Newly released emails from Libya to the Obama administration in Washington show that President Obama knew from day one that the Libyan attacks that killed four U.S. diplomats were acts of terrorism and not a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Muslim film.
The emails were released Tuesday by the intelligence community in an effort to clear their reputations from the accusation by the White House that when the president stated the attacks were motivated by a film that insulted the prophet Muhammad, it was only passing along information provided by intelligence sources on the ground.
John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, told Fox News Tuesday evening that none of the earliest emails from Libya said a word about the film but specifically noted that the consulate in Libya had been warned in advance that al Qaeda connected terrorism was on the rise in the region and that the lives of U.S. diplomats were in danger.
