"I Am A Shooter"

I am a shooter. Like those that have gone before me, I am strong and driven, conservative, yet free. I am fiercely individualist, yet connected with my brothers and sisters in arms, family people at home and in the field. I compete with good spirit, yet bond with courage. I celebrate our successes and mourn our fallen. I am your friend or your neighbor. I am your mother, your sister. I am charged with a reverent responsibility and I never forget it, nor should you.

The above excerpt is from Brigid at Home on the Range in her superb piece entitled, "I Am A Shooter."

Do yourself a favor and go over there to read the entire thing. You'll be glad you did.

Wait Till You See What Illinois Police Told Women About Self-Defense!

David Codrea has the story.

Unbelievable! Just as you don't bring a knife to a gun-fight, you don't tell women or anyone else to face intruders and thugs with a barf-bag.

You have to read the story to get it.

The best thing any of us can do to be prepared in these dangerous times is to buy a gun, learn how to use it, and practice, practice, practice at the shooting range!

Second Amendment News Roundup for 9/7/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Meeting on the Green posts the full text of the Obama speech to schools tomorrow. I agree that he tweaked it so that it's not the extremist dogma we had anticipated. But the lesson plans teachers are to use to present this, student discussions, assignments, etc. ARE indoctrination. I still urge parents to keep their children home from school tomorrow. It's an excellent way to send a signal to the government-run schools, the Department of Education, and Barack Obama.

The Newbius Papers has an excellent piece on the 'progressive movement' and their hidden agenda, along with their not-so-hidden agenda.

Breda presents a gun video she entitles, 'When Thousandths of a Second Counts.'

Conservative Libertarian Outpost reports that the next government bailout will be of the FDIC, which is burning through its reserves faster than a California wildfire in the middle of a drought.

Texas Fred informs us that he has been the recipient of threats from the Obamanoids who are angry over what he writes concerning the assault on our liberties from Obama and company. Get set, my friends. These people don't believe in free speech. They will come after ALL of us before this is over.

Armed Citizen has essential reading entitled 'Obama's 10 Commandments' with sources provided for each one.

Roberta X provides good reading today on several items of interest in the news. Perhaps we really ARE living under the Chinese curse--'may you live in interesting times.'

Free in Idaho notes that the White House is simply not listening to the outrage of the people over the healthcare proposal Obama and the Democrats have introduced in Congress.

GunRights4US posts a highly important message concerning the upcoming U.S. Census.

Brigid informs us of the characteristics of a 'home on the range' man. Good reading!

David Codrea asks the question, 'Can the ATF be Reformed?' My opinion is no. It cannot. The only remedy is to abolish that bastion of hooded, jack booted government thugs.

Vanderboegh has something that just about takes the cake--absolutely the most ironic thing I've ever heard. One of the ChiComs quoted Benjamin Franklin back to the U.S., and the thing is, the ChiCom is right! This only shows the depth to which we have sunk as a nation.

Western Rifle Shooters Association posts vital information concerning the gathering on 9/12 in D.C.

Conservative Libertarian Outpost has a 'profiles in valor' MUST-read on a man whose death received very little attention, I am sad to say.

David Codrea presents highly important reading on a police group that supports citizen militias and the unrestricted right of citizens to buy firearms.

Days of our Trailers points to some bs from the anti-gunners who claim they are 'not after our guns.'

Live from the Upper Texas Gulf Coast says THIS is what happens when we grant easy access to computers.

Traction Control posts a copy of a letter sent from the Department of Education to a local school superintendent on the upcoming Obama address to school children. By the way, late last night the U.S. Dept. of Ed had up on its website a notice concerning 'schoochildren.' I kid you not. Let's be sho we give them thar skoo chilrens a real good edukashun.

Brigid provides some good reading 'from the road.'

Sebastian has some new info on 'the Bastard' and his latest antics in NYC, this time a crackdown on drinking while carrying a firearm. Didn't know this was a big problem in NYC, and I still don't believe it is, no matter what the Bastard says.

Armed and United presents a doozie--liberal payback to gun owners. Read the letter.

Roberta X thinks that the attempted boycott against World Net Daily is misguided. I do too. Yes, they put some crazy stuff up there. But they publish good stuff too. It's called 'free speech.'

Robb Allen informs us of a new training-focused gun blog. Take a look.

Breda says that tonight's edition of Gun Nuts Radio will feature some names with which you are all familiar in a round-table discussion. Sounds interesting. Click for details.

Western Rifle Shooters Association alerts us to what failing governments often do to stay in power over the citizens. Read it all, including the links. And with these czars that O has put in place, this is not just fear-mongering, folks!

Sebastian notes that Harry Reid's opponent in Nevada is no gun rights supporter. In my opinion, this is the problem with 'single-issue' voters and organizations. Harry Reid is a stain on this Republic and needs to go, period. His replacement may not be better on gun rights, but he would have to be the devil himself to be any worse than Reid on other issues.

David Codrea has a highly intriguing read today on the role government plays in arming the Taliban.

Having Fun While You Shoot

Gun owners know the importance of keeping their skills up to snuff. This is done with practice at the shooting range.

But practice shooting can be great fun with activities such as outdoor pin or steel plate matches.

Brigid provides an excellent read on this subject today.

It is important that we remind non-shooters that the shooting sports provide great fun and recreation, in addition to sharpening the skills needed in an emergency.

Liberals 'Buying Up Guns'?

A reader reported last week that one liberal told him that people on the Left are beginning to 'buy up guns.' The reason? They are afraid of the millions of gun owners who are arming to the hilt in response to Obama.

ROFL!

For one thing, I don't believe it.

And even if it were true, it is amazing how quickly liberals give up on their core principles when they face a perceived 'threat.'

Of course, we have known about the liberal hypocrisy on guns for years. Even Senator Dianne Feinstein armed herself when she and her family were the recipients of threats from a Leftwing subversive group years ago. Yet Feinstein would deny that right to most Americans with her decidedly anti-gun, anti-self-defense votes.

But even so, if the liberals begin to 'buy up guns' and thus exercise their Constitutional right to own firearms, I will be among the first to congratulate them for coming around to our point of view.

"The Days of Wine and Rugers"

I have never made any bones about the fact that I admire the writing of Brigid at Home on the Range. She deftly weaves together intriguing descriptions of 2 of her favorite pastimes--guns and cooking.

Such is the case with "The Days of Wine and Rugers," with the exception that this article focuses on wine and guns rather than cooking and guns.

Here is an excerpt to whet your appetite:

No, don't drink and shoot, just something that came to mind as I finished a little painting.

It got me thinking. People spend large amounts of money on good wine. I have too, yet sometimes with a hearty meal, a simple glass of inexpensive red wine will do. Such it can be with a gun budget. I keep a watch on my spending (hey I'm mostly Scot) and I found I was spending a LOT on 45 ammo. Sure I love my 45's. There's absolutely nothing like it and the .45 is ALL I will have close to my side for home defense and my concealed is larger caliber as well. But the thought of having a little .22 to plink with, so I could shoot more, was intriguing. An inexpensive but well-built little .22 would be even better. So after trying out someone's Ruger Mark II, I bought a Ruger Mark III in a nice blued finish at the local non big chain gun store when it was there for a VERY good price.

Be sure to read the whole thing at the link provided at the top of this post.

"Why Big Cities Want Gun Control"

In short, it's all about control and dependence. For politicians, it means more control and power over the lives of citizens. For the citizens, it is the perfect example of the mindset of dependence--letting others care for me is better than me caring for myself.

Read this entire thought-provoking report here.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 2/23/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

David Codrea muses on the coming civil war in America and points out that the statists fear another rise of 'angry white men' such as we had in the 90s.

From Codrea's Gun Rights Examiner: 'Queens Councilman Brandishes Gun in Church!'

Kurt Hofmann provides an interesting read at St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner, entitled, 'Protecting Children...From the Ability to Defend Themselves.'

John Jacob H has a timely update on the law enforcement raid of the food ministry for needy families in Ohio.

Mindful Musings posts the spot-on quote of the day on the hijacking of America.

And if that was sufficient to whet your appetite, take a look at this one from Western Rifle Shooters Association on the theory that Obama wants to push the nation to civil war so he can then 'unite' it under more federal control known as socialism.

Nicki has a riveting read on the execution of a perpetrator and the evidence against him. Take a look!

Breda says that Dollhouse is her kind of story (it's on DVD). Look to see why.

Mike McCarville points to an interesting Gallup report on religion in the South.

Bitter guest-blogs at Sebastian's place on the voting patterns of NRA members.

Walls of the City admirably complained to some advertisers on the Commercial Appeal concerning their publishing the names of concealed carry licensees, and here he writes about a response of sorts.

Say Uncle reports that yet another newspaper has published the names of concealed carry licensees, this time in Arkansas.

Tam offers appropriate snark to that numbskull, Britain Prime Minister Gordon Brown, on his call for a 'global New Deal.'

Days of our Trailers reports that Hamas has solicited the services of Sen. John Kerry to mediate between a group of Palestinian terrorists and Obama. Not surprising. Kerry has a penchant for helping America's enemies.

Insight on Freedom has the MUST-read of the day, the title of which says it all--'The States are not Branches of the Federal Government!' Amen!

Roberta X has had another health episode, and here she gives us an update.

2A Musing posts an excellent read on range lessons--some good pointers about shooting at the firing range.

Alphecca reports that the folk in Montana have flipped another bird at the Feds...they want to exempt guns made and sold in the state from all federal licensing and background check requirements.

Texas Fred comments on the NAACP's action against the New York Post concerning the monkey cartoon.

The Wandering Minstrel issues a call to arms in light of the looming threats of the Obamanation.

Get set. Here comes another one. Gateway Pundit reports that House Democrats are ready to roll out yet ANOTHER half-trillion-dollar spending bill in the name of 'stimulus.' Sheesh.

Atlas has the jaw-dropping news on how the Feds are engaging in book burning by deeming all books published before 1958 as 'unsafe for children.' I kid you not. The Nazis are in control, my friends!

'True Grit'

For those like me who adhere to the values and principles embodied by the great John Wayne and the characters he portrayed, here is a masterpiece of exceptional writing that will take you back to an era in America when we were proud to be Americans--strong, self-sufficient, no-nonsense and outspoken advocates for individual liberty.

Brigid, the author of the piece who describes herself as a 'Celtic lass on a small homestead on the Plains, is an extraordinary writer who creates vivid scenes in our minds with the power of words.

In the post linked above, she took me back to a by-gone era of my boyhood and youth, as I idolized John Wayne and aspired to be like him.

I never quite reached my goal, but I still adhere to the values of those movies that depicted a time in America when men were real men, where guns were not evil but positive tools, where it was admirable to stand for something against all odds, and where fighting for the right, for truth, justice, and freedom was not an option but an unquestioned responsibility.

Be sure to read Brigid's post in its entirety, and then tell her how much you appreciate not only her gift as a wordsmith but her stand for liberty.

A Gun In My Hand

My last article on guns focused on concealed carry entitled 'A Gun in My Pocket.' Now I wish to discuss the general subject of having a gun in my hand, that is, developing the ability to feel comfortable handling a firearm while at the same time having a healthy respect for your weapon.

In many ways I was very fortunate to be raised in a family of gun owners. I first learned about guns from my grandfather, who never reached a stage in life where he felt practice shooting was unnecessary.

My family was originally from Wales in the U.K. The Welsh people historically are known for being good, decent, unassuming, and hard-working people. The mines in Wales eventually gave way to the cotton mills in the Southern part of the United States.

Hard work was never a problem for my grandfather, and thus, the life of a mill-worker was never considered beneath his dignity or too difficult for him to manage. Being a Welshman, his serious and even grim demeanor meant that he was determined to accomplish any task set before him. And that he did, including teaching a young boy about firearms.

The rural areas of the Carolinas were perfect for target practice. One could practically set up a makeshift shooting range anywhere once they traveled about 10-15 minutes out of town.

I watched my grandfather shoot his pistol in a variety of settings. He believed the variation was essential to becoming adept at shooting in a myriad of situations.

And then it was my turn to hold the pistol, to feel it in my hand, to become comfortable with it while at the same time showing the firearm the ultimate respect. Then it was time to begin pulling the trigger with an unloaded gun in order to get the feel of the trigger mechanism and learn how to pull the trigger with the proper positioning of the finger.

From there it was on to shooting the loaded gun.

Needless to say, from that time forward I was hooked.

Long after my grandfather had passed on, I continued to practice shoot with one of my best buds who was also into guns. As my grandfather had taught me, we went shooting in a variety of settings--at farms, open fields, wooded areas, and the local police club. We practiced with shotguns, rifles, semi-automatic pistols, and of course, revolvers (my favorite).

Some people through the years have stated that the reason my grandfather continued going to target practice even as a man in his late 70s was because he simply enjoyed it. There is an element of truth to that. He was a sportsman, and I have no doubt that he derived a great deal of pleasure from firing his pistol.

But there is also no doubt that a greater reason was lodged in his mind for going practice shooting. He felt it was necessary to stay on top of his game. He never wanted to get rusty, not even as a 78 year old man.

To this day I like the feel of a gun in my hand. I enjoy shooting it in protected areas where I know there is almost no chance of a stray bullet hurting someone. But I also want to keep my shooting skills sharp.

'Use it or lose it' is a good mantra to bear in mind for a skill or talent.

And these are the invaluable lessons I learned from my grandfather.

Target Practice--The Bernie Madoff Silhouette

Were you one of the unsuspecting victims of Bernie Madoff's illegal scheme that resulted in the loss of the life savings of many of his investors?

Well, New York City's Cityfile.com has developed the perfect vehicle for anger management. They are calling it, 'Our Gift to Bernie's Victims'--a silhouette of the disgraced financial mogul that is perfect for a game of darts at the bar or for target practice at the shooting range.

Both versions are downloadable.

Cityfile claims that the target meets the NRA's standards for indoor/outdoor target practice. There is even a little scorecard in the top corner to help gauge your performance.

And, for those who may not possess a gun registration or firearms license, Cityfile points to a westside Manhattan rifle and pistol firing range that for $65 bucks will allow you to fire off 50 rounds at the Madoff silhouette.

Yes, they allow you to bring your own target.

Perhaps the target practice silhouette will be a life-saver for Madoff. We hear that he is wearing a bullet-proof vest these days on those rare occasions when he is allowed to venture outside his home.

Better to shoot at the Madoff silhouette than at the man himself. He needs to stand trial for his misdeeds. And no one should deprive him of facing a jury of his peers.

Garbage

I admit I like a good kick-ass Clint Eastwood or Tommy Lee Jones movie--films that routinely portray the use of firearms either in a positive light or as a matter of necessity.

These films are a welcome respite from the normal assembly-line of Hollywood garbage that politicizes the subject of firearms to the point of nausea.

You know the ones to which I refer. The plot template usually involves politicians who during the course of the movie will make a derogatory statement about firearms and the citizens who use them.

The Michael Douglas film The American President is a perfect case in point.

At the end of the film Douglas, who plays the role of a U.S. President under fire during a re-election bid, receives cheers and praise as he tells the American people and his opponent that 'if I have to go door to door myself, I'm gonna get the guns.'

The message of course is that door-to-door confiscation of all of the citizens' guns is actually a good thing. Nausea pangs begin to bubble deep in the pit of my stomach.

And then, last night I happened to watch a movie from the year 2000 entitled The Contender. The movie focuses on the problems of a Leftwing extremist female Senator who is nominated for Vice-President.

Naturally, this is the perfect template from which to unleash another stream of anti-gun propaganda. Near the end of the movie the candidate states that she believes that 'guns should be removed from every single household in America.'

And naturally she is the heroine of the film.

My nausea kicked into high gear and nearly culminated in uncontrolled projectile vomiting...were it not for the remote button that my finger mysteriously and spontaneously settled upon to switch to something more soothing to my digestive system.

In all likelihood my reaction to the piece of Hollywood garbage would not have been so severe had it not been that I had just watched a hopelessly clueless actress on the Golden Globes spout some mindless drivel on how the American people 'turned out in droves to take back this country and bring hope to the future' on election day.

The 2 together in one night was almost too much to expect a man to withstand.

This is precisely why I detest Hollywood, actors in general, and producers and screen writers. In this day and age, we can expect the entire lot to march in lockstep with Socialist dogma, denigrate everything that made America great, and generally be the worthless little puppet kings and prima donnas of the nation.

And my due apologies go to the honorable and courageous conservative minority that dwells in that cesspool.

I can't even stand to look at Tom Hanks anymore after his endorsement of Barack Obama.

And as for guns in the movies? As long as Eastwood and Jones are around we will get a fair shake. But these guys aren't spring chickens anymore. What about after they're gone?

Of Guns, Citizens, and Soldiers

Washington, DC (TLS). A small but vocal minority in America has made its presence known by protesting various and sundry actions of citizens, such as, for example, the erecting of a statue in honor of a fallen Iraq War hero who was from Littleton, Colorado.

Their problem? The statue of the hero depicts him in army fatigues and carrying a gun. A few parents complained that, since the statue is near a school, their children may be put under a 'bad' influence, since the statue 'glorifies war.'

People of this ilk who live by the millions in the San Francisco area were the very ones that prevented a retired navy vessel from being placed in permanent port there, not to mention that they also have banned ROTC programs from city high schools.

Once again, their complaint is that such things 'glorify war.'

Pray tell, what DO they wish to glorify? Cowtowing to terrorists?

War is never a first-choice option. It is not even necessarily a second-choice option. But sometimes it is the ONLY option when the nation is fighting for its very existence against enemies who wish us dead.

As for guns, this nation would be much better off with regard to crime if we taught our youngsters how to be well-trained, proficient, and effective firearms enthusiasts. And as a sport, firearms training is much safer than football, cheerleading, wrestling, or a host of other popular sports among the nation's youth.

Thus, our praise of heroes on the battlefield and of individual citizens who defend themselves with guns against rapists, murderers, and thieves has nothing to do with 'glorifying' war or violence. It's just that most of us appreciate those who fight for their country, and those who have the gumption to prevent thugs from gaining the upper hand.

COURT SCORES MAJOR VICTORY FOR GUN RIGHTS

Washington, DC (TLS). The Second Amendment was clarified and upheld when a D.C. Circuit Court panel ruled that the District of Columbia's gun control laws violate the U.S. Constitution.

The panel held that the Second Amendment protects the INDIVIDUAL'S right to keep and bear arms and that this right is not excluded to service in the militia. The Judges cited historic legal precedent in stating that gun rights were viewed by the Founders as serving a multi-purpose function, only one of which is being ready to serve in a militia when called. The right to keep and bear arms, according to the Founders, served as a mechanism for self-defense and as a means to fight the rule of a tyrannical government, should that need arise.

Here is an excerpt from the 75-page ruling:

'To summarize, we conclude that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms. That right existed prior to the formation of the new government under the Constitution and was premised on the private use of arms for activities such as hunting and self-defense, the latter being understood as resistance to either private lawlessness or the depredations of a tyrannical government (or a threat from abroad). In addition, the right to keep and bear arms had the important and salutary civic purpose of helping to preserve the citizen militia. The civic purpose was also a political expedient for the Federalists in the First Congress as it served, in part, to placate their Antifederalist opponents. The individual right facilitated militia service by ensuring that citizens would not be barred from keeping the arms they would need when called forth for militia duty. Despite the importance of the Second Amendment's civic purpose, however, the activities it protects are not limited to militia service, nor is an individual's enjoyment of the right contingent upon his or her continued or intermittent enrollment in the militia. As we have seen in many other constitutional cases, including decisions by the Ohio Supreme Court, the judges found that DC's gun laws amount to a complete prohibition on the lawful use of handguns for self-defense: The majority opinion also rejects the argument that the Second Amendment does not apply to the District of Columbia because it is not a State. And the majority opinion concludes, "Section 7-2507.02, like the bar on carrying a pistol within the home, amounts to a complete prohibition on the lawful use of handguns for self-defense. As such, we hold it unconstitutional."'

My friends, this is a monumental victory for the rights of individual citizens.

Democrats Set to Expand 'Hate-Crimes' Legislation

Washington, DC (TLS). Democrats in Congress are set to expand the so-called 'hate crimes' legislation by broadening the definition of what constitutes a hate crime to include unlawful acts against gays. The proposed legislation will more than likely be tied to a bill that would target bias against gays in the workplace.

Certainly any decent American citizen wishes no harm to befall anyone of any stripe in this country. No decent, law-abiding citizen would want to see anyone become the victim of crime or discrimination on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, or religion. But the question is, do we need yet another federal law that aims to categorize crime as if a so-called 'hate crime' is worse than any other crime? In addition, the legislation that is being proposed does not use the term 'discrimination,' which is against the law anyway. The term is 'bias.' And that, as they say, is a 'whole different ballgame.'

Bias is a subjective term with as many varied definitions as there are people. If, for example, the mainstream news media doesn't even recognize their abject bias in everyday news reporting, then obviously we are not all using the same definition. How do we know, for example, that an employee was passed over for a promotion because he/she was gay? Gay persons may well believe that this is the reason due to something as innocuous as overhearing an employer state his or her opinion on the subject of homosexuality. It never occurs to extremist activists that one can have personal opinions about the behavior of others without that opinion necessarily adversely impacting relationships in the workplace.

It is extremely difficult to prove 'bias.' Thus, the question arises as to why such legislation should even be considered in the first place.

But remember who presently controls Congress. There is the answer.

In addition, it has been nearly a decade since Congress first proposed so-called 'hate crimes legislation,' the result of proposals by the Clinton Administration and its apologists in Congress. When the term was first used to refer only to specific crimes against persons of color, many of us at the time cried foul. What, exactly, makes a hate crime any worse than any other crime?

A case can be made that a significant portion of most crimes committed in this country are the result of some form of hate. The Left exhibits a shockingly noticeable blind spot in this regard with all of today's emphasis on 'understanding the psychological motivation' of those who commit crime. One would think that the psycho-social profiling of criminals that is routinely conducted today would lead advocates of social policy to conclude that not only are violent criminals driven by a highly troubled and traumatic childhood, but that this troubled background also leads to a deep-seated hatred for society in general and individuals in particular who represent for the criminal the source of all that's wrong with the world.

Yet, one never hears the crimes of, say, Ted Bundy, or Jeffrey Dahmer, referred to as 'hate crimes.'

The fact of the matter is that the Left in this country is very selective in what behaviors it considers to be 'hate driven.' Usually the one criterion that is used is the group to which the victim belongs, as in the victim's racial group, or religious group, or, in this case, the homosexual community. Thus, the focus of those who push for the 'hate crime' designation is not at all upon the nature of the crime but the group to which the victim belongs.

This is tantamount to the government compiling a list of 'protected groups,' much as environmentalists within government designate certain animals as part of a 'protected species.' The entire notion would be laughable if it were not so true.

Government has no business deciding that certain groups are so sacred that anytime an individual within that group is the victim of a serious crime it is thus to be viewed as a 'hate crime.' When government engages in this practice it is doing the very thing that supposedly these discrimination and 'anti-bias' laws are supposedly designed to prevent. One group is singled out over another and given extra protection. This means that, at the end of the day, when a Black man or a Muslim male of Middle Eastern descent chases down and runs over white students with a vehicle, such an act is not considered a 'hate crime.'

Yet this act is every bit as driven by hatred as tying a gay man to the back of a pickup truck and dragging him through the rough.

The overall, arching question that occurs to me is, when will all of this end? How many more expanded definitions must Americans endure? What other behaviors will the Left decide to include in the definition of 'hate crime'?

Remember, the very same people who push the concept of 'hate crimes' also gave us the term 'hate speech.' The speech police thus scan the communication habits of Americans to make sure that no one utters one of the dreaded 'hate words' that have come to be demonized in our society, as if real hatred is a matter of speech to begin with.

In fact, a case can be made that individuals and societies who are prevented from venting their deepest truest feelings eventually burst forth in a fury that causes the speech they use to pale in comparison.

With Democrats in control of Congress, it is entirely plausible that someone will think of adding crimes committed with a gun to the definition of 'hate crime.' Thus, using Barack Hussein Obama's logic when he was in the state legislature, if you use a 'banned handgun' to prevent an intruder into your home from murdering you and your family, not only would you be charged with having an illegal weapon but you would be charged with committing a 'hate crime' against a criminal with your weapon.

None of this is logical, my friends, I realize. But, when have these people EVER been logical?

Americans need to simply drop the term 'hate crime' from our vocabulary entirely, and politicians who promote such balderdash should be ashamed of themselves. No violent crime is worse than any other. In fact, in the final analysis, it doesn't even matter as to the 'motivation.' When bodily harm comes to innocent citizens, the motivation is not an issue at all. The issue is catching the perpetrator and making sure he/she pays to the fullest extent of the law.

LIBERTY ALERT! KEEP YOUR GUNS HANDY!

Washington, DC (TLS). Pamela Geller, founder of Atlas Shrugs, has reported that the federal government possesses information indicating that hand-to-hand, urban warfare, perpetrated by Muslim extremists, may be imminent IN THE UNITED STATES. Geller insists that the information is accurate and that her sources disclosed the information on condition of anonymity.

The information reported by Geller seems to be consistent with what The Liberty Sphere has uncovered in our exclusive investigative report into extremist Muslim activity in North Carolina. Our research led us to North Carolina due to the fact that several incidents over the past few years indicate that the state is a fueling center for Jihadists around the world. The Muslim extremists first came to North Carolina in the 1980s and set up shop at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. Several of the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks received their training there.

In addition, several Muslim terrorists were convicted in courts of law due to a money and tobacco laundering scheme that operated out of Charlotte, North Carolina, with ties to Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations around the world. This terror cell in Charlotte raised thousands of dollars which were fed into terrorist operations overseas.

Because these Muslim extremists have been flying under the radar screen for so long in North Carolina, they have had ample time to get a feel for the area, the habits of citizens, the gaps in security, as well as develop a strategy for launching a massive coordinated attack on American citizens right within our own cities.

The young Muslim male of Middle Eastern descent who was caught taking photos and videos of tall buildings in downtown Charlotte is a stark wake-up call to American citizens. As we have seen in Iraq, terrorist operatives from Iran have launched a different tactic besides merely the use of suicide bombers and the like. They are engaging Iraqi citizens in hand-to-hand urban warfare in Baghdad and other towns.

It could very well be that the terrorists have recognized a weakness in their strategy to bring down large structures within the U.S. Perhaps they plan to implement a follow-up to the shocking attacks on our symbols of finance and power. That follow-up plan may well be the launching of urban warfare on our streets. As we have seen in North Carolina, the extremists have made 20-year inroads into the society. And, with the information Geller has received, this could amount to an ominous dark scenario that is beginning to unfold.

This is why American citizens need to keep our guns handy. We must not listen to the stupidity of the Left who tell us that our handguns, shotguns, and rifles are no match for modern weaponry, such as missiles and bombs. We must remember that terrorist strikes utilize a variety of means. While our focus has been on the fear of dirty bombs, nuclear and biological weapons, and missiles, we are in danger of overlooking the threat of urban warfare, which will require personal firepower.

In short, our guns will come in handy. They may well be the only means we can survive an outbreak of urban terrorism in our cities.
