A message of hope for you.

Read it at Martin Christian Ministries.

God bless you, my friend, and thanks for reading.

About the Tampa-to-Honduras gun smuggling scandal--multi-agencies involved pointing to high level approval

The news that ATF agents in Tampa, Florida have been caught running U.S. guns to Honduras brings up an issue that is central to the entire gun smuggling scheme of the ATF--the illegal plan is so widespread, involving multiple agencies of the federal government, that only the tacit approval at the highest levels of government could set such a program into motion.

This brings us squarely to Eric Holder and Barack Obama.

Only the highest levels of government could coordinate and approve a plan that would be implemented across a broad spectrum--including the State Department and the FBI, in addition to the Department of Justice and its bureau, the ATF.

In fact, I would go as far as to postulate the assumption that in order for this to be carried out, Holder, the FBI director, the ATF acting director, and Hillary Clinton at State would more than likely have been involved in high level meetings with Barack Obama himself, not necessarily to discuss the details of the scheme but to lay out the broad aspects of it.

So, stay tuned. There will most certainly be much more of this to come. The scoundrels have been caught with their pants down in this more than once, and a growing chorus is demanding an in-depth investigation--one in which the Administration fully cooperates rather than engaging in stonewalling.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

David Codrea reports explosive news that the Gunwalker scandal has vastly broadened--as in guns to Honduras via Tampa ATF!

Mike Vanderboegh, who helped David Codrea in breaking this story, asks, 'Why would ATF walk guns to Honduras?' Read for the answer.

'Constitution 2020'--a blueprint for tyranny?

Yesterday's article focused on the threat to the Constitution posed by progressives who have launched a new initiative entitled, 'The Constitution in 2020.'  A new book by the same name, along with its companion website, Constitution2020.org., contains the progressive vision for the future of the U.S. Constitution in matters related to individual rights, citizenship, the southern border, 'personhood,' and a curiously-worded question, 'Who "counts" as American?' and, 'What kind of law "counts" as American?'
These issues have already been settled. The Constitution specifies who 'counts' as American, and it isn't the vision of progressives who push for open borders and open citizenship to every Tom, Dick, and Harry who applies. And as to the question concerning what kind of law 'counts' as American, the Constitution itself is the foundational basis of American law and contains the principles that formulate the ultimate and authoritative law of the land.
However, in the minds of progressives these issues have not been settled due to the fact that in their thinking the Constitution is an evolving document that is always subject to the shifting sands of political and cultural thought, except in those instances where the literal wording and original intent suit their purposes.
Such individuals know that a formal attempt to enact multiple changes to the Constitution, or to create a new one, would be met with heavy opposition. Thus, their tactic is not to attempt such a formal change but to tweak the definition of terms so that, for example, 'individual rights' include social and economic 'justice' and redistribution of wealth.

Cheerfulness

The new devotional for the day is up at the ministry site.

It is entitled, 'Cheerfulness,' and you can find it here: Martin Christian Ministries.

Thanks for reading, and may God bless.

Progressives planning intense assault on Constitution

Since the Presidential campaign of 2008 conservatives have complained that the U.S. Constitution has been under assault by progressives who view the document as a roadblock to the implementation of their goals. Obama stated that the Constitution is flawed because it restricts government power to encroach on the individual rights of citizens, and that a corrective is needed to positively state what the government can do.
In the years since Obama was elected, this criticism of the Constitution has morphed into a full frontal assault.
The 10th Amendment has been ripped to shreds as the Federal government has encroached on the power of the states to chart their own course, within the limits specified in the amendment. The 2nd Amendment has been attacked as the Feds attempted to make a case for massive new gun control laws by staging an illegal scheme to run guns to Mexico in order to pad statistics which would then show that the U.S. is arming the drug cartels. The Commerce Clause in Article One, Section 8, Clause 3 was erroneously used as justification for passing the mammoth government takeover of healthcare, when in fact, the clause does nothing but give Congress the power to regulate commerce between the states, foreign nations, and 'Indian tribes.'
Nothing in the clause gives the federal government the power to force citizens to buy anything.

Now Booking for July and August

I am putting this here because, well, I get more readers here than over at the ministry site.

Anyway, I am now booking for July and August. For what, you ask?

Why, singing, of course!

I am peddling my new CD of Christian music, and I would love to come to your church or meeting to sing. Yes, I do full concerts on a free, love-offering basis for churches. Music is my first love, even before politics. I would climb Mt. Everest just to get to sing.

Soooo, take a look at the announcement over at the ministry site: Martin Christian Ministries. And, as they say, 'Thank you for your continued support.'

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet!

Mike Vanderboegh reports that 'the new American gestapo' has hit the road. A MUST-read.

WRSA points to a piece on 'action.' Another must-read!

Line in the Desert has a great story highlighting the vast difference between LEGAL immigration and illegal aliens, using Arizona as an example.

Standing By reports that a bill to allow concealed carry in restaurants has failed once again in North Carolina, I am sorry to say.

Newbius comments on the fact that crime in Chicago has skyrocketed despite having some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation.

Tam blogs on an important aspect of gun safety. Take a look!

GunRights4US says it's getting harder and harder to celebrate July 4, given that Washington has turned into an oppressor.

Every Blade of Grass alerts us to a disgusting video in which a famous politician stated, 'It takes a long time to control the people.'

Around O-Town asks that we take a close look at how the experts are dealing with the threat from terrorism and illegal immigration.

CLO declares that it is time to shut down the ATF. I heartily agree!

A Nation of Imbeciles?

According to the latest published survey of the proficiency level of American students, the U.S. may well be on its way to becoming a nation of imbeciles. The vast majority of students, including high school and college, could not pass the citizenship test given to immigrants who have applied to become citizens. And U.S. History is by far the worst subject for students in public schools.
Only 12% of high school seniors are proficient in U.S. History.
Most students cannot identify the country from which America declared its independence in 1776. Most cannot name 3 of the 4 rights described in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Most do not understand the purpose behind the Bill of Rights nor can they describe the key concept of 'checks and balances' between the 3 branches of government. And the vast majority do not know that Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence.
What, exactly, is the root cause of such widespread ignorance?

Jefferson's Declaration

In the years leading up to the history-altering events of July 4, 1776, public sentiment had been building in the British colonies of America to separate themselves from the monarchy of the King of England. Acts of rebellion such as the Boston Tea Party indicated that the colonies no longer considered the British Empire to be legitimate, at least in America, with its tendency to engage in oppressive policies that stoked the anger of citizens.
As tensions grew, a young Thomas Jefferson was tapped to put such sentiments into words in a formal document so that the Continental Congress could debate its specific features.
Jefferson closed himself up in a room, in immense heat, to hammer out the document in June of 1776.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

May God bless America and keep her FREE!

Denninger--Treasury defaulted on the debt June 30

With all of the hysterics and fear-mongering in which the Obama Administration has engaged concerning the dire need for raising the debt ceiling, including the 'Chicken Little' alarmists with their 'the sky is falling' alarm bells that the U.S. will default on its debt unless the ceiling is raised, one would think that the muddle-headed minions of the Marxist mafia would keep a close eye on such matters. After all, they have made themselves out to be the guardians of America's good credit standing, which has been shot to pieces anyway with our unsustainable debt load.
However, according to Market guru Karl Denninger of 'Market Ticker,' the Treasury actually defaulted on the debt on June 30, 2011--last Thursday--in a deliberate, strategic move. The result was an artificial boost in the stock market.

What Fox loses with Glenn Beck's departure

By now most connoisseurs of cable news programs know that conservative commentator Glenn Beck ended his career at Fox News on Thursday of this week. Was Beck fired? Although much speculation has ensued that suggests exactly that, the only verified facts are that his contract was up at Fox, his staff was tired of the daily grind of jumping through hoops to produce a show that had to be pre-approved by executives, and the commentator himself was weary of merely talking about problems rather than actually doing something to solve them.
In short, Beck wanted to be involved in hands-on solutions, and he wanted his commentary to be completely under his own control. This desire is fulfilled in his new venture, GBTV
But the Fox New Channel loses a significant edge with the loss of Glenn Beck.

Cognitive dissonance? Obama's contradictions

According to the Random House Dictionary, the term 'cognitive dissonance' means 'anxiety that results from simultaneously holding contradictory or otherwise incompatible attitudes and beliefs.' Cognitive dissonance is also a medical term meaning 'psychological conflict resulting from simultaneously held incongruous beliefs and attitudes,' according to Merriam Webster's Medical Dictionary.
Are Barack Obama's blatant contradictions, often occurring within the same sentence, indicative of cognitive dissonance?
Only a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist could make such a diagnosis from a medical standpoint. But as an observable phenomenon in one's speech and attitudes--apart from any attempt to make a medical diagnosis--one could reasonably conclude that the President regularly engages in such a disconnect.
