Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:
Brigid has been doing some reloading and has a great post and photos about it.
David Codrea reports that gun owners in South Africa are safe for now--pending legislation that would make them all unwitting criminals.
Kurt Hofmann delivers the news that a gun range is fighting for survival in the face of relentless legal attacks from the county government.
John Jacob H reminds us that it's ok to say NO! and be proud.
21 Guns Salute re-posts his very first blog essay upon his 1st anniversary as a blogger. Congrats, my friend!
Armed Citizen has a story that I'm always glad to see--a homeowner who shoots an armed home-invader, defending his life, family, and property.
Mindful Musings posts THE must-read quote of the week!
Pax Parabellum reports that North Carolina is destroying blogs and web entrepreneurship. One more example that North Carolina has turned into the California of the South.
Conservative Libertarian Outpost has good reading on piracy and the right to self-defense.
Insight on Freedom reminds us of the importance of inundating the U.S. Senate with demands that they vote NO on the ominous cap-and-trade legislation.
Standing By also has an excellent read on the Obama-Congressional attack on the U.S. economy.
Tam provides interesting reading on CCW in Indiana.
From Sipsy Street Irregulars: 'Why I Own Guns.' Excellent!
Say Uncle posts an NRA-alert for its members in Tennessee.
Nicki has some neat gun photos from Valley Forge in this post.

From Days of our Trailers: 'Ammunition Anonymous.'

Now It's Knife Rights That Are Under Attack
I received this communique last evening from Knife Rights concerning the latest example of government encroachment on citizen rights:
This is a government attack on the right to self-defense. Give these good folk some help if you can, but mainly, spread the word.
This is not a spam message. We need your help.
Below is a link for a page on kniferights.org. It gives model letters "SEND ONE" and info on what's going on. If you're not already aware, this has already happened in Europe, Australia and England, but that's another item.
The synopsis: U.S. Customs / Border Patrol have proposed revoking earlier rulings that assisted opening knives are not switchblades. The proposal would not only outlaw assisted opening knives, its overly broad new definition of a switchblade, would also include all one-handed opening knives.
Yes, that's right -- ALL pocketknives that you can open with one hand, period. Don't think it's not real, it's been ongoing, just not well known.
IMPORTANT: There is a 30-day window, which ENDS JUNE 30TH in which an extension must be obtained, so that the movement itself can be squashed for another few years.
Take a few minutes, spread this info to everyone you know, and then create a letter and actually send it.
The below link will provide you with full details of the story.

If the link doesn't work, simply visit kniferights.org and view the story there.
You also need to support and or view the story on the AKTI.ORG site. They help keep knives in your pocket. All major knife manufacturers have dealings with and or are members of the AKTI.
The A merican K nife and T ool I nstitute is what the NRA is for guns.
In closing, you know, I have never abused your email information and have a strict email content policy. I only write about items found on the Unique Blade, Inc. website, but I strongly believed you would want me to let you know, about an issue, as serious as this one, hence the reason for this email. I am in NOT being paid or receiving any special benefits by mentioning the site's above and for that matter they have no idea that I am.
Please believe the story and write the letter. WE MUST STAND TOGETHER AND BE LOUD! Our knife rights are on the line. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF IGNORING THE ISSUE. Do something and you better do it now.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
