Musings After Midnight--"I Shall Not Be Moved:" the bold declaration of patriots who have no intention of obeying unconstitutional laws

Good evening, Patriots.

Welcome to another evening of hot tea, coffee, scones, "biscuits" as the British call them, fire in the fireplace, good company, and interesting political chat.

It's been cold here of late, along with some snow and ice. And, I understand that tomorrow the weather will warm up as a front moves through bringing the potential of severe weather, thunderstorms, and even tornadoes in some areas. Once we get past tomorrow, it's back to the cold temps according to the prognosticators.

So, everyone be careful out there.

But as for tonight, let's just enjoy ourselves with some good refreshments, that is, enjoy ourselves as much as a conscientious patriot can under the present conditions.

For sure, there is much to be highly disturbed about. And although I would be the last to encourage someone not to be disturbed, I do believe that such concern can be funneled into beneficial action. For me, that means writing and phone calls. For you it may mean protests. For others it may mean training for the day when self-defense is not an option but an absolute necessity if one wishes to live.

Some of you, I am quite sure, are physically able to push yourselves to the limit in order to whip your body into excellent condition for the days ahead when we will surely need it. I am a bit limited in that regard, but there is still much I can do.

Further, an integral part of that training is the training of the mind. This is one of the reasons why we read the words of those who can articulate what we face and the actions that are needed to correct the present calamity with which we are confronted in the country. We need to THINK, to reason, and to do so logically.

The public school system has largely failed to teach people how to think. We have been taught facts and figures, which is beneficial in itself to a degree. But we need to learn logic, the ability to think through a problem, a crisis, an obstacle with a clear-headed knowledge of the steps one must take to fully understand and comprehend the nature of the problem and to come up with suitable solutions that are appropriate for the circumstance.

The fact that most Americans cannot do this is shown most fully of late in the irrational "solutions" that are offered to the problem of "gun violence." None of the solutions address the problem. Most citizens simply go off half-cocked, mouthing stupidity such as "we have to get rid of all the guns," when in fact, 99.9 percent of gun owners never break the law.

And it doesn't seem to matter to most citizens that the shooter at Sandy Hook Elementary was stopped from gaining access to guns by the laws already on the books. Had his mother exercised prudence in a house where there is a certifiable lunatic present and locked up her guns, then he probably would have never gotten hold of those weapons.

Further, the guns that the politicians want to ban were not used in the Sandy Hook shooting. But does that matter? Apparently not. It just "sounds good" to the dumbed down masses who were never taught how to think.

So, what are we to do in a society that seems to be increasingly overwhelmed by individuals who cannot think straight but who vote nonetheless, much to the alarm of those of us who suddenly realized in 2008 that the majority of voters today are bordering on the moronic.

My last entry in the Musings After Midnight series set forth at least some of the things we can do. That post was designed to draw the line in the sand, to let the powers that be in government know what we will NOT do, no matter what laws they pass.

Tonight's edition, however, takes that initial manifesto a step further.

America has a rich tradition of patriots who refuse to obey illegitimate laws. Contrary to the views of many who believe that such a thing is unpatriotic, or criminal, or subversive, this nation was born out of civil disobedience.

The early patriots had no intention of continuing to be taxed by a tyrannical king in England. They expressed their rage in the original tea party -- known as the Boston Tea Party.

But it went far beyond that. The tipping point came when the British crown attempted to strip patriots in America of their firearms.

Don't even say it. I know what you are thinking. You never heard that in school. Neither did I. But that does not mean it is not a vitally important factor in the run up to the Revolutionary War of 1776. That war was about independence from Britain, for sure. But a big part of that demand for independence was the issue of gun rights. The patriots had no intention of allowing the British crown to deprive them of their guns. But your government-run public school system today failed to teach that fact to multimillions of students.

In short, the citizens of this nation have a rich history of telling government what they will and will not tolerate, and NOT the other way around! And if government fails to listen to the patriots, the patriots have ways of making their point, sometimes in a stunningly swift and unequivocal fashion.

An old Gospel song puts this attitude in perfect fashion: "I Shall Not Be Moved."

When patriots are confronted by tyrannical laws passed by tyrannical government officials, their voices rise in one unified chorus, "We shall not be moved! We shall not comply! Try to make us submit! You will be very sorry!"

I shall not be moved. This is the rallying cry, the bold declaration of citizens who have no intention of obeying unconstitutional laws.

Now, I am well aware that progressives/leftists/lunatics (these terms are interchangeable you know) will always point to the fact that "only the courts can determine what is constitutional or not."

Well, yes and no. Under normal conditions, when government officials are serious about the original intent of the Constitution as envisioned by the Framers, then yes, we can affirm the power of the courts to make that determination. But what about a scenario where the courts no longer care what the Framers intended?

We are at that point today.

Half of the rulings that proceed from the courts, including the black robbed scoundrels of the Supreme Court, are a direct affront to original intent. It is as if they say when they issue their decisions, "The Framers be damned!"

Think about it. The court in 1973 gave women the right to commit murder with complete immunity in Roe v. Wade. The court has trampled on the property rights of citizens in the name of various asinine motivations, such as protecting blind, microscopic bugs that are endangered and have been found on your property. And this is not to mention the misuse and abuse of the eminent domain clause.

Plus, you all know what I think of Roberts' ruling in the ObamaCare case. He joined with the tyrant liberals on the court to create law out of thin air and made himself to look like a clown, a court jester, in doing so. I'm sure Ringling Brothers would be glad to give him a contract.

The courts are now rogue courts. Congress is now a rogue Congress. And you really don't want me to say what I really think about the presidency at this particular time.

Jefferson, Madison, and others made it abundantly clear what citizens are to do in the face of such tyranny. We disobey it! Their reasoning was that when government strays from the foundational concepts upon which the Constitution is based, that government automatically loses the moral authority to govern and is therefore not fit to be obeyed. In fact, the citizens at that point have a moral, ethical, and philosophical duty to defy that government.

And of course, most of you are fully aware of Jefferson's reset button. When all other tactics of civil disobedience fail, the only remedy is war. At that point the citizens must take matters into their own hands to remove the tyrants from office by force and replace them with those who actually believe in the American form of government as set by the Constitution.

Are we at that point now? Are we now at the tipping point where this government is so lawless and reckless that Jefferson's reset button must be pushed?

To be frank, I don't know. Such a question is hard to answer. But I will be quick to say that if we are not already there, we are getting very close.

The winds of war are sweeping across America, and I don't mean that which involves China, or North Korea, or Iran. I mean war right here on our own soil between our own citizens. Unless the minions of the anti-constitutional movement back off their radical agenda, war is inevitable, and it is just around the corner.

My hope and prayer is that we can get this stuff stopped by merely engaging in a massive display of disobedience. We will never give up our guns under any circumstance. We will never register our guns. So, that means that government will never know who has them or where they are located. If we have to, we will go underground just like many of our forebears did when the government decided that citizens were forbidden from selling or consuming alcohol during Prohibition.

Prohibition turned out to be one of the best things to happen to the liquor business and bars. Speak-easies were in abundance, and the alcohol flowed, in secret of course, as never before.

Why would the jackbooted government thugs think that we will do any different if they ban guns?

Let me make it abundantly clear to you, if you happen to be a dirty rotten "progressive" or a government thug: IF YOU HAVE A BRAIN IN YOUR HEAD THEN LET PROHIBITION BE A LESSON TO YOU!!!

We will create the biggest black market in the history of the world if you march forward with gun bans and other controls. Mark it down. The citizens did it during the early part of the 20th century during Prohibition, and we will do it again. You can only get away with forcing citizens to do so much in a free society. Sooner or later you will use up all your good graces and lose the cooperation of citizens. It is then that we will show you who is really boss in this country. HINT: It ain't you! WE THE PEOPLE are YOUR boss!

This principle of "I shall not be moved" can be applied to a myriad of issues. When it comes to ObamaCare, just refuse to cooperate. Refuse to join a state exchange. Force them to "fine you," and then refuse to pay it. Of course, you may be charged with something, and you have to decide if you wish to suffer the consequences. But you always have the option of simply refusing to cooperate with tyrannical government. The various states are already doing it. 30 states are now on record saying they will refuse to create the healthcare exchanges that ObamaCare mandates.

The same thing goes for encroachments on free speech. Just say it! Say what you think is right. Say it loud and clear!

Now, this does not mean you are to take leave of your intelligence. You have to use your head. You don't want to yell "fire" in a crowded theater, because if a stampede ensues and people are injured or killed, you will be charged with a crime, and rightly so. Similarly, you don't want to get on a crowded airplane and announce that you have a bomb, and then say, "Only joking!" Such a "joke" will  get you arrested and charged with a crime. That kind of behavior is plain stupid...almost as stupid as jokingly threatening the life of an elected official, or anyone else for that matter.

Free speech does not grant people the right to cause harm to others. That is understood and should go without saying. This is not the same thing as what progressives often refer to as "reasonable restrictions." It is assumed that free speech will be exercised with common sense. Common sense does not "restrict" free speech but enhances it. You are free to say whatever you want as long as you are not attempting to perpetuate criminal activity.

Thus, yelling "fire" in a crowded theater is NOT a free speech issue. It is a criminal issue because, should someone get injured or killed due to your idiocy, you will be arrested and charged with a crime. Threatening to kill me or my family is also not a free speech issue but a criminal issue. These important distinctions in the law are of vast importance. So do not let the lunatics, I mean, progressives, tell you these things are free speech issues. They are NOT.

Thus, when the leviathans claim that "since we place reasonable restrictions of free speech, then surely we can do so on gun rights," they raise a false premise, a red herring. We do not place "reasonable restrictions" on free speech. Criminal behavior does not qualify as free speech. Our laws are designed only to prevent and punish criminal behavior.

Granted, through the years we have been sliding down the slippery slope of crossing the line on free speech. The politically correct movement is one of the main culprits, and many have succumbed to the inherent encroachments on their free speech for the fear of being vilified by the speech police. And since 9/11, I will admit that we have allowed further incursions on our free speech that has tended to have a muzzling effect.

I admit I don't like these provisions. The attitude of our Framers was, "I may not like what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

My, how far we have fallen away from those lofty ideals.

Thus, if we treated free speech in the same manner some wish to treat gun rights, we would forbid all citizens from speaking at all so that we could prevent one person from saying something that harms another. Rather than deal with people who cross the line, i.e. criminals, the progressives would punish the entire society.

This is the philosophy of Nazis, Fascists, Marxists, Communists, and other totalitarians. It is dangerous. And it must not be allowed.

When faced with these politically correct mandates, the conscientious patriot must speak up and say what is forbidden. For example, Muslims often say that Jews and Christians are nothing more than fleas and roaches. Fair enough, if that is what you feel. But I can also tell YOU that you are a bloodthirsty barbarian.

I can also say loud and clear that Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, and others like them are race-baiting demagogues, charlatans who are out to do nothing but stir up racial hatred to make a quick buck. Some black people would call me racist for saying such things. Well, if you think that, you have been drinking the kool-aid. You have been brainwashed, and thus, Jackson, Sharpton, and Farrakhan have done their job. And that only proves my point.

When it gets to the point to where any disagreement with a black president is racist, we know we have reached a tipping point and that it is time to fight back without fear. We must be bold in calling out those who say such things.

And this brings me to my final point concerning the concept of civil disobedience and holding firm to Constitutional principles in the face of tyrannical government. Conservatives are going to have to get over this notion that we have to be "nice and respectful" to those who wish to rob us of our rights. Why should I be obligated to be nice to such people?

These people are trying to remove your very freedoms from you, and you think you have to be "nice?" NO!

I am under no obligation to be respectful toward an individual or group of individuals who believe that my right to free speech should be muzzled, that I must be deprived of my guns, that my property is not actually my property at all but that  it ultimately belongs to the "benevolent, all-seeing federal government," or that my religious freedom is subservient to a bunch of Middle Eastern barbarians who believe I should be forced to live under Shariah Law!

No!

I will not be "nice" to such persons.

This is a fight for the very heart and soul of our country and the very survival of our Constitution and Bill of Rights! We are not going to succeed in preserving and restoring them by being "nice." These people have to be told that we're onto them, they are not fooling anyone, and we will fight them tooth and nail to the bitter end.

In many ways, it is to our advantage that the vermin are now coming out from under the dark shadows of the woodwork into the light of day and admitting they wish to abolish the Constitution altogether, as a Georgetown University professor told Charles Osgood on CBS "Sunday Morning" last Sunday. We now know who the enemies are.

And the sooner conservatives realize that unless we get gritty and fight like our lives depend on it, all it will take is less than four more years to totally destroy this nation. Totally. Yes, my friend, we are that close to losing it all. And once it is gone, we will plunge into what Reagan called "a thousand years of darkness."

I, for one, am not willing to let that happen. To my dying breath, I will fight to prevent it from happening.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Nicki tells the ugly truth that we need to get fixed in our heads, "You are the enemy."

Standing By declares that "gun control won't stop gang violence."

Brigid shares some interesting history worth reading on the Springfield Armory 1911. Most handgun enthusiasts insist that the 1911 is the absolute best pistol ever made. And it has changed very little if any in the past 100 years.

Days of our Trailers has a pointed message for the gun control politicians in Washington--what's good for the goose is good for the gander!

Alphecca reports that the father of one of the slain children at Sandy Hook articulates some clear headed thinking on guns. You won't hear this reported in the MSM.

Roberta X sounds the alarm on an NRA-backed "compromise" that some in the GOP support concerning private gun sales. Yes, it IS time for alarm. Time to pressure the NRA and the GOP leadership!

Blonde Sagacity calls our attention to something she calls "bullskeet." LOL!

The Wandering Minstrel pictures notorious gun-grabbers Dianne Feinstein and Carolyn McCarthy dressed up in a jackass suit trying to tweak something they know nothing about.

Karl Denninger provides great reading revolving around the theme, Obama still doesn't get it on the Second Amendment.

Traction Control comments on the ensuing "drone war." Read it all.

Gun ban attempt reveals broader agenda

The current raging dispute in America between citizens who believe in and cherish the constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms and those who wish to ban guns has revealed a much broader agenda that gun control activists have kept muffled if not entirely hidden.

Conservatives have suspected this broader agenda for several decades. But now, those who consider themselves progressive, which is a misnomer due to the regressive nature of their core principles, are not only no longer attempting to hide their real agenda but are openly claiming it.

Pamela Geller alerts us to the fact that Barack Obama has declared Jihad on American gun owners while arming Jihadists all over the world.

Stand Up America reports late breaking news, confirmed by Israeli intel, that a major blast has been recorded at an Iranian nuclear facility.

Lies and elitism plague gun control proponents

Although it is highly premature for gun rights advocates to celebrate the fact that Barack Obama's initiative for gun bans has hit a significant snag in Congress, the proponents of the bans are plagued by lies and elitism that has hurt their cause.

Perhaps the biggest untruth being perpetrated by Obama, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Rep. Steny Hoyer, the mainstream media, and others who are pushing severe restrictions on the Second Amendment is that they "are not seeking to take guns away from citizens."

The goal, so they say, is to ban "military grade assault weapons."

The statement is flagrantly false...

Conservatives offer clear-headed, rational solutions to 'gun violence'

A most curious phenomenon has developed in modern society that requires the suspension of rationality and logic. The problem is not so much that at the core of the phenomenon is muddle headed thinking but that so many Americans do not immediately recognize the inherent incoherence that such thinking entails.

For example, modern Americans tend to blame society's ills, and their own, on everything but the right thing. Criminals steal not because they are social deviants but because they grew up in poverty. Racism, bigotry, and hatred toward our fellow man is not due to the evil that lurks in men's hearts and in the world but due to politically incorrect terminology that leads the emotionally weak to unleash their verbal venom.

If only society could mandate that certain words not be used, then perhaps society could totally eradicate from men's minds the tendency to caricature and vilify people who are not like they are.

Illegal gov't destruction of used ammo alarms gun owners

More evidence surfaced today indicating that the Obama administration is breaking  the law and defying official government policy by ordering the destruction of expended brass at military installations. The brass is often used by gun owners to make their own ammunition.

Gun rights enthusiasts often make their own ammunition in a process known as "reloading," the practice of taking the brass from once-fired used bullets to make homemade ammo.

Gun ban proponents provoke possible civil war

Within the last two weeks the forces of the progressive, ultra-liberal cabal have managed to amass a coordinated front to attack and render null and void the gun rights of average citizens as protected by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Gun rights enthusiasts say that such actions will provoke civil war.

Today, these forces appear to be simultaneously unleashing their attack on all fronts, from attempting to prevent citizens from gaining access to brass for the purpose of making their own ammunition to the push by leftwing extremists to bully banks into refusing to give loans to gun manufacturers, effectively putting them out of business.

The 2A News Roundup--Top Ten for Thurs., Jan. 24, 2013

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Mike Vanderboegh provides a wealth of information on the Feinstein gun ban bill and several other issues at Sipsey Street today. Just go over there and start scrolling. All of it is vital information.

Kurt Hofmann reports the explosive story that a Missouri senator wants to "shame" gun owners. You gotta see this. Be prepared to get fighting mad.

David Codrea outs the leftwing nutcase gun-grabbers as hypocrites, which we have always known they are. They are using religion to push gun control...you know, the very ones who have been screaming "SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE" for the past four decades? What vermin.

WRSA posts a must-read along with a plethora of links showing the dangerous mind games of leftwing collectivists.

From Way Up North: "Gun-Stealing Devil" (Video).

Tam has "The Doctor Gun." Read it. Good info.

Standing By shares a sobering analysis that explains why he has not been posting of late.

CLO provides the quote of the decade. Read it all. VITAL reading!

Days of our Trailers says that a bout with tonsillitis led a woman to the ranks of the gun rights advocates.

Pamela Geller reports the horrific news that Indonesia's largest Muslim group has proclaimed that female genital mutilation is a "human right." It is stuff like THIS that always confirms my belief that the Muslim religion, while listing some "moderates" within its ranks, is largely a barbaric, bloodthirsty religion that is repulsive to most thinking people, except, of course, for the liberals who support them.

Hillary fails Benghazi fact check

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared before both the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Wednesday to provide her long-awaited testimony concerning the massacre in Benghazi, Libya at the U.S. consulate complex.

Clinton's testimony, however, failed to pass any rational fact check on what is now known about the massacre. Her statements left many more unanswered questions and few answers. And the answers she provided do not square with the facts or with previous testimony provided by a myriad of Obama administration officials.

The most glaring of the discrepancies in Clinton's testimony revolve around whether or not the administration monitored the events as they unfolded in Benghazi in real time. Clinton stated unequivocally that there was no real time monitor of events...

Some Republicans waffle on private gun sales

In spite of the fact that the Sandy Hook shooter did not violate any current firearms laws or use loopholes in those laws to gain access to guns, Democrats have focused on gun bans, universal registration of firearms and ammunition, and other gun control measures that include universal criminal background checks.

None of the current proposals would have prevented the shooter from perpetrating his horrific crimes. Current law worked in preventing him from purchasing guns, and had his mother kept her firearms properly secured in the home, he would not have gained access to them, either.

Yet Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats forged ahead with the most sweeping and restrictive gun control proposals in the history of the Republic...

The 2A News Roundup--Top Ten for Tues., Jan. 22, 2013

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Conservative Nexus has a YouTube video and audio of a Congressman who has renewed his call for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign. The link is at the very top of the page.

The Twisters offer commentary on a very important and neglected subject in the ongoing culture war in America. We welcome The Twisters to The Liberty Sphere! You will find them listed under the "Websites" heading on the left column.

Pamela Geller notes that Hillary will testify before Congress tomorrow on Benghazi-gate. Note her hard-hitting commentary, not the least of which is the charge (which is true, by the way) that Hillary is a bare-faced liar.

Alphecca posts some excellent news out of Vermont. The proposed ban on "assault weapons" has been killed.

The Wandering Minstrel shows us his offering of defiance of any new anti-gun laws. Take a look.

Traction Control, who operates a federally licensed firearms and ammo business, available online, shares a list of what ammo is still available and what is not. Remember, there is a run on guns and ammo. The result is shortages and back orders.

Nicki says she has been lobbying the Virginia legislature in favor of gun rights. Good!

Roberta X posts some thought-provoking musings about the Capitol Dome and slavery.

Days of our Trailers reports on a mega-fail of an anti-gun rally. It's in two parts.

Kurt Hofmann correctly observes that the NRA is highly unlikely to strongly fight the proposed ban on private gun sales unless they are pushed to do so by their members. So, GET BUSY!!

Sheriffs warn Obama of deadly war over guns

Today's National Conservative Examiner takes a look at the news of a major Sheriff's Association that is warning Obama of a deadly war if he and Congress proceed with their plans to pass and enforce new gun registration, bans, and firearms control measures.

The latest shot across the bow is a growing trend.

And I also point out that the Obama Administration and big Leftists in the northeast have been attempting to strip county sheriffs of their authority. Wonder why?

The 2A News Roundup--Top Ten for Mon., Jan. 21, 2013

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Mike Vanderboegh reports that Massachusetts is next in proposing draconian restrictions on the Second Amendment.

Kurt Hofmann says that a Congressman wants a ban on Internet high capacity magazine plans.

Brigid has a report on the Indy 1500 gun show.

The War on Guns alerts us to the fact that in Ohio apparently you can be arrested for declaring you will physically defend your home and property. My, what a despicable totalitarian little banana republic we're becoming. Can you image what our Founders said to anyone who threatened to take their property?

WRSA posts the latest from Matt Bracken on what the state of New York has done to average citizens who own guns.

Karl Denninger notes that as citizens begin to report tax increases that are shown in their lower pay checks, the woes are just beginning. Premium increases due to Obamacare are about to hit in dramatic fashion.

Way Up North shares the story of a bank that was robbed with a hammer. QUICK! Let's ban them!

Tam has a snarky response or two to the mainstream media's perpetual...uh...well, erection over the Messiah and his 2nd coronation today.

CLO maintains that apparently leftists see an asterisk after the words "shall not be infringed" in the Second Amendment. But there is none. Could they be psychotic? You know, optical hallucinations is a sign of psychosis, meaning of course that liberals really are mentally ill.

David Codrea offers an important read on the New York magazine ban.

N.Y. gun owners vow to defy new gun laws

Enraged by what they view as a direct assault on their Constitutional rights by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., and the Democrat-controlled state legislature, gun owners across New York State vow to defy the new state-wide gun bans, registration, and gun control laws in a massive demonstration of civil disobedience.

According to the New York Post, organizers of the resistance movement estimate that tens of thousands of citizens will join the move to defy the new laws. At least one million New Yorkers own so-called "assault weapons," which are actually nothing more than semiautomatic guns that use large capacity magazines.

Military style weapons such as machine guns are already illegal in every state, a fact which belies the standard line of anti-gun advocates who erroneously claim that they only want to make illegal the military style weapons and machine guns.

N.Y. Republican releases secret list of Democrat gun control plans

A Republican Assemblyman of the state of New York released a secret list of Democrat proposals designed to severely undermine the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

In the wake of the Newtown, Conn. massacre, the state of New York passed the most restrictive and controversial gun bans and gun control laws in the nation. Unfortunately, most Republicans in the legislature went along with the Democrats in approving the measures that undermine the Second Amendment, which itself states that it "shall not be infringed."

Yet, in spite of the highly restrictive nature of the new laws, a N.Y. legislator says that a secret list of measures proposed by state Democrats would have gone much further if the Democrats had gotten their way.

Author asks Obama an eye opening question on guns

Award winning blogger and author T.L. Davis, author of the book, "The Constitutionalist," has posed an eye-opening question for Barack Obama in an open letter written directly to the president.

Davis, who is a Constitution advocate and a staunch gun rights supporter, confirms that if Obama succeeds in getting Congress and many of the states to pass stringent gun bans and gun control laws there will be historic blowback from the citizens. These citizens are willing to fight to the death to prevent the current march toward government tyranny that is reminiscent of Hitler's scourge in Germany and Stalin's bloodbath against Russian citizens in the years after the Communist revolution.

Leftwing, "progressive" statists have predictably gone off the deep end in the wake of these responses to their tyranny, asking the now well-known question, "How many are you willing to kill to retain your right to firearms?"

2013

2013.

Read it here.

Thank-you!

3 armed thugs invade your home, but you can only fire 7 rounds

Home invasions are a gargantuan problem in modern America. More often than not, these incidents involve more than one person, usually two or three who are probably masked and carrying semiautomatic weapons (incorrectly called "assault weapons) that are capable of firing multiple rounds. Seven rounds would be a minimum for each gun, but most are set up to hold much more than that, 15 to 30 bullets each.

Each of the perpetrators is more than likely carrying more than one weapon -- probably a semiautomatic rifle and a semiautomatic handgun. In short, if they get into your home they will overwhelm you with firepower.

The 2A News Roundup--Top Ten for Thurs., Jan. 17, 2013

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Mike Vanderboegh gives us a run down of what political analysts are saying about Obama's gun proposals and their chances of being approved.

Kurt Hofmann says that while the slippery slope of gun control is very real, it is not the real issue.

David Codrea is having Internet problems, and that is the reason you won't find any of his latest articles on Examiner nor new posts at The War on Guns. Hold off comments and emails until he gives us the signal.

WRSA has a most interesting graphic on "child abuse." Be sure to follow the links as well.

Brigid posts good reading on survival.

Tam provides an exchange concerning the use of children as props and the inherent hypocrisy of politicians like Obama.

Way Up North recounts the various reasons why carrying a gun is standard fare for Alaskans, each time they leave the house.

CLO declares that Obama has dramatically overshot.

Alphecca notes that in Biden's final report on "gun violence," the ultra-violent Hollywood was curiously left off the hook. Not surprising given that most of the ultra-rich, ultra-violent Hollywood stars and film makers give loads of money to liberals such as Obama and Billy and Hillary Clinton.

Stand Up America posts an excellent must-read titled, "If They Come For Your Guns..."

Majority of Americans vote with gun purchases against Obama plan

Outside of extremist leftwing areas such as New York, California, Illinois, and New England, the majority of Americans are voting with their gun purchases against the Obama agenda to enact gun bans and sweeping gun and ammunition control.

According to countless gun store owners across the country, guns and ammo are flying off the shelves as never before, resulting in shortages, back orders, and bare shelves.

And what, exactly, are Americans buying at gun stores? They are buying the very firearms Obama wishes to ban -- semiautomatic weapons with large capacity magazines.

House Dems launch effort to push Obama gun bans

House Democrats wasted no time in launching into a coordinated effort to push the Obama gun bans and other firearms restrictions. Although the Democrats made no specific proposals, they rolled out emotionally-charged sob stories that supposedly justify robbing law abiding citizens of their Constitutional rights in order to supposedly address the actions of lawless criminals.

It is clear, however, that House Democrats have every intention of attempting to implement the Obama gun control agenda, which includes bans on semiautomatic guns, large capacity magazines, background checks for ammunition purchases, and a national database of all who purchase guns.

Some political analysts have suggested that the chances of these initiatives passing in a Republican controlled House are next to nil. But with John Boehner as Speaker, can this be considered a reasonable conclusion?

Is CBS News' Bob Schieffer 'losing it?'

CBS News' veteran reporter and anchor Bob Schieffer made some statements on the air Wednesday that raise questions about the newsman's mental capacity. Schieffer likened the pro-gun lobby to Nazis and stated that Obama's fight against gun rights groups is like defeating the Nazis or getting bin Laden.

Such over the top comments have led some conservatives to wonder if Schieffer is losing it.

Obama use of children as props mirrors Hitler, Stalin

On Wednesday Barack Obama used children as props in order to attempt to pull on the heartstrings of the public, snookering them into supporting his proposals for gun bans and a national database of all gun owners. Supposedly the message in the photo-op is that no matter how egregious the attack on the rights of the people, as long as it is done "for the children" any act of government tyranny is justified.

Regarding Obama's disgraceful use of children in a debate about guns, it is to be noted that notorious dictators such as Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Fidel Castro all used children as props. And each first registered all gun owners prior to a systematic program of gun confiscation, leading to the Holocaust that killed 7 million Jews and 5 million political dissidents, and to the scourge Stalin conducted in the Soviet Union that resulted in the murders of 27 million Russians.

Progressives have often denounced comparing Obama to Hitler and Stalin. But the comparisons are stark and obvious, not only in his use of children as propaganda tools but attempting to make law by executive order.

Obama makes your doctor a spy for the federal government

Barack Obama announced today his much anticipated plan for gun control, gun bans, federal databases of all gun owners, and other measures designed to encroach on the Constitutionally protected rights stemming from the Second Amendment. The plan includes 23 executive orders and working with Congressional Democrats to enact sweeping gun control legislation in the Congress.

Although the plan for 23 executive orders does not include unilateral gun and magazine bans as conservatives had feared, Obama likely concluded that he does not have to include such provisions given that Congressional Democrats will carry out his directives in the legislative arena...

...But perhaps the most controversial part of the executive orders involves several provisions that in essence turns your doctor into a spy for the federal government.

War vet to fight court ruling to strip him of gun rights

A Vietnam war veteran declared Monday that he will fight a decision by a federal appeals court that upheld a lower court ruling stripping him of his Second Amendment right to self-defense with firearms.

Jefferson Wayne Schrader of Cleveland, Ga. is a Navy veteran who in 1968 was convicted of a misdemeanor after engaging in a fist fight following an attack by a street gang while stationed in Annapolis, Md. It so happened that a police officer saw Schrader throw a punch, after which he was placed under arrest and charged with misdemeanor assault. He spent one night in jail and was fined $100.

Schrader then served his country in the Vietnam War...

Burglars target home of gun owner outed by N.Y. newspaper

Two burglars, one of whom was arrested, attempted to steal firearms from the home of a White Plains, N.Y. gun owner whose name and address were published by a newspaper in New York, according to Newsday on Sunday.

The newspaper, The Journal News, has come under increasing fire for publishing the names and addresses of licensed concealed carry gun owners in two N.Y. counties. A third county denied the newspaper's request for their database.

Newsday reported that a gun owner whose name and address was published by The Journal News was burglarized over the weekend and that the perpetrators targeted the homeowner's gun safe...

Obama relies on extremist leftwing group to set policy on guns

Fox News Sunday reported today that the extremist leftwing think tank, Center for American Progress, is setting policy for the Obama administration on gun control.

The Center for American Progress is one of the most extremist groups in the country and is funded by atheist billionaire George Soros. Soros had originally intended for the organization to be Hillary Clinton's personal think tank. And although Soros has funneled untold millions of dollars into the Clinton coffers, he shifting much of his money to Barack Obama.

Defiance grows as elected officials refuse to enforce any new gun control

When President Obama stated just after the Connecticut school shooting that he would seek sweeping new control legislation, which conservatives have predicted all along, he stated that there would be "some resistance." As it turns out, that resistance has been so widespread that elected officials across the country have vowed to refuse to implement any new gun control. A statement issued Friday by a county sheriff in Kentucky is the latest example.

Musings After Midnight--I'll see you in the war: Civil War II--Notes on the coming calamity to restore the Constitution

Good morning, dear Patriots, and welcome. The news is dire and the time is short. So, let's get right down to business.

It is my firm belief that civil war is now inevitable and imminent in America. As with the two world wars of the early 20th century, this will be "Civil War II"--which addresses issues the first Civil War failed to address.

Never before in modern history has there been so much talk even among elected government officials that we stand on the cusp of "insurrection," "a revolutionary uprising," and a "war between citizens on our own soil."

Yet here we are. Even Charles Krauthammer, who is not given to hyperbolic engagement in hysterics, stated that if the Obama Administration proceeds with its gun control plans, there will be insurrection.

And a trusted friend of mine who has significant friends and contacts both inside and outside the government has indicated that war is near and that many militia groups are now poised to fight it. "Let's get this over and done now so our children and grandchildren won't have to," is the sentiment being expressed.

If it were only the gun issue plaguing the current ruling class, civil war probably could be avoided with a simple step or two to back off draconian new gun control laws and gun bans, abandoning plans to register ammo purchases, and focusing instead on sensible security measures for the nation's children. Guns are used to protect the president, congressmen and senators, government officials, banks, money, and Hollywood stars.

Why not the children?

The answer is simple. To seriously protect the children the leviathans would have to admit that ordinary citizens need the unfettered right to keep and bear arms, as our Founders guaranteed in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This they are not willing to do. In their warped world view the people are not to be trusted with guns. Only the elites, the rich, the political ruling class, and the police and military should have access to guns.

King George and the British could not have said it better in the days leading up to the Revolutionary War in 1776.

But guns are not the only issue that has led America to the brink of civil war.

This president has told too many lies, exhibited too much unbridled arrogance, and overstepped the Constitutional limits on his power too often on a number of issues to be let off the hook. So have his enablers in Congress, most of whom are Democrats, although a few Republicans have helped him as well.

Fact 1: Obama won reelection with barely over 50% of the vote. His opponent won over 49% of the vote. This is hardly a "mandate." He does not have a blank check. But he acts like it. He thinks he is King. He acts like a dictator in the tradition of Hitler and Stalin who should be given anything he wants. He is like a big baby who never grew up and is sitting in his high chair banging on the table throwing tantrums. Any American president who displays such qualities does not deserve the office. He should be forcibly removed.

Fact 2: Obama lied to Speaker John Boehner on the debt negotiations. He told him in good faith prior to the election that he would compromise on his demands for tax increases, and accept four dollars in spending reductions for every dollar in tax increases. After the election, Obama changed the goal posts in mid stream. No longer would he settle for $800,000 in tax increases, but he demanded 2.7 trillion in tax hikes. And he insisted that any spending reductions be put off until later.

This is not a quality of good leadership, trustworthiness, or moral integrity. He is unfit for the office. In a different era he would be likened to a sleazy card shark on a Mississippi river boat. While some may admire such a person's ability to outmaneuver opponents using dishonest tricks of the trade, is this a quality we admire or want in a president? Really?

Fact 3: Obama wants to be able to increase the debt ceiling any time he wants, in any amount he wants, without the approval of Congress. Congress resisted that one, but now comes word that he will likely use the 14th Amendment to the Constitution to seize the power to be absolute dictator over the debt and spending. The amendment has never been used in such a fashion in U.S. history. But my sources say he is willing to go down that trail, opening up a plethora of legal challenges that will be tied up in the courts for years. In the meantime, Obama will spend the nation into complete bankruptcy with nobody in Congress or the Courts to stop him. They have shown they don't have the guts.

Patriots have the guts. He must not be allowed to do this, period.

Fact 4: Now that he has been reelected, Obama is appointing the most radical rejects he can find to top cabinet posts. John Kerry at State? Chuck Hagel at Defense? Jack Lew at Treasury? These are absolute clowns, buffoons who should not be serving anywhere in government at all. Each lie through their teeth. They are anti-military, anti-Jew, and anti-fiscal responsibility. And he expects the Senate to roll over and approve these lightweight Leftwing nutcases to the government. Woe be unto us if he gets to nominate new Supreme Court justices.

Republicans had best get in block mode and deny to Obama anyone and everyone he nominates. His choices exhibit a lack of competence and a deep disdain for America and its Constitution. This is why any Supreme Court nominee he sends to the Senate must be BLOCKED, even if it means tying up the Senate in endless filibusters. At all costs he must not be allowed to get whoever he wants in these important offices.

Fact 5: Obama is threatening to use the "executive order" to accomplish what Congress denies him...an abuse of the original intent of the executive order. This would amount to an outright dictatorship that bypasses elected officials in Congress. Such an act in matters of clear Constitutional precedent indicating the need for due process would amount to tyranny, a high crime under the Constitution, and punishable by whatever the Congress deems appropriate, up to and including the death penalty.

Will our castrated Republican leadership do anything about it if Obama goes down this path? I doubt it. That means only one thing, and you know what I am talking about...a citizen posse that will make arrests according to the terms of the 10th Amendment and others. Perhaps it is also time for the citizens to empower the Citizen Grand Jury, given that the judicial branch of government is failing in its duty to uphold the Constitution. The 10th Amendment, thus, gives THE PEOPLE the power to take action in such a circumstance.

Thus, while the gun issue is the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, there are a number of issues driving the current unrest in the heartland of America. In short, we have had quite enough of Barack Obama and all who enable him to take unlawful and unconstitutional actions, and that includes Democrats in Congress, the Courts, and even 50% of our fellow citizens. Our patience has run thin with you for your willful ignorance, your willingness to sell your soul for a government payoff, your lack of basic values and common decency, and your practice of incessantly violating time-honored Constitutional principles that put clear limits on government and how far the "majority" can go. Unalienable rights are not subject to a majority vote.

I fully expect, therefore, that war will break out on our own soil in 2013, unless something drastic is done to reign in the arrogance of Obama and the Washington ruling establishment. These people must be stopped by the process that has been put in place to do so, or else the citizens will take matters into their own hands.

The official line in the sand is the gun issue. And thus, I have some definitive declarations that need to be considered by the powers that be before they go off on an unconstitutional rampage on the rights of the people.

1. We will not comply with any new gun control law.

2. We will not turn in any firearm that you suddenly decide to be "illegal." They are illegal only in your own delusional minds.

3. In the event you limit ammunition or require us to register to get it, we will create the biggest black market in the history of the world. We can make our own ammunition.

4. We will not comply with any new gun bans. We can make our own guns as well, even the type you wish to take from us.

5. The attempt to gain entrance to our homes to confiscate our guns and ammunition will be considered an act of war. We will not comply. Be prepared to kill us if you do such an asinine thing in what is supposed to be a FREE country. But then, also be aware that you will pay a heavy price for perpetrating such tyranny.

6. We will never fire on tyrannical government personnel first. But if we are  fired upon first, you had best be prepared to live with what follows. War is hell.

7. Never again will we allow you to perpetrate a Waco, Texas massacre on citizens merely for trying to practice their religion, though unpopular. And we will never again allow you to pull a Ruby Ridge without swift, severe consequences.

One hundred million citizens own and keep 300 million firearms of various types. Do you honestly believe you have a chance to overwhelm us? Even if only three percent of the 100 million engage in battle, that's three million citizens -- nothing to sneeze at.

The citizen militia in the 1770s defeated the most powerful army in the world at the time -- the British army that presided over a worldwide empire.

And don't think that Civil War I is any indication of government power in this. The situation was entirely different. Southerners at the very outset were in a weakened position. Poverty was rampant. They were at a clear disadvantage.

This time, it won't be one region of the country pitted against another region. Patriot gun owners live in all 50 states, and the three percent are scattered throughout America. That means that if you are in Maine or Massachusetts, your neighbor may be one of the three percent who will fight you and the federal jackbooted government thugs.

And if any one of us is arrested, murdered, or harmed in any way in order to make an example of us, you had best beware and be prepared to go into hiding. Three million angry gun owners will rise up in defiance of your deadly tyranny and teach you a lesson that will go down in history as a definitive moment in our nation.

These words of mine are meant to force the powers that be to think twice and pause indefinitely before they embark on any action that will culminate in such violence in our streets. Mine is but a warning, a word to the wise. You need to know what's coming. And you need to rethink your current course of action.

We are dead serious. We are not going to allow you to blame us for what one idiotic, crazed lunatic does illegally with guns he obtained illegally. Do something to actually secure the schools rather than widow dress with a red herring (gun control and bans), and address the problem of the criminals and the lunatics. But leave the rest of us the hell alone. Or else.

Statistics contradict claims of gun control advocates

In the mass hysteria whipped up by liberal politicians and the mainstream media over guns, some wildly erroneous claims have been made concerning gun violence that calls into question the trustworthiness of the sources. A new report issued today by Science 2.0 highlights these errors and attempts to set the record straight.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-NY, stated in an announcement Wednesday that gun violence is the single most crucial issue of our time. Former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., who now leads a gun control advocacy group, stated that gun violence has consumed the nation and that it is time to say stop. Others in the media who have written numerous op-eds for various publications have claimed that America is overwhelmed by gun violence and that "enough is enough."

The statistics, however, show the exact opposite of what is being claimed by each of these advocates of gun control...

Gun rights controversy puts spotlight on pro-gun sheriff, television station

The current ongoing controversy concerning the gun rights of ordinary citizens, as protected by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, has placed the spotlight on a pro-gun sheriff and a television station that appears to be antagonistic to his views. The station implied Tuesday in a special report that the sheriff's well-known views on guns is partly to blame for a spike in murders.

WSPA-TV, which is the CBS affiliate in the Greenville-Spartanburg region of South Carolina, did a story Tuesday about the Obama administration's push for gun control. The report focused on the local angle, however, when the reporter interviewed Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright and implied by his questions that the sheriff is at least partially to blame for a local spike in murders due to his oft-repeated advice to citizens that they apply and get the training for carrying concealed guns for personal protection.

The number of FBI background checks for new gun purchases rose sharply after the December massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., according to news reports issued today.

Even in Connecticut where strong gun control laws are already on the books, the number of background checks spiked sharply by nearly 10,000 after the shooting rampage that killed 20 children and six adults.

The number of background checks the FBI is requested to conduct for new gun purchases is used as a key indicator of the popularity of gun ownership in the country.

Stealth scheme to pass gun bans in the works in Congress

Although the gun ban legislation promised by U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., is not set to go on the agenda until Jan. 22, 2013, powerful senators are working feverishly behind the scenes, laying the groundwork for a stealth scheme to get the ban passed in spite of heavy opposition, according to two sources today at Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Talking Points Memo (TPM).

Fallout begins from newspaper decision to publish gun owner names

The fallout has begun stemming from the decision of a New York newspaper to publish the names of concealed carry gun owners in its reading area. Megyn Kelly of Fox News learned Thursday that a female stalking victim who had not heard from her assailant in two years has begun receiving harassing anonymous phone calls as she did the last time she heard from the stalker, two years ago.

Kelly also learned that a retired police officer in the area is outraged that his name was published as a concealed carry gun owner, making him an easy target of any of the criminals he has pursued and arrested over the course of his career.

In addition, the victims of domestic abuse who have been in hiding report that...

Williams: 'People who support gun control are the very people who want to control and dictate our lives'

Nationally syndicated columnist and retired professor of economics Walter E. Williams stated Wednesday that the people who support gun control are the very ones who wish to control and dictate our lives, according to Townhall.

Williams was incensed that U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., had called for significant restrictions on the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, stating, "The British are not coming. We don't need all these guns to kill people."

But the rationale of the Founders in insisting on an amendment within the Bill of Rights to protect the right of the ordinary citizens to own and keep firearms, according to Williams, had nothing to do with the British. The War of Independence against Britain had already been won prior to the approval of the Bill of Rights.

Boehner survives to serve another term as House Speaker

Despite heavy criticism from conservatives and rumors of a serious challenge to his leadership, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has survived to serve another term as the chief officer of the U.S. House of Representatives.

I had hoped that Boehner would go. Granted, he has had a very difficult job dealing with a president that is not honest enough nor ethical enough to negotiate with in good faith.

But Boehner is too willing to compromise with free-spending, Constitution-bashing liberals to suit my conservative sensitivities. It has been widely rumored that Boehner is the one who prevented the Issa committee from taking the next step in the Fast and Furious debacle. And so far, it is also rumored that Boehner is the one who has put the breaks on advancing the investigation into the Benghazi massacre in the House.

This kind of timidity is not helpful at this particular point in American politics. We are now dealing with militant Leftists who openly call for the repeal of the Second Amendment, the ditching of the Constitution altogether, and the even the incarceration and murder of conservatives.

As I have said often before, 2013 is not shaping up to be a good year at all in America. I expect open violent conflict in our streets by this summer, if not before then.

And I simply do not think Boehner is the one to give leadership in these highly volatile and dangerous times.

New York newspaper arms itself due to anti-arms stance

A New York newspaper that came under fire for publishing the names, addresses, and phone numbers of licensed concealed carry gun owners has now armed itself for protection, ironically due to its strong anti-arms stance and its editorial insistence on highly restrictive gun control laws, according to a report Tuesday issued by The Rockland County Times.

The Journal News, which serves the New York City area of Rockland and Westchester counties, published all of the names of gun owners within the two counties. The newspaper is well known in the area for its anti-gun views.

Inconsistencies reported in Hillary blood clot hospitalization

When it was first reported Sunday night that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had been hospitalized for a blood clot, news reports immediately focused on the concussion Hillary reportedly had sustained in a fainting spell following a bout with a severed stomach virus.

Supposedly the concussion had led to the blood clot. And supposedly, according to several news reports, Hillary was placed on a regimen of anticoagulant medications to dissolve the clot.

But immediately inconsistencies were noted in the story...

Gun rights activists turn up heat on New York newspaper

In spite of the fact that gun rights activists retaliated against a New York newspaper that published the names and addresses of gun owners, the publisher and editors have decided to double down on the process and publish even more names and addresses.

When the paper, The Journal News, published its first round of names, gun owners retaliated by publishing the names, addresses, and phone numbers of newspaper personnel. This information is considered public and can be found in any courthouse in America.

Reporters for The Journal News, however, complained that publishing their information is a danger to their families and children...

Musings After Midnight--A war-less, bloodless coup is still a coup, and we have been seized

Good evening, dear reader, and welcome to another episode of my infamous "Musings After Midnight" during which I ruminate and cogitate over the state of the country, usually on sleepless nights well after midnight.

I invite you to participate in these exercises with me for the purpose of fostering fellowship and goodwill among like minded people who share my alarm over the state and direction of the nation. We are very much in this together, and we need to know that we are not alone in the battle.

I happen to know that there are millions of us out there who are not only deeply alarmed about what we face at this dire hour but who are contemplating what they wish to do about it.

And so, here we are -- a place where we can gather to give deep and careful consideration to these matters of extreme importance.

This is why I invite you to warm yourself by the virtual fire and avail yourself of warming beverages, virtual of course. But in this age of the Internet, virtual reality often closely mirrors real life, and indeed, what we experience online can be ultimate "real life," provided it is grounded in what's real rather than fantasy.

It has been cold here in the mountains and Piedmont of the Carolinas, and many areas have snow on the ground. So it's a good time to gather and ponder.

My subject today may come as no surprise or news to many of you. Those who regularly visit these pages tend to be the most well informed citizens in America. And thus, you know as well as I do that in spite of all of our talk of staving off a coup by forces that neither recognize nor value the final authority of the Constitution as the ultimate rule of law in this land, in a very real sense we have already been seized in a war-less, bloodless coup.

No shots were fired. No one was killed. No army tanks rolled in the streets. No one announced from loud speakers that we were being taken over by a malevolent force. Yet the coup is every bit as real as if these things had happened.

The election of Barack Obama in 2008 and his subsequent reelection in 2012 is the culmination of that coup that has been in the making for nearly 50 years. None of this happened overnight. It wasn't as if suddenly out of the blue over 50 percent of our fellow citizens decided on a whim that they were going to discard the founding principles and put into office a man who represents something our Founders detested. The forces of evil that perpetrated this coup have been working tirelessly, relentlessly behind the scenes for nearly 50 years to get the country to this point.

There is some disagreement as to when the coup actually began. But this is, in the final analysis, irrelevant. Several factors were at play from the beginning, all happening simultaneously. The nitpickers can argue over which occurred first. But the fact remains that all of these circumstances came together at roughly the same time to form the foundation of the coup that would culminate nearly 50 years later.

One of these factors is the disintegration of the American system of education, both at the primary and secondary level, and at the higher level in academia. After World War II, a distinct change began taking place in education that would forever change the thinking of generations of young Americans. No longer was the United States viewed in the classroom as a force for good but as a symbol of evil. Marxism was hailed as the ultimate force of good. Religion was no longer viewed as an essential adjunct in the development of decent, well rounded citizens. Rather, religion was held up to disdain, a force of oppression that must be eradicated through ridicule, dismissal, and neglect. And American exceptionalism was no longer taught but a subtle, sometimes overt, notion that other cultures and nations were somehow superior to our belief that America was the ultimate pinnacle of freedom and prosperity in the world took hold in the classroom that led to an outright hatred for America by the 1960s, a hatred so deep that professors such as Bill Ayers, close friend and financier of Barack Obama, was bombing federal buildings and urging teenagers to kill their parents.

Closely related to this development was the advent of what has become known as America's "collective guilt" regarding racial discrimination in the past. Somehow white people today are supposed to take on the blame for what others did centuries ago, leading to displays of such overreach as to be laughable, such as the feeling that we need to make financial "reparations" to people of minority races for what our ancestors did to their ancestors, although none of us living today had one thing to do with any of it. And I am deeply convinced that the apparent compulsion of many liberal whites to vote for Barack Obama, against their better judgment, stems directly from this "white collective guilt" that has been foisted on them by an educational system that is stacked in favor of minorities and those who hate America.

At the same time these events were occurring, an alarming fact became known to American liberals in the Democratic Party that led to a proactive change in a key area of American life. During the late 50s and into the 60s the powers that be in the liberal/progressive intelligentsia began to notice that Democrats were showing signs of weakness, even as Lyndon Johnson enjoyed skyrocketing approval numbers and Democrats practically owned both houses of Congress with overwhelming majorities. Some cracks were seen developing in the walls. And the harsh truth became clear -- unless the Democratic Party found a way to expand its base in the future it would be relegated to permanent minority party status.

Why? Because whites were abandoning the Party in droves. My own grandfather, for example, had been a lifelong Democrat, a union member. But the 60s forced him to change his thinking. He began to feel as if he no longer recognized the Party to which he had long professed unquestioned loyalty. By 1980 he told me that he was voting for Ronald Reagan. He said, "I did not change. They did. They left me behind."

Such was the thinking of millions of citizens who would come to be known as "Reagan Democrats."

Some within the Democratic Party foresaw what was coming as far back as the 1960s. Lyndon Johnson was one of them. Thus, Johnson made a major, far-reaching change in the immigration policy of the United States.

Liberals were losing whites. The already had 98 percent of the blacks in their pockets. There was no group left from which to draw, unless they could devise a strategy for producing a new minority group that could help propel them to majority status. But such a thing would mean they would have to go outside the country.

This they did. Johnson changed the formula for who was allowed to immigrate to the United States. Until the 1960s immigration and naturalization had favored Europeans. After the Johnson change, the formula would favor Hispanics and limits would be placed on the number of Europeans allowed to immigrate and become naturalized.

I distinctly remember when the change took place even as a school boy. When I came through elementary school the foreign language everyone was required to learn was French. But by the time I reached junior high and high school, the preferred second language had shifted to Spanish.

When I inquired as to the reason for the change, I was told by an educator that students were encouraged to learn Spanish because of "all of the new Hispanic immigrants coming into the country."

Now, I have no problem whatsoever with Hispanics, or Latinos, or others from the Spanish speaking world. But at the time U.S. policy shifted toward them, the reason was purely political. They were being used as pawns for someone's ulterior political motives, namely, liberals and Democrats. At the time, such persons were impoverished, much more so than Europeans. And thus, they were tailor made for American politicians who pandered to such persons, promising them everything from low cost housing, free medical care, free public education for their children, all at taxpayer expense.

In short, the Democrats figured out that they could buy the votes, bribe Hispanics into being Democrats for life.

In time, this proved invaluable. The Democrats put together a coalition of minority groups -- blacks, Hispanics, radical feminists, anti-capitalists, pro-union Marxists, dependents who are addicted to big government programs, etc., enough to beat Republicans who still rely on whites to win elections.

Liberal Democrat demagogue Sam Donaldson, who masquerades as a journalist, told Chris Matthews last week that he got angry over Tea Party assertions that they "wished to take their country back." "Well," he said, "It is not your country any more. It is our country." He then went on to recount how the Democrats put together a coalition of minorities, denoting major "changes" in America over the past 20 years.

Everyone who sat on Matthews' panel at MSNBC that day nodded their heads approvingly of Donaldson's remarks.

Now, to a degree he is right. But not entirely. Things have, indeed, changed to the point to where a politician can demagogue his way to office by pandering to a half dozen or so minority groups--just enough to squeak out a win. But what Donaldson curiously failed to say was that it is only when Democrats succeed in getting all minorities on the same page can they win.

Had only 2 percent or so of the Hispanic vote gone the other way to Romney, for example, then the outcome of the presidential election would have been very different. That is a razor thin margin and points to the fragility of the minority coalition the liberals have managed to put together.

Many pundits have mused that had Romney simply gone directly to the Hispanic community and noted how their values and ours are one and the same, and pointed out the reasons why American taxpayers do not support endless giveaway programs but wish to help the poor become self-sufficient, he could have won enough Hispanic votes to put him over the top. George W. Bush was able to do so, for example. And contrary to conventional wisdom, it is not the immigration issue that turns Hispanics against Republicans and conservatives. Legitimate Hispanic citizens who came here legally and went through the lawful process of being naturalized have just as much resentment toward lawbreakers from Mexico who seek to get ahead of the line illegally as do American taxpayers.

Thus, there are ways to get Hispanics on board with us.

But as it stands now, Hispanic citizens who voted for Obama have been duped by political opportunists who do not care about them at all but see them only as pawns in a political game. And they have inadvertently participated in a coup, a takeover of the American system of government that has rendered our Constitution meaningless.

I do not believe most Hispanics want that kind of society. But in order to change it, they must be made of aware of what has happened and how they played a role. Many whites also played a role.

And now that the coup has been completed, the real agenda of the progressive minions has come to the forefront. It is not gun control they want but gun CONFISCATION. It is not "reasonable restrictions" they want but outright gun BANS. They do not want to leave law abiding citizens alone but wish to fingerprint and register us if we want to own certain types of firearms.

What part of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" do they not get? The fact is, they get it, and they are going to violate it. And this is my whole point. These people have a deep, abiding disdain for the Constitution and the rights guaranteed therein. And they WILL disregard our rights.

This is lawless, bloodthirsty tyranny of the worst sort, my friends. Our Founders would not be shooting right now. The shooting would be long over and done. And Jefferson, Madison, Henry, Franklin, and Adams would either have the perpetrators in prison, or they would have them swinging from the nearest trees.

What we are facing right now in America is the proverbial line in the sand. Are we going to let them confiscate firearms as they did in Nazi Germany, Communist Russia, or Communist China? Are we going to allow ourselves to be fingerprinted and registered?

I say no.

So what are they doing to do? Arrest us all?

And if they send army tanks down the middle of the streets to quell an uprising of citizens, are they going to blow the heads off of the lone citizens who, as did the courageous anti-Communist Chinese students in Tienanmen Square, stand in front of the tanks and dare them to shoot?

And if you happen to be a anti-gun bigot, a gun control nut, reading this right now, let me be as clear as I can possibly be to you. We will never disarm. You are not getting our guns, period. We will resist. We will fight you to the death. You will have to kill us before you get one single concession of liberty guaranteed to us by our Founders.

Are you willing to do that? Are you ready for the fallout? If you and your jackbooted government hit squads fire on us first, it is "Katy, bar the door." All bets are off, and it will be war in the streets. Are you ready for such blood shed all because you want our guns?

We are not going to start a war. We have vowed that many times. We will never fire first. But if you fire on us, we will finish what you start. You had better be ready before you start down that path.

This is about much more than guns. This is about Constitutional rights as a whole. We will not stop until we take back what you have robbed from us. We WILL restore Constitutional law in this nation one way or another. THAT is a promise.

And woe be unto you who defy our Constitution. You are a traitor and a tyrant. And that Constitution spells out in no uncertain terms the legal recourse that is to be carried out against all of those who defy that Constitution.

You had best think through your position and come to a more reasonable conclusion.

Odd twist to Rochester firefighter murders raises questions

Police in Rochester, N.Y. are reporting today an odd twist to the murders of two firefighters responding to a fire set by William Spengler of Webster, who had set the fires to lure the first responders into an ambush.

Spengler used a semiautomatic weapon and a shotgun to open fire on the firefighters, killing two and wounding three.

But on Friday the Examiner was provided with information showing that Spengler,  who was legally barred from purchasing firearms due to prior crime convictions, received the weapons from a neighbor.
