Showdown in the Senate--2 PM Today

At 2 PM this afternoon, the U.S. Senate will begin debate on the massive and unprecedented 1.1. trillion-dollar 'economic stimulus' plan proposed by Obama and the Democrats.

Senate Republicans have stated that they intend to mount fierce opposition to the plan. And for good reason.

As we have shown repeatedly on The Liberty Sphere, the plan is loaded with multi-billions for liberal special interest groups, including Obama's fraudulent group ACORN. This is nothing more than getting set for the 2012 elections under the guise of 'helping American workers.'

Workers are not helped in this plan unless you believe that giving multi-billions to big labor Unions is tantamount to helping average workers put food on the table.

And for good measure, the Obama plan places a check from the federal government (the taxpayers) into the hands of every single illegal alien. Once again, this is more insurance for the Democrats leading up to the 2012 election.

The problem is that NONE of it really helps the economy or creates jobs.

Senate Republicans apparently are seeing the same thing in this bill that their colleagues in the House saw--billions upon billions of pork, running up the national debt, and giving taxpayers' money to special interest groups that will help get Obama and the Democrats elected again in 2012.

It is becoming a distinct possibility that Obama's pork project will pass through Congress without gaining a single Republican vote in either the House or the Senate.

I can think of no better way to make a clear statement to the electorate about the nature of this bill. The Democrats certainly have the votes to pass it without Republican support. Let them. They will then be forced to suffer the consequences of its coming failure.

Ive seen a little and been hearing that a lot of it won't be in effect for some time.

How do you think that would play into it? If it doesn't pass, not that it would really DO anything but throw money away, and things keep going down down down how do you think THAT would play out with the controlled media and leftys?

It's right back to blame the republicans while passing the kool-aid around and chanting NAHNAHNAH REPUBLICANS ARE TO BLAME! It's BUSHES FAULT!

They will pass a bill even if it is not this one in its present form. They will get enough Republicans to sign onto it...and they won't need many with such an overwhelming Democrat majority.
