Two Easy Targets

Conventional wisdom has it that the Democrats would be unbeatable with a ticket that has both Hillary and Obama on it. However, in the 2008 Presidential campaign we can safely throw out the window conventional political wisdom.

Political Science 101 will not prepare one for the present scenario.

Under normal circumstances it is assumed, and correctly so, that the two top candidates for their particular Party's nomination would make the strongest ticket in the general election. Many assume this would be the case this year in particular with the Democrats, given the fact that one of their two top candidates is a charismatic and photogenic speaker and the other is the spouse of a popular former President.

I beg to differ.

Clinton and Obama offer the Republicans two very easy targets. If the Democrats present the nation with a ticket consisting of both, the only question remaining is, which scandal or liability do we start with today?

And that would be the most difficult decision given that there are so many possibilities from which to choose.

Both of the Democratic candidates have glaring weaknesses. Pennsylvania polls showed us that even most Democrats do not believe Hillary to be trustworthy. Those same polls show that Obama is perceived by a significant number as an elitist snob who says what he has to say in order to appease the sensitivities of a particular group, although he is clearly unable to make gut-level connections with ordinary, average citizens.

And when it comes to political acumen, both candidates have made glaring errors in judgment in terms of strategy and 'off-the-cuff' comments that inadvertently allow voters to see that the real person is a far cry from the public persona.

This has hurt Obama in particular due to the fact that he has gone out of his way to portray himself as the one candidate who is honest, genuine, and has the pulse of what 'the common man' holds dear.

Yet when his guard was down in the friendly confines of like-minded elitists, surrounded by a group of San Francisco Democratic Party liberals, he discloses that 'the common man' is a scared and bitter ignoramus who deals with his emotions by clinging to his guns and religion.

Hillary's disingenuousness is well-known and documented. The only question is, what whopper of a tale will she be caught in next? And, what skeletons still remain hidden in the closet?

Thus, the Republicans are not automatically knocked out of the ballgame with a Hillary-Obama ticket or an Obama-Hillary ticket. In fact, having TWO easy targets may well be twice as advantageous as having one.

More Trouble for Hillary

CBS News is reporting that Hillary Clinton, in an attempt to embellish and exaggerate her 'experience,' has essentially lied to the public concerning her trip to war-torn Bosnia in 1999 while her husband was President.

In an obvious attempt to pad her resume, Hillary has repeatedly claimed that she helped negotiate peace in Northern Ireland, held high-level negotiations in Bosnia, helped secure open borders for refugees fleeing Kosovo, and that her flight into Bosnia in 1999 was riddled with gun-fire.

All of these, according to the record, are gross exaggerations.

Hillary never had high-level security clearance, nor was she ever at the table during meetings involving national security either with U.S. personnel or foreign leaders.

Although Hillary has repeatedly claimed she has over 30 years of experience dealing with the things with which Presidents grapple, her schedule, which was made public this week by the Clinton Campaign, shows no such activity.

And videotape shows that her flight into Bosnia in 1999 was as smooth as silk.

Thus, essentially on the Democratic side we are dealing with two individuals, neither of whom have significant experience on a national level, and both of whom tend to lie their way out of the jams they both have a penchant for getting into.

No wonder so many Democrats are wanting an Al Gore ticket. But he has told some major whoppers too, especially about the environment. Bring him on.

Hillary Claims Oil Prices Drop Immediately if Elected

In a stunning display of desperation, Hillary Rodham Clinton claimed on Sunday in Iowa that if she is elected oil prices will experience a dramatic sudden drop.

FACT CHECK! In actuality, Mrs. Clinton has repeatedly stated during her campaign for President that the federal tax on oil should be dramatically increased and that she plans on 'taking that money from oil companies,' referring to robbing the corporations and their stockholders of millions of dollars of profits in order to set up a federal fund to explore alternative fuels.

These proposals will do anything but cause oil prices to drop.

The government already gets roughly 6 times the amount per gallon in taxes than the oil companies make in profits. Yet Mrs. Clinton proposes raising the federal tax on gas at the pump, where by the time you add local, state, and federal taxes we are already paying between 50 and 60 cents per gallon.

The oil companies make a mere 13 cents per gallon in profits.

In addition, if Mrs. Clinton is going to raid the profits of the oil companies and their shareholders, you can bet your last drop of Texas-T that gas prices will go through the roof. This kind of anti-capitalism and anti-business, closely akin to Hugo Chavez, will not exactly reassure oil company execs that they can safely reduce prices.

Mrs. Clinton went further to make some of the most outlandishly erroneous statements she has ever uttered. She claims that Jimmy Carter was 'on the right track' in the late 70s in reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

FACT CHECK!! I remember those days very well because I had to travel by car extensively. During Jimmy Carter's term in office, 1976-1980, gas prices went from roughly 44 cents per gallon to over ONE DOLLAR per gallon in 1979.

There were long gas lines and shortages as well.

Yet Hillary states that Brother Jimmy was 'on the right track.'

Well, if that was the right track, I would surely hate to see what the WRONG track would have been. And if we were 'on the right track' then Ronald Reagan would not have beaten the socks off of politically impotent Carter.

But stay with me. There's even more.

Hillary went further to state that Ronald Reagan 'dismantled' the 'good work' Carter was doing with regard to energy.

FACT CHECK!! The only thing President Reagan dismantled was the asinine, boneheaded, and imbecilic policies of the Carter Administration, which led to gas shortages, long lines at the pump, and gas prices that more than doubled.

After Reagan had been in office less than a year, gas prices settled back down to below 75 cents per gallon. Long lines at the pump vanished. And there were no more shortages.

You see, my friends, liberals/socialists like Hillary Clinton believe that the citizens should be forced to endure pain and suffering as a means of mandating a change in their lifestyle. And, since they have always had a Freudian issue with oil, the objective is to make it as expensive and hard to get as possible so that Americans will be forced to turn to something else.

The only reason husband Bill didn't do this in the 1990s is that he is much more of a shrewd politician than Hillary. Even so, Clinton raised federal taxes on oil.

No doubt Hillary sincerely believes the balderdash she has just unleashed. But I never thought she was dumb enough to say so right out in the open just days before the Iowa Caucuses.

She is desperate, no doubt. And she is betting on picking up some votes from those who merely hear the 5-second sound-byte, 'Oil prices will drop immediately if I am elected.'

But then again, maybe the stress of the campaign trail is really starting to get to her. This is the stuff of loony-'toons, not serious leaders.

Clinton Cats of Corruption--More Than Just 9 Lives

Had the cats of corruption--Bill and Hillary Clinton--been actual felines, they would have run out of lives years ago. But these are really big cats. They have more than just 9 lives. And they have decades of scandal to prove it.

Can any honest and sincere person think of a time, ever, when the name 'Clinton' was not synonymous with 'corruption'?

And yet not only have they survived it all but they have managed to flourish when under normal circumstances their political careers would have been long since dead and buried.

Despite the attempts of Democrats to paint the Clinton years as the most economically productive in the nation's history--in spite of the fact that the actual figures show that much of the so-called economic growth was based on fluff and doctored numbers, i.e., Healthsouth, Enron, Global Crossing, and many more--the two terms of Bill Clinton are much more synonymous with one scandal after another, a succession of sleaze that would embarrass the Harding Administration in the early 1920s.

Travelgate; the Vince Foster 'suicide;' Janet Reno's order to murder American citizens in Waco because they were members of a religious cult; Reno's use of jackbooted thugs to seize a little boy, whose mother had lost her life bringing him to freedom, in order to ship him back to a Communist dictatorship; China-gate (yet another campaign fundraising scandal involving Chinese Communists); Hillary's attempt to seize private healthcare in lieu of a nationalized system in which it would have been a felony to seek out a private-pay physician--all point to one big problem that spells graft.

And this is only the tip of the iceberg. Notice that we have not yet gotten to Monica and the President's lying under oath. There are far too many more damning scandals in which the Clintons were directly involved, such as the mysterious deaths of individuals who have had the goods on the Clintons dating all the way back to Arkansas.

It is no small occurrence that one of the Clinton's closest pals from Arkansas, Susan McDougal, spent years in prison because she refused to squeal on Bill and Hillary.

What, exactly, about the Clintons was so damning that a friend was willing to give years of her life in jail rather than talk?

Yet these and many other examples of the Clinton Cats of Corruption failed to bury the pair as a viable political force. None of it seemed to matter at all to the public, and the mainstream media, of course, successfully negotiated itself through these treacherous waters so as to promote Clinton without failing to report on the massive failures of his years in office.

Reagan was often called 'the Teflon President' because none of the scandal in his Administration seemed to stick to the President personally. There is good reason for that. None of it involved the President personally.

With the Clintons, however, it was all personal, yet somehow they got away with it and continue to do so today.

The growing scandal involving the illegal campaign scheme of a fugitive from justice who orchestrated millions of dollars going into Hillary's campaign coffers under the names of individuals who could not afford such lavish gifts is yet another example of the exceeding graft of the Clinton Cats.

Apparently Norman Hsu got away with breaking federal law on individual donation limits by spreading the loot around in the names of countless individuals, such as the Paws in California, who make a mere $49,000 per year and yet who are listed as having contributed $45,000 to Hillary's campaigns.

No doubt there is much more here than what meets the eye. A case that is presently tied up in court involves a video which shows Bill and Hillary engaging in violations of federal campaign finance laws.

The question is, how many more scandals, how many more broken laws and ruined lives, how much more corruption and sleaze will the Clintons foist upon the American public before the electorate says, 'ENOUGH!'?

John Lott Exposes Motive in Hillary's Attack

Washington, DC (TLS). Nationally recognized author, educator, and news consultant John Lott has exposed the motive behind Hillary Clinton's attack on Fred Thompson, making the false charge that he once worked for a group of abortion advocates.

The Associated Press picked up on Hillary's charge and ran with it, never once questioning the veracity of the accusation.

Why would Hillary makes such a ludicrous charge? First, she is scared stiff by Fred Thompson. Thus, she must attack. Second, it is much easier for the guilty party to escape scrutiny by pointing to the supposed guilt of another, or accusing an innocent person of guilt.

Let's not forget who is really the abortion-supporter here. Hillary has been one of the most long-standing, vocal advocates for abortion-on-demand--along with Barack Hussein Obama and basically every Democratic candidate for President.

Her barefaced lies about Fred Thompson take the focus off of her own sordid record.
