Deep freeze in the south

We have gone into the deep freeze in these parts.

Single digits last night (not windchill), and 20s for the high today. The higher elevations in the mountains of North Carolina got hit even worse. It has snowed in the Boone-Blowing Rock area each day for at least a week.

I admit I like colder weather and snow. But single digits and such is downright dangerous. So, the infamous "Arctic Vortex" has dipped all the way down here, and further down to the Deep South and the tip of Florida.

I hear we may have at least one more of these events this winter. We shall see.
