Obama's Fatal Foreign Policy Error

TO UNDERSTAND HOW it came to pass that six weeks after Operation Cast Lead, the US has joined the nations of the world in funding Hamas and is curtailing its military assistance to Israel, it is necessary to understand Israel's domestic politics.

What a complete, bumbling, irresponsible, and reckless buffoon! Israel now has a rational Prime Minister in Netanyahu. We in America have President Dumbo.

Obama's Policy on Iran Blames America

Within his first two weeks of office, Barack Obama has made a series of glaring blunders with regard to U.S. foreign policy. One of those blunders involves a change in U.S. policy toward Iran.

As Middle East expert and world-renown journalist Caroline Glick notes,

The most sympathetic interpretation of Obama's desire to move ahead with diplomatic engagement in spite of the mullocracy's preconditions is that he has simply failed to countenance the significance of Iran's demands. This means that Obama remains convinced that the US is indeed to blame for the supposed crisis of confidence that the Islamic world suffers from in its dealings with America. By this reasoning, it is for the US, not for Teheran, to show its sincerity, because the US, rather than Teheran, is to blame for the dismal state of relations prevailing between the two countries.

Thus, the 'Obama Doctrine' is that America, not the terrorist regime in Iran, is to blame for the dismal state of affairs between the 2 nations.

And therefore, according to Glick, Israel will be forced to change its policy accordingly:

And under these circumstances, Israel's next government - which all opinion polls conclude will be led by Likud leader Binyamin Netanyahu - will have to adopt certain policies.

First, in keeping with his campaign rhetoric, Netanyahu will have to make preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons his most urgent priority upon entering office.

And second, to withstand US pressure to allow the Obama administration time to develop its ties with Teheran, (time that Iran will use to build its first nuclear bomb), Netanyahu will need to form as large and wide a governing coalition as possible. All issues that divide the Israeli electorate between Right and Left must be temporarily set aside.

In the age of Honest Obama, Israel is alone in recognizing the necessity of preventing Iran from acquiring the means to destroy the Jewish state. Consequently, Netanyahu's government will need to proceed with all deliberate speed to take whatever actions are necessary to prevent Israel's destruction.

This is serious, life-and-death stuff about which we speak here. Be sure to read the entirety of Caroline Glick's stunning analysis of the dangers to come here.

Glick: The Real Reason for the War in Gaza

As always, Middle East expert and internationally-renown journalist Caroline Glick hits the nail on the head:

ONE OF the troubling aspects shared by both the IDF campaign and the diplomatic offensive is that both ignore the principal cause of the war. As a consequence, Israel has ruled out the possibility of actually winning a true victory in its current fight with Hamas. Here, too, our leaders ignore the true cause of the war because they know that they will pay no price for doing so.

Israel is not fighting Hamas today because it agreed to a six-month cease-fire with the terrorist regime in Gaza last June. And it is not fighting today because Hamas decided that it wants control over Gaza's international borders.

Israel is fighting a war with Hamas today because Israel withdrew from Gaza three and a half years ago. If Israel had not withdrawn its military forces from Gaza and forcibly expelled 8,000 Israeli citizens from their homes and farms in September 2005, it would not be fighting this war today. If Israel had not withdrawn, if it had retained its forces in Gaza and retained its communities - on whose ruins the IDF now fights - in Gaza, Hamas would probably never have taken over. And even if Hamas had taken over, it would never have been able to threaten a million Israelis with missiles and rockets and mortars.

Glick: Hamas Marches to Victory

Middle East expert and internationally renown journalist Caroline Glick believes that Hamas is marching to victory and that the Israeli government is allowing it.

Writing in the Jewish World Review, Glick stated the following:

What the media have declined to notice is that the outcome of the war will not be determined by the number of Hamas buildings the IAF destroys. The outcome of this war -- like the outcome of all wars - will be determined by one factor only: Which side will achieve the goals it set out for itself at the outset of the conflict and which side will concede its goals?

Depressingly, the current machinations of the Olmert-Livni-Barak government demonstrate that when the fighting is over, Hamas and not Israel will be able to declare that it accomplished its goals in this war.

In other words, Glick believes that the current Israeli government is making the very same mistake that was made in 2006 at the end of the Second Lebanon War. Thus, since the government has already decided to lose, then risking lives by a ground assault is futile and stupid.

'How Conservatives Lose Elections'

Middle East expert and internationally noted journalist Caroline Glick has written an insightful article entitled 'How Conservatives Lose Elections.' The article points out that Israeli candidate for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making the same mistake John McCain made during the 2008 Presidential campaign.

With the exception of failing to note that John McCain is no real conservative, Glick perceptively observes that no conservative candidate for public office can win by alienating his/her Party base.

Such a tactic in all likelihood cost McCain the election, and it threatens to cost Netanyahu his in Israel. The article provides the details.

Glick: Netanyaho, Obama, and Future of Israel

It is abundantly clear, based upon Obama's statements and his choices for foreign policy advisers, that the incoming President will make it extremely difficult for Israeli politicians who are opposed to peace plans that mandate concessions to enemies who wish to annihilate it.

Bill Clinton did the same thing during the 1990s, the result being that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had an extremely difficult task in holding off Israel's mortal enemies due to immense pressure from the American administration.

We are now facing another era in American-Israeli relations where the Hebrew nation is being placed on the defensive against a huge worldwide consensus that contends that it alone is to blame for the ills of the Middle East--the very same propaganda put forth by Hamas, Hizbollah, and other Islamic terrorist organizations.

It is no surprise that the Obama administration will jump on board this shameful display and once again pressure Israel to simply hand over Jerusalem and other key areas. Anti-Israeli advisers have been chosen by Obama, and some of these are retreads from the Clinton years.

In Caroline Glick's latest article, these issues are explored in depth.

'American Jewish Indifference'

Middle East expert and world-renown journalist Caroline Glick has written a scathing indictment of American Jews, stating that apparently for most Jews living in the U.S. the fate of Israel is of no political consequence.

Glick makes the charge in a new article entitled, 'American Jewish Indifference.'

To me it has always been a baffling curiosity that Jews in America seem to prefer Democrats to Republicans, Liberals to Conservatives. This is in spite of the fact that Democrats and Liberals are usually the first ones to sell Israel and Jewish interests down the road, preferring instead to cozy up to Palestinian terrorists and support the dividing of Jerusalem.

Barack Obama is a perfect case in point, as Glick aptly observes.

As an American Jew who now works in Jerusalem, Glick is uniquely qualified to provide insight into this phenomenon, examining the possible reasons for the indifference.

Destined for Defeat?

Washington, DC (TLS). The defeatist mentality of many in Congress and some within the general electorate is cause for a creeping malaise of negativism concerning the War in Iraq and the War on Terror. It seems that many are resigned to an American humiliation. Some even hope for such a humiliation.

The offenders are not far to find.

However, Caroline Glick of the Jerusalem Post writes in an excellent article in the Jewish World Review that America's defeat need not be a foregone conclusion. Despite Pelosi's felonious forays into conducting U.S. foreign policy (which is not her job) with terrorist regimes, there is a clear path to victory for the U.S. in the region if we will but put aside our trepidity and get the job done with resolve.

Colleges Provide Platform for Muslim Extremists

Washington, DC (TLS). American college and university campuses are increasingly implicated in giving voice to Jihadists who proceed to advocate extremist views that place citizens' lives in danger. The Liberty Sphere conducted an exclusive investigation last month into terror cells in North Carolina, which revealed that the university campus is a prime launching pad for these cold-blooded murderers.

Greensboro's North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University was the spawning bed for several of the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks. In addition, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is home to an active Muslim group that sponsors campus speakers who use that platform as a means to spread a message of hate toward 'infidels.' The Raleigh chapter of 'MAS,' the Muslim-American Society, collaborates with members of UNC's faculty to sponsor these extremist speakers who advocate for the Jihad.

It was one of these meetings that led Muslim Mohammad Teheri-azar to ram his vehicle into a group of students on the campus of UNC, an attack that injured nine. The enraged Teheri-azar had attended a meeting sponsored by MAS and a group of UNC faculty that featured an extremist Muslim speaker who displayed vitriolic rhetoric aimed at Jews and 'infidels.'

The Liberty Sphere has also reported on several major university campuses that routinely sponsor extremist Muslim speakers. Yet those same campuses have reneged on invitations to speakers such as Nonie Darwish under pressure from campus and community Muslim groups.

You may remember that it was Darwish who was raised in a Muslim environment and experienced the Jihad first-hand. Darwish later repudiated the Jihad and became an outspoken advocate for Israel, the United States, and the War on Terror. More than once Darwish has been silenced by threats leveled at university administrators who had issued invitations for her to speak.

The Muslim extremists had different plans.

And thus, college and university campuses around the country, and around the world, have provided Jihadists a powerful platform from which to deliver their hate-filled propaganda and recruit young Muslims into the ranks of the Jihad.

In the following detailed article, Caroline Glick delves into this growing problem on college campuses. Click here to read Glick's latest enlightening article:

REALITY CHECK: Showdown Between U.S. and Iran

Washington, DC (TLS). The coming showdown between the United States and Iran is inevitable. The only question is, will America face such a showdown from a position of strength or weakness?

This is the question Mideast expert and journalist Caroline Glick asks in her new column. As Glick correctly points out, President Bush and Secretary Rice are gambling with high stakes in hopes that their latest foreign policy adventures in the Mideast and North Korea will buy them time. To be fair, however, Congress is putting unprecedented pressure on the President to halt all American involvement in the region.

Nancy Pelosi AND Hillary Clinton both stated this week that the President doesn't even have the power to launch an attack on Iran, in spite of the fact that we have proof positive they are supplying missiles and weapons to kill our soldiers and Iraqi citizens. This is not to mention their nuclear weapons program.

Apparently Pelosi and Clinton are not aware of the Presidential powers granted by the U.S. Constitution. The country can carry out limited missions to dismantle Iran's nuclear plants and its government headquarters without a declaration of all-out war from Congress. Bill Clinton utilized this power many times. But, as always, with Democrats this tactic is only justifiable if one of THEM does it.

When that dreadful day comes as the U.S. will be forced to face down a nuclear Iran, we can lay the blame squarely at the feet of pacifistic cowards like Pelosi and Clinton--and John Murtha--for the carnage that will surely befall us if we are in a weakened position.

Better to nip this beast in the bud NOW while it is yet an infant.

Here is Glick's article:
