Obama, Congress give citizens backhanded Christmas gift

The key phrase in the above quote is "because there are provisions that will make it easier for the government to target those who disagree," the implications of which are dire. Those who openly disagree with government policy can more easily be targeted by the administrative branch, particularly the Department of Defense.

Further, it is no accident that a federal judge ruled Friday that the NSA spying program on American citizens is legal and constitutional.

Governor shows off Christmas gift -- a gun

Rarely does a sitting governor of a state show off Christmas gifts to the public. Even more rarely does a sitting governor show off a gift when that gift was a gun.

But this is one of the many reasons Gov. Nikki Haley, R-S.C., is unique.

Several news organizations reported that today Haley wrote on her Facebook page that Santa brought her a gift of a new handgun -- a pistol, a Beretta PX4 Storm.

Christmas Day, 2013

I hope and pray for a warm and meaningful Christmas for all of you.

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, laying in a manger." -- from the Gospel of Luke.

The piece above is performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in collaboration with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Eugene Ormandy, conductor. It comes from the Columbia Records complete recording of Handel's Messiah.

Ah, yes...

Christmas celebration

I know of no better musical celebration of Christmas than the traditional piece "O Sanctissima" by The Philadelphia Orchestra, Eugene Ormandy, conductor.

I can't say enough about this piece it is so beautiful, overwhelming, in fact. This is what we came to expect from the Philadelphians under Ormandy...those lush strings, and that full sound, a sound that has never been replicated.

This piece formed the basis of the song, "The Bells of St. Mary's" as sung by Bing Crosby in the 1940s movie by the same title, starring Crosby and the wonderful Ingrid Bergman. The piece is short, only a little over 3 minutes. Enjoy...

Holiday watchman

Hello, folks, and Merry Christmas to you all. I will post something special for you in just a bit, in order to better commemorate this special day.

I will be working this holiday season, taking time off here and there, but still at the helm throughout the watches of the night. Consider me to be your friendly watchman, looking out for your interests during the holidays.

As time progresses, holidays are increasingly fraught with danger. What better time for tyrants to act and strike against us than during those periods when we least expect it?

So, I will be here watching, monitoring the movements of the malevolent. If there is something of urgent importance you need know about, I will issue an alert. But, barring anything of great significance, just relax and have a very meaningful Christmas.

Just know that I and many others are watching for you. You could call us "holiday watchmen."

Freedom fighters launch 'Toys for Totalitarians'

Excerpt:
Several of the Founding Fathers, including Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Mason, and others stated and wrote in no uncertain terms that when the government they devised ceased to follow the guidelines set forth in the Constitution, that such lawlessness meant that the government had lost its moral authority to govern. At that point citizens are not obligated to obey such government.

We are at that point today with the relentless march of abject lawlessness exhibited by Obama and his administration, Congress, and the courts. If there is any moral mandate, it is to disobey.

Gun permit confidentiality addressed in court decision

As a means of punishing gun owners many media outlets, newspapers in particular, have published the names of concealed carry permit holders who live within their coverage area. In some instances addresses were provided with the names, along with maps pinpointing where the gun owners live.

Some states have laws that forbid such haphazard handling of personal information. Other states subsequently passed laws that keep this information confidential...

Fast and Furious scandal receives renewed attention

(Notice. The part of this story referring to Attkisson's new information was found to be in error. Upon review the tweet she sent out concerning such new information referred to Obamacare and not the Fast and Furious scandal. This has been corrected in the text of the story at the Examiner. My apologies).
When the U.S. House of Representatives conducted its investigation into the Fast and Furious scandal, it appeared that a dead end had been reached when the Obama administration and Attorney General Eric Holder in particular refused to turn over subpoenaed documents and answer questions fully and truthfully.

The result was that Holder was held in contempt of Congress, a first for any Attorney General. And the investigation into the scandal was placed on the back burner due to the fact that the administration refused to provide material that was necessary for a thorough and complete investigation.
