In an interview with Reuters Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg confirmed earlier reports that she had originally written a dissenting opinion in the ObamaCare case in which Chief Justice John Roberts stunned conservatives and liberals alike by siding with the court's liberals in upholding the law.
This reporter had noted in an earlier article just after the ruling that Justice Antonin Scalia's dissent at times read like the majority opinion, particularly in the manner in which it makes reference to Ginsburg's remarks as if they are the dissenting opinion, the point being that right up until a few days before the ruling was issued Roberts was apparently set to rule with the conservatives.
At the time of the court's decision this reporter stated that it had become clear that Roberts had changed his mind within the three or four days prior to the ruling.
