Extremist environmentalist nutcase algore is working the phones like crazy to help Obama, Pelosi, and other tax-hungry politicians ram through the ominous cap and trade bill.
ACT NOW to stop it! Call your Senators and Representatives to express your strong disapproval of this bill.
The bill will lead to the loss of an estimated one million U.S. jobs in the midst of a deep recession. It will also mean that every household in America will owe at least $3000 per year extra on their energy costs.
Can you afford that? I can't.
This amounts to nothing more than a tax levied on every American citizen--poor, middle class, and wealthy--in order to line the government coffers and 'stick it' to the oil and natural gas industry...the single largest source of energy for our homes.
Call Washington and tell these money-grubbing thieves NO!

Conflict of Interest, There, Nan?
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, or 'Nan' as Michelle Malkin calls her, is implicated in a potential conflict of interest scheme over her obstructionism on oil drilling and her support for 'wind turbine' technology.
It seems 'Big Government Nanny' Pelosi has hefty investments in the 'big wind' industry of former oilman T. Boone Pickens!
California has also placed on the ballot several initiatives to be voted on by residents this November that have to do with a heavy push toward 'wind turbine' technology, which would supposedly replace dependence on oil by up to 50% in just a few short years.
Of course, in order to reach that goal, T. Boone's companies would have to place wind turbines by the thousands on hillsides throughout California.
This is the plan that Pickens wants all of America to adopt.
Can you imagine a windmill on every lawn, in every field, on every hillside, and on every building in America? This is practically the number of wind turbines it would take to replace 50% of our dependence on oil.
Now back to Nan.
Nan has consistently refused to allow an up or down vote in the House on offshore oil drilling. Yet the entire time she was investing heavily in 'big wind.' In fact, she and T. Boone are practically using the very same talking points.
But what's the difference between that 'evil' enterprise called 'big oil' and 'big wind'?
Health advocates claim that 'big wind' is more damaging to the public health than 'big oil. ' Oregon Live has an interesting report on the ill health effects of wind turbines located near residences.
But Nan and her liberal comrades in California made sure voters' propositions were placed on the November ballot to approve the plan to expand big wind as no other industry has expanded in recent memory.
And guess who would be one of the major beneficiaries of such an expansion?
T. Boone and his investors, such as Big Government Nanny Pelosi.
Do I smell a conflict of interest, there, Nan? Is your opposition to oil drilling related in any way at all to your personal investment in wind turbine technology?
For more on this story, click HERE for the full details provided by Michelle Malkin.

Gearing Up for Day 7
Today marks Day 7 of the GOP floor revolt in the U.S. House of Representatives. The GOP is calling for Nancy Pelosi to call Congress back in session in order to deal with the nation's energy needs.
As we gear up for Day 7, I thought it would be beneficial to provide the observations of a blogger on the scene--a writer who was present in the House Chamber on Friday, as well as earlier in the week.
These are first-hand observations of a member of 'the new media'--a citizen journalist who blogs. These reports show House Republicans in action, assertively providing the leadership needed to get America rolling on oil drilling, wind and solar power, fuel cell technology, as well as a host of other alternative sources of energy.
Read both reports in their entirety. This is America at work.

All in One Day--Obama Flip Flops on Oil
He started out the day on Friday reiterating his strong opposition to offshore oil drilling. By late afternoon he had changed his position, stated that he 'could support limited offshore drilling' provided it is tied to more taxes for oil companies.
Barack Obama, as it turns out, actually knows how to read the polls. Would that Nancy Pelosi could do the same.
But Barack's limited support for offshore drilling comes with a price.
A so-called 'Gang of 10' in the U.S. Senate is working on a compromise deal that will break the gridlock on drilling. The bill would allow the Dems to go after speculators who they blame for 'jacking up' oil prices on the open market. And it would allow the GOP to drill in offshore areas Congress has blocked for years.
This is the bill Obama says he can support.
But Barack and the Democrats want higher taxes on the oil companies, which they will in turn pass along to us, the consumers. Then, they want to take the money and use it to fund government research for alternative energy and 'green cars' that use 'renewable biofuels.'
Big mistake. We have already seen what the 'biofuels' craze has done to food prices.
The compromise bill is a mistake. The GOP has an issue that is resonating with the American public, and to 'compromise' with obstructionists is tantamount to making a deal with the devil. I believe the GOP can hold fast to no compromise because the American public is behind 'drill here, drill now.'
We don't need the support of Socialists who want more tax dollars and who want the government, not the private sector, to develop alternative energy.
Sure, McCain also once opposed offshore oil drilling. But he didn't state two different positions on the subject in the course of one day.
Perhaps the GOP-led floor revolt against Nancy Pelosi's obstructionism on the oil issue helped 'Barry O' change his mind. It's hard to swim against a swelling current that is flowing in the GOP's favor throughout the country, isn't it, Barry?

FUHRER PELOSI ORDERS HOUSE SHUT-DOWN
It was an unplanned, spontaneous move to demand that Democrats in Congress open up offshore oil drilling, which they have blocked for decades.
House Republicans refused to go home after Fuhrer Pelosi declared the House in recess for a 5-week vacation without taking any action on gas prices and drilling here at home for our nation's energy needs.
Before long, citizens in the D.C. area heard about the GOP protest and began driving in to join those who spoke from the House floor without any lights or microphones.
Tourists cheered as GOP statesmen, one by one, decried the inaction of the Democrats.
But then, Fuhrer Pelosi decided she'd had enough. She ordered Capitol guards to shut down the building late this afternoon. Even the air conditioning was to be shut off.
The Fuhrer can't have an uprising of the people and their representatives that could potentially put her and her Party in a negative light, although they garner only a 9% approval rating.
House Republicans insist they will stay at the Capitol during entire weekend if necessary, attempting to force the Democratic leadership to reconvene to consider what Americans by overwhelming majorities demand--to DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW.
Finally, the House GOP grew some brass ones, which they have been lacking for the past few years. Good for them!
Maybe now we can realistically hope for a coup during which we dispose of every single Democrat up for re-election in the Fall. Yes, ALL of them. If they can't stand up to Pelosi, then they don't deserve to be there at all.

Facts About Access to Our Own Oil
Nancy Pelosi and her obstructionist co-conspirators in the Democratic Party have been parroting a 'talking points' strategy of late, blaming the oil companies for not drilling on offshore land they have already leased.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist, however, to figure out that prudence dictates drilling where we know there is oil, not just anywhere.
The oil companies want the land that has been blocked from access by Congress under the influence of the environmentalist wackos. It is here that we can find some of the richest crude oil fields in the world.
But the enviro-wackos and the Democrats they have bought off do not want us to have that oil, for this would foil their plan to force Americans off of oil entirely...even before the economy and society as a whole can sustain it.
This may be an excellent long-term goal. But for the short-term it is asinine.
And Americans by overwhelming numbers know it. This is why most of us support immediate offshore drilling, including drilling in areas presently forbidden by Congress.
Jane Van Ryan of the American Petroleum Institute has graciously provided The Liberty Sphere with information concerning access to our own oil.
The following is a fact-sheet published by the Institute that explains the problem of access and how to address it.

Pelosi Admonishes Bush to 'Free Our Oil'
Like a war protester mouthing a sound byte for the masses who watch the boob tube with glazed-over eyes, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admonished the Bush Administration on Thursday to 'free our oil.'
Is the oil being held hostage? Is it enslaved somewhere by the wicked Pharaoh George W. Bush?
Pelosi, of course, was speaking about the nation's strategic oil reserve, the back-up supply of energy the government keeps on hand in case of a national emergency.
A few facts stated up-front are in order.
First, releasing some of the reserve will not effect prices at the pump one red nickel.
Second, the oil in the reserve is not meant to be used as a means of addressing market issues to begin with. That oil is held back in case the nation is hit unexpectedly with a true national emergency of catastrophic proportions, such as a massive terrorist attack, a natural disaster of mega-proportions, a total cut-off of oil from our overseas suppliers, etc.
Third, if the oil in reserve is tapped for non-emergencies, it could severely hamper our ability to address the nation's oil needs in the midst of a real crisis.
Pelosi knows these things.
The only reason she brought up the 'free our oil' mantra was to take the focus off of her obstructive stance in blocking attempts by the GOP and the President to get the nation off its duff and start drilling here, now.
Pelosi as Speaker of the House has single-handedly prevented any proposal to lift the Congressional ban on offshore drilling from reaching the House floor. Thus, in her obstructionist tactics she is to a great degree responsible for the failure of this country in addressing its oil needs in the short-term and medium-term.
Releasing some oil from an emergency reserve does nothing at all to address the need. But Pelosi hopes that the mantra, 'Free our oil,' will gain some traction with the zombies of the far-Left who will mouth off the mantra on cue.
Privately, a few more level-headed Democrats say off the record that the reason Pelosi blocks attempts to bring the bill to lift the ban on offshore drilling to the House floor is that she is afraid of being embarrassed by defections within her own Party.
Apparently more than a few Democrats are willing to jump ship and vote with the GOP to start the drilling now.
It will be interesting to watch to see which is more important to the Speaker: to relent and allow the country to address a problem prudently, or to continue to obstruct and thus drag the Democrats down with her as she sinks the Congress to a new low in public approval.
