Bill Quietly Becomes Law That Forbids Opposition! (UPDATE)

Note: Scroll down for an important update!

Have you ever heard of legislation in the United States of America that forbids any opposition to it?

Well, we now have it, and it is the law of the land, courtesy of the thugs in the White House and Congress.

Read all about it in my column at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Thank-you.

Update notice! I went to the Thomas site and downloaded the entire bill from top to bottom so that I could examine it myself. Indeed, the amendment that prevented opposition was included in the final document as a provision to prevent employees in these agencies from engaging in partisan political activity while on the job. I stand corrected.

Well..? You, me, Fred, heck I can't begin to name everyone that has posted about this and other monstrosities pushed upon us, or snuck through and passed into law.

I call it being Lautenberged, after the Lautenberg shenanigan that made ex post facto law the law of the land. Plus, since we have already protested these things I suppose we are all felons now too!

Perhaps now folks will understand why, years ago, I tried to get people to stop using the "Law abiding citizen" phrase. See just how easy it is to change laws, and your legal status?

I think that we need to pound the living hell out of this one! In fact, I'm going to steal it! With citation of course.

Patrick, some friends pointed out to be that the provision forbidding opposition is directed at organizations eligible for the program.

But the wording is fairly broad. I just don't trust the present powers-that-be with it.

Also, apparently the original language of the bill concerning uniforms was deleted in the final form. Still, the fact that it was there shows the real motivation of those who pushed this bill.

Broad means that the devils are in the details.

Yes, the intentions are more than clear, and it still forbids opposition. That friend, is a camels nose under the tent, and we both know it.

I looked at the bill text (http://tr.im/jD5G) and the prohibitions only apply to people on the govt dole in this program while "on the clock".

I'll take a look. The specific wording of the amendment I cited does not specify this, though.

OK, I downloaded the entire bill and it is as you say, Mr. Starr.

Apparently the amendment that was passed was inserted into the bill in the form of this directive which prevents a person employed in this endeavor from engaging in partisan political activity as part of the job.

I stand corrected.

I read the actual amendment myself. While there are those stating it is intended to mean that "employees" or "volunteers" can't use their positions to protest - if you read the Amendments section - House Amendment 49 - that is not what it says. It says that organizations, as a whole, cannot protest or oppose this legislation. I will be very interested to see how this gets interpreted in the end and how ACORN will use it.

Bobo,

You are correct. That is precisely what it says. But people I trust assure me it only has to do with employees on company time.

The real test, as you say, is how it is all interpreted. It bears very close scrutiny.

Thanks for stopping by CLO Mr. Starr, and thanks for calling me "friend" Anthony.

As I said, I think this is a camels nose situation, and the way I read the bill and amendments it is not restricted only to people while "on the job." Like Bobo said there most likely is more to this than meets the eye. Get it vetted from a friendly court or two and you have a precedent ruling. Think it can't happen?
GOA reported that local governments were using the DV act to deny Second Amendment rights for old traffic tickets. As in, unalienable rights can be taken for less than felony behaviors, even infractions.

See where I'm going with this?

So what are we doing to fix this & the rest of this mess we're in?????

Short of a revolution, we must keep the pressure on Congress and Obama by watching every move and screaming to high heaven about their infractions...just like we did over the infamous DHS memo from Napolitano.

Then we have to prepare to oust most of Congress in 2010...all but a handful of patriots must go.

After that, launch impeachment hearings against Obama. He needs to be ousted from office over his 'high crimes and misdemeanors' in trashing, ignoring, and seeking to subvert the Constitution.

That's should be enough to keep us busy.

Oh, and let's not forget to be ready for a massive citizen resistance movement should the Obama jack booted thugs attempt to take our guns, ammo, or property.
