As the Examiner reported Friday, numerous new questions have arisen in the wake of the release of an official CIA timeline of events concerning the Sept. 11 attacks on the Libyan consulate at Benghazi, resulting in the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American diplomats.
Reporters who have covered the massacre from the beginning immediately noted that the timeline directly contradicts intelligence reports on the ground. And today newly released intel shows even more contradictions to the timeline, raising the question as to whether or not official statements from the CIA concerning the massacre can be considered trustworthy.
