Did Jessie Jackson sacrifice himself in order to help Barack Obama's campaign? What if Jackson's off-the-microphone remarks were planned? What if he wanted everyone to think he despises Obama so much that he wishes to 'take him off at the nuts'?
Remember that one of the central staples of the Hillary Clinton campaign was to scare white people away from Obama. Bill was usually the 'bad cop' in this ploy as he stated again and again that Barack never does well with key Caucasian groups he needs to win and that he does well only in those states with large African-American populations.
The express intent of this political strategy is to create fear in the minds of Caucasian voters, particularly white women.
But the thing is, the one nationally-known Black figure that Caucasians fear and detest outside of Al Sharpton is Jessie Jackson. And if Jackson of all people hints that he despises Obama because Obama isn't 'talking the talk' Black folk like to hear, then what better way to scare white people, not away from Obama but toward Obama?
If Caucasians are led to believe that Obama is unacceptable to people like Jackson, then perhaps some of them would not be so reluctant to support him.
Make no mistake, people like Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, and Jessie Jackson would LOVE for a Black Man to be President, despite any personal jealousy they may have.
The issue, however, is not race primarily. The issue is the type of 'hope' and 'change' Obama would usher in--a total revamping of the nature of this country from top to bottom. This has been the goal of Leftists all along, and a bad case of personal jealousy is not going to prevent them from doing anything possible to secure a victory.
And thus, don't count out the possibility that Jackson planned the whole thing.

A Different Perspective on Paris Hilton
Washington, DC (TLS). Do I think Paris Hilton is a spoiled brat? Yes. Do I think she is totally self-absorbed and tends to drag others down into the abyss with her? Yes. Do I like her? No.
But I also believe that persons should be treated equally under the law.
Apparently Paris Hilton has been treated more HARSHLY than most!
That's right. According to the County Sheriff where Paris was arrested, normally persons with similar charges are released from jail after serving 10% of their sentence. In Hilton's case, that would be FOUR DAYS.
Yet the Judge in his almighty wisdom decided that such a break would NOT be given to Paris Hilton, in spite of the fact that others get that break. In fact, what the Sheriff stated must be true, or else the Judge would not have found it necessary to specifically forbid Hilton from being released early on house arrest with a monitoring device--like others who are charged similarly.
Thus, Al Sharpton, being the disgusting demagogue that he is, has it exactly BACKWARDS. Most prisoners under these circumstances are released after serving only 10% of their sentence. But Paris was specifically ordered by the Judge to serve the ENTIRETY of hers!
Yes, it seems we have class warfare in this country...the 'have-nots' hate the 'haves' and wish for them to be treated more harshly than others.
And yes, the criminal justice system in this nation is a joke. O.J. Simpson walks scott free for murder, Scooter Libby is sent to the slammer for 2 and a half years for committing no crime, and Paris Hilton has to serve her ENTIRE sentence in jail rather than get the break all other prisoners get.
Geezzz. I think I am living in la-la land. The country has gone ape-nuts.

If You Think Don Imus is Bad...
Orangeburg, SC (TLS). Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would like for us to think that Don Imus, conservative talk radio, and white people in general are to blame for bigoted comments about race.
It begs mentioning here that Don Imus is NOT a conservative, nor is he part of 'conservative talk radio.' He never has been. He supported John Kerry for President and has been a staunch opponent of the War in Iraq. Various and sundry quack news organizations have put out the word that Imus is 'conservative' to make the rest of us look bad. So now you know.
A dyed-in-the-wool liberal Democrat uttered those despicable terms on national radio!
But if you think Don Imus is bad, take a look at this!
In Orangeburg, South Carolina, the setting for South Carolina State University, a musical group came to the campus for a rap-fest. The shocking part of the story is not just what was said in the lyrics of the songs performed by the group, but what students had to say about it.
Talk about double-standards!
In one song alone the 'n' word was used over 100 times!

Jimmie 'J.J.' Walker Unleashed on Imus Affair
Washington, DC (TLS). Former TV star Jimmie 'J.J.' Walker minces no words in his take on opportunists such as Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson and their hypocritical denunciation of Don Imus.
While it is true that Imus needed to be denounced for many various reasons, not the least of which is his penchant for referring to human beings in the most bigoted of terms, Sharpton and Jackson are hardly the ones to do it with any integrity. Both have said much worse, particularly Sharpton.
