The progressive dilemma: the facts don't add up

Excerpt:

...Within that rallying cry, of course, is the assumption that the country could not exist without the New Deal programs. There is even a strong undercurrent of feeling that suggests that to the progressive, what happened in America prior to the 1930s does not count.

Thus, from 1776 to 1933, FDR's first year in office, nothing good was done. Nothing counts. Nothing matters whatsoever. Everything good and honorable and beneficial in this country came only after 1933.

There is a word for such rubbish, the shortened version being, "Bull."
