WOW! You Don't Say!

One Democratic Senator on the Senate Finance Committee said the following about the 'healthcare reform' bill Congress is considering:

Sen. Thomas Carper (D.-Del.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, told CNSNews.com that he does not “expect” to read the actual legislative language of the committee’s health care bill because it is “confusing” and that anyone who claims they are going to read it and understand it is fooling people.

“I don’t expect to actually read the legislative language because reading the legislative language is among the more confusing things I’ve ever read in my life,” Carper told CNSNews.com.

And so, Senator, the question is, how can you or anyone else in your Party in Congress vote in favor of bills that you clearly do not comprehend?

Back to Business on Healthcare

Congress is now back in session, and citizens should be wary.

Will the loud, angry outcry from the public on healthcare be heeded by our illustrious elected officials? Apparently not, as we report today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

One good sign, however, is that 23 Democrats in the House have stated they will NOT vote for the healthcare reform bill.

Senator Feinstein Corrects My Examiner Article!

From the office of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-California...I was wrong in my conclusions about the retirees who wanted a meeting with her about healthcare...

...which led to this correction at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

I wish to be fair in my articles, and if I am wrong I will say so.

"Lies, Damn Lies, and Health Care"

Studies already show the legislation's eroding popularity, as citizens find out the problems inherent in socialized medicine, the tax increases necessary to finance it, and the deception politicians use to inflate the number of uninsured Americans.

(From the article 'Lies, Damn Lies, and Healthcare' in Front Page Magazine).

Make no mistake about it, the Obama Administration and Democrats on the Hill are lying about the numbers of uninsured Americans in order to falsely justify dismantling our present healthcare system in lieu of a government-controlled form of socialized medicine.

The costs to the taxpayers are astronomical, the problems with the plan are insurmountable, and the deception used to market the program is inexcusable.

Read all about it in this special report at Front Page Magazine.

Obamacare--The Cure is Worse Than the Illness

The devil is in the details, and it is becoming all too apparent that the Obamacare bill in the Congress is a 'fix' or 'cure' that is much worse than the illness.

Read all about it in my latest today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Please read and pass along. Thanks!

Second Amendment News Roundup for 7/16/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Snow Flakes in Hell continues with today's updates on the Sotomayor hearings in the Senate.

Texas Fred has urgent, late-breaking news that House Democrats have moved to put on the front-burner the murderous healthcare rationing bill that Obama wants. Time to move to get this STOPPED or else you will be burying your elderly loved ones!

Insight on Freedom reminds us that in addition to giving healthcare to illegal aliens by robbing seniors of their Medicare benefits and private insurance, Obama and the Democrats (and RINOS such as McCain) are going to shove amnesty for illegals down our throats very shortly. The assault is on, folks!

Notoriously Conservative, for some much-needed comic relief, provides some hilarious Obama jokes.

Days of our Trailers notes that the NRA has finally gotten on board with actively opposing Sotomayor. But, to be perfectly honest, from my perspective, it is way too little and much too late. This should have been done MONTHS ago!

Mike McCarville reports that U.S. Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma was totally unimpressed with Sotomayor's answers, including her views on the 2nd Amendment. Coburn has been a stellar patriot in the Senate.

Rev. Kharma has an excellent MUST-read today entitled, 'Look Away, Ignore the Man Behind the Curtain (again).' Read it all.

From John Jacob H: 'Anyone Remember Miguel Estrada, the Wise Latino Man?' Great read and video!

Free in Idaho provides the quote of the day on 'giving up.'

Say Uncle says that gun sales are still up over last year. I predict another run on the gun shops in the late summer and Fall.

The Wandering Minstrel has, 'Is that a banana in your pocket or are you going to shoot me?'

Tam says she has a case of the blahs today. I dunno why I felt that was worthy of a mention on the Roundup other than to say I get them a great deal as well. Probably due to medications and eye problems that give me a fit. But, I carry on. I'm sure Tam will too.

It's good to see Pax Parabellum back up and running after some server problems a few days ago. Go over there and start scrolling for some great reading!

Roberta X provides a few well-chosen comments on the dangers of 'mob rule.'

Atlas Shrugs blows the whistle on Pelosi and the Democrats' frontal assault on free speech. This is serious, folks!

David Codrea posts an excellent round up of all of the Gun Rights Examiners' opinions on Sotomayor and her anti-gun views. Read it all.

Austin Gun Rights Examiner says that 'you can change the course of history' by getting involved in opposing gun control. He provides examples.

From Denver Gun Rights Examiner: 'Lessons from Bring Your Guns to Church Day.'

Atlanta Gun Rights Examiner provides an excellent read on carrying guns, entitled, 'You Bet It's Personal!'

John Pierce has a MUST-read that reinforces gun owners' conviction that 'it takes a gun to stop a gunman.'

Sipsy Street Irregulars has two excellent reads on the Christian Resistance Movement to Government Tyranny, the first being this overview from an American clergyman, and the second being this nifty item showing that the current 'emperor' has no clothes!

KC3 reports big news that truckers have gotten behind an amendment to a bill calling for national reciprocity on concealed carry. It would be great if we could get this passed.

Walls of the City presents excerpts from an interesting exchange between persons engaged in a discussion on firearms issues.

Live from the Upper Texas Gulf Coast reminds us of the mindset toward guns exhibited by people like Dianne Feinstein, no matter what they say now.

UPDATE! Healthcare Reform Will KILL Seniors!

If this monstrosity of a bill called 'healthcare reform' passes Congress, get set to protect your elderly loved ones. This thing will ration their care, hastening their death, in order to pay for illegal aliens and roughly 8 million uninsured!

Read all about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Thanks!

Obama's Strange Answer on Gov't Healthcare

Did you happen to catch Obama's answer to a question about gov't healthcare during his news conference yesterday? It seems the President has a highly odd notion about private insurers being able to compete with a tax-subsidized government healthcare corporation.

In fact, there can be no real 'competition' once government gets involved. Read my latest column at Columbia Conservative Examiner to find out why.

Time to Stop Obama From Ruining U.S. Healthcare

We still have time to put a stop to Obama's healthcare 'reform' plan, which will have the effect of ruining the most advanced healthcare system on earth and plunging the nation into deeper economic chaos due to the multi-billions of extra debt the plan will create.

This article at the Heritage Foundation, via Canada Free Press, provides all the information we need to effectively stop this monstrosity in its tracks.

LIBERTY ALERT! Pelosi Introduces Socialized Care

Word has come this afternoon that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has stated that the new bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on healthcare will include a provision mandating government control.

Thus, the dire predictions of so-called 'alarmists' who warned of sinister intentions behind the push for 'healthcare reform' are turning out to be 100% correct.

This bill is not simply about expanding 'access' to care for uninsured Americans. This is an outright attempt to insure that government runs the healthcare system, or in other words, 'socialized medicine.'

Cato Institute: Downside to 'Universal Healthcare'

On Thursday of this week Barack Obama gathered a team of various persons to delve into the subject of 'healthcare reform.' And the Cato Institute immediately published a study from Feb. 28 as a response.

An excerpt:

Universal health insurance does not necessarily mean universal access to health care. In practice, many countries promise universal coverage but ration care or have extremely long waiting lists for treatment. Those countries that have single-payer systems or systems heavily weighted toward government control are the most likely to face waiting lists, rationing, restrictions on the choice of physician, and other barriers to care.

Is this really what we want in America?

Obama's 'Health Summit'

Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that due to budget constraints and the recession, Obama has therefore put his plans to socialize healthcare on the back burner. The first sign that the plan is still very much near the top of the list is the fact that it was included in the 'stimulus bill' as a rider.

But Obama will take another step toward fulfilling his goal by holding a major White House 'Health Summit' next week.

According to a report in The Hill, Obama intends to send a clear signal that 'healthcare reform' is still a top priority.

And by the way, 'healthcare reform' is simply a code word for more spending and the intention of setting up a national health czar to oversee the spending habits of the nation's medical providers.

It would be wise to watch this development very closely.
