FRAUD MAY HAVE CREATED RUN ON BANKS

My friends, it is time for us Americans to settle down and stop the panic about the stock market and home mortgages. And here is why.

The whole IndyMac-California-Run-on-Banks mess may have its roots in nothing more than sheer criminal behavior and NOT in any so-called weakness in the markets.

IndyMac has been the subject of a continuing federal investigation into massive mortgage fraud, according to the FBI.

If widespread, such fraud, according to federal officials and economists, could result in the current problems faced by the mortgage giant, such as the federal takeover last Friday and thousands of customers having their accounts frozen.

Of course, it doesn't help matters when a powerful Senate Democrat, Little Chucky Schumer, runs his mouth and creates widespread doubt about the stability of the markets.

The housing market was actually on the rebound until the latest mess occurred, first resulting from Schumer's bad-mouthing American investments, and then resulting from the apparent massive fraud and corruption that was entrenched in the IndyMac system.

There is no reason to believe that underneath the hype concerning IndyMac's woes is a market that isn't beginning to stabilize itself, IF Americans are willing to calm down, take a deep breath, and view their investments as longterm nesteggs rather than 'get rich now' schemes.

FBI Targets Citizens While Al Qaeda Moves In

Washington, DC (TLS). The news this evening is fast-moving and constantly changing on the subject of counterterrorism and the move of Al Qaeda into the U.S. In the interest of making sense out of the constant barrage of stories emerging all at once, it is of vital importance to connect the dots and look at the various points at which all of these stories intersect.

First, the White House has called an urgent meeting of all of the government's agency heads for this Thursday in the Situation Room. The subject is intelligence reports--reliable intelligence--that indicate Al Qaeda has plans to plant a terrorist cell within the U.S.

That same intelligence also indicates there is a chance that such a cell has already been planted.

Similar pieces of intelligence surface on a regular basis as a matter of course. The fact that the White House is moving quickly on this particular piece of intel only heightens how seriously the government's counterterrorism apparatus is taking the latest threat.

This is NOT just another bit of terrorist 'chatter.'

Second, as The Liberty Sphere reported last week, sources within the Department of Homeland Security indicate that Islamic terrorists are planning a so-called 'summer spectacular' attack on America at some point before Autumn.

Despite Michael Chertoff's initial reaction to the disclosure of secret Homeland Security documents that describe the attack, i.e., 'there is no credible intel that indicates the U.S. is in danger of an imminent terrorist attack,' Chertoff appeared to back off from that initial assessment today.

According to Chertoff, 'I have a gut feeling we may be in for a major terrorist attack this summer.'

Perhaps Chertoff decided that his initial claim made him look exceedingly deceptive, particularly in light of the fact that certain news organizations had copies of the secret documents.

Third, instead of adequately preparing the country and its law enforcement agencies for the likelihood of such an attack, the FBI instead has been targeting ordinary U.S. citizens, 'mining' them for information that may link them to terrorist activity.

The problem has been a woefully flawed process of determining which citizens may be a threat, leading to law-abiding citizens being tagged as potential terror threats, placed on surveillance and watch lists, and placed on the no-fly lists of airlines.

Congress is now in the process of investigating these breaches of Constitutional rights--one of the few things Congress has done right this year.

In spite of the obvious Constitutional questions raised by the practice of 'mining' citizens by the FBI, the more critical issue at stake here is that the more the FBI uses precious time and manpower to conduct frivolous and legally-questionable activity, the less time and resources it has to manage the real threat posed by Al Qaeda's move into the U.S.

UPDATE ON CAIR'S TIES TO TERRORISM

Washington, DC (TLS). CAIR has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a funds-to-foreign-terrorist scheme, according to the FBI. The Liberty Sphere first reported on this most interesting development last week.

BREAKING NEWS ON JFK TERROR PLOT PROBE

New York (TLS). The probe into the foiled terrorist plot at JFK International Airport is widening, according to FBI officials. Investigations are now spreading beyond the four who are now in custody.

The Liberty Sphere reported shortly after the thwarted plot went public that something is afoot in the murky world of terrorists. This 'something' is evidenced by three distinct and simultaneous circumstances.

One, the FBI is reporting a marked increase in terrorist 'chatter' that is monitored by surveillance equipment. Two, the Saudi government reported that unusual characters have been seen watching sensitive areas in various airports around the United States, including Chicago's O'Hare. FBI Reports High Level of Terrorist 'Chatter'

Washington, DC (TLS). The FBI is reporting a spike in the level of what is known as 'terrorist chatter' over the past two years within the United States. Surveillance sources indicate that since 2005 the chatter has been unusually high and has sparked a sharp increase in search warrants issued within our borders.

Such chatter has resulted in several high-level arrests and the foiling of terrorist plots in the making.

However, the two years of chatter has revealed a few gaps in the nation's security apparatus. TWO FOILED TERROR PLOTS IN ONE WEEK

Washington, DC (TLS). Americans should be celebrating right now. Not only that, but they should be singing the praises of the Bush Administration. In less than one week, two major terrorist plots on our own soil have been foiled.

Somebody is obviously doing their job and doing it well.

Earlier in the week a terrorist cell operating in America's heartland, in St. Louis, was busted after information surfaced concerning Muslim Palestinian immigrants who were planning to use grenades, mines, and other heavy fire-power to launch attacks against American citizens.

The Liberty Sphere reported on this thwarted attack this past Sunday.

Then, just days later the FBI announced that it had foiled a major terrorist plot to murder hundreds of U.S. soldiers in major military bases around the country. The Muslim extremists were caught just in time.

My friends, these are major successes that should call forth congratulatory words from citizens all across the country. Had the President and his Administration not been doing their jobs, there is no way to ascertain the mass carnage that these two plots would have produced.

SWORN AFFIDAVIT PROVES ISLAMIC JIHADISTS PLANNED TERROR PLOT

Washington, DC (TLS). A sworn affidavit by an FBI informant, who worked on the plan to thwart a terrorist plot in the making against U.S. soldiers on our own soil, shows beyond any doubt that the men who were arrested were, in fact, Muslim extremists intent on carrying out the Jihad.

In spite of CAIR's insistence that Islam had nothing to do with the terrorist plot, including demanding that news outlets avoid connecting the terrorists to Islam, The Smoking Gun has the goods that prove just who these men are.

In fact, the document you will read below provides details of the six men using Al Qaeda tapes and other materials by Osama bin Laden as sources of training to carry out this particular part of the Jihad. Whether or not they are actual members of Al Qaeda is a moot point. They nonetheless consider themselves as part of the Jihad, and obviously consider Osama bin Laden as a hero who models for them exactly how to conduct terrorist attacks against the West.

FBI Says 'Muslim Extremists' Planned to Kill Hundreds

Washington, DC (TLS). The FBI is reporting today that the men who were arrested on Tuesday for attempting to carry out a terrorist plot to kill hundreds of U.S. soldiers were 'Muslim extremists.'

FLASH! Update on School Bus Terrorism

Charlotte, NC (TLS). Michael Cutler, one of the top counterterrorism experts in the nation, states that the recent FBI warning concerning the possibility of school bus terrorism should be taken with utmost seriousness.

Although the FBI downplayed the significance of the threat by stating there is no current credible threat to the nation's students and school buses, Cutler maintains there is ample reason for alarm.

Citing a known history of terrorist groups utilizing school vehicles either as a cover for covert operations or as a means to launch direct attacks, Cutler states that a prudent course is to maintain a heightened level of alert. Terrorists have done this sort of thing before, many times.

Here are some examples:

*In the summer of 2006 the New York Times reported that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police had taken down a terrorist cell operating out of Ontario. One of the ring leaders of that terror cell was a local school bus driver who used his position to recruit for the Jihad and to gain easy access to hundreds of students on a daily basis.

*In August of 2004 terrorists attacked a school in Russia that resulted in the deaths of 323 hostages, including 156 children. According to a CNN report of that terrorist attack, the perpetrators had access to the school through unexpected means--such as school buses, among others.

In addition, according to Cutler, school buses make excellent covers for surveillance and covert operations. The FBI reports that Muslim terrorists have been buying school buses and getting licenses to drive them. Thousands of school buses dot the landscape each day throughout America to the extent that no one notices them except when they put out the 'STOP' signal. What better way to conduct subversive and dangerous operations within the United States than to use a school bus as a cover?

Further, Cutler states that these buses are the perfect vehicles for transporting explosives, bombs, and other weapons. These vehicles are large and ubiquitous, and thus, they provide a perfect place to pack full of explosive devices. At that point a school bus automatically becomes one large weapon of mass destruction.

The FBI claims that most foreign nationals who are now driving school buses are 'legitimate.'

How do we know this? How do they define 'legitimate?'

If the term 'legitimacy' is defined in the same manner that illegal aliens who run drugs into this country from Mexico are defined, this nation faces a most serious, dire threat.

The United States government has taken such a lackadaisical attitude toward illegal aliens that even foreign criminals are granted immunity in exchange for testifying against our own Border Patrol agents. Given the government's track record on the immigration status of nearly 20 million illegal aliens, it is awfully difficult to buy into their notion that all of these foreign nationals who drive school buses are 'legitimate.'

In short, no matter what the FBI says publicly, the nation's counterterrorism intelligence apparatus believes that this is a most serious threat to the nation's security.

UPDATE on School Bus Terrorist Plot

Charlotte, NC (TLS). The Liberty Sphere reported on Friday that the FBI had issued an alert concerning the possibility that 'extremists' may be attempting to gain employment as school bus drivers in districts across the nation. In spite of the FBI's assurances that it has no credible evidence to support the belief that our school children are in any danger, The Liberty Sphere's anonymous sources indicate that Muslim terrorists may be plotting a terrorist attack using the nation's school buses.

We have received further information that confirms those sources.

According to those who are working closely with the FBI in investigating this frightening scenario, the FBI has reason to believe that foreign extremists in the Jihad have either recently obtained jobs as school bus drivers or have recently received their licenses to do so.

Reports around the country indicate an unusual spike in the number of foreigners who have applied for these jobs. And these are not just ordinary foreigners. Given the FBI's expert and life-saving profiling techniques, these particular foreigners fit the description of Muslim terrorists.

Not only that, but the FBI fears that some of these extremists may be already driving school buses around the country.

While the FBI is publicly downplaying the nature and extent of the threat, it is clear that a threat does exist. And it conjures up images of the unthinkable. Remember that in many places of the world, terrorists do not hesitate to use babies, children, and youth to conduct suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks.

The Liberty Sphere is certain that the FBI does not want to create an unnecessary panic among parents across the country. False alarms do nothing but create the 'boy who cried wolf' syndrome and contribute to massive apathy on the part of the populace.

This is all the more reason to take this threat seriously.

It is better to be safe than sorry. If it turns out that no terrorist plot is in the works, we can all breath a sigh of relief and be thankful. On the other hand, if the present scenario of unusual and suspicious persons applying for school bus licenses turns out to be the beginning of a terrorist plot, we can all be thankful that the FBI was alert and on the case. And the due diligence on the part of school officials, students, and parents, is imperative in reporting unusual or suspicious activity among school bus drivers.

Affidavit Points to High Level Help in OKC Bombing

Washington, DC (TLS). An affidavit filed in the U.S. District Court in Utah claims that high level government officials, particularly in the FBI, were involved in the Oklahoma City bombing. The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that bombing co-conspirator Terry Nichols has cooperated with officials investigating the case and has pointed investigators to someone in the highest levels of the FBI, as well as overseas Islamic terrorists.

While the story that ran in the Salt Lake Tribune does not mention terrorism, the families of victims of the Oklahoma City bombing have long insisted that Nichols and his partner, Timothy McVeigh, had connections to overseas Muslim terrorists. This is in addition to their contact in the highest levels of the FBI.

The filing of the affidavit on February 9, 2007, is an important step in the investigation. Prior to that date, Nichols had not been allowed to submit his information to the court.

The Liberty Sphere has long believed that McVeigh and Nichols were convenient scapegoats for the bombing. There is no doubt they were involved, but this case goes far beyond McVeigh and Nichols. The fact that the government has been dragging its feet for over 10 years in tracking down connections between the bombing and Islamic terrorists, and possible co-conspirators in the highest levels of government, only adds to the suspicions.

Now that Nichols has made his statement to the court, and the information is on record, perhaps we can now take this case to the next level. The nation owes it to the families of the victims.

Terrorism in Salt Lake City

Washington, DC (TLS). Although the mainstream media and the Salt Lake police have been reluctant to correctly identify Mall killer Sulejmen Talovic as a Bosnian Muslim refugee, word comes today that the perpetrator's father believes his son had been adversely influenced by some unnamed entity. In an interview today a local Salt Lake television news affiliate reported that the elder Talovic stated that judging from the manner in which his son killed his victims and the manner in which he died, it is clear that he was being influenced by somebody, somewhere with malevolent intent.

Investigations into the possible motives of the killer, who was killed in a shootout with police at the scene, indicate that Talovic had been a faithful attendee at a local Muslim mosque. According to reports, Talovic had suddenly stopped showing up at the mosque about a month ago after reading material concerning recruitment of young men by Islamic extremists to serve in the worldwide Jihad.

These reports are as yet unconfirmed. However, a recent article in a major investment journal reported on the phenomenon which has become known around the world as 'Sudden Jihad Syndrome.' This phenomenon occurs in young men of the Muslim faith who had no previous record of violence, but after reading, hearing, or watching descriptions of the goals and objectives of Muslim Jihadists they will often suddenly and with no prior indication burst forth into a fury of random violence.

The Talovic case is eerily similar to another incident of sudden random violence on the part of a Muslim young man in North Carolina. As reported in The Liberty Sphere's exclusive report on Terror Cells in North Carolina, a 22-year-old Muslim by the name of Mohammed Taheri-azar plowed his vehicle into a group of students on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, injuring nine. The attacker wrote a local news reporter and stated that his motivation for the attack was the Koran. Taheri-azar is also a member of the Raleigh chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS).

Sudden Jihad Syndrome is a risk factor for young impressionable Muslim young men who are vulnerable to the inflammatory rhetoric of extremist Islamic factions, who are adept at recruiting young Muslims for the Jihad.

Thus, while the FBI, the mainstream media, and the local police fall all over themselves to avoid consideration of a link between the Mall attack and Muslim Jihadists, with each passing day it is appearing more and more certain that the Salt Lake attack was an act of Muslim terrorism. And with each squandered opportunity for the Department of Homeland Security and other law enforcement agencies to identify, track down, and arrest shadowy figures in the murky world of the Muslim Jihad, the nation edges closer to another major terrorist attack.
