Final Scores for Clemson and South Carolina

The Clemson Tigers handily defeated the Wolfpack of North Carolina State by a score of 27-9 in Death Valley Saturday afternoon. Clemson is now 2-1 on the season.

South Carolina was defeated by the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs in Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia by a score of 14-7. The Gamecocks had several good chances score, but once again had problems with turnovers.

The Gamecocks have never won an SEC game that was televised by CBS. South Carolina now falls to 1-2 on the season.

Big Day in S.C. for Clemson and South Carolina

The South Carolina Gamecocks play host to the Georgia Bulldogs today at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia for a big SEC matchup that begins at 3:35 PM ET. The game will be nationally televised on CBS.

The Bulldogs are ranked No. 2 in the nation. The Gamecocks are not ranked, but many sports analysts report that the team is underrated with its stellar defense and reputable offense.

The problem with the offense rests solely with the quarterback position, which coach Steve Spurrier has yet to correct with a solid, reliable quarterback who can take the heat week by week.

Meanwhile, the Clemson Tigers are hosting the Wolfpack of North Carolina State in a game that began at 12:00 PM in Clemson.

In the third quarter of play, Clemson leads N.C. State by a score of 17-6 in this ACC matchup.

Jesus, Satan, and Obama

After having created and promoted the 'messiah' motif to define Barack Obama as 'the One,' the 'Light,' and the 'messenger of hope,' the candidate and his followers have moved on to the next phase of likening their blessed Obamessiah to Deity.

On cue, they are all now saying that Obama is 'like Jesus.'

And some of the ones who are saying it don't even believe in Jesus, such as Susan Sarandon, who is one of the latest of the Leftwing activists who claimed, 'Obama is a community organizer just like Jesus.'

Others who have mouthed the latest talking point include the Governor of New York and a Tennessee Congressman, both Democrats, of course.

This is from the Party that for over 30 years has castigated Republicans for the supposed mixing of politics and religion. The Democrats have made it one of their central themes that religious issues are supposed to be separate from politics.

Yet we have heard more about religion from the Obama campaign than any other election since Jimmy Carter in 1976.

And by the way, Jesus was clearly NOT a 'community organizer' as the liberals claim.

Further, the father of all modern day 'community organizers' was socialist Saul Alinsky, whom both Obama and Hillary Clinton have claimed as a 'mentor.'

Alinsky was a role model to radicals who advocated overturning American society in the 60s in favor of a socialist model based upon 'community activism.' Hillary Clinton's thesis at Wellesley College was about Saul Alinksy.

Why is all of this important? For one simple reason. While Obama and his zombie-followers are running around the country claiming their messiah is 'like Jesus,' what they fail to tell you is that Barack Obama's mentor, Saul Alinksy, wrote a book back in the day entitled, Rules for Radicals.

Alinsky dedicated the book to Lucifer (Satan), to whom he pointed as one of the original radical community organizers, due to the fact that he railed against the authority of God and organized and led a rebellion.

Thus, when these Leftwing kooks in the Democratic Party think they are so clever in their comparisons of Obama to Jesus because 'Jesus was a community organizer,' they are actually committing blasphemy.

If they believe in the concepts of community activism as taught by their mentor Alinsky, their ultimate role model is Lucifer. To put Jesus in that category is an act of blasphemy that should result in swift condemnation by Christians everywhere.

Eric McLean Found Guilty of a Lesser Charge

Facing the possibility of a life sentence on first degree murder charges, Eric McLean was found guilty of the lesser charge of reckless homicide by a jury in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The charge of reckless homicide carries a maximum sentence of 2 to 5 years in prison in Tennessee. But McLean's attorney is certain that he can arrange no jail time for his client, who has already served some time behind bars in the 2007 slaying of Sean Powell.

Powell is the 18-year-old shot by Eric McLean in a confrontation between the two over Eric's wife's inappropriate relationship with Powell, who had been a student of Erin McLean when she was a teacher intern at West High School in Knoxville in 2006.

Erin McLean, the only known eye-witness to the shooting, did not attend the trial of her ex-husband. Eric McLean's attorney states that the whereabouts of Erin is unknown.

Erin fled Nashville with the 2 children that belong to her and Eric and informed her attorney that she and the children are staying out of state with friends at an undisclosed location.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 9/12/08

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Today along with a few of our regulars, we highlight some very good bloggers who unfortunately do not get much attention. Give them all a look.

Bear on a Bicycle reports some rather interesting news concerning the supposed 'scandal' involving Governor Palin's firing of a state trooper in Alaska. This is priceless!

Cap'n Bob and the Damsel blog on the NRA's new website dedicated to the truth about Barack Obama's anti-gun views. Folks, don't let this one get by you--Obama wants to ban handguns. Never has McCain come close to such extremist views, although he has enraged some of us at times concerning the 'assault weapons' thing.

Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit has the MUST-read of the day on Sarah Palin's interview by Charles Gibson on ABC. From what we can tell, Palin passed the test, but Gibson was ill-prepared.

Traction Control has some video clips of the Palin interview.

Brigid at Home on the Range posts an interesting read on the EO Tech HWS Military Model 511.A65 scope, which is used by SWAT.

Mr. Completely provides information on sending firearms to and from the Gun Bloggers Rendezvous in Reno in October.

Xavier writes an interesting piece on the Clark Combat Commander 1911 pistol.

Monica Crowley has some good reading on the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Do yourselves a favor, and go read it.

Mark Steyn is back after a hiatus following his trial by the kangaroo court of the British Columbian 'human rights' Commission, during which he was charged with writing against Muslim extremists in Europe. As always, he has a good variety of reading to choose from.

Ohioans for Concealed Carry point to an article that shows how the courts are misusing the Heller decision.

Texas Fred comments on S.C. Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler's statement that Palin's only qualification is that she hasn't had an abortion. As a South Carolinian, all I can say is that she and her husband, Donald Fowler, are an embarrassment to this state and to the nation (at one time Mr. Fowler was the national Democratic Party Chair).

ARRA News Service suggests that Congressmen and Senators who oppose offshore oil drilling--most of them Democrats--may have a hard time getting re-elected in November.

Bloviating Zeppelin says that the Left is certifiably insane. I agree. Just wait till you see what a Canadian 'doctor' said about Palin's decision to go ahead and have a Downs baby rather than abort it!

Captain of a Crew of One reports a news story out of Arizona on two 19 year olds who were 'caught' with some 'assault weapons.'

Joe Huffman posts essential reading on guns and politics, including comments on Sarah Palin, Bill Clinton, and Barack Gun-Ban-O-Bama.

ROFL!! xrlq comments on the latest tactic of Democrats, trying to claim that to refer to 'community organizers' is a racist comment since the term refers to a 'race.' LOL!! Holy Toledo, these people have lost their freakin' minds. And then there was the Tennessee Democrat who said that Jesus was a community organizer, just like Obama! Ohhhhh Lord, call the paramedics...I can't breath for the laughter.

David Codrea reports that the JBTs are up to no good again, and, of course, the AP and the MSM are right in their hip pockets.

Armed and Safe effectively blows to bits any contention on the part of Barack Gun-Ban-O-Bama that he is all for protecting the 2nd Amendment.

JR provides an excellent rundown of the various bloggers' comments on 9/11.

Nicki has a MUST-read from John Stossel and Dr. Walter Williams on basic economics and how the government cannot create wealth.

Today We Remember: May We Never Forget

Today we remember those who lost their lives at the hands of Muslim terrorists on September 11, 2001.

May we never forget what happened and who did it.

And may we never forget the brave men and women who died or who were injured attempting to rescue those trapped in the rubble, or those who attempted to wrest control of United Flight 93 from terrorist vermin, and who lost their lives as a result.

Today we say a special prayer for the families and friends of these brave human beings.

God bless America!

Failure to Report Massive Crowds for McCain-Palin

Remember how the mainstream media went bonkers over the massive crowds that went to see rock-star wannabe Barack Obama early in the campaign? Remember their panoramic camera views of the crowds in Europe when their beloved Obamessiah spoke in Germany and Paris?

Interestingly but not surprisingly, now that John McCain and Sara Palin are attracting mega-crowds following the Republican National Convention, the mainstream media has ignored and failed to report the groundswell of grassroots attention being given to the GOP team.

When the mainstreams cover Palin and McCain, gone are the camera shots of throngs of people waiting in line and standing to see the pair.

Clearly, Couric, Gibson, Williams, Cooper, and company do not want the public to see these images. They want the images of Obama's crowds sticking in their minds.

Michelle Malkin has much more on this story. It is well worth the time to go see it, if you are interested in fairness and truth in political reporting.

Frankly, I wouldn't give these partisans the time of day if I were Sarah Palin or John McCain. Palin is doing an extensive interview with Gibson at ABC. I know politicians have to do the obligatory dog-and-pony show with these charlatans, but it is getting to the point to where enough is enough.

If Gibson and his colleagues in the mainstream media are going to openly fawn all over Obama, then if I were on the other side, I would tell him and the rest of the goons to go jump as I flipped them the bird.

Why give the enemy publicity by granting an interview? Why enable the careers of those who under the guise of being news reporters actually attempt to change public opinion and openly campaign for a political candidate?

It is really no wonder network news broadcasts are quickly going the way of the dinosaur. And the quicker they die the better the Republic will be. The public gets its news from plenty of other sources these days, and we are much better off for it.

Russia Sends 2 Bomber-Jets to Venezuela

In a move that is viewed by observers as retaliation for the U.S. sending warships to Georgia to deliver humanitarian aid, 2 Russian bombers landed in Venezuela on Wednesday, according to several news sources, including Breitbart and CNN.

The bombers, Tu-160 strategic jets, are a part of 'training flights' to be conducted over neutral waters in the Caribbean over the next 2 days, according to Russian officials.

However, the landing of the bombers for the purpose of conducting military exercises in the Caribbean must be viewed within the context of Russia's continued threats against the West, the latest of which was issued Wednesday.

Russian officials stated that U.S. missile sights in Poland and the Czech Republic, which are part of the negotiated missile defense shield for the area, would be targets for nuclear attacks by Russia.

Thus, the stated nuclear threats, the landing of the Russian bombers in Venezuela yesterday, and the planned joint military exercises in November planned by Russia and Venezuela in the Caribbean, which will involve 1000 Russian soldiers and at least 4 Russian warships, are all pieces of a puzzle that together paint a dark picture of the re-emergence of the Russian menace as in the days of old during the Cold War.

As we have stated before, this MUST be nipped in the bud and VERY soon, or else the next President is facing something similar to the Cuban Missile Crisis early in John Kennedy's administration in 1961.

We must never allow Russia to gain a foothold in this hemisphere, no matter what. And we must not allow Russia to once again dominate Eastern Europe now that those nations are enjoying beloved liberty following decades of living under the heavy-handed oppression of Russian Communists.

And perhaps it is time for Hugo Chavez to be clipped at the gonads as Ronald Reagan did to Momar Qaddafi of Libya in the early 1980s.

South Carolina Democratic Chair Smears Palin

In an obvious attempt to smear GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin, South Carolina Democratic Party chair Carol Fowler stated that Palin's only qualification for office is that 'she hasn't had an abortion.'

Where does our state get these loony 'toons Democrats from?

Donald Fowler, South Carolina native and former Democratic Party chairman both on the state level and the national level recently joked that the hurricane that hit the Gulf Coast on the opening day of the GOP convention was a 'sign from heaven that God favors Democrats.'

And then he insulted the blogger who first reported the story, referring to him as a 'right-wing kook.'

Sorry, Mr. Fowler, but the kooks seem to be occupying the offices of the Democratic Party, such as yourself and Carol Fowler.

Oh, and by the way, Ms. Fowler, if Palin's only qualification is the fact that she hasn't had an abortion, then the only qualifications for Democrat females is that they have slept with at least 100 men, had three abortions, and are currently being treated for genital herpes.

That's a joke, in case you missed it.

Actually, Ms. Fowler, you paid Sarah Palin a great compliment by saying she hasn't had an abortion. I personally wish there were a lot more women who were among that number.

Here is the original story.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 9/10/08

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

From Codrea's War on Guns:
*This is the MUST-read of the day! The MSM wants to use the force of government to weed out individual voices in the 'new media'--bloggers. Their scheme? Tax them out of existence!
*David has another MUST-read on Sarah Palin and voting one's conscience.
*This post highlights the hysterics in light of looming Congressional action to restore gun rights in the District of Columbia.
*'Breaking the Code'

Western Rifle Shooters Association posts a follow-up to yesterday's post on Sarah Palin. A personal note here: thinking people must vote their conscience. My conscience dictates a vote for Palin-McCain because I believe that Palin represents the future of conservatism and she is moving us toward more liberty. I know there are those who differ with my reasoning. But you must vote YOUR conscience, not mine.

Armed and Safe posts 'Not the Time or Place to Show Your Rights.'

JR links to an article from Xavier entitled, 'The Danger of Compliance.'

From Nicki at The Liberty Zone:
*The horrors of a government-run healthcare system are evident in this story about a woman in Great Britain who decided to take matters into her own hands to prolong her life.
*The Democrats have reached a new low in their attacks on Sarah Palin, which Nicki describes as 'beyond classless.'
*'Your Need is Not a Claim Check to My Earnings!'--priceless!

Alphecca gives us one more reason why Sarah Palin connects to the average American while the others who are running don't.

Gun Pundit comments on the absence of gay-bashing at the GOP convention. A good read!

Gun Nuts announces big changes for the radio show. Squeaks is leaving the program, and there is also a time-change beginning next Tuesday.

Squeaks posts her thoughts on leaving the Gun Nuts radio show and her pulling back on blogging. This is sad. She has always been a welcome addition to the blogosphere. I hope the hiatus won't last very long.

Sebastian has good reading entitled, 'Trickery Works.'

Uncle shows us a major slip up by Joe Biden as he was making an introduction of a man in a wheelchair. Wow, did he really say that?!

Breda has caught Barack Gun-Ban-O-Bama in a major misstep on the guns issue.

Dr. John Lott reports that Barack Obama has airdropped an army of lawyers and Democrat attack-dogs into Alaska to dig up anything that could be used to smear Sarah Palin.

Michelle Malkin reports that as Katie Couric and her ilk castigate Sarah Palin for not staying home to raise her kids, the liberal mainstream reporters flip the finger at the ignorant hayseeds of the general public who are oblivious to their own (the female reporters) neglect of their children and families. In short, it's ok for liberal Democrat women such as Couric to work and raise a family at the same time, but it's not ok for a conservative GOP woman like Palin to do so.

Walls of the City blogs today about 'Kalifornistan.' LOL! Give it a look!

The most ethical Congress ever? ROFL!!! Gateway Pundit reports that the little angel, Comisar Nancy Pelosi, refuses to remove mega-corrupt Charlie Rangle from his leadership post in the House.

Another Couric/CBS News Hit Piece on Palin

Under the guise of doing a 'fact-check,' Katie Couric and CBS News ran a piece Tuesday evening on Sarah Palin and her claim that she stopped construction on the 'bridge to nowhere' in Alaska.

The bridge had been a Congressional earmark secured for Alaska by one of its U.S. Senators, Ted Stevens. Early on, Palin had supported the project, as she had Stevens.

But as Palin began to discover the corruption within Alaska politics after she became Governor of the state, the bridge to nowhere was one project that she decided to stop.

There is no corruption in supporting something that you think is legit and then changing your mind once you discover 'it ain't legit.'

CBS News, however, spun the story on Palin to suggest that she only put a halt to the bridge when she found out how unpopular it was...right at the last minute, before being selected to run as John McCain's running mate.

Perhaps we should do a 'fact-check' on CBS News.

The CBS spin is clearly FALSE. The facts are that Palin supported Ted Stevens early on and the bridge as well. Then she ran for Governor. Once elected she began a systematic campaign to rid Alaska of corruption in politics.

When she embarked on this gargantuan crusade, some discoveries were made that were hard to swallow. First, she discovered that Ted Stevens, although a Republican, had engaged in some rather underhanded dealings with Alaskan businesses, one of which was the construction firm that began building the 'bridge to nowhere.'

The money for the pork-barrel project had already been sent to Alaska long before Palin was elected Governor.

Once she became aware of the corruption involved in the Stevens scheme concerning the bridge, Palin called a halt to the construction, but kept the money for Alaska to spend on much-needed highway and infrastructure projects.

Thus, the bridge to nowhere was nixed and legitimate projects got the money.

Couric and CBS News conveniently failed to mention the timeline involved in the Palin campaign to rid Alaskan politics of corruption, and what it cost her personally to go up against powerful people in her own Party, such as Stevens.

And they certainly never mentioned the fact that a pork barrel project that was knee-deep in corruption was stopped cold while worthwhile, legitimate projects in the state got a boost.

It would seem that CBS News is in dire need of a 'facts-check' whenever it does a 'facts-check' segment on Palin and McCain.

But then, we all know already that Katie and her cohorts are in the tank for Obama. So what else can we expect?

Eric McLean Trial Underway in Knoxville

Facing a murder charge for killing a man with whom his wife was having an affair, Eric McLean is now on trial in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The story of Eric and Erin McLean, and a former student of Erin, Sean Powell, made international news back in early 2007. Erin had been a student teacher intern at West High School in Knoxville as part of her course of study to become a teacher. It was there that she met and formed a relationship with a 17-year-old student named Sean Powell in the Fall of 2006.

Powell dropped out of school in December of 2006 and moved to Nashville to live with his mother. But Powell and Erin continued having contact through cell phone and text messages. One such message sent by Erin to Sean stated, 'Baby, come home. I love you. I miss you.'

Eric McLean stated that he had become aware of a relationship between Powell and his wife when his son informed him that he has seen the pair walking hand-in-hand in a park in Knoxville.

Early in 2007, Powell drove to the McLean home in Knoxville to see Erin. Eric McLean refused to allow Powell into the house. Powell then spend several nights sleeping in his car in front of the McLean home.

Finally, a confrontation took place when Powell sought entrance into the home once again, this time with Erin urging her husband to allow Powell to come in. It was then that a 911 call was placed to police by Eric, who informed the dispatcher that there was an intruder in his home.

The next 911 call from the McLean residence was placed by Erin who informed the dispatcher that her husband had shot Sean Powell.

Eric McLean left the residence and parked his vehicle at the school where his wife had been a student intern--the place where she met Powell. He then took a firearm and began walking along the railroad tracks outside of Knoxville. It was there he was apprehended by police.

Eric granted an interview with a national TV morning show after his arrest and apologized for killing Powell, stating that it was a big mistake, an 'accident.' He also admitted being angry about the relationship between his wife and her former student, who was significantly younger.

As for Erin McLean, in the aftermath of the shooting she moved to Nashville to stay with relatives. At one point she was hospitalized following a suicide attempt. She was also fired from a job at a school in the area once it was discovered that she had once again attempted to form an inappropriate relationship with a student. The school also claimed it was unaware that Erin was the woman who was at the forefront of a love triangle that ended in murder.

The last news we heard about Erin was that she had fled from her grandparents' home in the dead of night, taking her children with her, and traveling to an unknown destination. Through her attorney she informed reporters that she and her children were safe and that she was staying with friends at an undisclosed location out of state.

In a rather bizarre twist, reporters were informed that Erin McLean was not planning to come to Knoxville to be a part of the trial of Eric McLean, although she is the only known eye-witness.

In a late-breaking development, Eric McLean took the stand in his own defense Tuesday and stated that he had caught his wife and Sean Powell having sex in their home. He further stated that Erin knew that he had seen her and Powell in the act.

Eric also describes at least one incident where both his wife and Powell taunted him about his children, telling Eric that the children would be much better off with Erin and Powell.

For further details concerning the trial of Eric McLean, click HERE to go to WVLT-TV in Knoxville.

Congress is Back, Time for Action on Drilling

They're back. The Democrat-controlled Congress, sporting the lowest approval rating in the history of the Republic, has re-convened after it's unfortunate vacation in the midst of an energy crisis.

Supposedly there has been a gradual warming up to the idea of offshore oil drilling, particularly in light of relentless pressure from the GOP demanding that Nancy Pelosi bring the issue up for a vote.

But prudence dictates that we watch these slippery eels like a hawk. Many of the Democrats, along with a few Republicans, talk a good game about offshore oil drilling, but when you read the fine print it is clear that their plan contains so many restrictions it is not much better than the complete ban we have now.

It is time to bombard the offices of Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats with calls and emails demanding a sensible plan to drill in ALL areas offshore that are shown to contain rich oil reserves. And you can add GOP Senators Lindsey Graham, Saxby Chambliss, and others to your call list, because a small handful of Republicans are willing to compromise to the point of negating any sensible plan for drilling.

And while we're at it, we can also put in a plug for nuclear power, compressed natural gas, clean coal, in addition to wind, solar, hydrogen fuel cell, and biofuels.

An ''all of the above" approach is the most sensible approach.

But we can't let the Democrats hamstring our efforts to get our own oil. 'Drill here, drill now' MUST be part of the solution or else we are asking for deep trouble in the short-term.

We MUST not let Pelosi take off the table California, Oregon, Washington, Florida, and other states in the negotiations for offshore oil drilling. ANWR should be back on the table as well.

The time to act is NOW while public sentiment overwhelmingly supports this effort.

Biden's Hypocrisy

In a rather surprising moment of candor, Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden stated that human life begins at the moment of conception, and then added, 'That makes me a murderer.'

The attempt at humor aside, the Biden contradiction highlights the problem for those liberal politicians whose religious faith directly conflicts with public policy issues.

As for Biden, his manner of dealing with the issue is to cling to the traditional teachings of his Catholic faith while allowing others who disagree to continue practicing abortion-on-demand.

Such a manner of dealing with such an important issue concerning the nature of human life is, in a word, frightening. One could make a case, for example, in the days of slavery, that although one believes murder to be wrong, one can allow for the wholesale lynching of blacks because not everyone agrees that black people have souls.

Yes, at one time some believed that people of African descent were not fully human.

One could also make a case for the wholesale killing of nursing home patients who do nothing but lay in bed day after day, totally unaware of their surroundings. If, for example, some sociologists and liberal ethicists believe that such persons no longer meet the criteria for being 'human,' then it would be totally acceptable to kill them.

And yes, there have been numerous medical ethicists through the years who have advocated that very thing.

Yet so far, such an outlandishly ghoulish idea has never been allowed to become public policy.

The Biden philosophy seems to be that abortion is a hideous and repulsive act but if someone else does it, then it is ok for them to commit hideous and repulsive acts.

If we don't know for certain all of the ins and outs of human life, doesn't it make more sense to err on the side of life rather than to allow killing until we get more information?

It is for this reason that Biden's contention simply doesn't fly. And the fact that a man can be so flippant concerning his own personal convictions is very telling.

CHAVEZ BRINGS RUSSIAN MENACE TO CARIBBEAN

The top news story of the morning is an ominous one. Hugo Chavez, the Communist dictator of Venezuela, has invited the Russian Navy to undertake a series of military exercises in the Caribbean within the next few months.

According to a report filed by Reuters News Service, several Russian naval ships and up to 1000 Russian soldiers will participate in a joint exercise with Venezuela in the Caribbean from November 10-14.

The move is expected to greatly increase tensions between Russia and the West, particularly in light of the nation's invasion of neighboring country, Georgia.

Since the invasion, several U.S. allies in Europe have expressed grave concerns about their security and have requested the U.S. nuclear defensive missile shield, as well as American warheads.

Russia's response to the request was threatening. At least twice the nation threatened to attack Poland with nuclear warheads should it proceed with plans for the missile shield.

The world community has almost unanimously condemned Russia for its actions and statements.

And with its latest effort to team up with Chavez's communist regime in the Western Hemisphere, the Russian menace continues to thumb its nose at the rest of the world and undertake a military exercise that is clearly designed to send a message to the U.S.

The U.S. is long overdue in sending a clear message right back to Putin, Chavez, and their Commie alliance. To put off sending such a signal, the U.S. and the West is only feeding a growing monster.

BREAKING: MCCAIN OPENS 10-POINT LEAD

Late breaking news from USA Today indicates that John McCain and Sarah Palin have opened a 10-point lead over Barack Obama and Joe Biden in a poll conducted jointly by the newspaper and ABC News.

In the strongest indication yet that McCain's post-convention 'bounce' is significant, the poll which was conducted Friday through Sunday of likely voters shows McCain favored by a 54-44% margin over Obama--McCain's biggest lead yet during Campaign '08.

The poll represents the first time that support for McCain has gone over 50%.

For more information on the this late-breaking news, click HERE to go directly to USA Today.

The McCain Bounce

The Gallup organization is reporting that John McCain's post-convention bounce has matched Barack Obama's thus far, with McCain gaining an average of 5-6 points in the survey of registered voters.

It will be Tuesday or Wednesday, however, before the full results of the bounce will be reflected in the polls.

Gallup now shows McCain with a 3-point lead over Obama, 48-45%.

It should be noted, however, that just prior to the Republican National Convention, Gallup had registered an 8-point surge for Obama, 50-42%. When this factor is taken into account, it is clear that a dramatic shift in public opinion has occurred since the GOP convened in St. Paul, MN.

Not only have McCain-Palin totally obliterated the Obama 8-point lead, but they have surged ahead by 3 points, and Gallup believes that based upon past observable data collected over many years, the McCain campaign stands to gain even more when the post-convention polling cycle is completed Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

Most political observers credit Sarah Palin for the dramatic turn-around in McCain support, but they also note that McCain's speech on Thursday evening, while characteristically low-keyed, reminded voters of the maturity and steady hand of the veteran Arizona Senator.

'New Media' Pictorial from Republican Convention

Let's face it, the blogosphere is the 'new media' when it comes to news and commentary. Newspapers are facing dire circumstances as circulation drops precipitously. Network TV news is a dying phenomenon.

More and more Americans are getting their news from the Internet, and that includes those of us who blog.

Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs is a member of the new media that was given almost unprecedented access to the movers and shakers in politics at the Republican National Convention.

As an official blogger for the RNC, Pamela gave us a daily rundown of the latest activities, including behind-the-scenes factors that never get reported in mainstream outlets.

In this pictorial display, Geller presents a panoramic view of the Convention and its personalities, including Jon Voight, one of the few Hollywood stars that has taken a front-lines activist role in the GOP, as well as Peggy Noonan, Reagan speech writer, and the Republican Jewish Coalition, among others.

My friends, this kind of access given to bloggers is a very positive sign of the shift taking place in the nature of news coverage. This is good news for America and good news for bloggers.

Whining Baby-O-Bami Says He 'Won't Be Bullied'

Like a whining little baby-o-Bami, Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama is now complaining that he is 'being bullied.'

By whom, exactly?

One can only assume he means Sarah Palin, the popular new GOP dynamo. Palin is the only one who has shown she has the spunk to go right after Obama's glaring failures and weaknesses, whereas McCain characteristically keeps things low-keyed.

So, here we have a man who would be President, who is a few years older than Palin, but who nonetheless whines that he is being 'bullied' by a woman.

Wonder how he would feel sitting across a table face to face with Commie-bully Vladimir Putin?

Or how about Hugo Chavez? Oooops, my mistake. I forgot that Chavez would be a natural ally for Obama since their political philosophy is so similar. After all, Obama's people all over the country have pictures of Cuban Commie-mass murderer Che Guevara hanging all over Obama campaign offices.

Chavez, I'm sure, is proud.

But you get the point. Obama is not man enough to take the heat from the number 2 person on the GOP ticket, a female, yet he would want the country to believe he is man enough to sit down with ominous and dangerous world leaders to represent our nation's interests.

One needs a set of brass ones for that job--something Obama doesn't have.
