Cuba: The Same Old Commie Goons and Thugs

Obama wants to open up travel and end the trade embargo with regard to Cuba.

Not surprising, since many of his supporters sported images of Castro's hit-man, the mass-murderer Che Guevara.

One would think that things had changed in the Commie regime to our south.

Not so! They're still the same old goons and thugs as always. And a recent incident with a blogger proves it!

The Language of Oppression

One of the top bloggers in the nation, Pamela Geller, shares an email she received from a person who knows what it's like to live under oppressive government. Here is an excerpt:

I was born in Cuba, and know the language of Communism, Obama speaks it well. My grandfather's family had to flee Lebanon because of the Muslims to Cuba. We fled Cuba because of Castro.

Yet there is hatred out there in America directed toward those who would call attention to Obama's credibility problems. That hatred is epitomized in this comment received by Geller:

Soon we will shut down your hate spewing web sites. We will confiscate your firearms. In prison, you will get an education on the error of your ways. We will take your children and raise them as our own and instill in them the values of social justice. We will have a new American Republic of justice and order for all!

Civil Disobedience in the Era of Obama

I submit to you the premise that should Barack Obama be elected President of the United States along with a Democratic majority in Congress, the nation will witness civil disobedience on a scale that would make the Viet Nam era pale in comparison.

A significant portion of the population already believes that Obama is unfit, unqualified, and dangerously unprepared to be President.

And many of those who have blindly supported him because they want 'change' are not truly aware of the background, identity, and dark associations of the man. Neither are they aware of just how radical, extremist, and leftwing Obama and the Democratic Party leadership really are.

Once the extremist agenda of the new order in the era of Obama comes into plain view, many Americans will not have the stomach for it. In fact, I submit that patriots will be so thoroughly disgusted by programs initiated by these radicals that they will simply refuse to comply.

The first place that we may witness this civil disobedience is in the form of non-payment of taxes. The most conscientious patriots among us may well decide that they will not under any circumstance help fund a government that has lost its legitimacy.

And yes, such an act is considered unlawful and some could be jailed.

But according to the philosophy of the men who founded this Republic, there comes a point in time when governments can lose their legitimacy due to their penchant for limiting freedoms and robbing citizens of their hard-earned money in the form of oppressive taxation.

Thus, with the Constitution and the writings of the Founders as their guide, these brave souls may well collectively say to Washington, 'I can no longer in good conscience provide funds for this government.'

This act of non-compliance to taxation may also involve some businesses which are owned by these brave patriots. Self-employed persons do not have taxes taken out of their checks prior to their receiving the money, but they must pay the government in the form of quarterly tax payments.

Let's say, for example, that 10% of individual citizens and businesses refused to give the government any money. This would involve multi-billions of dollars of lost revenue for the government.

This would also involve roughly 31 million citizens.

What is the government going to do at that point? Arrest 31 million citizens, try them all in court at taxpayer expense, and then incarcerate them at taxpayer expense, when the lost revenue from those refusing to pay taxes has already nearly crippled the government's ability to stay afloat?

The court system will break under the pressure of the avalanche of citizens who have been arrested for tax evasion. The government will have to find a way to incarcerate all of these people. But it will lack the funds to do so.

In such a scenario the government would essentially be powerless to do a thing about these citizens, unless it decided to kill them. And history shows that oppressive governments will not hesitate to do just that to those it deems a threat to its ever-growing power.

Do I actually believe that 10% of citizens and businesses would risk everything by refusing to pay their taxes? Probably not. But never underestimate the passion, loyalty, and ingenuity of the American patriot who believes that the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights represent the ultimate law of the land, not the Congress, not the President, and not the Supreme Court.

The wrong people can get into those offices and subvert them for evil purposes. But the rights and concepts represented in the Constitution are timeless, overarching, and are never bound by tyrants with their twisted interpretations that leave citizens with less freedom and more bondage.

So get ready, my friends. We are on the brink of the roller coaster ride of the centuries.
