30,000 In An 80,000-Seat Stadium

Heralded by a mass of television and newspaper publicity the Oprah-Obama Show, starring Oprah Winfrey and B. Hussein Obama, came to South Carolina on Sunday with great expectations.

Buoyed by the news that tickets to the event, which was originally to be held in the 18,000 seat coliseum in Columbia, were being scooped up like white powder to a cocaine user, organizers decided to move the event to the massive Williams-Brice Stadium on the campus of the University of South Carolina.

The event was trumpeted by Obama supporters and Oprah groupies, with the help of the mainstream media which holds both Oprah and Obama in God-like reverence. Thus, the two personalities who are treated like rock stars decided to head to South Carolina where Democrats overwhelming support Mrs. Clinton.

Mrs. Clinton just received two weeks ago the endorsement of roughly two-dozen African-American clergymen in the state.

However, a brand new poll suggests that Mrs. Clinton may nonetheless have reason to begin to worry. Despite the endorsement of the clergymen, apparently there has been some movement in the polls, and it is not to Mrs. Clinton's favor.

The poll shows that support among African-Americans in the state is evenly split between Mrs. Clinton and Barack Obama, despite the popularity of Bill Clinton among African-Americans. If this poll turns out to be accurate, this could effect the results of the January 26th primary in a state where 52% of Democrats are Black.

Nonetheless, today's Oprah-Obama Road Show did not live up to expectations. Despite the contention of organizers that they never expected to fill up Williams-Brice Stadium, it surely must have been a disappointment of sorts to have such a wildly popular TV star on the platform with only 30,000 in attendance.

30,000 in a stadium that seats 80,000 can put a damper on the most rational of expectations. Those empty 50,000 seats can totally engulf and devour such a crowd.

I am not so sure that the Obama people can claim this as a success. After all, this was essentially an Oprah event, and without her Obama would have been speaking to a small crowd in a classroom at the University of South Carolina.

The Oprah-Obama Show Hits the Road

The Oprah-Obama Show, starring Oprah Winfrey and B. Hussein Obama, has hit the road. The pair started in Iowa on Saturday and will make their way to Columbia, South Carolina for a huge rally on Sunday at Williams-Brice Stadium, home of the South Carolina Gamecocks football team at the University of South Carolina.

Williams-Brice Stadium seats over 80,000. The rally originally had been scheduled for the coliseum which seats 18,000 but had to be moved due to the overwhelming response.

Oprah is the most popular woman in America, you know.

Oh, and she's bringing Obama with her too.

Let's get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we? Without Oprah, Barack Obama wouldn't have drawn enough of a crowd to fill a classroom at the University of South Carolina. This rally, therefore, is all about Oprah Winfrey.

Mrs. Clinton is the overwhelming favorite among Democrats in S.C., and there is no real reason to think this will be changing--except for one significant factor according a few Democratic pollsters and pundits.

Oprah is hugely popular among white women over the age of 55. Democratic political consultants think that her endorsement may sway some of these older white women to support Obama.

This is wishful thinking at best.

Many Republican women within this demographic like Oprah Winfrey as well, but there is no way in hell they are going to support or vote for Barack Obama, who basically stands for nothing except for his very public record as a state legislator in Illinois, which shows that he is against the right to keep and bear firearms and that he voted against requiring life-support measures for babies that survive failed abortion attempts.

White women in South Carolina who are age 55 and up may go to a rally to hear B. Hussein Obama if it means they get to see their TV heroine, Oprah Winfrey, but you can bet the farm on the fact that they are NOT going to support Barack Obama.

In addition, Obama has failed to capture the support of the state's Black voters, who overwhelmingly support Mrs. Clinton. Over 52% of Democrats in South Carolina are African-American.

In short, Obama is NOT going to win the state's Democratic primary.

After the Oprah-groupies leave Williams-Brice Stadium tomorrow they will be talking about how exciting it was to see Oprah in person...and wonder why Hillary had to miss the event.

A Few Key Quotes from the Candidates

Fred Thompson heads the list with the most poignant and true-to-the-Founders comment concerning Constitutional rights. Thompson said, 'Rights are not granted by government. Rights are God-given, which government then decides to protect and guarantee.'

Surely Fred should receive accolade upon accolade for advocating what NO ONE besides Ron Paul will dare say--politicians and the Supreme Court do not give rights. Rights are inherent. The Constitution only serves to affirm, protect, and guarantee those rights.

Meanwhile, B. Hussein Obama has been saying out on the stump that he 'deserves a tax increase.' Could it be, O HEAVEN FORBID, that he...(choking with emotion)...made too much money?

Oh, the shame of it, to think that in the United States of America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, someone would actually be so brazen as to actually make too much money in their fulfilling of the American dream!

And of course, we all know that once you commit this unpardonable abomination you must allow government to take most of it away.

Hillary has been making one excuse after another on the healthcare issue. And she has opened up her mouth and let fall out yet another flip-flop.

This woman is one big mass of contradictions. Today's contradiction from Hillary involves husband Bill. Hillary claims she has loads of experience on 'working on healthcare in America,' referring of course to her debacle in 1993.

She wants credit for a debacle--a failure?

Listen, Hildabeast, you can't take credit for something that was a fiasco. You can't expect people to give you accolades for something most view as a disaster.

So, it was husband Bill to the rescue. The quintessential American feminist has to have her husband bail her out of all of her jams. What a bitch.

Bill, thus, stated that the healthcare fiasco of 1993 was HIS fault and not Hillary's.

Methinks Bill has actually started inhaling. The record shows that the healthcare initiative in 1993 was Hillary's baby. Bill let her handle it...entirely. When are people going to start accepting responsibility for their actions? Well, we can never expect that from the Clintons.

And then Bill went on further to put not only both hands, but both feet, AND his hat in his mouth by claiming that 'when the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010 we will have plenty of money to enact a Hillary healthcare plan.'

Oh, so you mean that your wife is going to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, thus creating the largest tax increase in American history, surpassing only the massive tax increase that BILL Clinton gave us?

What a legacy. Two Clintons who each gave us the largest tax increases in the history of the Republic at the time.

That should be enough to get B. Hussein Obama into the Clinton camp. Large tax increases seem to be an aphrodisiac these days for the Illinois Senator. If the lamebrain feels guilty for making too much money, then let HIM give it away himself rather than promoting government confiscation.

Bill Clinton Avoided Jail, Why Not Scooter Libby?

Washington, DC (TLS). President Bush late Monday did the right thing and commuted the sentence of the former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby.

Libby had been sentenced to a jail term of two and a half years after a jury found him guilty of perjury and obstruction in the investigation of the leak of the identity of former covert CIA agent Valerie Plame.

U.S. Prosecuting Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald never charged anyone with a crime in 'outing' Plame.

The charges against Libby had nothing to do with the original 'crime' but were connected to the after-the-fact activity that ensued during the ongoing investigation of the 'crime' of disclosing Plame's identity--which was already known by everyone in the Beltway to begin with.

This sham of an investigation is one that never should have been launched in the first place. It was entirely political and aimed at Vice President Dick Cheney.

The sentence of Scooter Libby was just one more example of a political witch-hunt and the search of a scapegoat. After all, former President Bill Clinton lied to a GRAND jury. He was impeached by the Congress. Yet he never faced jail time. He never received a fine or faced any consequences of his actions other than being disbarred by the Arkansas State Bar.

If Bill Clinton avoided jail, why not Scooter Libby?

Not surprisingly, Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama stated that, 'This is the kind of politics we want to avoid in Washington.'

You mean, like, a Congress that is full of Democrats who are corrupt, such as William Jefferson, Dianne Feinstein, John Conyers, Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, Keith Ellison, Patrick Leahy, oh, and, uhhh, HILLARY CLINTON, just to name a few?

Until your cronies in the Congress clean house, Senator, you have very little moral and ethical authority to stand on in lashing out at the President's actions in commuting the sentence of a man who did nothing more than BILL CLINTON did in court.

And by the way, Hillary Clinton weighed in on Bush's action today, condemning the commuting of the sentence. This is in spite of the convicted felons her own husband pardoned precisely because of their close relationship to the Clintons.

Thus, Hillary's words can be dismissed outright for the hypocrisy on display.

The fact that B. Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton are part of the most corrupt, inept, and unpopular Congress in history should be ample evidence that their opinions about the matter should be dismissed along with the rest of the imbeciles who run the place.

As for Scooter Libby, we all can be grateful that he will not have to endure a politically-motivated sentence that was the result of a witch-hunt.

Barack Obama Takes Swipe at Religious Right

At the annual national meeting of the United Church of Christ, one of the most liberal denominations in the world, Democratic Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama took a swipe at the religious right in a speech before the assembly.

Speaking before an enthusiastically supportive crowd, Obama stated that the religious right had used faith to divide Americans rather than bring us together.

He then used some of the religious right's key issues such as prayer in schools, abortion, and homosexual marriage to lash out at evangelicals, all of which supposedly further proves their 'divisiveness.'

Perhaps we should take a closer look at the beliefs of the United Church of Christ, which supposedly represents the Senator's belief system and faith.

The United Church of Christ (not to be confused with the conservative Churches of Christ) is a mainline Christian denomination that has strayed far from its core doctrines, as have most of the so-called 'mainline' Protestant denominations.

For example, the United Church of Christ (designated as the 'UCC') participates in 'the Jesus Project' and its predecessor 'The Jesus Seminar'--a consortium of ultra-liberal scholars who state not only that Jesus did not speak upwards of 85% of what is attributed to Him in the New Testament, but that Jesus in all likelihood did not even exist as a historical figure.

Thus, I would like to ask the good Senator, which has been more divisive--the fact that millions of evangelicals denounce the slaughter of unborn children, or the fact that his own denomination overtly attacks the faith of millions of Catholics, conservative Protestants, and independent Christians?

In addition, the United Church of Christ is long-known for its support of liberal political initiatives, including denouncing the U.S. military and its use in war, the support for women who choose to have abortions, the opposition to school prayer, in spite of the fact that across the globe and right here in America drastic accommodations are being made to MUSLIMS who wish to pray.

The UCC also openly supports gay marriage and allows openly gay clergy to serve as Pastors of its churches.

Do they have a right to these views? Of course they do. This is a free country, and any group, religious, private, or otherwise, has the right to make its own rules and endorse whatever lifestyle or set of beliefs it wishes.

But this is not the point. B. Hussein Obama said that evangelical Christianity is divisive because it supports a traditional view of marriage, denounces the removal of corporate prayer from schools as an anti-Christian motivated tactic, and supports those policies in society and in government that uphold and honor the sacredness of human life.

Perhaps the good Senator also thinks that evangelicals are divisive because they insist that Jesus Christ was a real person and that the Bible is to be taken seriously as the definitive authority on faith for Christians.

Thus, when you hear B. Hussein Obama, Presidential candidate for the Democrats, speak about those awful members of the religious right, remember that this is the man that voted AGAINST allowing medical care and life-support to be given to babies who survive botched abortion attempts.

The man has ZERO credibility when it comes to matters of faith.

And it is highly doubtful that the UCC can call itself 'Christian' with integrity.
