John McCain shows us on a regular basis these days that being more conservative than Obama does not make one a conservative.
The 'maverick' appeared on Letterman and immediately began to praise Obama for his 'centrist' policies.
This is not the first time McCain has heaped praise on the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate. When Sarah Palin was being bombarded by criticism from some of McCain's inept campaign staffers, McCain went out of his way to praise Obama for his Cabinet picks rather than defend Palin.
McCain portrayed himself as a conservative during the campaign, and when compared to Obama, this is true. But in essence, McCain is no conservative. His status as a Senate 'maverick' always has a way of expressing itself in an unacceptable willingness to set aside principle in order to cavort with anti-freedom loonies on the Democratic side of the aisle.
This is precisely why he lost.
And even in defeat, McCain continues to praise losers.
