Hiding the truth about the California drought

To hear the politicians and mainstream media tell it, one would think that the drought that is in the process of devastating the central valley of California is the result of "global warming." But a deeper look reveals nothing of the sort and exposes politicians and the mainstream media for engaging in a coordinated effort to hide the truth.

Who Will Sing One Song for Me?

Just something I remember and think about.

You can read it here.

It's the lyrics from an old bluegrass song I remember from childhood.

The real reason for Obamacare deadline extension

In spite of numerous statements to Congress and the media to the contrary by administration officials, the Obama administration announced yet another in a long series of extensions of the deadline for signing up for Obamacare. This comes in spite of the fact that Obama announced today that the revised goal of 6 million enrollees has been reached.

The Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup for 3/27/2014

The Christian Mercenary writes an excellent piece on why Connecticut matters in the fight for gun rights and liberty.

Free North Carolina passes along its take on the gargantuan news that the FBI has dumped the infamous Southern Poverty Law Center as a "hate crimes resource." It couldn't have happened to a more deserving entity.

Give Me Liberty reports that one of the Supreme Court justices was stunned by a statement of one of the lawyers arguing against Hobby Lobby in the latest Obamacare case. You could have heard a pin drop. But the question is what does it mean?

In Jennifer's Head makes an excellent point about those who believe their employer is somehow obligated to provide things for them, outside a decent wage and a safe workplace.

JulieG informs us about Gun Girls Radio, a weekly radio talk show that focuses on firearms, especially as they relate to women.

3 Boxes of BS provides an update on the status of concealed carry laws in Texas.

The Arizona Rifleman says that Bill Maher has asked, "Why doesn't the Democratic Party come out against the Second Amendment?" Good question. Everybody knows that every single Democrat in Congress is either anti-gun or semi-anti-gun.

Northeast Shooters reports that a federal court has upheld San Francisco's new ammo ban and gun laws.

Plan for the Day notes the vast ignorance of most Americans and shows us a brief video that proves it. Take a look.

Freedom Is Just Another Word... reminds us that guns and freedom go together. They either stand together or fall together. A worthwhile read.

Extrano's Alley answers with a vehement NO! to a common myth that "guns are the leading cause of death in the United States."

From Stately McDaniel Manor: "A Tale of Two Missiles."

Mike Vanderboegh has an important update on the planned smuggling campaign for Connecticut. Of extreme importance...

Nicki notes that a journalist has attacked a 9 year old who is gaining national attention for her shooting skills in tournaments.

Tam muses on her "carry gun" and provides a photo to boot.

Brigid says she is almost finished with her new book, "The Book of Barkley" in memory of the death of her dear dog. She also provides some mighty fine writing on other subjects.

David Codrea reports that citizens can learn and use jury power to thwart unjust prosecutions. And by the way, glad to have David back after his recent illness and hospitalization.

Kurt Hofmann digs a little deeper into Obama's controversial choice for Surgeon General, who thinks guns are a healthcare issue.

WRSA declares we are in deep ca ca and sinking fast. Be sure to read the piece provided at his link.

Pamela Geller has the enraging news that the Palestinian Authority has declared that Jews must not pray at the western wall of the Temple Mount. Like hell. These charlatan interlopers who stole that land from the Jews who built it would like to banish the entire country from the region. But they will settle for co-ownership. The last time they did that, the Muslims would not allow Jews to have access to their holiest sites in the city that has been Hebrew/Jewish for at least 1000 years before the birth of Christ. Oh, and Mohammad didn't come along until 600 years AFTER the birth of Christ. But since when did Muslims allow facts to effect them?

Report: Americans commit an average of 3 felonies a day

Excerpt:

...it is impossible to live a full day of normal activities without committing at least one or more criminal acts, to the tune of an average of three felonies a day.

This means at least two things, one being that most of these laws are never enforced, and two being that should it decide to enforce them the government could legally place as many citizens as it wanted under arrest and taken to jail pending trial.

Perhaps this is the most ominous and frightening aspect of the growing power of the federal government. We are all felons. And, as we have been told time and again by various government and law enforcement entities, being ignorant of the law is no excuse for breaking it.

The Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup for 3/25/2014

Mike Vanderboegh updates us on David Codrea's health status. He's been out since last Friday after having collapsed at his home. He was hospitalized but has now returned home. Mike has more on that. In addition, Mike has had more of his own health issues.   Keep them both in your prayers.

Kurt Hofmann issues a warning to the gun-grabbers concerning a matter that I will guarantee you they have not thought about -- liability.

WRSA provides a link to a list of abuses for which Barack Obama is guilty straight from the Declaration of Independence itself.

Karl Denninger has another example of how the public schools are no place for our children and youth to be. Parents should pull them all out now and focus on either homeschooling or private schools. I wouldn't send my dog to a public school. Besides, he's smarter than most of the teachers and administrators.

Tam shares some biting commentary on the Sunday morning news shows, one in particular, that got her blood boiling.

Way Up North posts a photo remembrance of the 1964 earthquake in Alaska that registered 9.2 on the scale. Amazing photos.

Traction Control informs us of all of his additions to his gun store inventory, as of today.

The Wandering Minstrel has a very interesting must-read on the Founding Fathers and gun rights. Don't miss it because this gets right down to the heart of the matter.

Stand Up America provides the plausible terror connection between the Malaysian airliner and radical Muslim extremists. Remember, even if the plane is way down south in the southern Indian Ocean, that still does not explain ANY of why it happened. And we know Malaysia and Indonesia in particular are both hotbeds of radicalized Islam.

Nicki blasts WaPo over yet another editorial claiming that guns are a "health issue." I have already decided that if I encounter any doctor who tries to make this a health issue, he/she will be reported to the examining board, not to mention that I will make it clear in no uncertain terms that I think they are nothing more than voodoo snake oil artists who should not have a license to practice medicine.

Brigid blogs on the Bersa .380 and provides a thorough evaluation of its effectiveness and suitability.

Golden Geese News declares that everywhere Obama goes he costs people money. One could safely say that about Michelle too.

Days of our Trailers gives us the latest from Chicago and its determination to continue with more and more gun restrictions.

CLO provides us with good reason to cheer for Idaho.

Pamela Geller comments on the Vatican's recent statement that the Obama regime has been increasingly hostile toward Christian civilization. Finally, somebody gets it and is willing to say it!

Alphecca has the latest update on the church in New York that raffled off an AR-15. The media up there went bonkers. And continues to do so.

Gateway Pundit shares the perfect reason why we should never believe a word that comes out of the mainstream media. Look at this chart, and then keep scrolling for the real eyeopening chart. Unemployment is easing, you say? Horse ca ca.

Squeaks provides some words of advice about gun owners and places of business that won't allow guns.

The Smallest Minority posts a thorough, must-read treatise on the fact that we no longer have rights in this country and that the average citizens commits three felonies a day. Yeah, I know that no man can negate a natural right, but they can sure remove Constitutional protections from it. That means they can target ANY of us whenever they want, and charge us with any number of felonies we unwittingly committed.

A Little Faith

As most of you regular readers know by now I have widely varied musical tastes. I love classical music and several other types. But I learned the fundamentals of singing from the great Gospel quartets. I was raised on it. Then later I built on that foundation when I received musical/vocal training at one of the top music schools in the south.

This song I had to share with you. It is very dear to my heart. I have it on CD, but I never could find a video of it...until now.

These are my good buddies, Glen Allred, Les Beasley, Derrell Stewart, all of whom retired in 2007, along with Gene McDonald, Josh Garner, and company -- the fabulous Florida Boys. Here they sing a song called "A Little Faith." I can only tell you that this song has gotten me through a thousand dark days since it was released in 2000.

I wanted to share it with you. You may be in some sort of great need tonight. As the song says, "It's amazing what a little faith can do." I hope you are blessed by it. (A personal word below the video).
A Little Faith by the Florida Boys.

Glen, if you are reading this, I still think you are the greatest quartet baritone who ever lived. Thank you for countless hours of some of the smoothest and best baritone singing i have ever heard.

Les, you are the greatest quartet manager and arranger who ever lived. And I still like to hear you sing on those old Florida Boys records with Tommy Atwood, Billy Todd, and you, Glen, and Derrell.

Derrell, you defined what a quartet pianist should be in the 60s and 70s. That puts you right up there with Roger Bennett and Anthony Burger.

And Gene, as I have told you on numerous occasions, your bass singing is phenomenal. Only two others share your excellence -- the late great George Younce and Big Chief Weatherington.

I miss seeing you all out on the road.

Vermont targeted by sheriffs who oppose new gun laws

Excerpt:

At issue are three controversial measures that were put to the voters in Burlington. On March 4, voters joined elected officials in other northeastern states in passing stringent gun control measures in the hysteria that followed the Newtown, Conn. shooting. First, Burlington voters passed a law requiring that gun owners keep their firearms under lock and key at all times in their homes. Second, Burlington approved a measure that banned the carry of firearms in restaurants and bars altogether. And third, the anti-gunners in Vermont authorized police to confiscate guns in domestic disputes.
