Now It's All About Women

Michelle Obama came out of hiding to delve into politics once again, this time giving a speech claiming that government-run healthcare is a 'women's issue.'

Have you ever noticed that each time Progressives wish to get the upper hand on an issue they claim 'women are being shortchanged,' and therefore government must do something to fix it?

At the present time in America women are probably getting better care than any of the identified 'minority' groups. Most hospitals have special programs just for women, such as birthing centers, mammogram programs, reproductive health, and the like. I don't notice these facilities providing 'men's health centers.'

I don't have a problem with any of this. I'm just saying that Michelle is creating a crisis where there clearly isn't one.

If this "new and improved" health care goes into effect I think we'll see about a 20% rise in female cancers. I got screening very early as I was adopted, and they found something. That was over 10 years ago and I'm still kicking. Had it been the new plan they would have said "nope, you don't need that til you're 50" and I would not be writing these words.

Good point, Brigid. Not only is it simply not true that the current healthcare system is 'bad for women,' but it will actually get much much worse if the new system goes into effect as it stands now in the bill passed by the Waxman committee in the House.

And by the way, Brigid, I'm happy to hear you survived your bout and that you are now doing well.
