Second Amendment News Roundup for 7/16/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Snow Flakes in Hell continues with today's updates on the Sotomayor hearings in the Senate.

Texas Fred has urgent, late-breaking news that House Democrats have moved to put on the front-burner the murderous healthcare rationing bill that Obama wants. Time to move to get this STOPPED or else you will be burying your elderly loved ones!

Insight on Freedom reminds us that in addition to giving healthcare to illegal aliens by robbing seniors of their Medicare benefits and private insurance, Obama and the Democrats (and RINOS such as McCain) are going to shove amnesty for illegals down our throats very shortly. The assault is on, folks!

Notoriously Conservative, for some much-needed comic relief, provides some hilarious Obama jokes.

Days of our Trailers notes that the NRA has finally gotten on board with actively opposing Sotomayor. But, to be perfectly honest, from my perspective, it is way too little and much too late. This should have been done MONTHS ago!

Mike McCarville reports that U.S. Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma was totally unimpressed with Sotomayor's answers, including her views on the 2nd Amendment. Coburn has been a stellar patriot in the Senate.

Rev. Kharma has an excellent MUST-read today entitled, 'Look Away, Ignore the Man Behind the Curtain (again).' Read it all.

From John Jacob H: 'Anyone Remember Miguel Estrada, the Wise Latino Man?' Great read and video!

Free in Idaho provides the quote of the day on 'giving up.'

Say Uncle says that gun sales are still up over last year. I predict another run on the gun shops in the late summer and Fall.

The Wandering Minstrel has, 'Is that a banana in your pocket or are you going to shoot me?'

Tam says she has a case of the blahs today. I dunno why I felt that was worthy of a mention on the Roundup other than to say I get them a great deal as well. Probably due to medications and eye problems that give me a fit. But, I carry on. I'm sure Tam will too.

It's good to see Pax Parabellum back up and running after some server problems a few days ago. Go over there and start scrolling for some great reading!

Roberta X provides a few well-chosen comments on the dangers of 'mob rule.'

Atlas Shrugs blows the whistle on Pelosi and the Democrats' frontal assault on free speech. This is serious, folks!

David Codrea posts an excellent round up of all of the Gun Rights Examiners' opinions on Sotomayor and her anti-gun views. Read it all.

Austin Gun Rights Examiner says that 'you can change the course of history' by getting involved in opposing gun control. He provides examples.

From Denver Gun Rights Examiner: 'Lessons from Bring Your Guns to Church Day.'

Atlanta Gun Rights Examiner provides an excellent read on carrying guns, entitled, 'You Bet It's Personal!'

John Pierce has a MUST-read that reinforces gun owners' conviction that 'it takes a gun to stop a gunman.'

Sipsy Street Irregulars has two excellent reads on the Christian Resistance Movement to Government Tyranny, the first being this overview from an American clergyman, and the second being this nifty item showing that the current 'emperor' has no clothes!

KC3 reports big news that truckers have gotten behind an amendment to a bill calling for national reciprocity on concealed carry. It would be great if we could get this passed.

Walls of the City presents excerpts from an interesting exchange between persons engaged in a discussion on firearms issues.

Live from the Upper Texas Gulf Coast reminds us of the mindset toward guns exhibited by people like Dianne Feinstein, no matter what they say now.
