More on Hillary's Gas Problem

Not only has Hillary Clinton opened herself to endless jokes, centering on the unfortunate pun that many with periodic juvenile tendencies like me will use as fodder, but she has also demonstrated in the waning days just before the Iowa Caucuses that she will do anything to get elected, including the obvious demagoguery inherent in her claim that a vote for her is a vote to lower oil prices.

As if she has any control over that whatsoever...

Nonetheless, she now has a major problem on her hands--a gas problem of mammoth proportions. OK, for you prudes out there, a gasoline problem.

Several points of consideration become readily apparent:

1. The candidate is so desperate that she will risk alienating thinking people by claiming that if she is elected oil prices will automatically and immediately drop.

2. She is also arrogant enough to assume that Iowans will accept her assessment that Jimmy Carter was 'on the right track' with energy policy and that Ronald Reagan ruined it all by dismantling Carter's work, which by the way, was quite a job. During Carter's tenure gasoline prices more than doubled, not to mention the shortages and long lines at the pump.

3. The fact that she used one of the most unpopular and discredited Presidents in U.S. history to bolster her views on energy policy is not exactly the most prudent course in an election. And then, to turn around and bash one of the most popular Presidents in U.S. history is simply nuts.

4. The candidate knows that most voters are NOT going to know the facts and figures about taxes on gasoline as opposed to the profits of the oil companies. She can thus lie to them and deceive them. But right here on The Liberty Sphere you will get the facts. Better still, do your own research. The oil companies make 13 cents per gallon in profits on gasoline sold in America. The federal government, and state and local governments, get roughly 60-80 cents per gallon (depending on the area of the country) in gasoline taxes.

It would seem, then, that if anyone is making a 'windfall profit' on gasoline, it is most assuredly the government.

Yet Mrs. Clinton wishes to raise the federal tax on gasoline even further, brow-beat the oil companies into lowering prices, and thus cut into the profits of the shareholders, and then further take much of whatever profits remain in order to set up a fund in Washington for 'alternative fuels.'

This is a recipe for disaster at the pump with regard to prices, not to mention that Venezuelan Communist Hugo Chavez would be most proud.

Perhaps citizens in Iowa will catch on to Hillary's latest scheme and send her a strong and clear message during the caucuses.

Vote In Our Exclusive Poll on Hillary's Gas Claims

Well, my friends, it seems that during this year's holiday season 'Hillary' and 'gas' have become synonymous.

I know what you are thinking. You think I am referring to her playing up her haggard, middle-aged woman thing, as she attempts to appeal to one of her strongest bases of support, older women.

Why, I would never in a million years remotely suggest that Hillary has a gas problem. There are too many good remedies for that on the market.

Nope, this is about Hillary's claim that if she is elected gas prices will immediately plummet.

What say you? Vote in The Liberty Sphere's exclusive poll you will see in the left sidebar. You can select more than one answer. The poll is open until 11:59 PM on Jan. 1 and is unscientific.

Come on, let your voice be heard on Hillary's gas.

Hillary Claims Oil Prices Drop Immediately if Elected

In a stunning display of desperation, Hillary Rodham Clinton claimed on Sunday in Iowa that if she is elected oil prices will experience a dramatic sudden drop.

FACT CHECK! In actuality, Mrs. Clinton has repeatedly stated during her campaign for President that the federal tax on oil should be dramatically increased and that she plans on 'taking that money from oil companies,' referring to robbing the corporations and their stockholders of millions of dollars of profits in order to set up a federal fund to explore alternative fuels.

These proposals will do anything but cause oil prices to drop.

The government already gets roughly 6 times the amount per gallon in taxes than the oil companies make in profits. Yet Mrs. Clinton proposes raising the federal tax on gas at the pump, where by the time you add local, state, and federal taxes we are already paying between 50 and 60 cents per gallon.

The oil companies make a mere 13 cents per gallon in profits.

In addition, if Mrs. Clinton is going to raid the profits of the oil companies and their shareholders, you can bet your last drop of Texas-T that gas prices will go through the roof. This kind of anti-capitalism and anti-business, closely akin to Hugo Chavez, will not exactly reassure oil company execs that they can safely reduce prices.

Mrs. Clinton went further to make some of the most outlandishly erroneous statements she has ever uttered. She claims that Jimmy Carter was 'on the right track' in the late 70s in reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

FACT CHECK!! I remember those days very well because I had to travel by car extensively. During Jimmy Carter's term in office, 1976-1980, gas prices went from roughly 44 cents per gallon to over ONE DOLLAR per gallon in 1979.

There were long gas lines and shortages as well.

Yet Hillary states that Brother Jimmy was 'on the right track.'

Well, if that was the right track, I would surely hate to see what the WRONG track would have been. And if we were 'on the right track' then Ronald Reagan would not have beaten the socks off of politically impotent Carter.

But stay with me. There's even more.

Hillary went further to state that Ronald Reagan 'dismantled' the 'good work' Carter was doing with regard to energy.

FACT CHECK!! The only thing President Reagan dismantled was the asinine, boneheaded, and imbecilic policies of the Carter Administration, which led to gas shortages, long lines at the pump, and gas prices that more than doubled.

After Reagan had been in office less than a year, gas prices settled back down to below 75 cents per gallon. Long lines at the pump vanished. And there were no more shortages.

You see, my friends, liberals/socialists like Hillary Clinton believe that the citizens should be forced to endure pain and suffering as a means of mandating a change in their lifestyle. And, since they have always had a Freudian issue with oil, the objective is to make it as expensive and hard to get as possible so that Americans will be forced to turn to something else.

The only reason husband Bill didn't do this in the 1990s is that he is much more of a shrewd politician than Hillary. Even so, Clinton raised federal taxes on oil.

No doubt Hillary sincerely believes the balderdash she has just unleashed. But I never thought she was dumb enough to say so right out in the open just days before the Iowa Caucuses.

She is desperate, no doubt. And she is betting on picking up some votes from those who merely hear the 5-second sound-byte, 'Oil prices will drop immediately if I am elected.'

But then again, maybe the stress of the campaign trail is really starting to get to her. This is the stuff of loony-'toons, not serious leaders.

Clinton Ladies Intervention Team Strikes Again

The Clinton Ladies Intervention Team, the name coined by columnist Monica Crowley to designate Mrs. Clinton's hit squad that is charged with the task of planting questions at opponent's news conferences and debates, as well as coordinate the vast network news machine controlled by Hillary, has been quite busy since the candidate was booed in Iowa on Saturday.

As expected, the Clinton Ladies Intervention Team jumped into high gear following a disastrous question-and-answer session by phone that the candidate had with Iowa voters.

The weather was so bad that Clinton was forced to cancel her appearance, but she took questions by phone. The crowd booed the candidate at least four or five times during her brief session with them.

Mrs. Clinton made no friends and may well have created some enemies when she answered questions on illegal aliens. She made it clear she supports a 'path to citizenship' for illegals, enabling them to circumvent the legal process that millions of others went through, thus catapulting them to the head of the line, in front of those seeking LEGAL citizenship.

The candidate also stated that she would seek to accomplish this along with the Democrat-controlled Congress within her first 100 days in office.

The boos began to crescendo until by the time the candidate hung up the phone, very loud boos were heard from the audience.

Thus, today it was the Clinton Ladies Intervention Team to the rescue.

CBS News and Katie Couric practically joined the team today as not only did they fail to show Mrs. Clinton's disastrous question-and-answer session in Iowa on Saturday but they took pains to show her in a very friendly crowd today, as the candidate coincidentally proceeded to take swipes at the Bush Administration.

In addition, Clinton got loads of free publicity, compliments of Couric and Company, when the Evening News did a segment on 'attempting to get the youth vote.' Here again, the segment coincidentally focused almost exclusively on the Democrats rather than Republicans, although the segment was designed to show the importance of youth to BOTH Parties.

But guess who got most of the airtime in the segment? You guess it--Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In fact, Couric and Company broadcast a key quote from Mrs. Clinton as she stated, 'The youth and their future is what this campaign is all about.'

If one is paying attention merely to the pictorial symbols and not the spin-verbiage that Couric used to mislead viewers concerning the nature of the piece, it is clear that the network wished for viewers to take with them two powerful images and thoughts--one, only Democrats are concerned about the youth of America, and two, it is Mrs. Clinton who has fashioned her entire campaign around youth and their future.

As if we didn't already know, we are now assured with proof positive that Couric and CBS News are part of the Clinton Ladies Intervention Team.

Anderson Cooper Lied About Clinton Plant at GOP Debate

Rush Limbaugh is reporting today that CNN's Anderson Cooper knew the gay General who turned out to be a Clinton plant at the GOP debate, after all.

You may remember that in the aftermath of the discovery that Mrs. Clinton and several Democratic candidates had actually planted questioners at the Republican debate, Mr. Cooper denied that he or CNN had any prior knowledge that the General worked for Mrs. Clinton.

Yet a caller to the Limbaugh radio program today, a person who was chosen by YouTube to ask a question at the debate, stated that out of the entire group of chosen questioners, Cooper singled out the General immediately in the crowd and stated, 'Nice to see you, General.'

Thus, Anderson Cooper's claim of total ignorance in the entire matter is highly suspect at best and at least a barefaced lie on one point--the reporter knew who the gay General was, despite his denials.

The question is, did Cooper know that the General worked for the Clinton campaign? Many media observers say that it would be nearly impossible for CNN and its anchor NOT to know.

As we expected, the oozing, dripping sleaze from the Clinton Ladies Intervention Team keeps oozing on.

Oh, and add Anderson Cooper to the Clinton Ladies Intervention Team.

Clinton Ladies Intervention Team (C.L.I.T.)

But the real criticism should be directed to the Junior Senator from New York, whose campaign is getting away with murder out there. Peppering the audiences with her supporters (who last night booed everyone EXCEPT the only guy she can beat: Huckabee), planting questions, denying knowledge, stonewalling to the death. These are classic Clintonian tactics. She should be called out on them rather than have CNN take all of the slings and arrows. CNN was at fault, but the Clinton Ladies Intervention Team also played CNN—-and us—-like a Stradivarius.

Monica Crowley, Political Mavens columnist and Fox News commentator, has coined the perfect term for Mrs. Clinton's team of femi-nazi hit men. The above quote, from Crowley, refers to her 'plants' as the 'Clinton Ladies Intervention Team,' or 'C.L.I.T.'

And as you can see from Ms. Crowley's quote, C.L.I.T. has been quite busy all over the country creating as much mayhem as possible, even turning the last GOP Presidential debate into a Hillary-fest along with the help of the Clinton News Network (CNN).

Although there is absolutely no evidence at all to think so, one is led to wonder if the 'dangerous incident' regarding the deranged bomber who stormed the Clinton campaign office in New Hampshire with flares strapped to his chest was actually a set-up job, compliments of C.L.I.T.

After all, the man had no bomb, no firearms, and posed no real danger to anyone or himself. He was well-known to the local police department as a person who is off his rocker.

And Mrs. Clinton got TONS of free publicity on ALL of the networks and in ALL of the newspapers, just after suffering one of the worst weeks a candidate could have in a campaign.

How convenient.

I highly doubt that the bomb scare was anything but a news story about a sick man who wanted some attention. But the thing is, the American people have come to expect the worst from both Bill and Hillary when it comes to these matters. It certainly would be very 'Clintonesque.'

Come on, now. Try to convince me that you did not, at least once, have the fleeting thought during the 'hostage crisis' that the Clinton machine staged the whole thing.

In the highly unlikely event that the thing was staged in order to evoke sympathy for the candidate after several weeks of very bad news, it certainly did not work if Iowa is any indication.

Hillary was booed when she phoned in to a political rally in Iowa today. The weather prevented her appearance, but she called in to take questions from the crowd. Immediately the attendees peppered the candidate with questions about illegal aliens and the so-called 'path to citizenship.'

When Mrs. Clinton answered that she has always supported such a path for illegal aliens, she was booed. The moderator thus asked the question a second time, whereupon the candidate further alienated Iowans with her intention to attempt to accomplish this with the help of a Democratic Congress in her first 100 days in office.

More boos ensued.

When the moderator wished Mrs. Clinton well in the aftermath of the 'hostage crisis,' Clinton hung up the phone to very loud boos.

So much for creating sympathy. I suppose that now it's time to put C.L.I.T. back into action.

I'm sure we can expect them at each event featuring her opponents, perhaps posing as religious conservative housewives asking Mitt Romney if he would commit to placing at least one lesbian on his Cabinet if elected.

BOMBSHELL! CLINTON PLANTED QUESTION AT GOP DEBATE

Overshadowing the issues discussed during Wednesday night's GOP debate is the stunning revelation that Hillary Rodham Clinton planted a questioner at the debate. CNN's Anderson Cooper quickly responded to the discovery by saying that neither he nor the network were aware that the questioner worked for the Clinton campaign.

Thus, CNN's ineptitude and bias, and Mrs. Clinton's sleaze overshadow almost everything else.

A question was taken from a member of the audience at the debate concerning the U.S. military's policy of 'don't ask don't tell' regarding gays. But it turns out that the questioner, Keith Kerr, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army and a retired Brigadier General of the California National Reserve, is a member of Hillary Rodham Clinton's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Americans for Hillary Steering Committee.

Kerr is also part of a filming crew that is attempting to overturn the policy of 'don't ask don't tell.'

Hence, the oozing, dripping sleaze of the Clinton campaign comes staring American voters in the face as she has been caught red-handed, once again, engaging in 'question planting.'

As for Anderson Cooper, he admitted in the final moments of CNN's post-debate commentary that Kerr was a member of the Clinton campaign, and had he known this fact he would have disclosed it.

Pardon me, Mr. Cooper, but don't you mean you would have disallowed the 'plant' to ask a question at all? That would have been the only honorable and ethical thing to do.

But of course, when your network is practically the television division of the Clinton Campaign, why would we expect you to disqualify a questioner who is there under false pretenses, particularly when that questioner works for Hillary Clinton?

And thus, my friends, we are treated to yet another example of Hillary's sleaze and CNN's bias.

As for the debate, so what that Rudy and Mitt had a knock-down, drag-out over immigration? These guys are practically a part of the angel Gabriel's choir when compared to the corruption exhibited by CNN and Mrs. Clinton, Bill's wife.

This Wasn't Supposed to Happen

Here are some of my comments from here and there in the world of politics, which I have entitled, 'This Wasn't Supposed to Happen.'

At the top of the list, of course, is the stunning revelation by veteran conservative commentator Bob Novak that Mrs. Clinton is using Nixonian 'dirty tricks' against her rivals in her own party. Mrs. Clinton stated she had explosive and scandalous information on one of her rivals. No sooner had she released the comment than Barack Hussein Obama spilled the beans that he had smoked pot and snorted cocaine back in his wild, younger days.

Of course, Mrs. Clinton is up to her neck in scandals of her own, not the least of which are planting questions all over the country in supposed 'impromptu' question and answer sessions, flip-flopping at least 3 times in one week on giving drivers' licenses to illegal aliens, accepting dirty money from Norman Hsu and at least a dozen impoverished Chinese donors who supposedly gave her campaigns tens of thousands of dollars.

No one in the mainstream media has of yet held Mrs. Clinton's feet to the fire over these dirty money pyramid schemes, which are illegal.

None of this was in the playbook of the Clinton-Democratic Party-CNN-Mainstream Media political campaign to elect Hillary, of course.

Extraordinary news from the realm of science indicates that stem cell research can be done without the use of human embryos. The stem cells created from adult skin cells are just as effective in research as the use of embryonic stem cells.

GOP Presidential candidate Fred Thompson immediately praised the research that led to the breakthrough, which of course, chaps the backsides of the abortion industry, which has a vested interest in keeping science stuck in a rut--a rut which benefits abortion mills handsomely.

Thompson stated, 'Using adult stem cells negates the need for cloning embryos to harvest their stem cells.'

The only other Presidential contender in either party who praised the latest breakthrough was Mitt Romney.

Again, this announcement comes at a very bad time for those politicians and social activists who have a vested interest in promoting the practice of abortion for the purpose of making money off of 'scientific research.' Perhaps now such persons can best be used as members of the Flat Earth Society.

Speaking of Mitt Romney, the candidate made a reprehensible comment a couple of days ago to the effect that he could support the arrest and incarceration of 'abortionists.' It is to be assumed that he is referring to physicians who perform the procedure.

While one can make a case for the fact that doctors who work exclusively in abortion mills are sleazy, untrustworthy types of the baser sort, many legitimate physicians perform the procedure for entirely legitimate medical purposes. We can see all kinds of confusing legal entanglements resulting from such a move to incarcerate physicians, not the least of which is that the move would be ripe for major mistakes.

In addition, we can just hear many women thinking to themselves that it is only a short step from jailing abortionists to jailing women who have had abortions...not a very encouraging prospect for women who have been through enough emotional angst already.

Romney should have simply kept his mouth shut. This could well be his major faux pas on the campaign trail thus far, and it is a mistake that could haunt him badly.

The Pentagon was ecstatic over the latest news from Iraq. The official statistics on fatalities, casualties, terrorist and insurgent attacks surprised even the most optimistic souls in the U.S. Government. The latest figures show a very sharp decline in violence in the region, particularly in and around Baghdad.

Reports from the region indicate that local residents are actually not afraid to venture out of their homes into the streets, and businesses are beginning to flourish once again.

Leftists and other Democrats are sure to be highly disappointed that such news is forthcoming at a time when they need desperately for America to lose. The primaries are just over a month away, and then the 2008 Presidential campaign will be on in earnest...a bad time for the Democrats to face good news on a war they need the U.S. to lose.

Despite the wonderful news that our brave men and women in the U.S. military are getting the job done, Billy Richardson stated in the last Demo debate that he disagreed that the surge in Iraq is working. In fact, he said it was failing.

My, my, Billy. When the facts are so dismal for you and your Party, just keep pretending that things are as they were back some 8 months ago, eh?

By the way, have we told you lately that you are too dumb to be President?
