THIS is one of the reasons Americans are quickly losing patience with the environmentalist movement and the Democrats who are bankrolled by them.
At every single turn, at every juncture along the way of attempting to address this nation's energy needs and the present crisis resulting from dependence on foreign oil, we are hit with roadblocks, stalling, excuses, and obstruction from the environmentalist wackos who got us in this mess in the first place.
With their utterly irrational restrictions on everything from building new oil refineries and expanding refining capacity, to nuclear power, coal, and a host of other ways to solve the problem, the U.S. is lagging woefully behind in its capability to provide for its own energy needs.
Americans are sick of it in increasing numbers, and we will remember when we go to the polls in November who is listening to the whining bleeding heart enviro-extremists who seem to value the bark of a tree more than a human life.
Nancy Pelosi's Democrats in the House, and Harry Reid's Democrats in the Senate are the very ones responsible for putting into place policies that led to today's outrageous oil prices...and hamstringing our ability to develop other sources of energy, such as nuclear power.
Duke Energy Corporation of Charlotte, North Carolina plans to build a brand new nuclear power plant in Cherokee County, South Carolina as part of the solution to our energy needs. But environmentalist extremists are blocking the plan.
'Friends of the Earth' and 'NC Warn' filed petitions to block the building of the nuclear reactor, claiming that the design has not been approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
This is nothing more than a stalling technique. Environmental groups are notorious for blocking ANY nuclear reactor whether it is an approved design or not.
Here is a message to the enviro-wackos: this country is through listening to your stupidity. Get over it, already. We have an energy problem to solve.
So, go have yourselves a party. Go jump in a hole in the woods, cover yourselves in bear-dung, and be happy. Let the rest of us solve the problems of the day.

McCain Signs Onto 'Drill Here, Drill Now'
Reversing years of opposing such measures, GOP Presidential nominee John McCain stated Tuesday that he supports drilling in the oil-rich regions off the Gulf Coast of the U.S.
McCain indicated that he still opposes drilling in ANWR, which he describes as 'pristine,' but that he now supports the idea of drilling off of the Gulf Coast in order to ease dependence of foreign oil and providing a break for consumers.
Barack Obama stated once again that he is opposed to all new oil drilling anywhere in the country.
With well-over 65% of the American public supporting offshore oil drilling, McCain has positioned himself as the one Presidential candidate who takes a rational approach to our current energy problems, particularly in light of the fact that Communist China, Brazil, and several other nations are drilling for oil right in our own backyard in the Gulf.
We have the environmentalist wackos and their lapdog Democrat submissives to thank for the bans on U.S. drilling. But of course, it is perfectly fine for Commies to travel halfway around the world to get the oil right out from under under our noses.
McCain is to be applauded for his change of policy on oil drilling in the U.S. But Obama, the environmentalist wackos, and the Democrats who do their bidding need to strung upside down by their heels, allowing the blood to flow back into their heads. Perhaps this is the only remedy for the brain-dead cells that occupy the space between their ears.

Drill Here, Drill Now
South Dakota has approved the construction of the first oil refinery to be built in America in nearly 35 years. Perhaps they are onto something that the rest of the country is struggling to recognize.
The area around the Dakotas westward and southward has been identified recently by explorers as perhaps the richest untapped source of crude oil in the world. It has been estimated that enough crude sits under the ground in America's plains to sustain our petroleum needs ad infinitum.
In addition, the latest polls show that Americans overwhelmingly want U.S. oil companies to begin drilling here, now, immediately, in order to begin to wean ourselves off of foreign oil.
Perhaps South Dakota is prudently preparing itself for the coming new era in oil drilling and refining in this country--something that should have been done years ago.
This is not to say that hydrogen fuel cell technology and bio-diesel, along with a massive expansion of solar and nuclear power, should not be pursued. It is essential that these alternative sources be developed, with the exception of corn-based biofuel that uses food for fuel--a terribly ill-conceived and expensive plan.
Bio-diesel is a much better choice because it uses switch-grass as its source rather than a food substance.
But in the short term our society cannot sustain itself on these alternative sources which have not yet been fully developed with efficient delivery systems. We still need the oil, and we need it NOW.
It is the height of stupidity not to drill in our own country. We are sitting on a goldmine, but we had rather listen to imbecilic environmentalist wackos who probably need to be locked up in mental hospitals.
Their day in the sun should come to an abrupt end. Their determination to stop the U.S. from using its own resources, resulting in a continued dependence on foreign oil, has been one of the biggest failures ever perpetrated on the American public.
This, in addition to the fact that China is now drilling in the Gulf, just off of the U.S. coastline, should be ample proof that the wackos who have had our hands tied for over 30 years should be muzzled and placed on psychotropic meds. The Commies are drilling for oil right in our own backyard, yet the U.S. is prevented from doing the same thing.
It is time to bring some sanity back into U.S. energy policy. Drill here. Drill now.
