Democrats and a few turncoat Republicans have decided that since their ideas do not gain favor in the court of public opinion when engaged in direct debate with their opposition, their only alternative is to silence that opposition. For example, if this bill passes the Senate, for me to encourage you, the reader, to contact Congress concerning this bill in question would be a criminal offense, unless I get permission of Congress to do so by regularly providing Congress complete information on my enterprise, The Liberty Sphere, financial records, and the purpose for which I am asking you to contact your lawmakers.
This law would have a chilling effect on free speech in the United States of America. One of the implicit freedoms guaranteed by the Constitutional provision of freedom of speech is the right to use that free speech to encourage fellow citizens to let their Congressional leaders know where we stand on proposed legislation. The attempt to prevent the citizens from letting their voices be heard is nothing less than tyrannical.
SIEG HEIL!
Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Castro, and many other despots found that the only way their ideas could be implemented was by silencing their critics either by passing laws that made criminals out of dissidents or by simply murdering those dissidents. With the attempt by the U.S. Congress to criminalize those who fail to get permission to criticize their elected officials, Democrats and their Republican turncoat comrades are placing themselves squarely in the camp of tyrants like Adolf Hitler.
This should be an outrage to all Americans who cherish liberty.
As you will see in the article below, Senator Mitch McConnell, R-KY, and two other Republican Senators have sponsored an amendment to this upcoming legislation that will negate the ominous section of the proposed bill, known as Section 220 of Bill S.1. Under the guise of 'lobbying reform' the Democrats have added this section to target bloggers, small grassroots citizens organizations, and others, requiring them to be treated under the very same laws as full-time, professional lobbyists. McConnell and his colleagues have offered the amendment to prevent the tyrants in Congress from sneaking Section 220 into law, resulting in the most serious attack on the First Amendment since this nation's founding.
Interestingly enough, Senator John McCain, R-AZ, was one of the original sponsors of this bill. If McCain is serious about becoming President, he is going to have to do much better than this. It is not surprising that McCain's allies in this attack on our rights are Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, among others.
This is much more than a Liberty Alert, my friends. This is an urgent call to action. If these Commie-Nazi liberty-haters in Congress are intent on going through with this plan to rob the citizens of freedom of speech, there will be heavy price to pay. I am already preparing my blacklist for the 2008 election. Anyone who votes in favor of Senate Bill Number One, known as S.1, that contains any portion of Section 220, will become an automatic target for defeat.
In fact, as far as we are concerned here at The Liberty Sphere, we will hound these traitors each and every day of our existence--until the day we are jailed if need be--in order to call attention to this shameful, disgraceful trashing of our Constitution. We will publish on a regular basis the names of each and every Senator who votes in favor of this bill. We will mock them, hound them, denigrate them, vilify them, condemn them, and humiliate them for the traitors they are if they go through with this brazen scheme to silence the voices of the people.

intrusion on First Amendment rights ever'

'The Senate is considering legislation that would regulate grassroots communications, with penalties for critics of Congress. "In what sounds like a comedy sketch from Jon Stewart's Daily Show, but isn't, the U. S. Senate would impose criminal penalties, even jail time, on grassroots causes and citizens who criticize Congress," says Richard A. Viguerie, chairman of GrassrootsFreedom.com
'Section 220 of S. 1, the lobbying reform bill before the Senate, would require grassroots causes, even bloggers, who communicate to 500 or more members of the public on policy matters, to register and report quarterly to Congress, as lobbyists are required.
'"Section 220 would amend existing lobbying reporting law by creating the most expansive intrusion on First Amendment rights ever," Viguerie said.
'For the first time in history, he stated, critics of Congress will need to register and report with Congress itself. Read the rest of the article here:
