200 Oath Keepers renew vows

In the middle of anti-gun territory in Massachusetts and Connecticut, 200 patriots who are part of the Oath Keepers movement renewed their vows to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic." A key portion of that Constitution is the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

The significance of the gathering was underscored by the fact that the area has been the focus of fear and apprehension in the wake of the bombing of the Boston Marathon and the subsequent shootout and capture of the remaining suspect...

Oath Keepers was founded by a group of law enforcement officers, military personnel, and other government officials who have vowed never to violate their oath of office, which states that they swear to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic."

The group declares that they intend to uphold the oath even if their superiors order them to defy it.

Missouri reveals ATF wanted gun owner data

In late February it was first reported that the state of Missouri had turned over to the federal government the complete list of all licensed concealed carry permit holders in the state. Many states, including Missouri, require gun owners to get training and pass a field test in order to carry concealed guns.

The states are not required to share their lists of concealed carry permit holders with the federal government. But apparently Missouri did exactly that some time in February.

Gun rights activists immediately cried foul, given that the federal government is prevented by current law from establishing a database of gun owners.

An investigation into the incident ensued, and public hearings were held...

Obama blows his stack on gun control vote

Attorney and radio commentator Hugh Hewitt, reacting to Obama's explosive tone, stated that the president had acted in a manner that is unbecoming to the office of president and added to the pain and heartache of those who are suffering in the wake of the Newtown shooting.

Vowing that he would continue to do all that is necessary to pass more gun control legislation, Obama castigated Senate Republicans and a few Democrats who voted with them...

I could use your prayers

I've had another flair-up with my eye problem after having gone the longest without an adverse incident since this stuff started back in 2008. I knew these things would happen at the outset. But I had thought that since it had been so long between episodes, I could be home free.

But it was not to be.

As always, I expect this to respond well to treatment. But I always have in the back of my mind, "What if this time there is no positive response?"

I am trying to stay positive. And I could use your prayers and positive thoughts during this time.
