Defying all of the polls, the expectations, and the pundits' predictions, Hillary Rodham Clinton has emerged as the winner of the New Hampshire Primary on the Democratic side.
Barack Obama, who conceded to Clinton roughly 30 minutes ago, came in 2nd in a close race separated by only an estimated 5000 votes.
John Edwards same in a distant third with 12% of the vote.
As expected, on the Republican side John McCain cruised to a victory over Mitt Romney. McCain is now back in the race in a big way following a difficult summer during which he had been given up for dead.
Mike Huckabee came in a distant 3rd in New Hampshire with 11% of the vote. Rudy Giuliani placed 4th, Ron Paul placed 5th, Fred Thompson came in 6th, and Duncan Hunter placed 7th.
In the delegate count for the GOP, only John McCain emerges with delegates for the GOP Convention. McCain thus joins Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, and Duncan Hunter as the GOP candidates who have won delegates so far.
Rudy Giuliani and Ron Paul have yet to win any delegates toward the GOP nomination.
