To be fair, U.S. immigration policy has been in dire need of revision for decades, although not in the manner that "immigration reform" proponents desire. The politicians who support such reforms want a policy that will lead to an explosive assault on the United States from the southern border.Click here to continue...
U.S. immigration policy has been woefully unfair, too lax, and based on numbers that the economy and the society as a whole cannot sustain. Even with the current laxity of immigration, that is not enough for law-breakers who decide to illegally enter the country.

Spotlight on hypocrisy of gun control elites
The spotlight is now shining on the hypocrisy of gun control elitists in public office and in Hollywood as they attack the right of citizens to self-defense with guns while carving out convenient exceptions for themselves.Click here to continue reading...
Two new examples of this hypocrisy are in the news today.

And when will there be justice for the accessories to murder in our government????

Income redistribution to go global?
Income redistribution, unfortunately, has received new life after the total demise of its adherents in the Communist world. With the demise of the Soviet Union and its grip on Eastern Europe, Marxism was exposed as a fraud -- a Utopian ideal that is not based on the real world and is thus doomed for failure at the outset.Click here to read it all.
Today, however, the notion that what I earn is not mine but belongs to government, which then takes it and doles it out the way they see fit, is seeing a renaissance.

New study debunks common myths on mass shootings
According to a new crime study published by a criminology professor at Northwestern University, most of the commonly accepted talking points on mass shootings are false.Click here to read it all.
One of the most common of the myths, the notion that mass shootings are on the rise and thus drastic action needs to be taken to stop them, is a narrative created in the minds of anti-gun enthusiasts and mainstream media hacks who have a hidden agenda to disarm the public.

Tyrants who are saying nothing tip their hand
The thing is, though, much to the horror of the tyrants, many "anybody elses" are already involved in the resistance in various and sundry ways. Their worst fear, thus, has already come upon them. While not all may be smuggling or sending magazines into states where they are forbidden, in their own way and using their own skill set they are thwarting the march of the tyrants in this country. And the more the tyrants double down on their plans and tactics, the more widespread and vehement the resistance.Click here to read the whole thing...
Do not underestimate the resolve and the resilience of a patriot who is determined to secure God-given rights and to protect those rights.
"So, Mr. Martin, why do you write so often about guns and gun rights? What's with the guns?"
When I launched The Liberty Sphere in 2006 I had intended to write about a variety of issues from a conservative/libertarian perspective. I have stayed with that objective.
I write about politics, the Bill of Rights, free speech, free religion, free assembly, and a free press, along with commentary on the modern culture. I have done all of that and still do it, as you will note in my various posts on Gospel music, the Philadelphia Orchestra, conductor Eugene Ormandy, and such.
But I also stated at the outset I would write about guns and gun rights issues.
A reader took issue with the fact that I put so much emphasis on guns. She wanted to know why I do it. Of course, she is a gun control freak, not a rabid one, but enough of one to be considered on the other side of the issue. And she takes offense at my musings on the subject.
So here is my answer.
I am more convinced than ever that if we are to protect our rights as delineated in the Bill of Rights from the growing government tyranny, then gun rights are key. The Founders discovered that they had to have their firearms to shake off the grip of the oppressive British Empire and it's King.
Much discussion has ensued through the years about which was the first right to be embraced by the Founders. One would be hard pressed to prove that it was anything other than gun rights. It was the guns that secured for them all of the other rights.
This, then, is why you will find so much about guns here and in my Examiner columns. Collectivists in high offices throughout the land have launched a coordinated effort to roll back, then register, and then confiscate the guns of the citizens. They know that this is the key to their success...and the key to our demise.
As long as we, the citizens, have over 200 million guns at our ready disposal, it is downright dangerous for collectivists in our own government to subdue us, forcing us into submission to an ideology and lifestyle we deplore. Thus, the collectivist must first get rid of the guns, just as they always have in places where they have been successful -- Nazi Germany, Communist Russia, Communist China, Communist Cuba, etc, etc.
Not only that, but the collectivist believes that government and its oppressive arm, the military and law enforcement, should have a monopoly on firearms. This is another convenient way for them to force us into submission. If they have confiscated our guns and then send the regime military and law enforcement to force us into submission at the barrel end of a gun, then how on earth are we going to resist without being killed on the spot?
At least with our guns we would have a fighting chance. And more than likely we would have the upper hand because the Leviathans have no idea who or how many of us have guns, or how many guns we have, and they have no idea how many of us would actually go to war with them to protect the rights that are supposed to be protected in the Bill of Rights in the Constitution.
This uncertainty is exactly what we want. This is precisely where we want them -- so uncertain about the outcome of any government tyranny that they will hesitate about attacking us, and then so uncertain that they will conclude that attacking us is too great a risk to undertake.
Unfortunately for the Jews of Eastern Europe prior to WW II, Hitler was able to round them up, put them in cattle cars on trains, and transport them directly to their deaths precisely because he had already disarmed them.
Had the Jews kept their firearms and been willing to use them against murderous thugs of their own government, then perhaps the death camps could have been avoided.
This is a valuable lesson for us today.

Thanks, gentlemen
Just a personal word to highlight some friends of note. Over the past few weeks some highly respected and trusted friends of mine have cited articles I have written, passing them along to their readers.
So, a special thanks goes to Pete, David, Kurt, and Mike...and others who are not as well known but are valuable in what they have to say nonetheless.
I have never been a "well known personality" in my endeavors. I am not a "star." Never have been and never will be. The things I have done in life have been largely unnoticed like most people, as my focus has been on the servant role. My calling in life has been to go to places that need a helpful presence, a symbol of hope in a hopeless world. Sometimes this meant being pastor of a church. Sometimes this meant being the musical director for a church. And sometimes this meant an even more specialized focus on forgotten persons in society who often fall through the cracks and get devoured by the vast bottomless pit of despair, darkness, and death.
Christian ministry is not glamorous like it is portrayed on TV as embodied by the big "mega-church" pastors. For the most part I have worked down in the trenches of chaplaincy -- healthcare ministry specifically. And while I have provided specialized ministry to a wide variety of types of patients, my training focused primarily on the subcategory of mental health patients and persons with addictions.
Within this sector of Christian ministry you neither want nor seek recognition.
The move I made away from Christian healthcare to where I am now is a long story that is simply too complicated to recount in any depth. Suffice it to say that I now find myself in a position to write about things I care very deeply about. I have been involved in politics in some way all of my life, mainly behind the scenes. At this stage of life I had an opportunity to carry my thoughts to a broader audience.
And, in order to get your stuff read, you have to promote it. It helps tremendously if others think that what you have to say is important enough for them to promote it too.
This is why my deepest gratitude goes to all of those who have brought attention to these pages and to my articles at The Examiner. Not only is it comforting to know that people will take it upon themselves to do this but that should a massive societal implosion take place I have some friends that I would be honored to stand beside in the fight.
God bless you one and all. And thanks again.

Doctors fight back against new role as gun control arbiters
But many doctors are fighting back. They don't want to be gun control arbiters. They do not see such a thing as being part of their role as medical care providers. And even if they were forced into such a role, they see themselves as ill-equipped to make such decisions.Click here to read it all.
Can an honorable patriot come to the defense of a political opponent? I hope so.
Chris Christie finds himself in deep water over a political scandal in New Jersey. I have said very little about it because I am no Chris Christie supporter, and I find his views to be detestable on several fronts.
But as the hours have passed I find myself compelled to at least say something about the current squabble.
Unless I am a complete and utter failure at judging human character, I find Christie's words about the scandal to be believable. I watched most of the 2 hour news conference he conducted yesterday. He was open, forthcoming, and direct. There was congruence between his words and body language/facial expressions. He did not seem nervous whatsoever. He did not engage in evasive tactics.
Now, I have seen charlatans fool a lot of people. Some of these individuals are so good at what they do (deception) that they can appear to be honest while at the same time lying through their teeth.
I am not suggesting that I cannot be fooled. I have been fooled many times. But each time I think I have learned something.
In this case, I believe Christie is telling the truth that he knew nothing about the charge that he conducted political retribution against a local mayor in N.J. He fired two of his closest advisers because they lied to him about the scandal. A governor is informed only to the degree that he is served well by his advisers.
Obviously these advisers did not served him well at all.
So, I think the media, the pundits, the political establishment, etc. should give the man a break. If he is lying it is bound to come out sooner or later. But as of now, there is nothing that would suggest Christie is engaging in deception.
This in no way means that I support Christie for national office. My ideological/philosophical/political views are very different from that of Christie, for the most part. I would never vote for him for president, for example. But neither do I believe that it is honorable or civil to support the piling on by people with an ulterior motive for political gain. Even a political opponent is capable of conducting his/her life with integrity.

Off the record: Ordinary citizens express strong opinions
Beneath the radar screen of the mainstream media and even the alternative media, ordinary citizens who are never asked or consulted about public policy and new laws have very strong opinions concerning these issues nonetheless.Click here to read it all.
Recently several of these citizens told National Conservative Examiner that it is as if their opinions do not matter, that their views are unimportant, and that the movers and shakers in Washington increasingly see them as nothing more than a roadblock to a malevolent agenda for the nation.

He is now under arrest for a "gun crime" and is considered a criminal, although he has no criminal history.
Kurt Hofmann reports that "the Bastard" is giving up on gun control but such statements are to be taken with a grain of salt, given Bloomberg's history.
Days of our Trailers takes issue with a person who claims that an AK-47 is not good for home defense.
Alphecca has the absolute must-read of the week. Do yourself a favor, and read it all.
Traction Control shows off a bunch of cool new additions to his gun inventory...as of today.

Pamela Geller informs us that her blog, Atlas Shrugs, is moving to a new home: pamelageller.com.
Back from the off the grid wilderness
Ok, I'm back from my unexpected break from the world of algore's Internets.
It's amazing as to how much you can find out by just spending time with people under the radar.
More about that perhaps today.
In the meantime, "gird your loins" as the Bible says and get ready. I see 2014 as a very rocky year on many fronts. I know we all hear news reports each day now that indicate more people are getting jobs, a recovery is not only underway but beginning to accelerate, and things are looking better.
My assessment? It's all smoke and mirrors. There are too many things the government can do to skew such numbers. They don't count people who have given up in despair trying to find a job. They don't count inflation in food prices, over the counter medication prices, or gasoline prices. All of this is very convenient for Leviathan con artists in both Parties.
But what I hear concerning the rocky road ahead involves growing danger from al Qaeda, despite Obama's repeated assertions that he had all but obliterated the organization. Funny how that terrorist group that no longer exists re-took the city of Fallujah in Iraq.
The Middle East is a powderkeg waiting to blow up at any time. Hillary and Obama created such a mess in the region that World War III could well be sparked at any time.
And then there are growing threats from China and Russia who sense America's weakness and our vacuum in adequate leadership at the top. All of this is not to mention that growing threat from right here in the homeland from tyrants who want to disarm us, take away our freedom to choose our own doctor, what we eat, what we drive, etc, etc.
As bad as the employment/economy status is, those things pale in comparison to the grave dangers from tyrants in our own government who wish to roll back the unalienable rights of the people.
Eternal vigilance is more necessary than ever.

Tied up
Hey, folks. Just a brief update here.
I've been tied up off the grid today, and thus, there has been little time to do any significant writing. I hate it when that happens, but such is life.
So, here's what you can do to help. Read my latest Examiner articles linked below, and pass them along to someone who may not have read them. We MUST make sure our acquaintances, friends, and family are fully informed about what we face as a nation.
If I get a chance to post tonight, I will do so. And thanks for all you do in reading and promoting these articles.
Obamacare already targets gun owners
Breaking updates on citizen defiance and gun smuggling
With most of the nation in deep freeze, remember 'global warming'
Academic journal 'demolishes' gun control myths
Well, there they are. I hope someone who hasn't been in the loop on these issues will benefit from them.

Obamacare already targets gun owners
With each passing month Americans are discovering to their dismay just what Nancy Pelosi meant when she famously stated in 2009 concerning Obamacare, "We have to pass the bill to find out what's in the bill."Click here to read it all...
To their sheer horror, Americans are finding out that one of the provisions of Obamacare is to closely question them about gun ownership when they show up at a medical facility or sign up for an Obamacare exchange, or register for Medicaid or Medicare.
