabama-Auburn game, known as 'the Iron Bowl.'

Yet on Saturday something surely did interfere with the game, and it was not a dire emergency. Well, not the type of emergency most of us might think.

A gun show was held at the massive Birmingham-Jefferson County Convention complex on Saturday, at the same time the Alabama-Auburn game was being played just a few short miles down the road in Tuscaloosa.

Normally on the day of the Iron Bowl, central Alabama, which includes Birmingham, is a virtual ghost town. The fans who are not present at the game are at home or at sports bars watching it on TV or listening to it on the radio.

But today, a vast number of those fans were at the gun show. So many, in fact, that it was difficult to get in the door. The lines were long, the tables were crowded, and the guns were flying out the door.

Our fellow gun blogger, Mike Vanderboegh, was there in the middle of the action.

Mike reports that consumers were packed into the arena like sardines in a can. And it was clear from the start that the primary motivating factor for the unprecedented sales of firearms and ammo was the pending Obama administration.

One thing is for sure, if Barack Obama and his gang of thugs are intent on coming after the guns and ammo, they are going to be faced with millions of citizens with arsenals stockpiled in their homes.

This, my friends, is a promise, and the numbers prove it.

Obama's True Colors Lie Beneath Radar Screen

Over the past few days I have been literally sickened by the the chorus of supposedly 'conservative' voices lauding Barack Obama for his 'moderate' Cabinet choices.

Larry Kudlow of National Review is pleased. Peggy Noonan is pleased. George Will is pleased.

And to add insult to injury, the 'Beltway Boys' on Fox News, Fred Barnes and Mort Kandracke, actually stated with a straight face Saturday afternoon that Obama was 'moving to the right.'

I hate to rain on your parade, boys, but balderdash. I see Murdoch and Ailes have gotten to you as well with his 'lay off of Obama' directive.

Obama is clearly NOT moving to the center or the right, despite how things appear with some of his Cabinet choices. There are more than enough wild-eyed Leftwing ideologues around to more than make up for the so-called 'centrists' in the Cabinet.

Obama's true colors are shining through in his under-the-radar screen selections of personnel who will form his White House Staff and political advisers.

He has chosen a hatchet man of the Left, Rahm Emanuel, for his Chief of Staff, and ultra-liberal gun-grabber Eric Holder as his Attorney-General.

But perhaps one of the most telling and disturbing actions of all on the part of Obama is the recent re-hiring of rabid anti-Israel demagogue Samantha Power.

Power had resigned from the Obama campaign after she referred to Hillary Clinton as a 'mobster.'

She has also called for the U.S. to invade Israel to force a settlement with the Palestinians.

Darkblog has much more on the thinking of Power and her boss, Barack Obama, HERE.

Needless to say, the Leftist radicalism inherent in the Barack Obama phenomenon is flying beneath the radar screen, but it is still there. While the media and the public focus on the 'centrist' and supposedly 'brilliant' Cabinet choices, behind the scenes Obama is loading up his White House staff and political advisory positions with the extremists who have defined his Leftist political ideology the entirety of his career.

'American Jewish Indifference'

Middle East expert and world-renown journalist Caroline Glick has written a scathing indictment of American Jews, stating that apparently for most Jews living in the U.S. the fate of Israel is of no political consequence.

Glick makes the charge in a new article entitled, 'American Jewish Indifference.'

To me it has always been a baffling curiosity that Jews in America seem to prefer Democrats to Republicans, Liberals to Conservatives. This is in spite of the fact that Democrats and Liberals are usually the first ones to sell Israel and Jewish interests down the road, preferring instead to cozy up to Palestinian terrorists and support the dividing of Jerusalem.

Barack Obama is a perfect case in point, as Glick aptly observes.

As an American Jew who now works in Jerusalem, Glick is uniquely qualified to provide insight into this phenomenon, examining the possible reasons for the indifference.

McCarville: Palin Most Popular Web-Search

If you thought that Barack Obama is now the most popular search-engine topic on the Web, you would be wrong. The correct answer is Sarah Palin.

According to Mike McCarville, who cites a Politico report, it is Palin and not Obama who dominates search engine inquiries.

All of this only goes to show that Sarah Palin remains a highly popular figure in the nation, despite the loss of John McCain to Barack Obama and despite the notion of the liberal mainstream media that she was a 'drag on the ticket.'

According to a recent survey conducted by Rasmussen, Palin remains the top choice among GOP voters for the 2012 Presidential race. In that poll, Palin is preferred by over 80% of GOP voters.

This is great news. I would like to see Palin run in 2012. She is one of the few conservatives, Bobby Jindal being another, who could beat Obama.

Of course, by 2012 Obama may have so run the nation into the ground that voters would vote for Dick Cheney rather than allow another 4 years of Obama. But we'll see.
