Ahead--Black Monday, 2011?

As legions of conservative pundits and economists warned when Congress and Obama approved the laughable 'debt deal' this week, Standard and Poor proceeded to downgrade America's credit rating last evening. Nothing in the debt deal would prevent such a downgrade--the first in U.S. history--nor adequately address the source of U.S. economic woes, which is unbridled, runaway government spending.
Barack Obama and the Democrats have increased America's debt by 35% in just 3 years. And the very day after Congress approved the debt bill, the government proceeded to spend 60% of the amount of increase in the debt ceiling. The ceiling was raised by over 2 trillion dollars on Tuesday. On Wednesday the government blew multi-billions of dollars. By Thursday stocks tumbled to the lowest consecutive sessional loss since the Jimmy Carter Administration. And by Friday evening Standard and Poor lowered our credit rating.
But what, exactly, does this mean for the average citizen?
It means plenty, and it's not good.
America could well be headed for a dreaded 'black Monday' on August 8...

Progressives attempt to pin Norwegian massacre on a blogger

Taking a page out of the playbook of American progressives who routinely blame conservatives and the Tea Party for every single act of violence in the country, the Leftwing Norwegian press and blogosphere are attempting to pin the Anders Breivik massacre on a blogger whom they have identified as 'rightwing.'
Such accusations have sent the blogger into hiding.
Prolific essayist and blogger 'Fjordman', whose real name is Peter Jensen, had been accused of being the perpetrator in the Norway shootings by the American and European press. But when it was discovered that the killer was Anders Breivik, the press continued to badger Fjordman but shifted the focus by accusing him of being Breivik's 'inspiration.'
According to Andrew G. Bostrom at The American Thinker, the motivation for pinning the shootings on a blogger is clear:

Listen for the Sound

Today's devotional thought is up at the ministry site.

You can access it here: Martin Christian Ministries

As always, thanks for visiting the ministry site, and God bless.

I suppose you are aware by now that the economy is in deep doo doo, especially after today's stock market crash

The stock market lost over 500 points today, making this the 9th straight session of declines.

Oh, and by the way, the last time we had this kind of losing streak was during...ahem...cough...the Administration of James Earl Carter, 1976-1981.

Over in Europe there are dire warnings that the strongest of the nations of the EU are in grave danger of complete economic collapse. And as for China? You know, that big red machine over in the East that holds a great portion of our debt? They are in trouble as well, suffering from a severe drought and their own employment troubles.

Do you see where this is all headed? I have not been calling this 'the Obama Depression' for nothing...

All guns and politics, from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Mike Vanderboegh muses on the Issa hearings concerning ATF Gunwalker, and none other than 'Nappy'--DHS Director Janet Napolitano. Mike explores 'the road not taken.'

David Codrea warns not to trust the media for info on gun rights news. The 'authorized journalists' are known for exceedingly sloppy reporting, especially in this area.

Kurt Hofmann suggests that the right to keep and bear arms in Illinois is for country folk only. Yep. And sooner than later they will come after the country folk too. There is no place to hide in this world anymore if you love freedom. America is our last stand. We either achieve it here, or we're done.

Alphecca points to a perfect example of what I am talking about in my last statement. Want to buy a handgun in Canada, or merely OWN one? Good luck!

Tam reports on the mass hysteria following a call by a few students to campus police stating that they saw a man who 'might' be carrying 'something' that 'may be' a gun. Sheesh.

Standing By says that 'hard history is coming.' Yep, my friend, that is an understatement.

Nicki has a video she entitles, 'The Budget for Dummies.' Good stuff!

Mike McCarville reports on the legal challenges to Obama's new gun control regulations.

Days of our Trailers declares that the 'barbarians are at the gates.' I agree. A must-read!

Every Blade of Grass posts an important reminder that NAILS it. Go look.

New ATF bombshell--was cocaine from cartels allowed in U.S.?

In the ongoing investigation into the DOJ-ATF-Obama Administration gun smuggling scandal that is the subject of Congressional hearings, a possible new bombshell has been revealed today indicating that federal agents may have deliberately allowed the Sinaloa Mexican drug cartel to bring cocaine into the United States.
The official reason given by the Feds is that the cocaine would be 'traced' in order to gather information on rival drug cartels.
According to El Paso Times news reporter Diana Washington Valdez, if the latest allegations prove to be true, then the case would be a bombshell on the same par with the ATF gun smuggling scheme known as 'Project Gunwalker' or 'Operation Fast and Furious.'

The ATF made illegal straw purchases of American firearms at U.S. gun stores and 'walked' the guns across the border into Mexico, placing them into the hands of the Mexican drug cartels. Many believe that the ultimate reason for the scheme was to artificially bolster statistics that would 'prove' the Obama Administration's contention that U.S. firearms are arming the cartels, and to make a case for massive new gun control laws.

Rush: "Everything we've had for the last 20 years is fake"

In a stunning epiphany that caught even his staunchest supporters by surprise, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh stated yesterday that "everything we've had for the last 20 years is fake."
Rush proceeded to describe his own journey of denial concerning the debt and said that the recent national debate over raising the debt ceiling has caused him to realize the cold, hard facts--America, the government, business, and citizens, ALL of us--have been living on borrowed money for the past 20 years.
And it is only getting worse. The debt deal reached by Obama and Congress this week is a joke for the simple fact that it purports to help solve the debt crisis by borrowing more money--2.7 trillion more.
Which financial advisor has ever told you or someone you know who has severe debt issues that the only way to solve their addiction to borrowing is to go further in debt?
Here are Rush's words from the transcripts of show:

ALERT--Fiscal Conservatives Barred from the New 'SuperCongress'!

The leviathans have just struck again. Fiscals conservatives who are the only ones with a sane plan to rescue America from the coming financial collapse have been banned from serving on this new super committee of Congress that was formed to address the debt.

Why?

The answer should be obvious to all.

Those who are not fiscal conservatives do not want real solutions. They only want to continue spending America into oblivion, enslaving all future generations with a load of debt they will NEVER be able to repay.

Hang 'em all.

No Condemnation

The 2A Roundup--Top Ten for Tuesday, August 2, 2011

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

WRSA points to a must-read on 'tyranny on the installment plan.'

Gun Owners of America issues a red alert on the possibility that the new 'Super Congress' created by the 'debt deal' will impose massive new gun control.

Pamela Geller, America's foremost voice against Islamic Jihad, posts a series of hate mail messages she received after the Norway massacre--typical progressive smears and attempts to link Patriots to the barbarian.

Days of our Trailers has an important question for 'PEG-heads.' Read it.

GunRights4US muses on the fact that Congress and Obama are just kicking the can a little further down the road.

The Stiletto provides excellent reading on 'metaphorical madness.'

Traction Control posts essential reading entitled, 'To Counter the Violence of Liberal Mobs, Overreact.'

Denninger reports that global markets are plummeting today. Go figure. And we all were told that by simply approving the raising of the debt ceiling, the entire world would be saved from unmitigated catastrophe. Hint--that catastrophe is coming anyway. Read it all.

Suffolk County Liberty Report has a stinging assessment of the debt vote in Congress--the wreckage of self-inflicted disaster.

Mark America alerts us to the bipartisan war on the Tea Party and Sarah Palin, conducted by the elitist leadership structure in both the Democrat and Republican parties.

NYT--Tea Party wages jihad; Biden--Tea Partiers are terrorists

Yesterday a New York Times op-ed columnist stated that the Tea Party is 'waging jihad on the American people.' On the very same day, Vice-President Joe Biden stated that Tea Partiers are like terrorists.
Why would the Vice-President of the United States and a columnist for what was once the most influential newspaper in the country use such explosive language to defame and attempt to stigmatize multi-millions of Americans who not only demonstrated their significant power in the midterm elections of 2010 but set the terms of the debate over the national debt?
This is not the first time such language has been used to smear conservatives.
Ironically, the appearance of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, on the House floor last evening to cast a vote in favor of the compromise debt ceiling bill symbolizes the very problem. While all decent Americans can celebrate her dramatic recovery from a potentially lethal gunshot wound, her Democrat colleagues in Congress, the media, and Leftwing pundits used her terrible misfortune to accuse Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, the Tea Party, and the conservative movement as a whole of being co-conspirators in her assassination attempt. They claimed that the rhetoric used by conservatives was singularly responsible for the carnage caused by one deranged perpetrator.

Don't Work? Then You Don't Eat

That is the title of my latest devotional at the ministry site.

And those words come directly from the Bible. They are not my words.

Read about it at Martin Christian Ministries.

It is time to take a spiritual assessment of the current debate in the nation about the debt, entitlement programs, and the like. Many may not like what they read, but it is the truth as I see it, and as the Bible teaches it plain as day.

Tell your freshman GOP congressmen to vote NO on debt compromise

Folks, this 'compromise' plan reached by Obama, Reid, and Boehner is s sham. A farce. It cuts nothing. And even then, the so-called 'cuts' (which are nothing more than reductions in INCREASES already built in) will not take effect until 2013.

But Obama gets a debt ceiling increase of 2.8 trillion that he can spend immediately.

Now, what kind of a 'deal' is that?

The plan, bluntly, is an outrage, and all Patriots should pressure their GOP reps in Congress to vote NO on the deal. Plain as that. And if the Tea Party freshman can't understand plain English, they can easily be voted out in 2012.

The 2A Roundup--Top Ten for Monday, August 1, 2011

All guns and politics, from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

David Codrea has written an open letter to the ATF concerning the possibility that .50 BMG upper conversions  will be reclassified as firearms.

Kurt Hofmann posts the latest explosive updates on the ATF-DOJ-Obama Administration gun trafficking scandal.

Mike Vanderboegh provides an exclusive report concerning Bill O'Reilly and the Obama White House staffer who was emailing Bill Newell in Phoenix concerning Project Gunwalker.

Way Up North has the must-read quote of the day on the national debt.

Brigid shares a pictorial lesson on 'happiness' and 'extermination.'

Days of our Trailers announces winter surplus gear and clothing for sale.

Around O-Town wonders how people like Dianne Feinstein, D-California, got to be such an 'expert' on assault weapons, particularly when it comes to their legislation banning them.

Alphecca sends out a RED alert that the 'right to carry' may be the next target in the courts.

Tam posts a must-read on the creeping crawl of the big government nanny state that has kicked up into high gear, encroaching on freedoms in places one would not imagine a few short years ago. Yep, and the lamebrained masses are allowing it to happen.

Newbius nails it as he calls attention to the latest in 'PoliSpeak'--the double-talk of politicians.

A simple overview of debt compromise plan

In an announcement that came last evening, the Obama White House and Congressional leaders announced a debt compromise solution that both sides say they can support. However, there is significant dissent in the ranks both among conservative Republicans and liberal Democrats. The simple overview of the debt compromise plan provided below will illustrate the reason for the conservative dissent.
Via Karl Denninger at Market Ticker, the plan does the following:

Bloody resistance vs. bloody aggression--a difficult concept?

Progressive puerility has reared its ugly head yet again as wild charges and false accusations have followed in the wake of yesterday's article concerning why a bloody civil war is inevitable. The pompous pimps of progressive propaganda appear to have severe reading comprehension deficiencies, particularly when it comes to the vast difference between 'bloody resistance to tyranny' and 'bloody aggression.' This is not a difficult concept. The first phrase denotes defense--defending one's safety, liberty, and security with force if necessary, while the second denotes the aggressors who make a 'bloody defense' necessary.
That difference appears to be totally lost on the amebic nebula of the nefarious numbskulls of the neo-Nazi Left.
One person offered the following in response to the concepts presented in yesterday's article...
