Remember when Joe Wilson shouted, 'YOU LIE' to Obama during the healthcare speech before Congress? Wilson was clearly upset about Obama's claim that the healthcare package 'will not cover illegal aliens.'
Since that time the President has been on the defensive, claiming he has no intention of signing a bill that includes healthcare coverage for illegals.
But you knew there had to be a catch, didn't you? Read all about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.
It seems Obama has a scheme up his sleeve to get all those illegals covered through the 'back door.'

Opening the Flood-Gates for the Next Election
From CNS NEWS:
This is a clear signal that Barack Obama intends to pack the U.S. with immigrants from the south before the next election so that Democrats can keep their seats in Congress and so that he can win again in 2012.
I have never attempted to hide my opinion that U.S. immigration policy is chaotic, irrational, and raging out of control. And that is not to mention the obvious political motivation for having it this way.
We need to close our borders for a couple of years until we can clean up the mess and implement a sensible policy for immigration.
At a joint press conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon and the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Guadalajara, Mexico on Monday, President Barack Obama referred to American opponents of amnesty for illegal aliens as “demagogues.”

Obama: No More Funds for Jailing Illegal Aliens
Obama's new budget for 2010 includes no funds for states that jail illegal aliens. This is according to a report filed by The Hill.
Given the blatant disregard for the law exhibited by the federal government on the issue, states have often taken it upon themselves to enforce immigration laws within their own jurisdictions.
From the report:
The discontinuation of funding for the program is going to be a hard-sell in Congress due to the fact that Congressional liberals want to add provisions within the funding that provide for healthcare and education to illegals.
Given the blatant disregard for the law exhibited by the federal government on the issue, states have often taken it upon themselves to enforce immigration laws within their own jurisdictions.
From the report:
Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that has called for tougher border security, predicted it is "very unlikely" that Obama's proposal to cut the program will be accepted by Congress. He noted that the Bush administration repeatedly tried to zero out the program, but always ran into opposition in Congress.
"It's hard to justify getting rid of it honestly," Krikorian said. "It's a necessary program because the federal government is reimbursing states and localities for the federal government's own mistakes."

Second Amendment News Roundup for 2/9/09
Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:
David Codrea gets us started off this Monday with more problems brewing at the southern border. I have never attempted to hide my point of view about this. Suspend all immigration until we can get our house in order with immigration and naturalization, which is corrupt and raging out of control. We will lose the country if we don't stop it. A two-year moratorium would help tremendously.
Codrea's Gun Rights Examiner column is entitled, 'Reasonable Limits.' Take a look!
Armed and Safe has some news from the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. They want disarmament.
Kurt Hofmann's St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner column is 'Denying Rights Without Due Process.' Vital reading!
Mike McCarville reports that conservative GOP congresswoman Mary Falin has confirmed her interest in the Oklahoma Governor's race.
Western Rifle Shooters Association updates us on the shenanigans of the JBTs to demonize rifles.
Sispy Street Irregulars has more today on a story we reported last week, that Obama has seized control of the U.S. Census, meaning, of course, that he now has the power to skew the numbers to favor Democrats.
Gateway Pundit shows us that the Constitution plainly states the Census shall be under the Secretary of Commerce. Thus, in violating the Constitution of the United States, Barack Obama has committed an impeachable offense.
Kharma Futures issues an important legislative alert on House bill H.R. 45--the bill that would mandate federal licensing and registration of all firearms.
John Jacob H provides a list of helpful links to websites that blow the whistle on bad cops.
21 Guns, Salute posts 'Contentment vs. Complacency' on the very simple desire to be left alone from gub'ment interference.
JR points to some very appropriate words for those statists who wish to tell us citizens how to spend our money.
Pax Parabellum has the MUST-read of the day entitled, 'We Are So Screwed.'
Nicki hits the nail on the head in 'For Those of You who Still have Doubts that Democrats are a bunch of Marxist F*ckbags.'
Michelle Malkin reports breaking news that Oil Can Harry Reid, Democrat Senate Majority Leader, has blocked an amendment to the stimulus bill that would require citizenship verification for recipients of the economic package. Is there any doubt in your mind now that billions of our tax dollars are going to be given to illegal aliens??!!! WE MUST STOP THIS BILL!!! CALL YOUR SENATORS AGAIN!!!
Dr. John Lott has the quote of the day by Andrew Breitbart on holding Obama accountable.
Days of our Trailers points to some PSH concerning guns in restaurants.
The Rustmeister has some NRA news for the state of Tennessee.
Walls of the City aptly shows the ignorant that the Founding Fathers surely DID intend for individual citizens to be armed.
Insight on Freedom writes something today with which I 100% agree--'No State for Palestine, EVER!'
Conservative Libertarian Outpost has some good news out of Wyoming concerning gun rights.
Sebastian says that the time is NOW to begin backing challengers to incumbents for the 2010 elections.
Robb Allen posts something that you absolutely MUST see, in case you missed it on Friday. It's called 'President Dumbo.' And I agree. This guy is set to explode eventually and blow his stack on national TV, showing citizens a side they never saw of the 'messiah.'
Now I am convinced beyond all doubt that there are icicles forming in Hell. Say Uncle reports that the ACLU is going to defend the school teacher who was suspended because of a picture of her holding a gun.
Breda got insulted on her own blog. But no worries. She took care of him. She also tells us why she won't take liberals to the firing range. Good thinking!
Roberta X points to some 'intelligent thought' among the esteemed geniuses of the Left.
Alphecca says there is perfect way to foil the plans of the Obamanation--make your own guns.
Armed Citizen has a good post on the welfare mentality. Take a look!
Blogonomicon provides good reading on 'guilty until proven innocent.'
Dustin's Gun Blog has a great video from Glenn Beck on change and socialism.
Murdoc comments on Obama's broken promises. Perhaps we should be grateful. But his supporters sure have been duped.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 7/24/08
Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:
The Obamessiah has arrived in his Mecca (the European Union) to throngs of worshippers who wonder if his speech in Germany will be his 'JFK moment.'
Messiahs don't lie, but Barack Obama does! Gateway Pundit caught him in at least 3 whoppers just prior to his departure from Israel to go to Europe.
Via Rezkorama, The Astute Bloggers show us the difference between lying and misspeaking (the Obamessiah's excuse for every lie he tells).
Born Again Redneck has essential reading on the 'Big O's' visit to Germany, entitled, 'Ich bin ein doughnut.' ROFL!!
David Codrea at War on Guns posts a follow-up to the story reported yesterday that the Memphis police chief has targeted bloggers in the area who have been critical of the department.
Armed and Safe, among others, calls attention to the controvery within the gun community that Mike Vanderboegh has stirred. Some among us believe his writings are over the top, but not if you consider that his premise has merit. It seems to me the rub comes in on the question of 'when' and not 'if.'
Traction Control provides a good summary of the controvery and has some entirely reasonable observations, in my opinion.
JR at A Keyboard and a .45 gives us an update on his upcoming trip to Blackwater to train with Todd Jarrett.
Roberta X points out some vital facts about the human race before we wised up and started eating meat.
Alphecca says that D.C. still doesn't get it, but one editorial writer does.
In case you missed it, The Bitch Girls provide an update to the anti-freedom billboard debacle in Philly.
Speaking of Mike Vanderboegh, Sebastian has posted a poll on the subject of revolution. Go over there, take a look, and cast a vote that represents your views on the subject.
Breda blogs on the joys of learning to shoot...and guns being 'the great equalizers.'
John Lott reports that a former proponent of the man-made global warming theory has now changed his mind.
Michelle Malkin gives us some news that was not reported in the MSM. Obama was heckled during his visit at the Western Wall in Israel...and was met with very loud and persistent protesters. But no matter. He's already in Germany where the peons will bow in worshipful praise to their Master, providing the MSM with many good photo-ops.
Texas Fred said the Second Amendment IS his gun permit! Yes, sir, I agree!
JB's Corner points to some MUST-read articles today, one of which is, 'What Part of "Drill Now" Do They Not Understand?'
Days of our Trailers provides a good example of what happens when illegal aliens are given refuge in so-called 'sanctuary cities' (i.e., cities that are breaking U.S. law).

Crackdown on Guns, Illegal Aliens in South Carolina
First, the bad news. 7th Circuit Solicitor Trey Gowdy has announced that anyone caught in Spartanburg County (South Carolina) with a gun during the summer months will potentially face prosecution in federal court.
Calling his anti-gun initiative the 'Summer of Silence,' Gowdy insists that his aggressive manner of pursuing guns is 'directed mainly at persons with lengthy criminal histories.'
And what about the rest who do not have such a history?
In addition, the state's attorney for the Spartanburg area stated that the reason for prosecuting the possession of guns in federal court rather than state court is that South Carolina law mandates little or no prison time for illegal gun possession.
But in federal court a person charged with illegally possessing a gun can get a minimum of 15 years in prison if convicted.
It would appear that Circuit Solicitor Gowdy is attempting to do an end-run to avoid having his cases dismissed in state court. South Carolina not only has very lax laws concerning illegal gun possession but the state legislature passed a very strong Castle Doctrine/Self-Defense law several years ago, which allows citizens to use deadly force to protect their lives, homes, and property.
Is Gowdy another one of the infamous state's attorneys we have discovered around the country who either outright defies state gun laws passed by legislators or who finds loopholes to get around those laws?
We shall see. It all depends on how he proceeds with this so-called 'summer of silence.'
But rest assured, should the Circuit Solicitor overstep his bounds or begin going after ordinary citizens on gun charges, The Liberty Sphere will be the first to scream bloody hell about it.

And now for the good news. The South Carolina Legislature has approved and sent to the Governor a bill that will require employers in the state to verify legal status of new hires in an attempt to prevent the hiring of illegal aliens.
Governor Mark Sanford, R-SC, stated that he will enthusiastically sign the bill.
South Carolina has found itself inundated with illegal aliens over the past few years as surrounding states have put the clamps on employers who hire them. With this new bill in place, it is expected that South Carolina will see a mass exodus of illegal aliens who have been flying underneath the radar screen.
This is a good bill that is long overdue. We wish that the federal government would get this serious about this monolithic problem.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 5/14/08
Focusing on guns and politics, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:
Here is some big news, and it's good. The North Carolina Community College system will no longer allow illegal aliens to enroll in their curriculum degree programs. Good for them! Michelle Malkin has the complete story:

Thompson Contrasts His Record with McCain's
Seeking to make a final case for the fact that he is the one consistent conservative in the GOP race in South Carolina, Fred Thompson contrasted his record with that of John McCain in several campaign stops in the state over the past two days.
Thompson has already shown that Mike Huckabee is no Reagan conservative when one looks at his entire record. Now he has set his sights on the supposed 'front-runner,' John McCain, although no GOP candidate thus far can actually lay claim to that title.
Two major national polls show that McCain is ahead in South Carolina. But Thompson has been surging fast. And as Thompson's fortune rises, Huckabee's plummets.
While McCain is certainly good enough to vote for against the likes of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or John Edwards, his record is certainly far from being 'conservative.'
Yes, he has supported every tax cut since the Reagan Administration. And yes, he is strong on national defense, U.S. foreign policy, and the War on Terror. He also has a stellar record on abortion.
However, McCain's stance on other issues is highly problematic. Despite a fairly favorable rating by the NRA, McCain has actually voted AGAINST some key pro-Second Amendment legislation in his long political career.
His involvement in the environmentalist movement is also troublesome. He has totally bought into the political rhetoric of the radical tree-huggers that global warming is caused by human activity rather than naturally occurring forces.
McCain also made no friends among conservatives when he spearheaded so-called 'campaign finance reform' and proceeded to limit free speech in the process.
And his stance on illegal aliens has been disastrous. Despite his recent rhetoric about 'making the borders secure,' he still refuses to deal with sanctuary cities, tuition breaks for illegals, and forcing illegals in get in line with the rest who wish to come here LEGALLY.
One CANNOT adequately deal with the problem of the illegal assault on America unless these specific issues are addressed, which McCain refuses to do.
One by one, Thompson showed how his views have differed drastically from McCain's on these critical issues concerning our nation.
Thompson wants to end federal funds to sanctuary cities that harbor illegal aliens against federal law. He is opposed to tuition breaks for illegals. He is also opposed to any form of amnesty, including a separate 'path to citizenship.' There is already a path to citizenship for illegals, i.e., get in line and go through the LEGAL process like ALL trustworthy human beings would do.
In addition, Fred stands for a totally unfettered Second Amendment, just as the Founders specified and is against D.C.'s gun control laws in D.C. vs. Heller at the Supreme Court. He has a 100% pro-life rating from the national Right to Life group. He has also been endorsed by South Carolinians for Life--a state pro-life group.
Thompson believes that the 'global warming' bandwagon is largely a hoax that has been debunked and discredited by at least 400 scientists--a list which is growing by the day. And he doesn't mind telling you what he thinks about the 'Big Brother' nanny state that tries to tell us what to eat, what to do, what to buy, what to drive, and all of the other symptoms of those who have a Hitler/Stalin/Messianic complex.
In short, the candidate has done his homework. Thompson can demonstrate on the record how his votes have differed with McCain's.
Thus, we South Carolinians who cherish our liberty, unrestricted First Amendment and Second Amendment rights, the right to live our lives in freedom without the nanny state dictating to us our lifestyle habits, the simple and basic premise that any honorable person in another country who wishes to live here should be expected to do so LEGALLY, MUST support Fred Thompson in this coming Saturday's GOP primary.
A vote for John McCain is like a vote for Senator Lindsey Graham. The both of them are responsible for the hideous amnesty legislation they tried to push through Congress which would have made the illegal alien problem worse.
The outcry from the average citizens across the country resoundingly condemned McCain, Graham, Ted Kennedy, and President Bush for attempting to dump this piece of garbage on the American public.
We can do better. MUCH better.
And Fred Thompson is the logical choice.

Good morning! Hope you all had a wonderful New Year's holiday.
Focusing on guns and politics, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:
A Keyboard and a .45 met up with USCitizen of Traction Control for a day at the range on New Year's Day:
http://akeyboardanda45.blogspot.com/2008/01/new-years-day-at-range.html
Traction Control adds his perspective on the day's events at the shooting range, along with pics!:

Armed and Safe muses on whether or not 2008 will be the year of the 2nd Amendment:
http://armedandsafe.blogspot.com/2008/01/2008-year-of-second-amendment.html
Ever since I began blogging, Atlas Shrugs has been a regular read. Pam Geller is one of the most effective voices against the Jihad in the blogosphere. Her New Year's Resolution is to work to get the U.S. OUT of the U.N. And here is one of the main reasons why--the U.N. mandates the number and type of refugees that are relocated here!:

Speaking of Mike Huckabee...
Since Fox News and the other major networks seem to the think that the former Arkansas Governor is a rising phenomenon who overshadows even Fred Thompson, it is important to remember several vital pieces of information.
First, I am not too keen on someone who believes that the Earth was created in 6 literal 24-hour periods becoming President...or Vice President, for that matter. And this is not to mention that Huckabee believes that the planet and the entire universe are only a few thousand years old.
Having said that, I happen to know many good, honest, and even intelligent people who believe the same thing, and it never seemed to prevent them from making rational decisions.
But for a President? Let me say it at least causes me some concern.
Second, Huckabee's record in Arkansas on immigration and taxes is not very admirable, despite all his rhetoric about 'doing the right thing.' The Governor should know that doing the right thing does NOT entail granting in-state tuition discounts and scholarships to illegal aliens and their children.
It is clearly NOT an automatic, God-given right to go to college. Many American citizens can't even attend college. So why should illegals or their children?
Huckabee further defends his record on raising taxes by pointing to how poverty-stricken Arkansas was when he was first elected. Tell me again how poverty is any justification for raising taxes? If anything, it should be the supreme reason to CUT taxes.
The fact is that Huckabee is not a real conservative. His stance on social issues does not in any way negate or blunt the blow from his blatantly liberal tax and fiscal policy or his entirely indefensible views on illegal aliens.

Immigration Issue a Sleeper Killer for Candidates
With New York Governor Eliot Spitzer throwing in the towel on his plan to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens, it is becoming clear that The Liberty Sphere's prediction from January of this year will be actualized.
The Governor was under immense pressure from average citizens to scrap the plan. He even admitted that if such a plan were to be submitted to the legislature, it would not pass due to citizen outrage.
Even in liberal New York state, the citizens are up in arms about the immigration issue.
And this is why back in January, and several times since then, The Liberty Sphere has maintained that immigration is a 'sleeper issue' that will come back to haunt political candidates if they are perceived to endorse the present broken system, or propose a fix that amounts to amnesty.
The citizens want none of it. And anything remotely resembling amnesty, such as driver's licenses for illegal aliens and its natural consequence of massive voter fraud, will result in an uprising of the citizens at the polls regardless of their apparent silence on such things beforehand.
My friends, politicians need to learn that average citizens are not rebel-rousers nor activists. Often they will remain silent until they pull the lever in the voting booth. At times they will be so infuriated by an issue that they will issue threats and vehement protests to their elected officials, such as they have been doing on immigration.
Just ask John McCain what happened to his earlier proposals on 'immigration reform.' That one issue alone probably cost him a shot at the GOP nomination. Ask U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, R-SC, what happened among his constituents when he announced his support for McCain's amnesty plan.
And now we have Governor Eliot Spitzer to add to that list. Spitzer's latest poll numbers have bottomed out so badly that some are wondering if his political career will survive the fiasco he proposed which would have allowed illegal aliens to drive legally and vote illegally, although no one would know about the latter since Bill Clinton's no-I.D. required driver's license voter registration passed in the 1990s.
Despite what her campaign had to say today after Spitzer's announcement, Mrs. Clinton, Bill's wife, endorsed the Spitzer plan after waffling on it during the last Democratic debate. Mrs. Clinton has always supported open borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, and driver's licenses for illegals. Now she has flip-flopped yet again and claims she never supported the Spitzer plan at all.
But the woman is not stupid. She knows that a large number of votes for Democratic candidates come from illegal aliens (and the dead who somehow rise up from their graves on election day to cast a dozen or more votes a piece for Democratic candidates).
Voters in Democratic primaries tend to support these less-than-honorable schemes to get votes. But watch out for the general electorate.
The citizens are getting tired of the sleaze represented by candidates such as Mrs. Clinton. Not only is it time for massive immigration reform to deal with illegal aliens, but it is time for voting reform as well, removing from the rolls the names of people who have long since been dead but whose names are still being used by vermin to vote early and often for Democratic candidates.
