The Liberty Sphere Blacklist--SENATE TRAITORS!

Washington, DC (TLS). As promised earlier today, The Liberty Sphere will publish the names of elected officials in the Senate and House who vote to place unnecessary and highly subversive restrictions on liberty. The Senate voted 55-43 to strip the new ethics reform bill of its provision to make criminals out of those of us who encourage citizens to contact their lawmakers concerning pending legislation.

Democrats had vowed to keep the ominous Section 220 in the bill, criminalizing the encouraging of citizens to contact Congress concerning legislation. In order to engage in this activity legally, had the bill passed with Section 220, bloggers, grassroots organizations, and other citizens would have had to fill out endless forms and inquiries in order to gain 'permission' from Congress to exercise free speech.

Senators Mitch McConnell and Robert Bennett, both Republicans, submitted an amendment to strip the bill of its free-speech robbing provisions.

YET 43 DEMOCRATS VOTED NO TO THE AMENDMENT!

The Liberty Sphere is posting their names below for the simple reason that these traitors of American liberty voted to keep in the ethics bill a provision that would have criminalized influencing citizens to contact their lawmakers without prior approval of Congress. In our opinion, that makes them traitors. And thus, this is 'The Liberty Sphere Blacklist.'

I am appalled, in fact, that some names are on this list. James Webb, the supposed 'conservative' Democrat from Virginia, voted against free speech. Joseph Lieberman, of all people, voted against free speech. I am, frankly, shocked and saddened that Lieberman would betray those of us who thought he was above such underhanded, subversive schemes.

It is to be noted that not a single Republican Senator voted to squelch free speech.

We have a Constitutional right under the provision of free speech, to freely petition our government without ANY restriction. But, as is so often the case, Democrats obviously think that any liberty is fair game in their subversive scheme to rob citizens of the rights GUARANTEED in the U.S. Constitution.
