Reid moves forward background check vote

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., announced Thursday that a bill to require universal background checks on all private gun sales, citizen to citizen, has moved forward out of committee and will be brought to the floor for a vote possibly as soon as two weeks from now.

The bill will require all sales and transfers of guns by private citizens, including firearms handed down as part of family inheritance, be accompanying by a federal background check as one of the terms of sale or transfer.

Well? Fact of the matter is that most of us will simply say no to this. That being one of the main reasons why, for more than a few years now, we need to get away from things like using the phrase "law abiding citizen." One stroke of the pen and guess what? Also, as noted, you stomp on one part of the Bill of Rights and you stomp on the whole of it. It's a cascade effect.
Think that I am going to have my grandson submit to a background check when I give him his first firearm? It's not going to happen, period!

Hiya, Patrick! Good to see ya. And what you said here is what every true blue American is going to have to do before this is over...massive, widespread disobedience to government. Unfortunately it is increasingly apparent that this is the only things that will actually get the attention of the jackbooted government thugs who think they are our Lords and Mastas.
