New York (TLS). The probe into the foiled terrorist plot at JFK International Airport is widening, according to FBI officials. Investigations are now spreading beyond the four who are now in custody.
The Liberty Sphere reported shortly after the thwarted plot went public that something is afoot in the murky world of terrorists. This 'something' is evidenced by three distinct and simultaneous circumstances.
One, the FBI is reporting a marked increase in terrorist 'chatter' that is monitored by surveillance equipment. Two, the Saudi government reported that unusual characters have been seen watching sensitive areas in various airports around the United States, including Chicago's O'Hare. And third, the most wanted man in America, Adnan el-Shukrijumah, is reported to have already smuggled into the country nuclear material that could be used in several 'dirty bombs.'
The present probe is concentrating on secret havens of terrorism in Trinidad and other cities around the world, as well as to the more overt and recognized havens of terror in the Middle East.

TERRORISTS WORKING AT U.S. AIRPORTS
Washington, DC (TLS). Counterterrorism expert Michael Cutler is warning that the nation's airports may already be havens for terrorists such as the one who was charged with conspiring to blow up JFK International Airport.
Cutler is also convinced that this danger is an outgrowth of an immigration problem the nation's leaders refuse to fix.
As you already know, one of the Islamic terrorists arrested in that plot is a former employee of Kennedy International.
The question is, how many more terrorists are presently working for major airports in this country and are simply waiting for the right moment to engage in an act of mass murder?
How do we know for sure that every single airport employee across the nation is to be trusted with some of the most sensitive and invaluable commodities known in the world--including human life?
The fact is, we don't know for sure. And airports cannot tell us for certain that all of their employees have passed stringent background checks.

UPDATE on New York-Kennedy Terrorist Scare
New York, NY (TLS). The foiled terrorist plot at JFK International Airport in New York City has shed light on the literally thousands of unnoticed methods that terrorists could utilize to attack the United States.
Islamic extremists both inside and outside the U.S. have been very busy at work using various surveillance methods to devise deadly means of using the nation's infrastructure to level an attack.
These include ventilation systems for traffic tunnels, such as the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, or perhaps the various means by which America's waterways are prevented from flooding major populated areas.
While most Americans' attention is focused on the large landmarks, such as the Sears Tower or the Statue of Liberty, the nation's law enforcement officials are focused on the mundane but vital aspects of the infrastructure while at the same time keeping an eye on the major landmarks.

Foiled JFK Terror Plot May Be Tip of Iceberg
New York, NY (TLS). The foiled terrorist plot to blow up JFK International Airport in New York is proving to have far-reaching ramifications. New information released this afternoon indicates the Islamic terrorists were also going to blow up jet fuel lines at LaGuardia Airport as well.
In addition, the pipeline that carries the jet fuel that feeds both JFK and LaGuardia originates in New Jersey and runs through residential sectors of Queens. In short, had these terrorists had access to the appropriate explosive devices, they not only could have blown to smithereens two major U.S. airports but several residential areas in a densely populated sector of New York.
But even this may be only the tip of the iceberg.
Back in January, The Liberty Sphere was the first to report that the Saudi government had information concerning suspicious activity at major U.S. airports involving strange persons who were watching restricted areas of the facilities, including Chicago's O'Hare.
Read The Liberty Sphere's original story on the suspicious activity at U.S. airports here:
http://thelibertysphere.blogspot.com/2007/01/suspicious-incidents-at-nations.html
According to sources investigating the foiled JFK terror plot, the perpetrators had been keeping the airports under surveillance since January of 2006. This particular plot and its details were uncovered by under-cover agents who infiltrated the gang of Muslim extremists who were planning the attack.
The FBI and other agencies of the nation's counterterrorism apparatus can be congratulated for this foiled plot. However, as our report showed in January, there may be more of these attacks planned for other airports around the nation.
The Saudis had identified O'Hare in Chicago in particular as one of the targets.
In addition, there is the shocking story that is still evolving involving the most wanted man in America, Islamic terrorist Adnan el-Shukrijumah and his plot to smuggle nuclear devices into the country in order to carry out an Al Qaeda-mandated simultaneous nuclear attack on major U.S. cities.
Read The Liberty Sphere's alert about this particular plot here:
http://thelibertysphere.blogspot.com/2007/06/liberty-alert-nuclear-911-plot-under.html
The bottom line is that the nation's risk level from terrorism is increasing. Our ability to identify and thwart such attacks is greatly improved, yet the level of risk is growing.
This should be a sobering warning to certain Presidential candidates who suggest that there should be no war on terror or who minimize the global threat posed by Muslim extremists.
The threat that was foiled today should be a stark reminder that we are living in an era when crazed Islamic fanatics will stop at nothing to kill thousands, if not millions, of Americans. For the U.S. to go about business as usual thinking that there is no real need to stay alert and fight this threat is tantamount to national suicide.
