Where Was Media on the Van Jones Debacle?

That is the question of the day. Only now that Jones has resigned have the moguls of the state-run, mainstream media suddenly decided to take notice of this self-avowed Communist.

Read the details on this case of blatant media malpractice at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Thank God for bloggers, online news sources, conservative talk radio, Fox News, and Glenn Beck!

Sobering Thoughts on Newspaper Bailouts

The bill introduced in Congress to bail out failing newspapers with tax dollars is a terrible idea for several reasons.

These reasons are discussed in my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Thanks in advance for reading it.

Mainstream Media Comes to Blago's Defense

'I mean, come on, what's the big deal here?'--reporter Jim Lehrer of the PBS 'News Hour', when speaking about the massive corruption of Governor Rod Blagojevich and the Illinois political machine.

'This is just the way the world works.'--'Meet the Press' host David Gregory and a guest, when discussing the Blago-scandal.

NPR's Robert Siegel interviewed Chicago Sun-Times reporter Laura Washington, who seemed 'astonished' at Blogojevich's 'stupidity', when merely one month ago she reported that if Blago was anything he was clearly 'not stupid'--the subtle suggestion, of course, that stupidity is a valid excuse for being corrupt as a gangster.

And naturally, the mainstream media has broken its back trying to portray Obama as 'distancing himself' from Blagojevich repeatedly, when we all know by now that his top adviser met at least once with Blago to discuss possible replacements for Obama's Senate seat.

I will be candid with you. I thought the MSM had descended about as far as it could go with its blatant cheerleading for Obama during the campaign. I was wrong.

As bad as that was, this is infinitely worse--making excuses for a corrupt politician who wanted to sell a Senate seat to the highest bidder.

Had only Richard Nixon been so fortunate in 1974 to have the entire news industry on his side, making excuses for his lapses in ethics....

I say every single one of the bums who made these statements in support of Blagojevich should be immediately fired on the spot.

And yes, they are bums.

To refer to them as 'reporters' is a tragic joke.

Too Late--LA Times Notices Obama Weaknesses

After the election, of course, the Los Angeles Times finally decides that it notices glaring weaknesses in Barack Obama's credentials for the Presidency.

This News Busters article will tell you all about it.

The LA Times and the mainstream media as a whole had ample opportunity, indeed a responsibility, to inform the public of Obama's very weak resume for the job BEFORE the election.

This they deliberately failed to do and instead took on a cheerleading role for the most liberal member of the Senate and the most ill-prepared Presidential candidate in decades.

But now, after the election, one by one the mainstream media outlets are informing the public of Obama's weaknesses. Why so late? And why now?
