Seven states sue Feds over free contraception mandate

When negotiations were underway in 2009-10 for the ObamaCare bill, Senators and Congressmen were led to believe that religious organizations would be exempt from a requirement that healthcare plans offer 'free contraception' to their clients, according to Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott.
Texas is one of seven states suing the Obama Administration in federal court for breaking its promise to offer exemptions for religious organizations and mounting a frontal attack on the religious freedom of churches, church schools, and religious charities by forcing them to provide freebies that violate their belief system.

Coulter doubles down on insistence on Romney

In an odd article in which she refers to Sarah Palin as part of the Republican elitist establishment, columnist Ann Coulter doubles down on her insistence that the GOP choose Mitt Romney as its nominee to face Barack Obama in November.
The article, published on Wednesday of this week, claims that Romney would be the most conservative nominee since Ronald Reagan.
But she then launches into a tirade against a half dozen conservative pundits who vehemently disagree with her, such as Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Bill Kristol, Laura Ingraham, and Michael Savage, making the curious accusation that they would prefer to choose a loser Tea Party candidate such as Christine O'Donnell or Sharon Angle.

Gingrich and the infanticide charge against Obama

During last night's Republican Presidential debate Newt Gingrich went after CNN's moderators for failing to bring up Obama's support for infanticide although they were quick to shine the spotlight on Republicans who condemn the policies of the current Administration regarding abortion, free contraception, and other controversial programs.
Not once during last night's debate or during the entirety of the 2008 Presidential campaign did the news media inform the public that as a state legislator in Illinois Barack Obama opposed a bill that would save the life of a new born infant if that infant survived an abortion attempt.
CNN claims that it did, indeed, report the story in 2008, but, as with the New York Times and other Leftwing oriented news organizations, editors can claim innocence by pointing to stories they placed on the back pages somewhere underneath the story of a local bag lady who gave away her lollipop to a child. True, they reported it, but the manner in which it was reported insured little or no attention.

Apologies

My apologies for the lack of a 2A News Roundup this week. I have suffered from a stubborn bug for over a month, and the cough associated with it simply will not let go. I am now on my 3rd round of antibiotics.

To say that the cough is getting old is an understatement. It has become very tiresome.

So, for now, I am doing the minimum--the Examiner articles for which I can make a meager living...below the poverty level but enough to eat off of.

I will get back to the regular 2A News Roundup as soon as possible. I have every confidence it won't be long. Rumors of my demise are, as always, greatly exaggerated.

Thanks for checking back in on these pages regularly. You regular readers are one of the reasons I keep going, sometimes against all odds.

Six dollar gasoline and mutually assured economic destruction

Reports from around country today indicate that in some areas gasoline has hit six dollars a gallon. The Obama Administration has done very little to address the systemic problem associated with domestic gasoline production but apparently has embraced Obama's own words from 2007, "Under my plan energy costs will necessarily skyrocket."
Obama had a chance to reverse such an unfortunate course of action by approving the Canadian oil pipeline this year. But he nixed it.
The problem, however, with domestic oil production is complicated and is indicative of how modern industrialized nations have become so economically intertwined that it is difficult to unravel it all to get to the heart of the issue.

Obama's blasphemy

At the National Prayer Breakfast on Feb. 2 in Washington, D.C., Barack Obama stated that his proposals to raise taxes on wealthier Americans are in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Such a statement is, plainly, blasphemy.
Jesus said nothing about taxing the rich whatsoever or the need to start a government program to help the poor. He spoke of individual responsibility, out of one's own free will, to help the needy.
The Gospel is not and never has been about government action but about individual action out of free will, part from any government mandate or coercion.
Obama's statements often twist the meaning of scripture in an unconscionable fashion that is designed to conveniently couch Marxist political ideology in religious terms. Such a tactic also serves the purpose of supposedly providing a Biblical justification for big government programs that are designed to confiscate wealth from citizens in order to provide wealth to those who don't have it.

The anti-freedom black list, part two

In part one of this expose of the forces within America today that seek to undermine our freedom through the systematic dismantling of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the focus was on Hollywood elites, politicians, and the top financiers of the political campaigns of those who deplore human liberty while giving lip service to it.
We now turn our attention to individuals and organizations, some with innocuous sounding names, that are most insidious in their attempts to erode the Constitutional foundation of freedom and its restrictions on government power.
Anti-Freedom Organizations
Some of these groups only gained notoriety when Barack Obama ascended to the Presidency. But they have been around a long time, working behind the scenes not only to lay the groundwork for a political coup but to scrap the Constitution altogether due to its 'flaws' and implement a new one based upon so-called 'positive rights' that that are designed to empower government and not the people.

The anti-freedom black list--part one

America has been and continues to be under attack from within from forces that are determined to undermine and replace the concepts of freedom as delineated in the U.S. Constitution.
It is time to name the names. Who are these individuals, entities, politicians, and organizations that threaten the freedoms that are associated with our Constitutional Republic?
Don't be fooled by their common terminology that unites them all, such as 'democracy,' 'progress,' 'self-determination,' or 'empowering the people.' Their definitions of these terms have nothing whatsoever to do with freedom but have been twisted to reflect the view of 'democracy' and 'progress' envisioned by dangerous subversives such as George Soros, Media Matters, The Center for American Progress, and Democracy Now.
On this 'Presidents' Day' during which we honor the memory of our Founding presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and others such as James Madison and John Adams, it is vitally important to recognize that much of the rhetoric being used by the forces of anti-freedom in their name is merely a smokescreen for the biggest attack on liberty in the history of the Republic.
