RNC's Choice of Martinez Will Cost GOP Votes

Washington, DC (TLS). The GOP has made a colossal mistake in selecting Senator Mel Martinez, R-FL, as the new Chair of the Republican National Committee. In an era when most Americans view border security as one of the most pressing issues of the day, Republicans seem to have a blind spot to the public will on this issue.

Repeatedly Republicans have chosen individuals to head the RNC who push an open borders agenda, even as American citizens grow increasingly wary of the precarious position into which our immigration policy has placed the country. To their concerns the Republicans have turned a deaf ear. The RNC goal is the cheap labor that Hispanics bring to the country, and then conducting 'Hispanic outreach' for votes.

Democrats are no better. It has been common knowledge for quite some time that Democrats in particular target their voter registration drives to minorities, including Hispanics, often sending illegal aliens to the polls to vote under the names of dead persons.

As for the Republican role in the scheme, my prediction is that this poor choice for RNC Chair will cost the GOP votes in 2008, unless the Party can push to the forefront those candidates who are serious about enforcing the nation's clear laws on illegal immigration.

The story below on VDARE has all of the sordid details.

'The previous two chairs of the RNC, Ed Gillespie and Ken Mehlman, have pushed an open borders agenda with the stated goal of Hispanic outreach. Now Sen. Mel Martinez of Florida (R-Cuba) has been elected as their next chairman.

'Sen. Martinez has been one of the most vigorous supporters for Amnesty and Hispandering in the U.S. Senate. The invaluable Americans for Better Immigration give him a career and recent "D" record for his support for amnesty. Sen. Martinez has repeatedly voted against English as the official language and even delivered the first Spanish speech on the Senate floor.'
