Obama's bumbling buffoonery backfires

Excerpt:

"The majority can vote themselves into slavery and tyranny. Thus, unless a populace understands that the primary objective in implementing the concept of "one man, one vote" is to foster human rights, basic human liberty, and freedom of conscience, then giving the populace the right to select their own leaders can eventually culminate in a fate much worse than the form of government they had prior to democratic elections.

"This simple, basic concept was lost on the Obama administration. No one, not even Obama himself, and certainly not his masterminds behind the Arab Spring uprisings such as Valerie Jarrett and Middle East adviser Samantha Power, understood that deposing Mubarak and giving Egyptians a popular vote would do no good whatsoever unless the ground had been prepared years in advance to promote the concepts of unalienable rights, freedom of speech and the press, and the freedom to practice one's religion even if it comprises a tiny minority of the populace."

Something refreshing for a change

The beautiful melody dates back at least two centuries and was known simply as an "old Irish tune." In the mid 1800s it was published as an instrumental under the title "The Londonderry Air." Lyrics were added to the melody in the early 20th century, and the tune became known as "Danny Boy."

But many writers of various kinds put their own words to the tune, one of the more popular being Dottie Rambo's "He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need," which was published and sung as a Southern Gospel song.

The tune can also be found in various old hymnals in churches around the world under various and sundry titles and with wide variations in the wording. It has also been set to romantic lyrics and used as a love song.

But in every corner of the globe the tune is known. It is one of the most beloved pieces of music in history.

Here, Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra present The Londonderry Air as only they could. I have said much about Ormandy, and I won't repeat all of that here. Suffice it to say that this is a prime example of why I loved Ormandy's interpretations of great pieces of music. This is also an example of Ormandy's belief that strings, the violins, violas, cellos, bass violins, etc, form the foundation of a great orchestra. And this is why Ormandy worked relentlessly with the strings more than any other instruments to get the sound he wanted.

Folks, I hate to sound like a broken record, but this is as close to perfection as it gets. If this rendition of The Londonderry Air won't touch you and pull on your heart strings, then nothing will. It's only four minutes in length.

Of course, we have come to expect that from the Bastard. That's one of the many reasons Liberty Sphere readers have come to refer to the beloved New York City mayor as a Bastard. Did I tell you today that Bloomberg is a Bastard?

Police state: homes commandeered for stakeout, owners assaulted

A police state in America? It could never happen here, could it. Think again. Although at one time such a thing would have been unthinkable in "the land of the free," those days are quickly coming to an end.

Within the past year many news stories have surfaced showing that the homeland is being increasingly dominated by a militarized police force. Some of these pseudo-troops are from the Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies. Others are from local police departments that are being trained by the Feds to conduct military style operations against citizens, along with military grade weapons and vehicles.

The latest example of the growing police state...

Restoring Jefferson's honor

In recent years the reputation and honor of Thomas Jefferson, the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence, have been tarnished by those with a hidden agenda. That agenda is to undermine the philosophy of those who founded this nation.

To that end revisionists have attempted to focus solely on the human foibles of the Founders, as if those foibles automatically and irreparably discredit them and their vision for what America should be.

Perhaps no one has been more adversely impacted by this revisionism than Thomas Jefferson, although all of the Founders to some degree have been thusly tarnished.

Independence Day, 2013

I hope you are enjoying your holiday on this day that we celebrate our founding as a nation.

Let us, on this day, be thankful for liberty, freedom, rights, and the Founders' vision in this era when politicians and others say the most asinine things concerning what to do on July 4.

Pelosi and others like her say we should celebrate Obamacare. What a major desecration of what this day is all about!

So, my friends, let us be thankful for what our forefathers gave us, but let us be truly vigilant that nobody anywhere, not even within our own government, snuff out the light of freedom and liberty.

The whole story of Jeff Olson, 'the mad chalker'

On the surface Jeff Olson of San Diego, Calif. does not appear to be the type to engage in civil disobedience, particularly not to the degree that he wound up in jail and became the center of a court case that revolved around First Amendment free speech rights, vandalism, and the Fourth Amendment right to be free from search and seizure.

Jurors deliver smack down in Calif. free speech case

Excerpt:

"News reports indicate that the Bank of America pressured the city attorney's office to bring vandalism charges against Olson, claiming that it had spent over $6000 to clean up the chalk messages.

"Such a claim is hard to believe given the nature of the chalk Olson used. A hosepipe and water removes the chalk easily.

"And it certainly did not help matters from a public relations standpoint for the judge in the case to slap a gag order on Olson and to side with the prosecution in barring any mention of the First Amendment right to free speech, free expression, or political speech in the defense of Olson. "

More tyranny in America: judge rules First Amendment has no authority

America has fallen off the cliff into the abyss of tyranny. The signs are numerous. From unconstitutional laws that directly contradict Second Amendment gun rights to a rogue federal agency that routinely spies on all citizens to Supreme Court judges who create law out of thin air, it has become abundantly clear that none of the liberties that are supposed to be protected by the Constitution are in fact being protected.

The primary purpose of the Constitution is to safeguard the rights of citizens from oppressive government and from the tyranny of majority rule. The fact that in the current Court system, and in Congress, and in the White House these safeguards no longer apply means that the Constitution has been rendered impotent, meaningless, and invalid.

The latest case in point is...
