Reagan Was Right--Star Wars Technology Is Here

Washington, DC (TLS). Shocking news has reached the United States late today as China announced that it had shot down a 4 ft. wide obsolete satellite with a missile shot from earth. The satellite was over 500 miles above the earth's surface, proving that China now possesses 'Star Wars' technology that President Ronald Reagan proposed that the U.S. develop 20 years ago during the midst of the Cold War.

In the early to mid 1980s, President Reagan had made it his top priority to bring down the Communist Soviet Union by building up our military capability to the point that the Russians could not keep up, given their mounting economic woes. Their attempt to match Reagan's massive military build-up eventually broke the backs of the Communists, resulting in the disintegration of the Soviet Union. Prior to that disintegration, Reagan had proposed a visionary, futuristic program of missiles in space that would provide the United States with a 'defensive shield' should a nuclear attack be launched against us. The technology Reagan proposed would involve sophisticated monitoring systems that would detect and intercept missiles before they could reach their target. The missiles would then be shot down in space using our own 'Star Wars' missiles, far above the earth and well out of danger.

Democrats had a field day with Reagan. So did the mainstream media. They mocked, ridiculed, and denigrated the President for suggesting such a preposterous idea. His proposal was also fodder for late-night comedians on network TV.

Now let's see who is the real joke.

While the United States laughed at and ridiculed its President for proposing a bold, visionary step that would greatly enhance our security in a dangerous world, Communist China went to work to develop such technology.

The result? Communist China now possesses 'Star Wars' technology that poses a major threat to U.S. satellites and information systems that orbit the globe in space.

The fact that the Communists now have a leg up on the United States in the development of this technology only shows how silly, shortsighted, and outright stupid Reagan's detractors were when he first proposed the system back in the 1980s. Some of these very clowns are still serving in Congress today, and some of their comrades in the mainstream media are still there filling the minds of American citizens with their usual propaganda.

I would post the names of those who vilified Reagan for his proposal, but I will leave it to you, the reader, to figure that out. It is not difficult. Just look at who has served in Congress the longest on the Democrat side, and look at veteran news reporters who were on the scene 20 years ago.

Just remember, when it comes time to fix the blame for this unnerving development, look no further than the Democrats and the mainstream media.
