A reporter asked U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, D-Louisiana, if there was anything in the Constitution that allowed Congress to mandate that citizens purchase something, in this case healthcare insurance.
Landrieu, in a condescending tone, stated to the reporter, 'We have an entire team of lawyers in Congress who will decide that issue. I will defer the question to the lawyers.'
Perhaps someone should inform the Village Idiot that you don't need a team of lawyers to come to the conclusion that the Constitution does not give Congress such power. That is readily apparent to anyone who can read.
Of course, this is the very same Village Idiot who was bought off by the Democratic leadership to the tune of at least 100 million bucks in order to secure her vote in favor of the government takeover of healthcare.
